They do have the cutest girls. And an aspect that kind of makes sense - using stealth to get close to a target, and then taking advantage of their heavier armor and melee weapons to do serious damage. Not just screaming like a banshee.

Best Aspect. Stealth, huge attack numbers, and juuuust barely not as good a statline as a Space Marine. I remember one of my first games way back in high school, a single Scorpion squad popped up at the far flank of my friend's IG gunline, he had to pour so much fire into them to finally kill them he had nothing left for the two waithlords that stomped into his center. Didn't help that I was sliding my Fire Prism out of cover to snipe at his tanks then sliding back before his turn. He almost killed it with indirect fire, but those were the first tanks to go. It got down to just the exarch, refused to break, refused to die, killed a squad all on his own before they got him.

They've been my favorite aspect ever since I was a kid and they first came out. I used to draw the aspect rune on my middle school books.

Back then it was 2e, and they were pretty lackluster on the tabletop: pretty much an assault marine without a jumppack, and everybody back then used to whine about how crappy assault marines were. They'd invariably lose in melee to any other dedicated melee troops, so nobody liked them, but they'd shred any non-melee specialists, and had far more durability against shooting than the other melee specialists. Still, trading the marines' jumppacks for the mandiblasters was a pretty rough deal.

The mandiblaster back then was a free hit at str 3 ''before'' resolving the melee. This made them gods at killing cultists, guardsmen, gaunts, and the like, but it would bounce right off anything burlier.

They're almost identical. They just swap two points of S/T for two points of I/Ld. If you factor +1S chainswords, Exarchs and the auto take formation for +1WS/BS, they're straight up better.

Of course! Aspects are the ultimate larpers. Their whole shtick is becoming another person in order to confront the tumult of war. A Banshee wearing his war-mask would be fully immersed in his role as a mythical daughter of Morai-Hegg and would consider his tit armour an extension of himself.

The Banshee is a female aspect, so when men join their Temple, they'll adopt female personas and presumably wear the same armour.
