>>
>>52655348

Know what boundries not to overstep or, at the very least, when it's worth it to do so. If you're an incovience big enough to be noticed then the PC will leverage it's might against you and the Night Cartel and 9 Lives are not going to stick their necks out for you if you fuck up badly enough and may even turn you in themselves if it helps them.

The second is how you work the people around you. Are you friendly and squeeze lightly when needed or do you put the hammer to the nail? Doing both is needed but knowing when is key.

Finally, I'd say never deal with Titan shit but credits is credits.

Do you let your PCs own businesses? I've been thinking about the idea of having PCs who have several such occupations of their (one being a celebrity chef and another being a founding member of a biker racing league on mars)
>>
>>52658381

I mean, Entrepreneur is a trait so I see no real reason NOT to let players be business people. There's also the actual rules to make income though they're a little sketchy. And I believe several homebrew traits to represent just being rich.

So I guess the question becomes "do you have a reason not to let them own a business?"
>>
>>52658545

Very true, I mean, it's no like you have to physically be present to run the business after all. You could have a beta fork do face to face meetings for you and your muse handles your scheduling.

I suppose the difficult part (not really) may be integrating the PCs business into the games. For instance, the idea I had going was my celebrity chef's main resturant being a good meeting spot for the group but it could become a target because I also intend to be a producer of narco algorithyms since their business is about trying to make one's that simulate the taste of food for synths.

So how would you guys deal with a TITAN delta that's currently housed in a biomorph? GM's got us assaulting a base where it's being used to develop cryptographic algorithms.

Current plan to destroy it is to incinerate it with something like F2O2 or ClF3, put the ashes in a box, launch the box into the sun.
>>
>>52664500
I think that's about right. Going by the intro to the movie, it looks like she's got a pod that's been grown/built as a single unit rather than having all the different muscles/organs developed separately. Add a cyberbrain and I think that's about it.

>>
>>52675401

On Mars this shouldn't be a problem, besides I would imagine they would be nomadic Rusters although I'm curious what sorts of jobs they would take. That said what do nomadic rusters do anyways?
>>
>>52675435

I mean, they're heavy in the first place. Mass matters to move off the surface - such as in a cataclysm. Also you'd need a large Ego Bridge set up.
>>
>>52675518

If you can sleeve people into fucking whales you can sleeve people into Elephants.

That said, you could always have Indian elephants who are significantly smaller than their African variants
>>
>>52675536

Suryas are made in situ around the sun, and there's only a few dozen actual Neo-Whales alive, not many of whom are actually sleeved as whales.

Also indian elephants only weigh like one ton less than an african elephant on average, that's still like 5.5 more tons to deal with.
>>
>>52675611

So then, with genesculpting and cybernetics being the norm elephants simply can't exist to walk around Mars?

>if your GM is not a retard it should ignore non-powered armor.
No, it shouldn't. Medieval plate had mail in the joints. Future armor will probably have heavy kevlar. Way better than nothing.
>>
>>52677986
It doesn't help when someone uses your own limbs as a leverage to break your elbow joint.

Kevlar and mail will stop a knife but they won't stop someone breaking your arms and legs. Neck is a little better because you can have gorjet but most armors drop it in favour of less weight and greater mobility/perception because grapple is a much smaller danger than being shot with automatic weapons.
>>
>>52678143
EP armor can easily be custom fit stuff with some smart materials. Range of motion protection for joints should be pretty easy to include.

That's also as relevant to the protection against knife attacks as protection vs firearms.
>>
Why would pods need nipples?
>>
>>52678280
Practically, they don't, but erogenous zones are a selling point for any morph less focused than a Reaper.

>EP armor can easily be custom fit stuff with some smart materials.

>>
>>52678447

Thread's a little slow today, let's do some brainstorming.

What sort of food can be prepped using makers, but still take a bit of human service to make - that is to say, is there a proper equivalent to fast food in EP? Hole in the wall food stands/shops feel like a solid genre piece, and is food blueprints can be licensed like everything else, does this make franchisement still a legit business scheme?

What do you think, are their fab noodle and kebab stands littering New Shanghai? Does the Golden Arches still rule in Elysium? What about the Burger Queen? Did Wendy's start spelling their name with an "i" to seem more modern? What other kind of foods are simplistic enough to put in a basic maker and have a bot throw them in a bowl, or a togo bag?
>>
>>52693802
>What sort of food can be prepped using makers, but still take a bit of human service to make

No such thing. Chefs are already on their way to being automated out of existence in 2017. The big obstacles are this initial investment and nonuniform ingredients.
>>
>>52693802
Most alcoholic drinks at bars. You're not there for the drinks specifically, and the atmosphere demands a bartender's presence. Sure, what you're drinking was most likely synthesized in the back room, but the final mix and serve is best done by a physical person.

Whether you're an elite hypercorp manager, a gatecrasher on downtime, or a Martian terraformer going out for the night, the bar/pub remains the best place to physically meet people and relax with friends.

How do we fix melee? It's fine if hand to hand combat is worse than guns, but currently it's worse on so many axes that it might as well not be in the game.

>less damage than guns, almost no scaling with SOM (the strongest possible person only does 4 more damage than the weakest)
>worse action economy than guns (one attack per complex action versus two)
>easier to dodge than guns (full fray vs half fray)
>no way to stack modifiers (meanwhile shooting a gun gets you a minimum of +20 for free)

Which of these should we address? How? The alternate melee damage bonus rules in Transhuman are a start, but they don't make much practical difference for most characters.

