Hey /tg/ im running a 7E Nexo Knight army. Most of my army consists of cannon fodder or light vehicles. Anyone got any advice on what to get?

You need at least one of the battle suit heros that function as both a vehicle and hero if you want to win tourneys, I recommend Macy for her support abilities. Steer clear of Lance, he's terrible.

Can't hear any of you over the sound of all this ANIME, HIYAAAAAAAAAAA!

But seriously, look at your little dinky boats and cars, and compare them to the majesty of my superior mecha. I mean, you can't even compare, can you? Get wrecked, Exo-Force is the best expansion to the game, and has two UNIQUE factions to it. if your mad, your just jealous you can't field at least three Golden Guardian mechs at once.

Walls.
The meta is all about walls and building them.
Every top teir faction is about building or destroying walls.

Rock Raiders are pro because EVERYFUCKING THING THEY HAVE CAN BREAK WALLS.
Classic Knights are the other top teir because Castle Walls are almost indestructible.

Luckily I play pic related.
So I don't care about walls. Just transform YOUR infantry into MY infanty.

>>
>>52405022
Yeah but how do you handle pic related.
A wizard + Dragon combo will be fast and super breaky. The only counter to dragons + Wizards are walls and large numbers of elite ground troops.
>>
>>52405028
Nigga, you say that shit is like ONE fortification, when that ONE fortification is fuck huge. I mean, you do have to field it ALL as one, so it eats points like a mother fucker, but that shit includes:
>Gate Assault
>Sentai HQ
>Golden Tower

Not to mention bullshit like the devastator tank, which not only barfs out ranged infantry drones, but than shits all over light and medium infantry with gatling guns and disk launchers. Its bullshit, man.
>>
>>52405097
But it's too expensive.
Rock Raiders will tear down the walls.
Knights will turtle and kill anything you send there way with Knights.
Johnny Thunder and Alpha Team have enough gimmicks to find a work around.
Ice Planets would have a hard time as would Aqua Raiders, but they always ally with Rock Raiders.

Alright Chuckle fuckers, sit down and listen up, cause' your about to hear why I don't shed a single tear for you Time Cruiser faggots. Let me sum it up in one phrase:
Paradox

Time Cruisers were such fucking bullshit
>It didn't matter that you only had 4 infantry/hero's, since Paradox let you have as many as you fucking wanted, to represent them teaming up across time
>It didn't matter what armor save you had, since they could bypass it by attacking you backwards in time
>They could RE-TAKE THEIR WHOLE FUCKING turn, if they didn't like how things were going
>They move units back and forth across the table, by "rewinding" shit
>They fucking dash forward by "Speeding up" time
>When ever you tried to break down that mother fucking time lab of theirs, they could just rebuild it the next fucking turn, plus it let them spawn in more Heros
>FUCKING MONKEY SPAM BULLSHIT
>Every unit has counts as flying, due to time wimey bullshit
>They could litterally AGE your shit mid-game, making your units use old crappy weapons, while they get to "Steal" the good ones from the future. Try killing the bastards when they've got Storm-trooper cap guns, and you have FUCKING MUSKETS
>Meanwhile, they fucking shat all over your tanks, because they replaced their tracks with wheels, while they fly about in their Flying ship

And OF FUCKING COURSE, they get a fucking expansion through the Doctor Who faction, since he can be taken as a hero in any Time Cruisers army.

What absolute bullshit, you fuckers.

Also you forgot about the Wizard friendo!
Everyone forgets about the Wizard! Your missiles will do nothing while he's in the castle and he can cast buff spells for days! Days!
A Magic buffed Dragon would pass entrapment test easy. Plus the fun part of the dragon is its stupid cheap. I still have points for catapults.

Its nothing against Exo's their a great faction but Lego just gives Medieval more support than anyone else. Medieval has a solution to everything and always has some new castle or catapult thats cheaper and stronger than the last. It really hurts the meta honestly.

But you beat me most days. I can only run so many mutant fish to deal with your big mechs.

Well, duh dude. In a meta filled with cheesy tilting army comps, Ice Planet smashed the Meta by simply at being so good, yet being so simple. You may not like it, but this is what the ideal minifig looks like. Just bought the Lynchin' Pete and Two-guns Malone kit, added to my Redskin tribe abd went 4-0-0 on Saturday against 2 exo-meme armies, one Galidor glinch spam, and a Basketball dunk-tech mess. Feels good, man.

Nesquick is the only hero that EVERY army can take. While he isnt powerful on his own he can provide very op buffs to anybody on your side. Plus if you take the expendable fans as an upgrade then he can have a couple of mooks who can charge againist any enemy and force them in CC which is helpful againist range focused armys

Don't listen to these mother fuckers; they are simply too WEAK to follow you!

Fire Nation is a bad faction, they say?

