Titans will murder your ass from a mile away with a nuclear blast that vaporizes a couple square miles and can trade shots with a starship, but some Assault Marines or Chaos Space Marines dropped on top of one can cut their way inside. Worth keeping in mind that Doom Marine has a notable difference from Primarchs: Primarchs can, eventually, tire. Enough damage can wear them down. They can become weary, it just takes fucking forever.
The Doom Marine is a perpetual motion machine. Every single kill he makes just empowers him, it rejuvenates him and lets him continue. Literally the only way to stop him, ever, is to trap him somewhere no-one will ever (probably) find him with no way out and nothing to kill.

One minute Perturabo is a lumbering colossus who shrugs off bolter fire and and advances steadily (but slowly) through waves of dying foes. Then there's a bit like this where the author wants to play up the shock and awe of the onlooker, and so he dials back the actual detail of what's happening, and then adds a measure of time at the end that sounds impressive but that he hasn't really thought about in terms of consistency.

This incredible speed is absent from the more detailed Primarch fights because it's ridiculous when you try to write it in less vague terms.
