In 5e it's the 50 goblins by a long shot. The orcs probably won't even hit that much harder than the goblins, and if you kill one you just took out 20% of their fighting strength. Whereas even a level 20 fighter with Great Weapon Master can hope to kill at most 5 goblins in a single round. Plus 5e goblins are sneaky assholes who can hide and disengage as a bonus action so they could play hit and run.

Sure, they both might both be angry, out for blood. Sure the orcs might have muscle, weapons, and armor, but the goblins have numbers, action economy, and most of all, they've got the Tucker's Kobolds factor. You can bet your ass they're all conniving bastards.

Giving Goblin Slayer some credit, the author does do a good job of making Goblins a Credible, Valid threat.

'Squad' somewhat implies some experience- chances are the Orcs know how to devastate a target unless they're riddled with flaws.

The Goblins have sheer numbers, but chances are they have the shakiest morale of the two.

You could literally run this via the Volo's Orc race. Make 5 fighters (or fighter barbarians) of medium-low level, and put them up against 50 goblins.
