Home production is not only a fun minigame, it's a good way to give a character some depth.

Assuming 3.5 from now on, as it's the best system for it. Usually, buying pets and creatures is cheap. A dose of Wyrm poison costs 4500gp, exactly as much as an actual Wyrm. To cut costs, you can capture one and hire an exotic domesticator for less than 100gp. You can milk a poisonous creature with a DC 15 Handle Animal check, then craft the usual dose with a DC 15 Craft(Poisonmaking), or a DC 19 Craft(Alchemy). All the DCs can be automated with Expert NPCs that cost about 1gp per day each, if you don't want to do it yourself. Followers do it for free.

For dosage, a creature can make as much poison as it wants, because each attack applies poison. For a milking method though, a low estimate would be one extraction a day. That way you actually has something to do on your days off and the time in-between missions is well spent developing and caring for your small underground poison farm for personal use.

Thing is that with unions their ob is often quite passive, you got paid at minimum wage and worked long enough to get "the good stuff", many non-union jobs don't even get that, you hear all sorts of horror stories from jobs like Wal-mart where they use loop-holes to pay less than minimum wage, and dismiss people before they work long enough to get anything.
Chances are your old union had already fought the battles needed, or kept your employer from considering starting said battles.

As soon as the RKV reaches it's effective velocity, you lose. There's no real way to stop it after that point unless you predicted it far in advance.
