My idea is to team up with people in order to survive and reach our quota for each season, and I would play the offtank role in the frontline realying mainly in agility to dodge attacks and simple physical attacks for the daily hunts. When things get hard my intention is to either use Overdrive combined with Willpower to endure the pain and Bloodlust to sustain Overdrive over long periods of time or use Cataclysm to become intangible, whatever suits more the situation. If we have a healer in the party who can help me to maintain Overdrive by healing me that would be really nice.

I'm not sure. Current idea:

Supernatural creatures have abandoned all logic so they can only be killed in illogical/nonsensical ways. Modern weaponry is the result of science/technology so they cannot harm the supernatural by definition. Vampires for example are vulnerable to sunlight. Why? Obviously that's because blood stains horribly and under the sun their messy clothes become visible to everyone so they die of embarassment. That's why vampires dressed in red are immune to sunlight. They aren't immune to embarassment though. This means the most efficient way to kill a modern vampire is to convince it the colour red is so very last season.

I think the best way is to just make friends the rest of the year. Group up when the Culling hits and ride it out. Piss Bomber aside, no one is going to attack a full party of 5 or more Hunters. Hell, even soloing 3 Hunters with a balanced party would be difficult

My form is that of a black bug-like carapace on a humanoid body. My main job is to be a distraction for the heroes - I stand around grandstanding while my mooks load up stolen tech from one of our competitors. Then as they're escaping I fight the heroes, and manage to escape just in the nick of time so we can do it all again next time Saturday Morning. More awkward is the plucky reporter who has started digging into the organisation. My bosses want me to kill her, but I don't like killing (and she's really very pretty...) so mostly I just kinda try to warn her off but I'm not very good at that.

I generally figure I won't have to worry about it because I'll die in the hunting seasons before the Culling. Everyone acts like the Culling is such a big deal, but you're more likely to get mindraped by a Strange monster or eaten by a Dragon.

the problem with MH is that bliss makes rules up on the fly and doesn't implicitly state it in the cyoa.

For example alot of people thought you could take modern firearms with ancient weapon in the second major update, but bliss said you couldn't, you could have a laser gun if you took ancient weapon and skull weaponry.

In fact, thanks to all my defensive magic, healing, teleportation, mental resistances and psychic ability, along with the skill to prepare potions and traps via Alchemy, Poisons and Bindings whilst storing them with Pocketing, I'm starting off stronger than even a high-tier Strange. I'll use my illusions to manipulate monsters into fighting each other and falling into my traps, then kill them off. Wurm first so that I get the physical power to tangle with a dragon, then I'll incarnate into a StrangeWurm to take out a dragon, then once I have Dragon Scales I can incarnate as a Strange Dracowyrm, which basically has me set for life. My high defenses and array of conveniences mean that even if things go wrong, I can escape.

I have loads of tribute points, so I might as well max out my appearance to make socialising with all my hangouts easier. Lots of luxuries for a really enjoyable life in good accomodation, and an intelligent and interesting Servant who I hope to befriend. I can use Bounty to fight monsters outside my normal purview. I'll hang out with people as much as possible to be nice, and between my powers and allies every event should be easy, Culling included.

I had just finished playing Bloodborne all night, and went to a dentist's appointment. I had just changed dentists, and while I guess showing up sleep deprived wasn't the best form, it didn't matter in the end.
This big ol' cthulhu looking motherfucker shows up and does something to my head. He starts using a girl he's raping to babble words at me, but I don't care. Despite the control, no, because of the control, I feel Hate. Some eldritch thing want's to use me for it's reproduction cycle? Oh, hell no!

My tired, addled mind fell into the fiction I had recently been immersed in. I remade myself into my Hunter, and took the poor girl away from the thing was eating her. I couldn't save her, there wasn't much left to save, but I could give her a far gentler fate as my Doll.
Now, I try to keep myself in check. I need to hunt, and to consume the echoes of strength from my prey. If I stay away from it for too long, life starts to twist around me, changing into hostile, blood thirsty beasts. It's all my fault, this damned curse, but it's relatively easy to avoid.
It's not like there's any shortage of prey for the slaughter...

My first order of business is to trace out the town's sewer system/underground cave network and set up a campsite somewhere comfortable preferably near a fresh water source, the first season will be spent mapping out the entirety of the sewer system, finding out where the drain pipes start and end, killing level 3 threat and lower monsters with my arcane enchanted gun and getting trained and healed when necessary.

Once I have established a safe perimeter and camp, its time to set up my piss bomb making workshop. Buy the necessary equipment from the alchemy shop and large cauldrons from the market. Reagents remain the same, nitric acid/aqua fortis, mercury/quicksilver. ethanol/rectified spirits from the bar and aluminum shavings and get to work.

