A little column A, a little column B.

Certainly artificial wombs are available to all but the poorest looking at you, Yu Jing citizens but there are still people who choose to carry a child for personal or religious reasons.
However, it is considered a human rights violation to deny the child the natal gene therapy that prevents genetic defects like Downs Syndrome.

In backwater places like Dawn it does still happen, though.
>>
I like the setting, but not so much the skirmish game. How's the RPG though?
>>
>>52665962
Missing three fluff chapters, but otherwise pretty much finished.
>>

>Missing three fluff chapters
So, ready within the next decade?
>>
>>52665955
Aleph, please.
Extreme poverty exists only in PanO. That's why their culture is inferior.
>>
>>52665955
Doesn't YJ take good care of its people? Haqq and Nomads seem like they'd be the most poverty-stricken, with PanO and YJ mostly limiting it to Ateks and Japanese respectively.
>>
>>52666011
>PanO is poor
I guess that's why they've provided twice the manpower & equipment Yu Jing has to the fight against the EI...
>>
>>52666045
In the same way modern China takes good care of it's people.
Their lives are a coin it doesn't mind spending en mass.
>>
>>52666074
PanO has the largest divide between the rich and the poor out of all the human nations. It is the richest as a whole but it is far from equal on an individual level. Yu Jing citizens have all their basic needs taken care of by the state so while they may have less money to spend they also won't ever starve or end up on the street.
>>
>>52666074
Sounds like a smart move. Maybe they'll only get half as sepsitorized.

Still not sure where an AI gets off alienating its subjects, but whatever. We only really need you for Transcendence, everything else doesn't matter too much.
>>
>>52666179
Now, now, ease up on the overly hostile tone. Ur is a civilization of peace.
>>
So, what faction is most popular on tg?
>>
>>52666329
Recently it seems like YJ.
>>
>>52666329
Whatever you like. Faction tiers are very close in Infinity (and highly disputed). As for ~aesthetics~, it varies widely according to personal tastes:
>PanO for Deus Vult
>Yu Jing for Communism and Space Samurai
>Nomads for furries and assorted degenerates
>Ariadna for modern military/operators operating operationally or those who like the rules but hate anime
>Haqq for low-tech but you still wanna use the heavy armor and for delicious brown qts
>CA because sinister ayys
>Aleph because GitS
>Tohaa because...someone tell me, I haven't seen much Tohaa here lately.

PanO is as religion driven as western Europe, so not thatmuch. It's just that the Church has a lot of money so they have a powerful lobby.

>>
>>52671842

Thanks! I'm still developing it over time but I'm getting happier with it as time goes on.
>>
>>52671271
Dude your RED game is super on point. I really liked your WIP last thread but i think you may have over did the white highlights in a few places, like around the feet. Granted cameras can bring out all kinds of faults you wouldn't see with the naked eye and this may have a better presence on the table thanks to the contrasts.

Also interesting work on the servo muscle dotting, i do not have the patience for it so I just wash it in metallics, primary color, then darken it with something like strong tone. Everyone else I know just dry brushes that.

Fireteams: Going to try that for the first time this weekend. Buddy and I are relatively new at Infinity.

Any "Oh yeah!" rules interactions we should watch out for? It seems like that's happened to us a lot since we started, so figured I'd ask :)
>>
>>52673233
Just read the rules section on them very thoroughly. While fire teams are very strong they have some pretty big limiting factors you need to be aware of. In terms of hard rules I mainly see people forget the 4 man link bonus of sixth sense level 2

Thanks! Some of the white around the feet is actually supposed to just be white line markings, similar to around the chest. I spent about 6 hours on this guy. For me that's a quick job, usually it's closer to 10-12 hours.

Hey everyone, I've been playing PanO for a bit over half a year now, and I recently came into about 60 bucks that I'm looking to spend on some new stuff. Here's what I currently own:

1x Vanilla starter (3 Fusis, 1 Orc, 1 Akali Sikh Commando, 1 Nisse Sniper)
1x Fusilier box (4 fusis)
1x Aquila Guard
1x Swiss Guard
1x Guarda de Assalto
1x Knight Hospitaller
1x Hexa sniper
1x Auxilia box (2 auxilia, 2 auxbot)
1x Bulleteer box (2 bulleteers)
1x Mulebot box (1 mulebot 1 pathfinder)
1x Support Pack (1 doc, 1 engineer, 2 pal bots)
1x Jotum

Any recommendations to fill any gaps and add new utility? I'm not extremely interested in Military Orders, but SAA could be fun. I figure my NCA collection is mostly filled, although I plan to grab a Tik/Uhlan box on the purchase after this one.

I was thinking a Croc Man and a Sierra dronbot (TRO) box, but I'm stumped on what else to get.
>>
>>52675075
Pathfinder isn't a mulebot, it's a dronbot. Not even the same size.

That said, dronbot box and the croc cock are both good ideas.
>>
>>52675158
But the box is labeled as a mulebot box... Oh shit lol. I thought that the Mulebot box was a pathfinder plus Mulebot thing, with the horned one being the mule and the other the pathfinder. I don't actually own a pathfinder, neat.

