Is the Fallen aren't traitors, would they be more along the lines of renegades considering the schism between the Lion and Luther?

I imagine hosting the Death Guard went. Yeah we will go traitors. before they realize that they are hosting disease infested chaos worshipers.
>>
>>52356201
The grey line between Traitor and Loyalist seems rather cut and dry. You either go full retard for the chaos gods or you don't. Where you most likely remain loyalist because of the scary dark things in the galaxy.

I like to think so as well, there's lots of room for creative conversions and fluff, especially in the types of interactions the force can have with the galaxy at large. Bartering with Aliens, discovering lots technology and... NOT destroying it because tainted AI or what have you.

You could push the narrative into some unknown waters you could.

Warders of Rhython are a special reserve unit of Custodes that showed up in Inferno and were super mysterious. Like them being made part of the Censure host was a huge deal.

Apparently they're super intense because a basic one held a block by himself on Prospero for hours against hundreds.

For what army? You have a troops choice that, while fearless, will die to bolters and has the hitting power of a wet noodle. You then have a t6 unit thats predominantly 4+, but hits infantry like a truck, and presumably that unit has a big fat scorpion sitting ready to damage primarchs and such. It would have its uses as an extra scoring unit and a slow counterattack unit, but the only time i see it being useful is if you have either a gunline that needs an interceptor to stop stuff like firedrakes, or a hyper-offensive assault list that wants a powerful character getting at the flanks of an enemy. Whats your list that its allying to?

Reading Parh of Heaven after finishing Scars (poor Shiban, maimed for saving generic mortal female character #438514).

Mortarion has gone from utter refusal to allow the use of sorcery in any way, shape, or form in Scars and A Thousand Sons to begrudgingly devouring a lifetime's education in sorcery ASAP in Path Of Heaven.

What triggered this change in perspective? How'd it happen? What books should I read to understand a bit more?

I read the opening trilogy but stopped reading Eisenstein after because I thought it kinda sucked. I know that's the origin or Grulgor, though. I kinda know about him in general - he basically becomes a daemonic version of the life eater virus doesn't he? Does that have anything to do with it?

Where the fuck is Typhon/us and WTF is he doing?
>>
>>52359117
Honestly, i would say avoid it, as A) it adds very little you need, to the point of useless bloat, since once he's on the board he's just gonna have everything ever run away from him, unless you bring both him and horus to herd the enemy together which is insane overkill, B) it isnt fluffy at all to have the lord of Xana aiding SoH, and SoH dislike receiving aid anyway, and C) you're just taking scoria for a cheaper primarch-level character, which is just bleh.

Consider, if you insist on running with it anyway, bulking it out with more vorax and another unit of thralls. Thralls get surprisingly tough with FnP and 4+, and make acceptable backfield objective holders and/or tarpits

Probably worth reading the short story Daemonology (in War Without End). Doesn't fully explain it, but connects some dots.

Typhon appears to be fucking about doing doughnuts with his spaceship while Wile E Corswainote chases him. He's starting to receive gifts from grandfather nurgle though, so full corruption is probably only a matter of time.

Since it's Greek Independence Day I have found the IRL Kyr Vahlen.
>Karaiskakis was no less rugged or uneducated than his fellow-soldiers were; yet, even amongst these rugged men, he was notorious for his loose tongue and the brazen torrents of obscenities heuttered. Thus, in late April-earlyMay of 1823, while addressing the messenger of the silihtar* Boda, the Albanian general who was at the time organising a corps of 5000 Moslem Albanians in an Ottoman attack on the Greek forces of central Greece, he said:

>Come on, you shitty Turk... Come on you Jew, you pawn of the gypsies... Fuck your faith and your Mohammed. What did you think, you cuckolds...you should beashamed to ask us sign a treaty with such a shitty Sultan Mahmud. I shit on him and your vezir and that Jew silihtar Boda, the whore.5
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g0OgoySjNCM
>He says "When I return, I'm going to fuck them (Turks) up."

>Karaiskakis was a legendarily vulgar man. He referenced his cock and balls a lot. In the song there is references to "Violins and drums on my cock." This is because there is a legend that he was literally shot in the crotch and survived and from that point on, he would taunt the Ottomans with his genitals by referring to them in such a way.

