Since when? Certainly not in Rise of Tiamat, since if Tiamat is summoned to the Prime but defeated, she is expressly described as being dragged back to Nessus. One of her abilities is even "discorporation".

Not even during the Time of Troubles. Bane, Bhaal, and Myrkul all died, but all of them came back, Bane at the very start of 3rd Edition, Bhaal during the uncomfortable period between 4th and 5th, and Myrkul with 5th.

Where are you getting this information from? It doesn't hold up to scrutiny.

However, I'm honestly struggling to think of times when this was true in and of itself. Every dead got that is still dead in the Realms, that I know of, is only still dead due to special circumstances around their death. It wasn't simply that they happened to be located on Faerûn at the time of death.

For example, the Time of Troubles had a number of gods die while they were on Faerûn, but their deaths had nothing to do with their location - it was because Lord Ao had specifically made them motals (albeit powerful ones). Hell, Moander wasn't even on Faerûn when he died, he was in his own personal Abyssal demiplane.

Then there's the second part of what the Anon claimed, "forever". For a lot of gods who have died on Faerûn, however, their deaths didn't "stick". The Time of Troubles, for example, killed off Bane, Bhaal, Gilgeam, Herne (who wasn't even a deity in his own right, but an avatar of Malar which Malar simply reclaimed), Ibrandul, Moander, Myrkul, Mystra, Ramman, Tiamat, The Red Knight, and Torm.

- Bane came back by exploding out of his son, Iyachtu Xvim
- Bhaal had his Score of Mortal Progeny, and the death of the last two, Viekang and Abdel, resulted in his return.
- Myrkul's power was sealed in the Crown of Horns, and he has returned as of 5e through means unknown
- Torm was brought back by Lord Ao himself almost immediately after the Time of Troubles
- Mystra's power was invested into Midnight, who then became a gestalt Mystra.
- Tiamat is...complicated. Suffice to say that she died but then got better.
- Gilgeam was resurrected during/because of the Spellplague and is back.

Can you name an instance of a god dying whilst on Faerûn BECAUSE they were on Faerûn, and not due to some outside circumstance like the Time of Troubles? And then that god STAYING dead?