WELL THAT CHANGED WHEN THE FIRE NATION INVADED

Get 3 Fire Nation Iron Clads
Take Prince Zuko, stick him on the command ledge
Load up each Iron Clad with 20 Fire benders
Proceed to plow down the field, burning the fuck out of everything with your d6 attacks PER model.

Remember, the Iron Clad is a pretty durable vehicle on its own, but the fact that embarked units can still attack AND it can ram into fortifications makes it utterly broken.

Or, be a cheesy faggo and take 3 Avatar State Aangs. If you do this, be careful: If one dies, it turns into Korra And kills off the rest of the avatars :^)
>>
>>52406659
>Who would want to play an army of "space marines"? That sounds fucking awful.
You don't. You take them as an elite troop choice in a couple of the space armies. They're best in classic space, as that army was lacking a good elite choice before the Space Marines release.

>>
>>52406744
I mean, yeah, your right. I won't deny it, Fire Nation is a really shit faction. But, they can pull off some wins if they really get lucky, and get the ball rolling. Due to the FAQ manual, if any two fortifications from two separate factions collide, the one being moved into is damaged.

This is actually a HUGE buff to the Fire Clads, because they are one of the few "Vehicle fortifications" In the game, and not a Dreadnought, it means they still count as a moving fortification.

Also, I've seen some builds where Aang and Katara are thrown in, and I think they might actually help quite a bit. Katara adds 1d12 inch movement to all watercraft she boards, and Aang gives any vehicle he enters a 5++ save. Not amazing, I know, and its expensive as fuck, but it can still work occasionally.

Simple: Don't play Bionicle fags. LW has made it EXCESSIVELY clear, that, despite sharing a system, and having a "official" codex (and by codex, I mean the fucking pamphlet from the Lego Fanclub Magazine), Bionicles are far beyond anything your typical Lego Faction can deal. The only one with any hope of beating them is Medieval Wall spam, OTC(Orange Transparent Chainsaw) spam, and some of the wonkier factions like Time Cruisers, Technic or the fuckbois over here. Do not engage.

Or, if you must, I hear the pirates are getting some kind of new, weird Pirate-robot guy. But until than, spam shit loads of Cannons and Crocs. Can't go wrong with that m8.

You are still losing to classic Ice Planet build, which speaks volume. I bring a Celestial Sled spam and one Deep Freeze Defender and you are done. All those mechs dies in two turn from the amount of fully-supported firepower my DFD can bring in. You can't melee me unless you somehow think sending 4-6 gold katanas against 25+ orange glowing chainsaw is a good idea. And I swear every single Noob-Knight player forgets the DFD is actually 3 ships, so it gets 3 rolls each time against the Spider's shit web.

Bring that huge ass base. I dare you. Pick related, supported by only half my Sled spam will wreck it in an instant.

1906 Majistos Tower

6090 Royal Knights Castle

Those are just the ones the boxes or instructions were in with the bins amongst the bricks. I remember Majisto being solid, but that early 2000s. Any UFO players in here? Scrubs can't handle my interstellar starfighter flyers list.
>>
I kinda want to get this mentality out that having a single Golden Guardian is "OP". It's not. They're the Exo-force's TEQ (Tie Fighter equivalent). It's fair if they can have one if you bring some Tie Fighters or an AT-AT. If they bring multiple and in the Wing, then yes that is pretty cheesy.
Also Shadow Crawlers are shit. They're just expendable meatshields. Having a whole army oriented around them would be incredibly boring. If Exo-Force auxiliaries had the same love that Skeletons did then that would be fine.
A "fun" army to play against is something that tries to bring all the neat units into the battle in a combined arms fashion. Not just spamming any one single unit. A good Exo-Force player would know that some well supported fire warrior unit is a cheaper and arguably better source of anti infantry fire power than the other units.
I'm so tired of hearing non Tau players complain about "muh Battlesuits or muh Riptides" They're there in the codex, they have a purpose, just like the FWs.source then any of the battle suits. Just because you get butthurt at the cheesemongers doesn't mean that the other Tau players have to stop using a particular unit. Quit bitching.

I wish. They were advertized as being anti-wall, but all the dinos have such low initiative, the walls end up slowing them down to much, even if they can punch through some sections.

The only dinos with half-decent initiative are the Velociraptors, but they only have Strength 5 on the charge and can't realistically get through anything tougher than a fence. Interestingly enough, their slashing-claw rule lets them count as Infantry instead of beasts in CC, so they can technically do shit like open doors even though they're beasts. I think this was just a developer oversight and that it'll be errata'd out eventually.