Wargear rules each Cortex Controller opens a 0-1 Heavy Support slot for either Thallax, Castellax or Vorax. Then Praevian can take either Castellax or Vorax as his retinue. IW Techmarines may take Cortex Controllers, IH Head of the Gorgon allows any Battle-Automata (Domitar, Castellax, Vorax, Arlatax) to be taken as Elites choice.
Also Brethren of Iron generic Rite makes Domitar, Castellax and Vorax non-compulsory Elite, Troop and Fast Attack choices respectively.
My opinion (as I've seen no one else think of it so far) is that the Dark Angels Firewing protocol may unlock additional robots since the fluff for Xana hints at their knowledge on the workings of Mechanicum tech.

Reductor has no specific Lords of War, just the usual Mechanicum Crazy Box. And shiny as that is, it doesn't let us take anything Heresy, which is a lot less stuff once MaC and SA showed up. Unless you want to drop a whale-stormbird, anyway. I was thinking some form of Magos Prime option that lets them take the 0-1 LA Tank HS that's already in the Istvaan Survivors FoC, like a Forge Lord. That was slight hyperbole, but if Legions can take boops, they shouldn't be BETTER than the boopmasters.

They gave the Legio Mortis a hard time, not the Ordo Sinister. The answer to your latter question is about 50 Lightning Fighters with anti-armour missiles and two squads of Droplites. Which oddly is pretty much "How to kill a WW2 Battleship - The Build" Similar concepts, I guess.

Oh my fucking god. Vultarax-chan MVP. First round she wrecks a dreadnought fresh from its pod, then she nukes a Spartan (although it took a bit due to poor rolls). Cybertheurgy Rite of Destruction coupled with an Arc Blaster is nuts. I honestly wasn't fully on board with how effective people say they are, but god damn, I am now a believer. Auto-include her every chance I can.

Lost the game, though, Rampager squad, well, rampaged over everything. We had almost no AP2 thanks to the circumstances. Oh well. Still had a ton of fun.

OK, I need to make me some of those. And install some bays for them on the Filiketos plans even since it can't transport MCs, because I kind of want to have it carry literally everything in a diorama sometimes. Army on Sky Parade. Macrocarid, two or three arty tanks, Titan Guard, Myrmidons, a shit ton of Magi, Archmagi and support units, Servitors, Thallax and Ursarax drop troops and a bay on one side for two Vulturax siblings and on the other for big brother Arvus.

Havoc Launchers score any decent kills?
Did she take any fire, and if so how'd the T6 Flared chassis hold up? I've been umming and ahing over including two of those or a Lightning in my army build list, but I already have a decent dose of Spartan-killing.

Thinking of a development on the squid-drone Cyber-Occularis, maybe actually buy a Knight Head for the optics. An airship variant of pic related.

>>52364580

50 strike aircraft is a reasonable strategic response to something like that, plus escort fighters and such. IIRC that's well within your standard WW2 bombing raid dimensions, let alone a planetary one. The Titans are immune to Haywire, but the Void Shields aren't and two squads helps with reliably getting one through to fire. Could probably do it with all the snapfiring lascannon, but better to have a team for it.
>>
>>52364707
I don't really know what I want them to do. My IH force is head of the gorgon, completely mechanized. Some terminators in a land raider or spartan with autek mor or ferrus manus depending on the points, various rhino infantry, an AA dread, and some tanks.

I just want the models and may as well use them.

Reminds me of one tournament game where a dude looked at two buildings and asked if his land raider would fit between them. He was told that if the model physically can fit between them, sure. Well, the hull fit through but the sponsons didn't, so he couldn't get through. He was butthurt about it.

Havoc launchers did nothing, since all I was firing on was vehicles the entire game. She took a hit from a quad lascannon at the start before I could go Swooping, but Cybertheurgy Rite of Eternity fixed that. From there, all she did was fly around with impunity. Having a 3+ armor save on essentially a T7 platform is great. Cybertheurgy Rite of Destruction gives you 6 haywire shots, and if you land them, you can reasonably expect a dead spartan, even a dead knight with some luck.

Why are the drop sacs making zergy squealing noises? I get the squelchy, but why give it anything that could vocalize?

