should I narrate my dnd campaign in present or past tense?

Future
so far, I've been doing it present tense. But i think it would have a story-telling vibe if in past-tense
>>52340211
Present.
has anyone ever had a dm that did past-tense?
Third person person.

also, present seems to fist best with first person
while past seems to go with third person
Third tense
in tense

Present tense, because you're constantly asking your players what their characters want to do.
>>52340541
You may just as well ask what their characters did.
>>52340211
Past if you wanna go for a storytelling vibe
Present if you wanna go normal
Future if you want to make it seem like the whole game's a prophecy.

woah dude
woah

Could be a cool thing if done right. Maybe you can do a "Sequel" campaign where the prophecy is a thing in setting but has yet to happen (Perhaps as if the events of the original campaign never happened at all) and for whatever reason people are trying to force themselves to be the ones to fulfil it

Present perfect continuous in the future.

I have more ideas along this line if anyone cares to hear 'em. They're only frameworks, but a framework is like a less spooky skeleton, no?
>>52340211
present tense. It's more immeadite and brings a sense of urgency
