How could a good serpent god look like?

Well, snakes have been symbols of wisdom, rebirth, immortality, and healing in a number of cultures all over the world. The best example would be Asclepius, the Greek god of healing. He isn't a snake himself, but he uses magic snakes to heal people and his snake entwined staff is still the symbol for doctors the world over.

There are two kinds of people.

Snakes live most of their lives as defensive, stealthy predators that take what they need from their ecosystems, and not a bit more. They are excellent symbols of the hunt and the home, their carefully guarded nests and dens being a grand focus of their lives.

"Morally upright and not a bastard" good, or "Enjoyable to play around and deal with" good?
For the former, I'd tie in the ourboros and have it cover life, death, and the cycle thereof: It takes the dead away, brings new life in their wake, and generally just handles ghosty shit.
For the latter, it's made completely of poisons, having soaked in bitter resentment and rage for untold centuries. The cultists that worship it inure themselves to poisons in the hopes of surviving the outflow of death when it's finally freed upon the world. Covers physical poisons, figurative poisons, poisonous words, etc.

The sun god in my setting is a serpent, and is generally depicted as a lazy bastard who coils around the sky, pushing the sun along to bask his whole body.
Sometimes, the Sun Serpent is seen to go down to earth when he spies a particularly nice isolated rock, and gives blessings to passing travelers.