It's not quite that big, and quite a lot more technological, but put together an army of Siege Tanks, Zerglings and Overseers with Mechanicum and you have the basic concept. I was thinking more Cloudbase crossed with a Mobula, with a dash of Leviathan, a Terran battlecruiser and that. I do want to see Volkite artillery, though, since the SC tanks look slightly like volkite barrels. Statted the main guns for the Filiketos, too. S8, AP2, Deflagrate, Heavy 3 blast, 10-60" range. Two of those, obviously. If it pens something it automatically inflicts Crew Stunned instead of rolling, and units inside cannot disembark as they dislodge the fused hatches and such.

I loved that game for a year or so, left before LoTV came out.

>>52364884

Finally, something for all my random spare Domini from SC:Skitarii boxes to do. A bit of conversion should give me some decent Vulturax and Thanatar overseers. I'll have a bunch of Tervigon parts and such left over from the Castellax, I'll see what I can do.

The super secret Natzi Germany tech present in the 40k universe is the Psychic super weapon trope.

In all instances, where pyschic and technology are combined the resulting technology is the fabled mcguffin.

Sinister Titans, the be all end all. The Thousand Sons, masters of the warp and conventional warfare. Prospero put up a damn good fight, for a singular planet sporting an under strength Legion, three independent, arms composing a form of militant police force was unable to annihilate the Legion at TWO THIRDS of its full strength.

Despite internal sabotage which rendered the vast majority of the planets orbital defenses and information gathering methods inert, the planet STILL forced what should have been a one sided annihilation into a Pyrrhic victory for the Loyalist forces.

In conclusion, the established meta of psychic technology being the end all be all in 40k is well established. Considering the after action reports as well as the initial assault went, the Thousand Sons on a proper war footing would have most likely been able to secure a costly, Pyrrhic victory for themselves.

So, back in the day it was the Taghmata the one who represented a Forgeworld (commanded by their Synod and Prime), while the Skitarius belonged to Mars directly but "regiments" could be deployed either on their own or be assigned to local Taghmatas according to Mars' behest.
But after the Heresy it was separated in a sort-of-similar way like the Imperial Army became the Guard and the Navy aiding the local PDF, thus Skitarii regiments being assigned to Forgeworlds?

I like to imagine it that way, since the Domini in 40k are picked from the Tech-priests with the best aptitude for warfare, regardless of discipline. Was a few centuries over a thousand when he had his duel with Abby. What do you think would happen when Harmless visits a geriatric patient.

While individual unit entries might have been forgotten phoenix termies, rampagers, reavers, post-book-1 legions have that same problem-Just look at phalanx warders and headhunters. What exact legion are you saying is underpowered?

>post-book-1 legions have that same problem-
It's more Inferno's fault than HH3+.

New bread when?
I'm not good in making new threads.

Why Banestrike shells even exist at this point again?
>>
>>52367193
Yeah, but that was after Zeke moved into the wilds to train while living as a hermit.

That's worth like 3 whole training montages right there.

Not four, one for each dark god? He totally went to Moloch, didn't he.
>>
>>52368334
Because FW is silly.

If they didn't reduce your range they wouldn't be that bad. Also if Sniper Vets didn't also get Outflank.
>>
>>52368368
Training montages don't do it for Khorne. He's an action montage only kind of guy.

I think bigger problem is that it's fucking Legion UNIQUE wargear. While BA and UM gets AP2 non-unwieldy beatstick fucking this.

I got 14 custodes im gonna try to build tonight, leaving one to finish as my shield captain when the next set i have in the mail gets in. Theyll all be magnetized hetaerons. Guy in the pic has a tartaros power fist. Works pretty well.
>>
>>52368411
That's back when that kind of legion specifics used to have some kind of mild disadvantage that belied great bonuses, like Scythes making you slower but allowing AP2 before powerfists, or Shrapnel bolts getting a bit worse AP that mostly didn't matter for Pinning.

But then came HH5 and HH6 with "Buy this weapon and you have something EVEN BETTER THAN AP2 AT INITIATIVE", which allowed HH7 to simply buy Shred with no downside whatsoever.

Tssssk, I'm not making one myself either.

Sentinels are troops as well.

So do DG and SW. Sure, it's -1 to Initiative, but a chance to get +1 Attack.
