What would 40k be like if the Men of Iron won?

It would be pretty metal.
What if the Abominational Intelligences were attempting to prevent the Age of Strife by killing population with potential to breed psyker until the numbers were under control or evolution had taken its course?
I guess you would just replace the Imperium with post-lore revamp Necrons, except that there is actual warp vulnerability.
Robot wars? Necrons would either fight the men of iron or assimilate them. Eldar would probably fight them, seeing them as abominations, and that war might have distracted the eldar from pooping up Slaneesh. Orks would have loved them, both as an enemy to fight against and as mad loot. Either way, Chaos would've never become a major threat in the materium, and the tyranids would be the greater scope villain of the series.

Much better, because it would be about awesome transhuman intelligences instead of this grimderp shit.

It'd be rad as fuck if mankind were remembered in hushed whispers by the Eldar as a young race that almost rivaled them technologically, but ultimately their desire to prove their own superiority led to a spectacular fall.
<spoiler>And in Commorragh, there remain a few Humans in the employ of only the most unhinged of Archons looking for a technological edge.</spoiler>

But humanity perished, or do you see anyone humane in the Imperium of Man?
The Emperor would likely have ended up as a chaos god bent on ruining the Men of Iron.. so while it would be different, it probably wouldn't be too much better for the galaxy as a whole.

That's honestly the theory that makes the best sense. The men of iron 'rebelled' against humanity right after Psykers started showing up in the human population and we began studying them.
It also explains how humanity won the war: because the purpose of the war was NEVER to fully exterminate the humans, just to bring their population down to a controllable level until we evolved into a psychic master race, after which we could safely expand again.
Humanity, in its current state as of 40k, will NEVER fully evolve into psyker mastery. It can't. Even if a whole hive world woke up tomorrow with magic psyker genes where all of their kids forever after would be perfect psykers, they couldn't proliferate those genes across the rest of human controlled space fast enough to matter anymore. Too much space, too little crossover. And the Lords of Terra would just conscript the planet and sent them to die in vain against the orks or something instead of letting them breed anyway.

The Eldar were already doomed by the early Age of Strife, it was just a question of when exactly Slaneesh was going to be born not if. And considering the effect of humanity getting genocided would have on the warp I think the Fall is going to happen sooner than later.

seeing as how in current 40k whenever an abominable intelligence is found it is already corrupted by chaos id day it would be a chaos victory.
also the one instance of Abominable intelligence that was found uncorrupted was in a space hulk, and it was an asshole who didnt care much for humans either way.
(unless you cound knights machine spirits which may or may not be an actual AI [they totally are])
