I don't have a problem with PrCs, just with having seven different goddamn classes.

PrCs are really cool, and allow for greater specialization while having more creative freedom outside of archetypes, as well as the results being potentially different depending on the class you entered from.

A lot of overly specific classes should probably be PrCs, if I'm honest. Dread comes to mind. "I'm Scary" is a poor thing to try and stretch for 20 levels.

So, I recently got back in touch with a few friends and they've got a Serpent's Skull game running that I was a part of way back in the day before it went on hiatus.
I've decided to join in again, at lvl 11.

Only rules were no 3rd party books and no gestalt shit.

Was thinking of making a Ninja2/Enlightened Paladin 8 with a free level that I can put into anything.
Picking up Vanishing Trick aswell.

Thinking of getting following feats;

Might pick up another in case I go human but unsure yet.

+4 belt 16k
+2 holy wakizashi + reliquary weapon 36750
+2 cloak of resistance 4000

Still have 6k to use.

I want to play a Magical Girl-esque thats a mix of Utena(use of a rapier) and more traditional magical girl abilities,and am trying to decide between a Warlock Vigilante or a Magus, leaning more towards Magus since the warlock blasts scale like garbage unless you put a lot of focus into them. Is that a good choice? Are there any Magus Archetypes that would fit the bill more than vanilla?

Have you looked at the Paragon system from Worlds of Power?

I've never used it myself, but I've heard it brought up before.

It's like ABP, except there's no attunement bullshit and you just get a Paragon Bonus to hitting, damage, ac, saves... all the shit the game assumes you'll have.

So rather than fiddling about with weapon values, a higher level guy is just more accurate and hits harder with all his attacks.

So a weapon doesn't need generic +1s. It's just a Flaming Longsword or a Keen Scimitar. All the pluses are on the characters.

Well it's designed for use with Spheres of Power, so they need less of a leg up anyway. And it does give them CL bonuses as if they had staves too, so it's nice for everyone.

The stat bonuses replacing belts and headbands help martials more though, since at a number of levels it's just 'pick mental or physical, get +1 to all of them', and martials are more likely to be making USE of all of those stats, whereas a caster would normally just buy a +6 headband of casting stat and call it good.

Question on that armor stuff for shardwalkers: What happens with classes that are proficient in their own generated armors, like the Aegis that's "light" always, but also in the heavy armor it generates?

And does a class-ability-generated thing that gives shield bonuses (like soulknives and I'm sure some other classes can do) a shield that shuts you down? or do - by creating and being proficient with it - you get the benefits but only with the specific ones you create (so the aegis only has light armor prescience normally but can switch to STR when going all juggernaut-plate)?