Nope! Full initiative, models not in base-to-base can still attack, and their weapons count as manufactured instead of natural (though they still can't be sundered or disarmed).

they're giant battering rams, don't focus on the walls, just smash through and either they focus it and take fire off your 'vees and ground teams or you circle around them to their flanks and your giant dinos can fuck shit up once they get through the wall into the backline
>>
>>52411217
Thanks man! At a glance it looks like I can do something really solid with this. The modern stuff has good ranged infantry and since raptors are infantry they get a solid melee infantry. Tacked on with fast vehicles and plenty of options to transport heavy dinos from the old set (the stats for the rex is way better in the old set but the modern stuff has tougher transports) I should have a solid offence base. Since their walls are really cheap I can put together a really solid defence too. Thanks again anon, it's finally time to retire my old insectoids.

>Can dino attack be combined with the other dino sets?

Adventures, Studios, Dino, Dino Attack, and Dino 2010 can all be combined with no real problems (although the scale creep from Adventures/Studios to Dino Attack is insane). They claim that JP/JW can be combined, but shit gets broken really quick and the scale is even more out of whack. There's one fag at my LLS who constantly fields an army that's at least 60% JW and throws a fit every time someone calls him out on exploiting combination squad rules.

Basically, JP/JW was designed as a standalone in its own meta, but executive meddling ensured that it had to fit in with everything else, even though it's about as broken as SW.
>>
>>52411368
Do microraptors still count as infantry though? Because using raptors as infantry is abusing the rules as written and let's them do things like fast deploy from helicopters or man vehicles.

Microraptors are a great suggestion though, since they are small they can move through other infantry... can you imagine the look on my oppoenets face when I deploy half my points in microraptors behind their walls in 2 turns? Holy shit.

All I want from studio is the riverboat in the event that terrain has water. The water dinos are good and all but they cant transport shit.
>>
>>52411447
Microraptors don't count as infantry because they're swarms; it's just Velociraptors who count.
It doesn't really matter though, since Microraptors aren't that good anyway. They're only Toughness 2 Leadership 6 and only really have one turn to do damage before they get trampled underfoot. Okay against stationary Artillery, trash against everything else.
>>
>>52411447
>Do microraptors still count as infantry though? Because using raptors as infantry is abusing the rules as written
How is it abusing the rules? They're tiny little raptors. Having them be infantry makes sense. It's not abuse. They're not really that good as far as dinos go, they're good because they have a low points cost, can move through infantry, and are really cheap for A3/4 slashing claw assault infantry, of course coming at the advantage of garbage toughness, strength, and no armor save.
Don't sweat the rules abuse, there are way more broken units out there, like >>52411423 mentioned regarding JP/JW units. Just fluff it as them using their feather wings to jump out the back of the helicopter.
And, of course, there are better units to use small dino slots on, so they're used better with special rules that like the dino control module that free up points for wargear on large dinos

>The water dinos are good and all but they cant transport shit.

There was a limited-edition line that you might be interested in. Pic related.

Also, this is a little out of left field, but if you're focusing on water-based units, the Ultra Agents had a jumbo shark (there's a zombie version in the new Pirates codex) that counts as a one-man boat. It keeps the shark's base movement; you just can't move and attack during the same turn unless you disembark first, in which case both pilot AND shark get to attack.

If you're not playing an official tourney, you can probably get away with using it as a counts-as megalodon and field it alongside land-based dinos.

That or the Mega-Core Deathray Company formation. Use four Mega-Core Magnetizer. They can form two two mobifort squadrons with M-techs when in the formation, plus they get to re-roll armor pen when within 6 inches of each other. You'll need good infantry support though because most of your points will be in locked in anti-vehicle tanks. Don't let the AT-ATs get close to disembark, and bam, the biggest threat is down and you can mop up the lighter walkers with concentrated fire from the large blast shot ammo on the magnetizers, since you won't need the increased strength and pen of the beams once the AT-ATs are down.

Then wouldnt batman be op as well? He has about 8 versions of him with another 4 versions in the booster packs. All the batmen and sidekicks count as heros and he has about 5+ Armor Save. He also has a ton of vehicles with even more villians, He is literally the definition of op

when you don't have enough infantry characters to make a full comp, you have an underdeveloped army. Not your fault though, they didn't make many spammable units.

Who here LEGORP?

The Amazon modules were usually good delves even if they didn't have the continuity that the Egypt campaign had.

>j-j-just ignore the chefbot buffs and fact that it seats five hero characters, then i-it's crappy, really

M-Tron is amazing, but clinging to old things and hating new things just because you were younger and more impressionable when they were released is dumb.

Besides, Nexo is the spiritual successor to Ice Planet and you should hope and pray that nobody ever fields a combo Nexorange Transparent Chainsaw squad at your precious magnetfags.