Thanks though!
>>
>>52674175
>supposed to just be white line markings
Oooh that makes sense.

Super jelly about those shades reflection effect. I always have trouble trying to do eyes so I prefer visors but thats even finer detail than what the eyes would be.
>>
>>52675468
And if you're going to start ASA I'd suggest either the new starter or Bagh Mari box. Probably the BM box in your case since you already have an AssGuard. Nagas are important as well, or at least something that you can proxy as a Naga.

Thinking through on how to tackle a +3 BS, +1 B model with a HMG

You can just shoot other members and let that dude drop you too? I mean it makes both a normal roll right?

Is there any actual difference between GW spray primer and a Walmart can like rustoleum? If so, I'll swap. I've always been curious.

In my experience GW primer is a lot more forgiving if you put it on too thick. It just overall leaves a thinner coat and dries very fast.

It's a little on the small side, but not too different from the HRL Wu Ming. Smaller than the Domaru, but those guys are huge. The Crane Spitfire is also abnormally large, big enough to wrestle Achilles 2.

If you consider the old crane as a female then the size is perfect for today's standards.

No that was was an older win picture, I usually drybrush the gun a bit, anyone know how to make guns look better, İdk what to do
>>52698023
I use multiple layers of colors starting with the base color for example the orange armor has a base of orange brown (~5layer) then I use ink to darken the gaps between the plates (mostly soft ink from armypainter) after that I use scrofulus(?) brown to paint the plates again, but don't go all the way to the edges except when the armor ends there (pic, you see that I painted the bottom of all the chest armor plates, but leave the "upper parts dark"), then I brighten the same color with dead white and do the same, and the again with more white, and last I outline every armor plate with dead white,
That is how I get brightness in and still keep shadows
Did that help?

Just a tip from another anon, painting a quck layer of light pink before the orange brown gives it better coverage and an easier time getting a solid base coat.

Simple green works better and is a whole hell of a lot less toxic than acetone.
>>
>>52698639

IDK, seems playable for now but it looks like its missing some smoke sources to help compliment the Djanbazans (I'm chiefly thinking of Ghazi Muttawi'ah). Perhaps another mid field camo specialist like the Hunzakut FO.

Doesn't look too bad for getting back into the game, I think with some played games under your belt you'll naturally find what you might supplement your force with.

I'd suggest taking the old Azrail to be fielded as a Hassassin Ayyar, which is by far an awesome unit, especially the shock marksman option.
>>
>>52700792
Addendum. The Ayyar is an awesome Heavy Infantry Unit that's S2 and currently doesn't have a model, which makes it a prime target to proxy with an OOP Azrail or Janissary.

You may need to scale back your expectations or learn techniques that make it easier for you.

>>52702565
That said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this model. You could stand to hit it with one more highlight. If you wanted, you could touch up a few places (noticeably the butt of the rifle), but nobody would notice if that was on the table.

If the model looks good at arm's length. It's good enough or a wargame, bro.

People are giving you perfectly reasonable advice, no one is making fun of you so don't take your frustration out on them. Watch some turotials on youtube, read turotials online, talk with painters, and then paint for a
Couple 1000 hours and see where you are after that. It takes years to become proficient at any hobby, and it will take some people longer than others. It's not a race, and being hard on your results and comparing them to others is pointless. It is a hobby about personal improvement, and that only if you want to, lots of people are happy playing the game with models that look just like yours, and I'd be perfectly happy to play against them.
>>
>>52707697

>>52707786
The models are dry brushed. maybe I have been doing this wrong, thinking it was dry brushing.
>>
>>52708119
Maybe. Drybrushing takes a really dry brush and fucks up the bristles because it is so dry that you have to, really, scrub the bristles down to get the pigment off of the bristles. It ruins brushes for detail painting, but it makes it easy to hit the high edges of textured models quickly.

Go with the Army Painter method - prime, bright (because wash darkens) basic colors, wash, pick a few details, base, matt varnish, done.
There's a trick to washes - put some on the palette, add a drop of glaze medium, and that'll reduce pooling (and the shitty "coffee ring" markings) by half. And remember to soak up the excess wash that's pooling before it dries.

All the rules are done, I believe (though v5 of the core book fucked up the layout in a couple of odd places), so you should be able to introduce it now. You'd just have to whip up a brief description for the Nomads and Human Edge.
>>
>>52730308
Fuck off. The Autocannon is an old sculpt and is one of the best in the game, and the old AP HMG looks much better and less boring than the new one. Also, it takes away the unique look of the Tankhunters themselves and just gives them the exact same armor as Spetsnaz just with either puffy pants and no stripped shirts.

>Haqq + Nomads + Ariadna = Best Bros
Not entirely.

Haqq has a friendly relationship with us.

The Nomads exist as a dumping ground for the worst parts of humanity, by allowing them to exist it gives the majority of the human sphere someone to look down on and feel better than.

Ariadna, however, is a mistake. By allowing them their independence, and limiting the industrial development of Dawn, the O-12 severely weakened humanity, right at a time when we will need to be at our strongest.

