Journal Entry # 3645
Wow… I met Arcueid today. Even though the look on her face was so terrifying; it took all my strength not to squee at seeing her. No one likes a fan girl. It’s funny I should have been afraid she was very pissed and likely to murder me if I handled this wrong but I ran because I was afraid I would say something stupid if I didn’t.

Thankfully I had more managed to regain my composure by the time she caught me. Damn she is quick. She was surprised I was more happy than afraid of her. I explained I was happy she was alive. I apologized for killing her. She accepted my apology but then we were attacked by Nero’s beasts and had to run.

(to be continued)

Currently working on a way to mass produce an army of Proto-Amazons. I've got the knowledge to make them via the Inca Science item from Kamen Rider Showa Part 1, so right now I'm trying to find a suitable base, so I can start cloning an army of them. I'm currently thinking Reese from Person of Interest, but I'm looking at other possibilities.

Currently I'm trying to figure out how to stuff a planet-sized self-expanding dungeon into something like a micro-verse battery.

Got the basic perks i need down but i'm expanding the idea as i come across perks or items that would have good synergy.

Journal Entry # 3647

It probably wasn’t the best Idea but I laid all of my cards on the table. It was a bit harder when I didn’t have access to most of my abilities but she saw my warehouse and some of the items I have collected. She seems even more confused. I was able to use some potions of healing to help mend her body though she is still weakened…. Still she was glad to have the help patching herself up.

I introduced her to my companions. She seems cool with Adam and the professor but there seems to be some tension with Akitsu. The nearer Akitsu is to me the unhappier she seemed.

Sadly I think Akitsu actually likes her but is just being protective of me. After all Arcueid did mention she had intended to use me as a meat shield or kill me. Thankfully we got a plan hammered out somehow amidst the chaos.

Journal Entry # 3649
Wow, the plan worked beautifully; Arcueid served as a distraction for Nero while Adam moved in and protected her. Then Akitsu froze him and his animals then Van Hellsing and I unloaded with Holy magic and Weapons of mass destruction respectively until they were smoldering ash. I think we got all of Nero but I can’t be sure with a creature like him. He splits in to many parts and all of them are him.

Sadly there is still tension between Akitsu and Arcuied; mostly on Arcueid’s part. I don’t think she likes Akitsu for some reason.

Journal entry # 3651

I hurt so bad, so I met SHIKI tonight. The bastard got me good. It cost me an arm… sort of. If it hadn’t been for the timely intervention of Ciel and Adam it would have been more than that. Right now Ciel used something to make my body forget the loss of it’s arm so it will stay attached.
This is the angriest I think I have seen Akitsu, She wanted to obliterate the school. Then arcuied found out he was there. then they both almost went off half-cocked. I convinced them both we weren't certain. Now they are bonding over plans to murder SHIKI.

Journal Entry # 3652
So I think I have officially made Arcueid an otaku. She insisted on staying here while I recovered. Akiha is furious but they let her in on some stuff and she reluctantly agreed if she got to join in on the fun when the time came.

I am still under bed rest orders and get yelled at if I even think about getting up so not much to do but watch TV. Apparently Arc never really saw TV she has a fondness for Sailor moon though she apparently found Fate/Zero very interesting. She has been very interested in my dvd collection after that. I am glad I burned my DVD of a certain anime that doesn’t exist. Still I am glad I think we are actually becoming friends.

Journal Entry # 3654
Well… holy shit… umm Roa is dead, half the school is gone… They went a bit overboard with the whole killing him thing. I kind of feel bad now about blackmailing ceil to be a part of this… she is the one who is going to have to clean up this mess.

Also things almost came to a head between Arcueid and Akitsu. Thankfully it turns out sort of worked out. It turns out Arcueid likes me and whatever she was prepared to do was kind of shot down by Akitsu
Being ok with Polygamy and explaining that’s how her race worked. I like Arcueid I won’t deny that. She seems sincere so I am giving it a chance. She even has been given permission to come along with me on my journey.

Alright. So. Good news and bad news.

Bad news: Jump is incredibly huge and is a point-vampire even by my standards. Might not be bothering with an item section, and giving Holy Swords a mini-section after Gears, which will get a discount for the Heaven faction. Both of these are most of the 'items' in-universe, anyhow.

No, the one with the angels, not me.

Good news: This means the jump's completion isn't far off. Next is companions and then there's drawbacks and fluff. Afterwards it will be jumpable, and more OC options will be added at some point.

Then I'll get back to work on Final Fantasy and TIME TRAINS.

