Hi /tg/ /pol/tard here, old player and narrator with a severe case of nostalgia.

Never understood the "You loose" thing. I've seen it come up in a few Setting vs Setting threads over the years, but never understood why, just kind of accepted it.
But seriously what and why? In detail if you please.

It hails back to (power)gaming mindset of "if it has statblock it can be killed" - perhaps in unlikely and overly convoluted way, but players are to prone to finding those. Hell, some might take it as a challenge.
Hence when you want something players are really not supposed to beat, you don't give it crazy high stats, you don't give it stats at all.
Besides Caine another common example is Lady of Pain (guardian of The Sigil).

Yes but aside from the Lady's origins the setting does explain WHAT she does to people, and how, and a huge assortment of hinting at things she is linked to if one reads the adventures.
Like happens "In Lore" should you fight, or not-fight or whatever, Caine?

No, you're never supposed to fight Caine head on. Hell, you're not supposed to get anywhere near him.
Some of the possible Gehenna scenarios / theories do result in his True Death, but all of them would be more of an assisted suicide than anything close to his defeat.

Some book says if you absolutley need stats for Cain for whatever reason, he has full dots in all disciplines and rolls as many successes as he wants every time he rolls, and if something cares about his actual stat value that's as high as he wants it too.

It was typical White Wolf bullshit. Entire setting on rails, the whole plot merely a vehicle for their in-house made characters. It was fanfiction with stat blocks and little else.
In conclusion, Samuel Haight.
