In the original D&D books, Strength was aptitude towards being a Fighting-Man.
(That's learning more from less training, but it's also accomplishing more with less mastery.)
What a FM should be mechanically good at is fully encompassed *by* the FM class.
So to represent being a better FM even with less training, Strength *only* makes you a better FM with less training.
That means better to-hit chance. That means more attacks/round. That means more no. Etc. Etc.
Or rather, all it does is give FM bonus xp.
As a corollary: if you aren't a FM, Strength is completely useless.
Constitution is an abstract summary of all aspects of physique that have use to Magic-Users, rather than being strictly helpful to Fighting-Man.Not mentioning Clerics since they were a last minute addition to D&D, and because they slightly obfuscate this explanation (and many explanations of other concepts as well).

>What do you think is consitution is?
There are a few possibilities tied to this shambles of a sentence.
First is that you're asking about the dude pictured's constitution score, in which case it's probably average to slightly above average, 10 to 14 or so. Bodybuilders need higher constitution due to certain practices such as dehydrating, where you dehydrate yourself to more easily show your muscles, and not suffer long or short term damage.
The other is what constitution is, in which case it's the measure of your bodies healthiness and ability to stave off foreign elements. It contributes to resisting disease, poison, and certain magics that change your body. It also contributes to your HP, showing how much damage it can withstand. Stamina and how long you can perform physical actions are also based on Constitution.