My daily routine will be setting up large cauldrons underneath the drain pipes from men washroom urinals, let the cauldrons collect the piss as I go about hunting to meet my quota, at around the evening when the cauldrons are full, start boiling the piss down, do some training on the side, as well as study at the library researching ways to extract and store monster souls in arcane binding traps and do a little hunting on the side, at night filter the boiling piss through a hopper lined with fine linen cloth, let the filtered piss cool and slowly pour in nitric acid, urea nitrate will precipitate out as yellowish/whitish crystals because its not very soluble in water solutions wash the crystals with cold water and filter again, collecting and storing the crystals away in my pock dimension. Once every week I make a trip to the town to buy more reagents and supplies.

A couple a seasons in, start making mercury fulminate to act as my explosive primer, dissolve mercury in nitric acid and slowly pour in ethanol, do this in the open air with a lot of ventilation if possible but the poison skill would mitigate a lot of the harmful effects of the toxic fumes, let the reaction cool down and wash with water, mercury fulminate will precipitate out as pinkish crystals, filter, extract and store wet in water.

In the season leading up to the culling is when I start manufacturing my bombs, the visitor perk is going to be extremely useful in this regard, I can pop into a public library, access the internet and memorize the public domain and free publications on improvised explosive devises and explosively formed penetrators, thanks to recall and relatively good int I should be able to retain and write down all the information with constant back and forth trips.

Head to the blacksmith and use whatever tributes I have collected to commission containers, bowls and brass caps to be made. The basic pipe bomb will be filled with a 4:1 mixture of urea nitrate to aluminum shavings, sealed with candle/bee wax with a brass percussion cap filled with mercury fulminate affixed inside each bomb through a narrow tube with a spring loaded striker pin held in place by a firing pin needled above the primer. I can rig up trip wire landmines or throw them like grenades or set them off manually with my gun.

EFP traps are just going to be metal drums filled with the urea nitrate and aluminum explosive mixture packed in and sealed with a inverted copper bowl with the same mercury fulminate primer and detonating mechanism.

Hopefully by the time the culling has started I'd have a few monster souls captured alongside a wurm soul for digging out tunnels and defensive perimeters and enough explosives to last until the culling is finished.

Ever since I was knee-high, I wanted to hunt dragons. No other monster can quite compare. They’re the classic, the ultimate, the staple of heroic monster slayers of all time. While my classmates were doing their homework, I was studying the blade. My parents eventually gave in and hired a private tutor in the ways of swordsmanship and physical fitness.

My primary purpose in the Hunt is to slay dragons. That is my specialty, what I have spent my life studying and training for. I hunt lesser beasts for their souls, and to make sure I can keep up my modest lifestyle should a year go by in which I fail to slay even a single dragon. My twin blades have already proved their legends to be true, aiding me, ensuring that I have never come back from a hunt empty-handed.

Basically, think of it like a magic claymore. Single use, powerful magics that require a surface to draw them on and can be triggered remotely or act like landmines. They can be used defensively, to create a magical barrier that's bound to an area, but it won't last long.

There will be an item/item tree that lets you use quicksilver to make a circle much faster a limited number of times per day.

So basically, you throw a vial of mercury at a wall, magically shape it into a circle, and then boom, trigger it whenever you want.

Etna has always been good at two things. Making explosives and waiting patiently for them to explode. When she entered the Hunting Grounds, she saw a new world opening in front of her. During the Culling, however, she noticed that, if her explosives didn't make creatures explode, she was helpless, which forced her to acquire other disciplines. Well known in Town for her brash and rude behavior, she's willing to lend her aid to any that'd request it. Note that willing doesn't mean happy. That's a state you'll only find her when something is exploding. One of her most kown extravagances are her attempts at making aesthetic & devastating explosions and naming them afterwards. She lives in the slums, in a tiny abode with a Moth Girl (pic related). She made a priority to have a map, as she considers herself a trapper, and a good trapper could always use a map.

As far as Class and Perks, Pond Scum and Winner seem most interesting as far as broad applicability and utility.

First: Munchkin time!

Exploit 1: Have a party with plenty of Seers (plus some non Seers)

Soon as non Seer gains xp, all Seers gain directly., then all Seers gain from the gain of all the other Seers, etc... if the gain ratio is k, as in a Seer gains k*(+xp of other party members), then at each step of that cycle, all the seers gain (n-1)*k*previous gain, where n is the total number of seers.

Choose n so that (n-1)*k is >= 1, and the whole thing explodes. Soon as the non Seer member of the party gains any xp, all the Seers gain infinite XP.

Have a Pond Scum around to allow the required non Seer members to take advantage of this setup, and poof.

Exploit 2: Pond Scum + Faster Growth.

If _the_ way for Pond Scum to gain XP is by trading for it... Faster Growth should make the trade positive sum. ie, could trade XP back and forth with someone and keep gaining more.

Anyways, while the Seer exploit seems more explodey, I'm going to go with Pond Scum because seems like a more interesting class.

The dreadnaught is the only class of ship which can mount 4 A-M cannons, so it seems wasteful *not* to take them. I can either annihilate any target in one blast or cycle them to effectively quarter the cool-down time.
