Chaos's goal is to destroy all life in the galaxy. And guess what? They still around because Chaos does not require life. Time has no meaning in the Warp and they are immortal and eternal there.

In old 2nd edition fluff they are almost as old as the universe itself and are more a massive force of nature that just keeps devouring and "resetting" galaxies in order to consume new DNA strains etc...

More recent fluff has made them more "mysterious" and ambiguous

Nids adapt to nurgles plagues within hours, sometimes less, and even use his plagues right back at them. They have also never been corrupted by chaos (except physically mutated)

Somewhat possible but orks are incredibly resilient to disease, they will likely survive any major pandemic

Necrons don't need flesh, SOME want flesh bodies to return too, but they don't need them, likewise the Ctan don't need life essence to survive, they lived off of stars for billions of years. Life just tastes better I guess

When Chaos devours all reality, it won't even matter if they're immune to it. Chaos is the kind of thing that even if you can resist it's temptation, can still utterly destroy you if you let even the barest dregs of it in, and all of reality being subsumed by the evil doesn't sound like it would end well for ANYONE. Chaos is known as the Primordial Annihilator for a VERY good reason.

Nurgle Cultist with the plague are still alive, the plague does not kill them but scars their bodies. Not to mention they have to deal with Tzeentch technically sabotaging his diseases from time to time.

Tzeentch deploys First Wave flamer daemons to manoeuvre xenos into fighting each other, Nurgle suicide bombs the likely victors with hug-happy Second Wave Nurglings, Khorne wrecks any wretches left alive with a Third Wave of whatever those daemon cav guys are called, and Slaanesh makes her Fourth Wave daemons react to ork spores as if they were cocaine. Sssnorttt! Gulp.