>>52726032

I've been using nu-forgeworld clear paints over a metallic base, and then painting the under suit. It works really well for stuff like yu jing heavy infantry and pano, who feature a significant surface area of armor plates that you may want to look pretty uniform across the collection. If you have an airbrush it's a good time, and an easy ish way to get a significant amount of an infinity collection done quickly.

>Hyperion is the core inspiration of Infinity that everyone forgets

Meh, its just core for the in universe interstellar politics politicing. Most of the regular rule of engagements and technoporn are inspired by Shirow and Otomo's works at best, so those "misattribute" are understanable since it was soo deep, even down to the aesthetic.

Also, how do you explain Yu Jing, Haqqs, and Ariadnans?

It has also tons of additional stuff.
Good addition for the OP.
Kinda like the old catalog but better.

Is there any way to have more control over your characters backstory in the infinity RPG? It just seems super technical with points and every little thing giving you a bonus, "give them more points" seems the obvious answer, but it doesnt make it less combersome.

Also, what scale of power are characters supposed to be at? I saw some awesome concept art of a hexa being healed by a dactari, but it seems they want to start characters more on a bum level than actual experienced soldiers. Kind of a rogue trader vs deathwatch thing?
>>
>>52740579

Speaking as someone about to run a game of it, characters seem pretty on the level for badasses; but you have to remember the game's genre is more, say, shadowrun than deathwatch; the 'generic' campaign is a bunch of bureau noir agents doing spy and sneaky things, lots of espionage and black operations stuff going on; my PCs are effectively a tomcat doctor, a devil dog, a reverend custodier (slash gecko pilot), thamyris the aoidos, and an odalisque, and I feel like each of them very well lives up to their inspiration unit, with plenty of room to grow into legitimate, 'would be a named character on the tabletop' badasses. I have some houserules to help along; the most notable one is no rolling for alien race, but giving all my PCs 3 extra life points that they can spend to be a dog warrior, or during step nine to increase stats, as well as through the character creation process normally, which helped a lot.

Finally, if you want more control, just go with the point buy option; 15 LP and go.

The way it is set up and from what I glanced through the rulebook; the events can be rearranged at the end of character generation to make a more coherent story. The tables are really there for minimal work for the players to pick up a new character and run with them.

Granted I think the online character generator is borked as I was able to churn out a character with obscene close combat stats and skills, something like 18 Agility and Brawn. I think it keeps adding stats for every career path you take.

So a Su Jian takes two structure damage right? At that point he gains an unconsciousness token. I activate no-wound unconsciousness and keep trucking.

I get into another firefight and the su Jian takes another STR damage, obtains a second unconsciousness token, and I use no wound unconsciousness to keep trucking right? The next STR damage actually kills the Su Jian?
>>
>>52746301
>I get into another firefight and the su Jian takes another STR damage, obtains a second unconsciousness token, and I use no wound unconsciousness to keep trucking right?
No. You can't activate NWI while already in the NWI state. If a unit takes a hit while NWI is active, it dies no matter what.

However if it chose not to activate NWI after those first two hits and the enemy dealt a third damage point while it was lying there (or if it just took 3 damage in one go) then you could activate NWI from the second unconsciousness state.
>>
>>52746301
That's not how NWI and remote presence interact. When you lose 2 STR you go unconscious. You can either go NWI, stay up but die on the next hit, or go normal unconscious, where you can take another level of unconscious and either stay there or use the second unconscious to go NWI.

There's a difference between people of different ethnicities and different species.

Wulvers, like mules, are a genetic dead end.

If you had any understanding of biology you'd realize that.
All we care about is preserving HUMANITY. No alien species matters.
>>
>>52746512
Ok, so what's the advantage of staying down as opposed to standing back up?

Does it give you a chance to save the Su Jian with an engineer?
>>
>>52746762
that is indeed the reason for the option, yes.
>>
I'm having trouble finding out how much your opponent can know about your lists.

Do they get to know what models you have in your list (not who is the lieutenant though)?
Do they get to know what models you have as camo markers or TO camo markers?
>>
>>52747518
In the army builder you have the Courtesy List option (the little smiley face).
Click it and it will print a PDF of a list as your opponent sees it.

To quickly answer your question:
>Do they get to know what models you have as camo markers or TO camo markers?
Not until they are revealed during the game. They are not shown in the Courtesy List.
>>
>>52747546
Ok sweet. About to buy some camo tokens and it got me curious.

Private information (stuff your opponent doesn't need to know about until its reveal):

Which unit(s) have Chain of command

The units and loadouts of AD troops

The units and loadouts in hidden deployment.

The units and loadouts of units in the camouflaged state

The loadouts of holoprojector troops (remember that with Holo L2 you can also disguise, so its often wise to disguise the profile a bit to keep surprises, like saying a Kanren KHD is a FO)

Wulvers might be sterile, but Dogfaces can breed true. Given they're born of human mothers and raised in human communities and fight alongside human soldiers to defend human lands against alien threats, Dogfaces can basically be considered humans with a unique, genetically inherited ability.