Even worse: the jumper is your polar opposite, and your personality and morals are only the result of them taking a cheap 100cp drawback.

Currently attempting to displace/replace SHIELD as the main defenders of mankind or at least support network for such people, main plan is to infiltrate and dig my hooks into promising startup programs for things such as space exploration and providing basic designs from Macross and my gravitytech from Gravity Rush

Once that's a thing, start ensuring Hydra's silly asses aren't involved with an extreme prejudice before going to the moon and starting my work there

After that, it's a lot of using the Hammer Drones as pure labor to establish a fleet. Maybe use my and my waifu's veritechs as the basis for construction of effective anti-crazy alien and inhuman/HYDRA weaponry.

Mostly it's just arming humanity in a way that SHIELD failed to do for a multitude of reasons

1. Fire Emblem Holy Grail War

Planning on accomplishing this by somehow using Second Magic to access possible Fire Emblem worlds (Using Fire Emblem video games to help, somehow. hey. it's currently in beta for this moment) + Magic Filtering Crystal Tech from Hero BBS (I do have an established system for how it works, btw, not pulling it out of my ass) for wish granting until I can get the knockoff Silver Crystal from Sailor Moon + Gamer's Barrier to make sure no innocents get harmed + create some form of the Throne of Heroes for Fire Emblem worlds for the souls to return to in case they get killed

I am pretty sure I cocked something up there or it has some flaws. Also I'm not nearly as powerful enough to do this...yet.

Could someone help me establish some context in regards to Servants? EX Rank is supposed to be 500 times the normal human maximum. The supplement also says that Rin is who we should take as an example of the human maximum in regards to Mana. As someone who's never read, played or watched Fate, how much mana does she have?
>>
>>52219380
Could you bold the categories and perk/item names? It's a lot easier to read that way.
>>
>>52219200
>>52219203

>>
>>52219398
The modification table was starting to look more and more like a GURPS book in my head, or a fanfic writer's attempt at emulating Mage. It's not helped by how schizophrenic even the rank-and-file Sacred Gears are in terms of abilities and scope. So I opted for a list of canons with the possibility of later OC options.
>>52219411
Already have. Humans get +300 CP for Gears/Holy Swords to represent the fact they're usually born with Sacred Gears in the first place. This also means they can be Reincarnated Devils or Angels and keep the benefits of both races, though this restricts your choice of Factions.

>I believe the Magic Circuits option in the Jump mentions Rin's loadout, 20 High Quality Magic Circuits iirc?
So it does. But that still doesn't give me context. I was more looking for example feats of her spellcasting. What can you do with twenty magic circuits?
>>
>>52219430
2. Project Redemption Evil Village In Vally Eden, or "Project REVIVE" (I needed an acronym for my project somehow, please don't hurt me, I know it's not that good)

Basically, I am going to take the souls of the villains I took and put in the gems and made them sleep forever and then upload them into a virtual simulation of a nice village in a place, probably a tropical island like in SDR2 or a nice calm peaceful forest village using the World Seed from SAO. There, they are going to cooperate with each other to live in the village, until they can behave and calm down. I'm gonna have a few AI buddies infiltrate them and be a part of them, making sure they don't act out or kill anyone.

Now, preventing them from trying to break out, I've got to figure that out.
>>
>>52219508

Rin doesn't do much but here's one of her favourite spammable spells, Gandr, in action. For the most part she charges jewels with magic so it's hard to get a read on what she can do on her own with the rest of her fights.

>...you have read that beast right?
>If it's a duck, then call it a duck.
Everything is relative.
>>
>>52219508
Rin can fire curses that hit like bullets. Besides that, she can reinforce herself to massively superhuman levels, enough to tangle with low-tier Servants. Unfortunately, she specializes in a magic system that requires external foci and reagents, so examples of her own capabilties are limited.

91. Franken Fran
Location: Madaraki Mansion
Age: 21, Origin: Doctor
Perks: Commencing Operation (Cosmetics, Transplant, Trauma, Disease, Mental), Make Me A Better Man, Meatgrinder Medicine, I Can Still Save Him, Biology As A Guideline
Items: The Spare Room, Surgical Tools
Drawbacks: Jumpers Gone Wild

I came here because I was the man who had to clean up every time some weird bullshit comes rolling off this mountain and into town. The amount of these things that clearly used to be human and needed to be put down warranted some investigation. I had heard of the Madarakis and their "miracles", but all I ever saw from them were well-made disasters. Fran invited me into her house just before I awoke as a jumper, and I nearly ran out of the place immediately.