>spiritual successor to ice planet
you take that the fuck back, nexo is a cheap cashgrab for nostalgia. Congrats on your overpriced units. Cause when they come with free buffs at 400 with wargear, it's ok because the special character buffs are free, right?
I'm lmaoing right now
any competent mtron player isn't going to field an entire squad of magnets vs an ice army anyway
>>
>>52412457
Fire Vultures come with Jump Packs for free, so you got an extra 40 points free. If you take away the Hydra Missiles from your one sentry Squad, you could buy another Iron Drone for the gate. That, or upgrade out the Sonic Phantom more.
>>
>>52412559
>Fire Vultures come with Jump Packs for free
oh that explains a lot
I was looking at the wargear section and didn't look at the individual profiles
Without Hydra missiles though I won't have any anti-vehicle infantry. I'd probably use the extra forty points to get another iron drone. Sonic Phantom's aren't worth upgrading since they the extra heavy plasma cannon's won't end up doing much more for their worth over the heavy blaster
>>52412333
they just need to update m-tron rather than make new armies
>>
>>52412457
Iron Condors and Fire Vultures don't have to buy jump packs, they can take them for free. Other mechs have to take the 20 point jump point wargear
>>
>>52412634
Remember the Sonic Phantom can fire three weapons per phase, so not taking two heavy plasma wastes those shots. Also, it has spitfire, which is why its a bit pricy, so upgrading it more pays back alot.
>>
>>52412686
>it has spitfire
I don't have my codex with me, what exactly does this do? I'm making this list at work for a game I have later today. I was wondering why they were so pricy in the armybuilder
>>
>>52412754
Ahh I misspelled it. spLitfire. My bad
basically it means you can fire your heavy blaster at something in the front arc, but the Plasmas on the side have 270 arcs, and can fire at different targets. It makes them amazing for either laying a ton of firepower on one big thing, or into lots of little things. Last years championship was won by an exforce list using 3 Phantoms, a bunch of small sentry squads and a striking venom to buff them all up and maintain a ground presence.

For little more than 100 more points than a Thunder Fury, you get twice as much firepower, 3 more points of armor, splitfire, and all the bonuses that come from fielding the Golden Robot (most notably, immunity to hacking rolls for your whole army as long as he's alive)

And that's before any upgrades. People will say the Bridge Walker is cheese but it's not.

The Hook is stupid broken. He only gets one attack with it but it totally cripples anything he hits.
Ogel doesn't really need weapons anyway. He's an absolute tank. He has probably one of the best saves in the game and it's rollable.
Plus he gives his save to any vehicle you put him in. He's the king of surviving certain doom.

You might be thinking you want to put him in the Orb Scorpion but you actually want to go with the Mutant Squid. The Squid is fragile normally but it deals a lot of damage. With Ogel the Squid is brutal.

Plus Ogel turns all Orbs from small blast to large blast and gives Skeleton Drones rerolls so you'll be fine even if you take him with one of the small fast personal transports.

Anon, it's time for you to get woke:
https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=40933

It's still about $250 as a complete set but if you're willing to take the time to learn how to navigate Bricklink, or at least lurk in the Lego General on >>>/toy/ until you know how to use the site, you can probably assemble one more cheaply by buying it piecemeal from several different sellers.
>>
>>52414297
There's no way they're going to give you any better elite ranged infantry. Your faction is already the king of anti-fortification play, can't you be happy with that?
>>
>>52414420
Holy shit, that's almost reasonable.
And parts buy would allow multiples to be built fairly easily, seeing as most parts aren't unique or anything
>>
>>52407005
Ooh, nice. Haven't seen an Ogel build in a while but this seems pretty viable.
Might want to replace some of your Rogue Knight Minions with Lava Monsters from the first edition Nexo Knights expansion. They're archetype compatible and the fire damage and speed more than makes up for the lack of armor.
I suppose some people dislike them for not being "classic Castle", but I assume you don't care about that since you're fielding Vladek.

>Losing to Friends turtling this hard.
Seriously? Were none of the Nexo players fielding Lavaria? It's incredibly easy to get her into a house with her infiltration ability, and that's ignoring Friends units' inherently terrible detection stats. Then you just have her drop the book of monsters (or if you're poor, the book of chaos) and the entire BBQ goes to pieces.
Sometimes the only way to beat waifus is with more waifus.
>>

>>
>>52414645
>And parts buy would allow multiples to be built fairly easily, seeing as most parts aren't unique or anything
Complete sets are almost always more expensive than buying them piecemeal because you're paying for convenience. There's an easy way to use Bricklink to divide out a set's components and have the site show you the minimum number of stores you'll need to buy from to get it all in the most efficient manner.

If you just ask in the Lego General someone will be able to walk you through it.

It's also worth noting that Dino 2010 sets are a lot cheaper points-wise because the dinos themselves aren't treated as allies. It's a bit of a pain in the ass, but if you cage a T-Rex early game and then helicopter-drop it behind one of your opponent's walls, it'll tear through their troops and fortifications for you since it attacks the closest non-dino unit. It's pretty risky but the look on the other player's face if you pull it off is worth it.
