Party is going to get dropped in hell - or to be more accurate, in the Gray Waste. One of them is a herbalist, and I thought I'd simultaneously flesh out the world they're in and drop her a bone by throwing some weird planar plants, herbs, and roots for her to pick up.
What manner of weird shit would grow in a gray, dusty, lifeless hellscape ruled by night hags? What sort of strange properties and applications could they have?

Shit worthy of making actual magical potions from. Probably bizarre nightmares and emotionlessness.
If your system of choice already allows creating magic potions, though?
Stronger potions.
You can base some on the seven deadly sins.

Sloth or gluttony?
Plants that detach mobile roots/seeds, which would have to be caught.

Why not both?

I tossed some mushrooms into a game with magical effects based on local themes. Could be used to boost spells that fell in their theme, or eaten to inflict effects upon the consumer.
Illusion - eating this causes your worst fears/biggest fantasies to become partly real around you and be inflicted upon you for up to an hour
Fire - eater becomes constantly overheated and emotional, operates almost entirely on anger and passion for an hour
Urban - consumer becomes a cog in the machine, following whatever 'role' they best appear to fit, from obedient worker to threatening but not actually criminal punk to city leader doing the best they can for their town
And that's all so far, making up more as we go.

Plants can be useful if you're a wizard. They get powers from hell all the time.
