Mimic Shape (Ex)
A mimic can assume the general shape of any object that fills roughly 150 cubic feet (5 feet by 5 feet by 6 feet), such as a massive chest, a stout bed, or a wide door frame. The creature cannot substantially alter its size, though. A mimic’s body is hard and has a rough texture, no matter what appearance it might present. Anyone who examines the mimic can detect the ruse with a successful Spot check opposed by the mimic’s Disguise check. Of course, by this time it is generally far too late.

Learning Transform also gives you the Shapeshifter capability, which lets Ditto disguise itself as whatever it wants without changing its abilities.

Basically it's more for utility than combat. You can improve its stats with Underdog, though that relies on transforming into something where your stats will be useful. I guess you could use it in Double Battles alongside an ally with Belly Drum?

Not just weaker, but most of the time completely awful. PTU's system (and Pokemon overall but especially PTU) rewards minmaxing to the extreme, so if you turn your Ditto into an Eelektross or a Shuckle when you statted it as a physical sweeper, you're just fucked.
