How many neck vertebrae does a dragon have?
>>
The skeletal structure of dragons are very reminiscent of other vertebrates, so they have seven. At least, the traditional dragon. Don't know about those long snaky dragon fucks.

Lizards tend to have eight, with seven you think of mammals. Amphibians and snakes only have one.

7 or 8 seems about right. Giraffes have a really wide range of movement with only 7 vertebrae.
>>
It depends on the neck length. Longer necked creatures, like Sauropods, had up to twelve neck vertebrae. Today, Giraffes and humans have seven (Giraffes have really long vertebrae). So, if it's one of those Chinese dragons, most likely up to twelve vertebrae in the neck.

I got the reference.

A more important question is how the fuck do the wings on 6-limbed dragons even work. Mechanically for their muscles and bones to work, would they need 2 sets of pectoral muscles, what would those be attached to, wouldnt it get in the way of the ribcage and internal organs, etc.

I really read this is as how many neckbeards does a dragon have.

There is no way that motherfucker can fly with those high wing joints and tiny ass core muscles,

And why the fuck are its hind legs so damn beefy when its feet aren't even shaped for snatching prey?

And that tail looks more suited towards balancing on the ground than stabilizing during flight.

Birds, on the other hand, have quite a few more. Hawks, eagles, and raptors, for example, have 14 neck vertebrae.

As aerial hunters, I imagine dragons would be built more like birds of prey than terrestrial lizards.

Because smart-ass dragons in that setting body purportions are based on big cats.
>>
>>52465105
Dragons are naturally magical beings. They can fly because they fucking want to and most ones that arent newborns can just give physics the middle finger. Because magic. Case in point: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dp7gm_mRA4Q

>wings
>literally no core muscles to pull on-
