The tech level of the world is that of mid-iron age. Metal tools and weapons are common, but well made steel is highly prized and rare to come by.
The most abundant race in the World is the humble dwarf.
Dwarves are far spread and diverse as they come, in skin and hair colour, in architecture and agriculture.
But one thing remains the same, their height and broadness of shoulder. They are a sturdy bunch, most men can take a rock to the face without flinching, that’s how they’ve gotten so far.
Dwarf magic generally consists of etching a rune or two into an inanimate object. Some take it further and etch markings into their own skin causing scars, this grants them power but is frowned upon in most civilised areas.
Two more races are Goblins and Trolls. They are as diverse as Dwarves and are not considered evil.

The magic is very druidic and shamanistic, mostly consisting of rune carving and alchemical potion making. Most spell are complex, large scale rituals taking anywhere between several hours to a whole year.

One of the most powerful dwarven nations is the Serene Republic of Diamondgrad. A nation of Blond dwarves with ghostly white skin that trade around the Glacial sea and the tunnels that cover most of the North. The republic is ruled by a coucil made of the 5 biggest landowners of the republic as well as 5 elected officials.

While not considered outright evil humans are not the most liked of races because of their tendancy to raid other races and to disrupt trade. Most people tend to watch themselves when meeting a human the first time but they tend to relax as they learn to know them.

Most of the world was submerged underwater after an incedent involving rival gods. Empires crumbled, races disappeared, beasts and monsters downed and the dwarves that had been mostly living underground until then inherited the world.

Simple Cosmology of the World(s) based on Dwarvish theology.
The verse is split into two plains, The upper and lower. The upper plain is inhabited by the creatures of the earth, while it is unknown and only specualted that anything dwells there, but stories tell of things more gruesome than trolls and more monstrous than giants dwell in the Beneath.
Some believe the lower plain is some sort of afterlife, while others believe it to be just a hellscape of nightmarish beasts where no one should ever set foot.
There a very few tales of men (referring to any race) journeying to the Beneath, it is depicted as either a pitchblack cave system filled with unseen horrors, or a volcanic waste where the sky is lit by magma flowing endlessly from the underside of the Upper Plain.

Goblins are a sub-race of Dwarves that have taken to living above ground in forests and wooded areas. They are considered the troublesome cousin of the Dwarves and are even less trusted than Humans by commoners. They mostly live by hunting game and foraging and occasionally steeling from wanderers and wayfarers.