I probably should've with all the bullshit they put me through and Fran's weird inability to grasp actual empathy. Quality of life was never a consideration for her so much as her own interest in doing weird shit. It took all of a few months of me for me to grow bored of the whole monster-making cycle she was on and go back to my old job fixing her mistakes. I have to actively work on recreating and modifying nanite swarms to do it, take advantage of mind-upload/separation using tech from Generic Virtual World, and at the end of the day I still feel like a child competing in a triathalon against a professional. In the end, I have better tools from my time jumping, so it gets done, but to go back to the triathalon analogy it's like having a motorcycle you have to abandon for the swimming portion.

My companions also tracked down every copy of that porno my origin was in, but a couple of my companions put it up for sale in the Archipelago. So, now I have to live with that forever. Why do I trust these people?
>>

Anon who's working on Spore here.

If it's not too much trouble, could you all please post your sort of 'wishlists' for Spore? I'm trying to plan out the overall structure of everything right now, so it would be most helpful to know:

>The specific gameplay components that you want to be rendered as perks/other options (part gathering, complexity, consequence traits, etc).
>Anything related to meta-customization- that is, if there's anything you'd like to have as an import option, etc.

And also anything else you were thinking about that I might've missed. Those are the big two, though.
>>
>>52219974
Something for guiding species down the same evolutionary line as in the game. So raising something from a cellular level to being capable of forming civilisations, or at least getting that ball rolling.
>>
>>52219974
I'd like an option to have all the creatures on your planet look like they could have come from the same biosphere. You know what I mean, right? How in the game they'd be randomly selected from the database, so nothing looked like it evolved on the same planet. No common features, just a thousand acts of whimsical creation. I'd like to be able to avoid that, optionally. Let people who want that have it, let people who want to play this more as a speculative evolution simulator do their thing.
>>
>>52219974
Staff of life either costing a fuckton or as some kind of special reward for a scenario or big drawback. Terraforming stuff in general. Overall the entire space age is what excites me.
>>
>>52219974
I'd like the option to have your species show up in other jumps, like how the Civilization jump does it. Not a huge thing, just there as a background detail that you can seek out if you want to.
>>
>>52219974
I assume that the jump will take longer than 10 years to complete, right?
>>
>>52219993
Do you specifically want it as a perk, or would something like the Monolith uplifter from Space Stage work for you? I'm sure I could find a way to fit an upgraded version of what the Monolith does in as a perk if need be.

>>52220005
That's actually the default in the plan. It's more or less based more on what Spore was promised to be by Maxis instead of what we ended up getting. Been spending a lot of time going over the cut features page recently.

>>52220006
Sure thing, anon.

>>52220028
Perhaps something where they don't appear unless you specifically seek them out? So if you went looking for them, you'd happen upon an island or whatever appropriate environment where a small sample of your original biosphere is living?
>>
>>52220109
>Perhaps something where they don't appear unless you specifically seek them out? So if you went looking for them, you'd happen upon an island or whatever appropriate environment where a small sample of your original biosphere is living?
Yeah, that's along the lines of what I was thinking. Though them being off on another planet rather than an island. Just a single isolated colony that no one in canon has interacted with, that you can go to if you really want.

>>
>>52220109
Something like the Monolith uplifter should be fine, though a perk would be great.
>>
>>52220093
Yeah. My current idea for it is... a bit weird. Have you ever played Dungeon Keeper? I'm thinking of having it work like possession in that. The current thought is to have it play something like regular Spore by default, with you existing as a sort of managing presence/spirit/thing I haven't figured out yet. Individual creatures of your species will do whatever, and you'll have the option to more or less quickly speed up along the timeline.

Once you're at the Creature Stage, however, you'll have the option to take control (maybe choosing to incarnate for a creature's lifetime?) of a individual to interact with the jump like normal. That way, people can have the full experience without having several million years of NOTHING happen.

How about adding a +100-200 drawback that makes it into how the game was?
>>
>>52220172
Is it wrong that I kind of want to extend the Creature Stage as long as possible? I love SpecEvo stuff, I want to play around guiding evolution for millions of years.