I don't think EP is trying to be that realistic.

Obviously unlocking a few more options to be viable paths, not necessarily equal or better, but just in the same league would probably be a good idea.

I would probably recommend increasing to two attacks per complex action once you get to a certain skill level, and then improving the results of critical successes.

Unless he is looking for authentic pre-Fall junk food. That's a popular revival, which bring lots of glitterati to our station, just to try again a deep friend burger. Add the health-nano-smoothie option to get rid of that additional grease you just ingested.

Are the cows fed real grass?
>>
>>52699140
Are the Extropian cows raised in a microgravity environment or are they centrifuged?
>>
>>52699642
There is little difference from earth-grown grass to the Extropian one. Just that the Extropian grass is way healthier for all.

>>52699654
Extropia has microgravity. But after being processed you won't notice the difference.
>>
>>52699676
Except grass takes space, and space on Extropia is probably about as expensive as Manhattan
>>
>>52699654

They actually have spin grav habs orbiting the rock for work that need it - gravity "grown" food is probably worth enough cash to warrant some of that. Maybe not beef that shit is space and mass intense.
>>
>>52699700
That thinking will keep you a wage slave for life. Take a few economics XPs and you will find out that while surface cost is high the per-volume cost is much more profitable. Why growing grass in the floor when you can grow it in a lattice?
>>
>>52699906
So do they have real cows or not?

How many living spaces worth of volume would it take to feed one cow?

I mean, I get the 'fuck frankenfreaks' thing, but Jovians are neocon kike-stian mulattos who barely speak English.

No way I'd ever side with them when there's plenty of actual, white, European Nazis and anarchonationalists around in Brinker habs.

Jovians are just so awful on basically every level that there really is no other answer than hyperspeed torture/execution for all of them.

You do realize that the Rhino doesn't have a monopoly on firing from the bottom cylinder right? The guy who designed it made two other revolvers that work the same way.
>>
>>52709394

Mateba designs should probably be pretty familiar to a lot of people browsing /epg/, we were gushing about the Major earlier.
>>
>>52709394

Correct. HOWEVER, it's more than that. The cylinder design is identical. So is the action design itself, the hammer action angle.

It's a Chiappa Rhino with an awkwardly upwards tilting cylinder (that'll get you killed in a combat reload so fast).
>>
>>52709394
Yeah but it also copied the hexagonal cylinder, the hammer, the grip is extremely similar, and whatever you call the part on top of the barrel is quite similar.

Is there a preferred way of dipicting the way TITANS look and '''feel'''? It sounds weird but I've kinda grown to like the idea of having TITANS be like SIVA from Destiny. Clearly obvious constructs would look sort of vaguely humaniod shape with features like pic related while full on ex-humans would be like Jack Baker when his weakspots open up but you see bundles of pic related poping out before reconfiguring itself to look normal again.

>>
>>52717076
Yes. They were thinly-veiled standins for DC's heroes. They had a Flash-Girl, the main hero was a Superman standin who kept on talking about hope, and Doctor Fate was depicted as a child who relies on trinkets (The Helmet of Fate) rather than TRUE MAGICAL KNOWLEGE like Strange (who also uses trinkets). Honestly the pettiest writing I've seen in ages.

Now there's a thought. Would future security forces be 'roided-up gorillas or delicate looking hotties?

The gorilla route is big and intimidating, which psychologically dissuades bad behavior on the principle of the 'that thing will fuck me up if I step out of line' subconscious response.

On the other, the helpful, polite secretary-looking girls walking the halls can be carrying weapons concealed in cyberlimbs, and be deceptively strong despite giving off 'that little thing isn't a threat' vibes before they suddenly start stabbing.

Which is better?

To answer your question, both of these characters are on Oversight's payroll in my game. The standard corporate rentacop remains schlubby, because that's what's being paid for and other measures would have been chosen instead if this wasn't the intended image to project. You go gorilla guerillas of whatever sort if you want to project an old-school, classical era, military masculinity sort of vibe, and put them in suits if you want to take it even further. You pick secretary furies when you want a very post-fall, dazzling, "orientalist futurism" (as the commonwealth would call it) and intrigue-suggestive vibe. That these gender coded things persist is pretty likely, but I reckon it would just be more memes to throw around at random, so the actual gender of the guards and employer hardly matters. You could just as well step into a hypercorp's live innerface annex and find yourself shadowed by enormous snarling amazons, or find yourself gunned down by the shredders installed in the errand boys' arms.
>>
>>52726594

Really depends on your message - memetics and optics are really important in the Transhuman future. >>52726831 hit most of it.

Sleek, high tech morphs which combine feminine aspects of beauty or sexuality with mind boggling destructive capability sends a different message than say, the unlimited waves of guys with muscles one size too large for their one size too small suits, complete with wrap-around Specs and anti-shockwave earplugs.

Then there's the third axis, using synths which resemble light combat vehicles or drones more than humans, covered in visible guns - still wearing the craters and scratches from where the last 50 attempts to try and take them out failed.
>>
>>52726594
Both are situational
>>
>>52726943
>unlimited waves of guys with muscles one size too large for their one size too small suits, complete with wrap-around Specs and anti-shockwave earplugs.
Moonies use these to suppress case riots, call 'em Mibs. The clankers don't want to break them because they want flesh so fucking bad they'd rather get their lot drawn to sleeve up in a Mib rush themselves.
