As is, it's pretty fucking lame that all three Arachnarok loud-outs cost the same. There's no reason to ever run the howdah-less version, and the flinger is basically worthless. The Weak Lobber Arachanrok would be a nice alternate to just taking multiple Shaman for redundency's sake, while a Weak Lobber on Gigantic Spider would give the faction a nice mobile war-machine. The only thing is that the Weak Lobber's basically got to be weaker than a real Lobber because of the mobility of the rest of the army. Or at least, I suspect it would end up that way regardless.

If General's Handbook 2 doesn't tweak at least the cost of the three Arachnaroks, I doubt we'll ever get anything though.

I'd take anything, really. Because a single 18 inch 4+, 3+, -, 1d3 is just trash. And especially if you're coding the bonus effect to the Flinger actually inflicting wounds.

Is there any precedent in AoS for "freeze" mechanics that instead of impeding the Hit of the enemy result in impeding movement? Like remove the damage entirely and just have anything hit suffer a 2d6 penalty to it's Move. The Spiderfangs are already hyper-mobile, but the ability to stick a unit in place would be a nice little bit of fluffy crunch.

I have just recently gotten into AoS and am currently in the process of painting my first minis.

The faction's already pretty fine, if not hilariously restricted in the options it has. Giving some unmounted spiders for chaff, a Gigantic Spider war machine, and tinkering with the problems of the Arachanrok's price costs would do wonders for the faction. The illegal battalion is pretty great, and I guess we could use some more of those.

It's hilarious. 40K player here who just got into AoS. It's the superior game. My Blood Angels are going to kick some major ass soon thanks to the charging being like AoS. Orks too! 40K is not so much complex atm as it is complicated. AoS has taught me how much fun it can be. The armies play like the fluff, which is the most important part to me. I told this story in a thread a week or so ago, nice guy in a nice store with other nice people, he was a cool dude overall. BUT, when I talked about how I got into AoS recently, I got the whole spiel about how Fantasy is dead, his world is dead AFTER PLAYING FOR 15 YEARS OH MY GOD! New Seraphon models fucking when? They need a sylvaneth type release where half the models are old, but a bunch of new ones got added too. We need some AoSified lizardmen units, and my theory is that they'll be the sun bloods, and expansion of the Gor Rok model. There was a line in the seraphon battletome hinting at sunbloods possibly evolving into some greater form of lizardman

While that image may not be related to new aelves, the newest rumor engine pic most certainly is. Combine that with what Lady Atia said in relation to the newest pic and I expect shadow aelves will be shown off somewhere at adepticon.

Those new armies might be designed at the same time. Maybe a whole new line of shadow elves is being prepped and the Shadowspire booster pack is just the first release we see of that. It's a bit of a misconception that if the studio does X then they can't do Y. Whole armies won't be on hold because of the design studio working on a project since that probably not how the process works. Models are probably designed and created with X deadline and then their sales team decides when to release them. Maybe they have whole new armeis lying on the shelf waiting for a release in the coming year (overly optimistic of course).

Just to give some actual facts instead of speculation. All the 8th edition Elf armies were designed at the same time, however it took them 2 years or so to release everything.

On the warhammer twitch, they just said a little about the Overlords.

Ironclads and Frigates are transports and can be overloaded with models, in which case their speed goes down. Skyriggers never overload a transport, since they just grapple onto the sides.

The Ironclad has so many rules that they had to drop the font size to fit it all on one page.
