Do you ever try to make your world's rivers and other aspects of geography as complex as these examples of the real world? How would one even go about making something like that following the correct rules?
Some more pictures for real world examples

MISSISSIPPI STRONK,WIDEST RIVER SYSTEM IN WORLD
Detailing even twenty major arteries that feed into a river is time consuming, and not really worth it since you can barely fit them into a game. When I helped make a setting we relied on making a few major rivers, a couple of arteries, then expanding on those as we detailed important areas. It kept things relevant while still making semi-believable geography

No. That would be an enormous amount of work which would add nothing to the game.
That said - pretty interesting pictures.

Ya probably isn't really worth it for a game. But it's more so for autism's sake

>then expanding on those as we detailed important areas
A lot of detailed worldbuilding involves leaving "unimportant" areas as "fuzzy" until a later date, the same way something like google maps will only load in the current area and a bit of margin around it as you move around. Everything else is just chunky colors in case someone scrolls quickly.
No, the world is viewed from the ground so I see no reason to have realistic geography if it's not something you WANT to have. Most players/readers don't care about geography. I just correct errors that are blatant but easy to fix.

also inb4 people apply this logic to other things like combat realism, logistic realism, etc
realistic geography isn't necessary to depict realistic situations

Nothing as complicated as those, but I am currently working on topography, which inherently involves drainage basins. These images are brilliant for better visualising how large a basin can be, as well as numbers. Thank you, OP.
Kalamar has excellent maps, this is a lousy rez snapshot of one page. This game's maps have wonderful detail, very useful for adding to overland travel.
More than this level is probably not that useful.

This is a beautiful topography map with just the right level of zoom for me.
Now the follow up, is there a map of woodlands and terrain? And is there a map of culture/national borders? If all three exist this would be everything you'd need to run a setting.
