Why was Horus the favorite of the Emperor? He wasn't the strongest, Angron, Russ, Magnus or Sanguinius was. He wasn't the smartest, Gulliman, or Perturabo were. He wasn't the most magical, Magnus, Lorgar or Russ was. He wasn't the most loyal obviously... Why was Horus chosen as the warmaster?

Closest to a true clone of the Emperor rather than all the mutants that became the other primarchs.

False. Fabulous Bill said that Rogal Dorn was "closest to the source"

Horus wasn't the absolute best at anything but he was well rounded and beloved by all his peers (with the exception of Corax).
>>52525137
Corax was based, Russ should have let him kill Horus when he had the chance
Emps found Horus first and hung out with him for the longest back when the Crusade started. So by default, he trusted Horus with more than the others. Combined with the fact that Horus was pretty competent in general, it adds up.
It'd probably have been Dorn or Guilliman or whoever else competent Primarch was around if they got found like 20 years before any other.

>Trusting Bile's opinion on anything

>locks himself in his room, quotes Edgar Allen Poe, and kills himself like an edgy emo faggot
Corax is the least based loyalist.

>Not trusting the 2nd best scientist in 40k

he was the most charismatic of them all, and most beloved by his fellow legion astartes. Horus was one of the few Primarchs during his loyalty that almost anyone could approach and he would welcome with open arms and hear their voice. He had the power to calm a room or rally any one behind his banner. It was because of this, the emperor favored him most of all because he saw a true leader.

Why would Bile lie when he claims that Dorn's genome is closest to the Emperor? He's not Fulgrim, lying serves him no purpose.
>>52524978
Horus was found first.
Firstborn complex.

Short answer?
Because while you're sitting here talking up how this Primarch or that Primarch had 21 in this Horus just had 20's in every stat and his brothers didn't.

>Russ
>cunning
He was Angron lite.
>>52527253
Ah, but now you see the true extent of his cunning. For who would guard themselves against the wiles of Angron, or even admit that they were caught unawares by his design?
pic related, accurate depiction of Horus' stats.

Where/when did he say that? I don't remember it from anything I've read offhand.
>>52524978
He was the only unqualified good one who wasn't at least a little autistic. More personable than Rogal or Rouboute, certainly.
