Recommend some of those short nifty storygames /tg/. I'll be moving to another city in 4 months and I just don't have the time to set up a 'go out with a bang' campaign.
Usually we're doing either involved OSR or completely beer-and-pretzels D&D. The only storygame we ever tried was Ten Candles, went with a great success.
Considering: Fiasco, Lady Blackbird
Not interested in: *W games, Dogs in the Vineyard. But if anyone has experience with other VB games, go ahead

Everyone is John
Tenra Bansho Zero.
it's entirely a game designed to be like a shitty japanese OVA that you play once, where the rules are stupid-simple because the target audiences are Japanese people who're usually too busy to do weekly sessions.

>Fiasco, Lady Blackbird
Those are excellent choices.
Take a look at Poison'd, it's a game about a ship full of pirates who are on their way to hell in a handbasket -- at the start of the game, the captain's been killed and there's a pirate hunter on your tail and the crew's about ready to start killing each other. Fun!
I've heard Out of Dodge is fun, it's kind of Fiasco-like. It recommends you play it inside an actual car going somewhere, which is kinda cool.
Maybe take a look at Shock, it's a science fiction storygame that does social SF, as in the literary stuff that's about human being reacting to change. I hear it makes a great one shot or short campaign.

Dogs in the Vineyard.

Thanks, Shock may be the thing. Heard about it but never checked it out. Only remember that it always starts with something that sets things in motion but that's sorta given for a one-shot anyway.

Read it, found Ten Candles mechanics more interesting in setting the appropriate pace. Still, Jenga is fun.

There's a couple of weaboos in the grouplike mewho'd probably appreciate but rulebook is hella big. Can I get away with skimming through rules quickly? I assume there's a shitton of setting info or whatever.

As I mentioned, not interesed. Nifty mechanics, but not sold on doing wild west mormon paladins and don't want to reskin. Well one guy who just goes with a paladin-like character in every setting imaginable will be happy but we're a big group.
