It's called Mithridatism, and it doesn't work for heavy metals (like arsenic or mercury), because those are things your body can't dispose of so it puts them in your liver- which also can't dispose of them, but can store some of them. For a while. So you can't build up a tolerance by sampling them repeatedly because the thing that's killing you is them building up.

They are *VANISHINGLY* rare - like, the chance that you'll encounter multiple Plat. King Jewels and crit every one of them multiple times in two hours is probably more likely.
A Co-op de Grace is made available when 4 Coup de Graces are available. Then, when everyone's on Follow Orders, you can select "Co-op de Grace" (also gives you the choice of a normal Coup de Grace), which uses the entire turn (IIRC) and consumes all 4 Coup de Graces. They do amazing things like:
>boost everyone's tension to 100
>everyone is invulnerable for a few turns
>turn enemies into metal enemies (probably doesn't affect bosses, never got the chance to check)
>deal goddamn MASSIVE damage
There's ways to increase the chance that you'll trigger a Coup de Grace to make it more likely (low health and other teammates having theirs up are the only 2 I recall), but it's still ridiculously unlikely, especially because the moment passes after only a few turns.