Oh, that actually gives me an idea for something that could be cool: One of my favorite SpecEvo projects is Serina, a series about a world that was seeded with a very limited selection of Earth life and left to speciate and evolve into all sorts of weird things to fill the emptiness. The name comes from the taxonomic name of the common canary, which is the only terrestrial vertebrate included in the terraforming package. Could we have something like that? An option to skip the Cell Stage and start the Creature Stage with an ecosystem based on a set of imported mundane plants and animals of our choosing. Then we could play around evolving them into exotic life forms that bear only a dim resemblance to their ancestors.
>>
>>52220189
Change list?
>>
>>52220273
Bottom of the doc.
>>
>>52220233
Ah, see- that's actually what the Cell Stage /is/. What is there to put in the Cell Stage, reasonably speaking? It's going to serve as an introduction to the jump mechanics, and also helping you build the world you start out in at the Creature Stage.

You build the planet - you can have it farther or closer to the sun, even change the type of star you're orbiting and also choose the foundations of your ecosystem. You can get points for lowering the T-score of the planet, which limits the amount of options you can choose to customize the ecosystem in addition to making life generally harder on the planet.

And if you want to slow down the management time acceleration to 0, you can. Creature Stage doesn't end until you say so, just like in the games.

My thought was to allow it by basically not disallowing it. The options I'm gonna offer are going to be all neutral in terms of land/water, so if you want to stay in the water... then you can just choose to, and it'll change nothing.

I think the canon version should just be there as usual, you don't need to say anything about it, but a purchasable one for those who want a recharging one, or one that they don't need to fight the Gek to reach could be cool.

On the perk front, things to do the sort of things you can in the game could be cool, for instance a cheap perk could let you set large trends in fashion, not necessarily specific pieces of clothing like in the game, but saying 'it's cool to wear leaves' or scarves or that sort of broad spectrum fashion influence.

I second >>52220479 with all the spice, and perhaps selling a spice geyser, or the ability to find them in other settings could be cool too.

Something involving the giants wouldn't go astray. They were always one of my favorite parts of the game and I was sad they were so irrelevant.

Your ideas sound really cool. I look forward to seeing the end result!

Oh goody I have quite a lust for space operas and have already bent infinity and mass effect over my knee ala the emperor.

also, maybe make the titan or indeed any and all ships cheaper but come with nothing on it, or offer various packages with different loadouts from nothing to fully loaded
>>
>>52220804
oh also, all ships are not made equal. The missile titan is generally considered the weakest and the charon has the biggest cargo hold out of all its contemporaries to name two examples.

don't worry so much about the items list being bloated, It's EVE bloated is the name of the game.
>>
>>52221410
Hmm, that's not a bad idea, making all ships come empty and offer equipment packages.

>>52221448
I'm mostly going to offer tiers of ships with a slight surcharge if you take a ship that isn't from your faction.

Also for the items, it's more the fact that I'm having trouble imagining much stuff that couldn't be stuffed inside a ship/equipment table.
>>
>>52221548
Now that I thing about it, making a general item table with no discounts and making a ship customization table with discounts depending on factions/background is how I'm most likely going to do it.

I would personally hugely appreciate a cheaper unloaded option for titans. I don't need the weapons, weapons and the ability to produce weapons is something I have in spades. I cannot however establish a shipyard. and then theres the whole thing of 'would a non purchased ship even accompany through jumps' and it just feels more honest to say no. I can field millions of hands and plenty of materials to outfit a basic chassis, and the bigger the better.

It's about time I got a middle ground between the shard and the light of terra anyway.

Since we are talking space ships what is so amazing about the sajuuk from homeworld that it is priced so high?

Pic unrelated. Mostly.
>>
>>52221609
The unloaded, stripped-bare-of-anything version is going to be the default state (even for Titans though they will have a slight surcharge for their equipment like the Doomsday weapon), with equipment packages being able to be bought for certain amounts of CP.
Also only purchased ships will accompany you through jumps, though they will still keep their loadout, modifications and interior equipment (so if you manage to reasonably stuff a non-CP-purchased ship inside a CP-purchased ship, it will still come with you).
>>
>>52221734
you mean the plans for the city-sized ship massively more advanced than anything else in the setting that comes with a free ship and unlocks the secrets of forerunner technology? Yeah, it's fairly priced.

Bancho of all people you should not be sarcastic, I am seriously asking about what makes it so impressive. A.i thought you were being sarcastic since it says so right in the description

B.I wasn't trying to be sarcastic. The Internet does not carry tone here are the reasons

1.plans for Forerunner technology power cores that are not normally able to be reproduced in the setting

2. if I'm reading it right It comes with a dreadnought class to help you build it

Looking good.

I would say though, that with including the mythic artefacts, that adding a basic un-armoured exoskeleton you can throw over a suit might be warranted - and it gives something for the tech-perk guy to trick out.

Some of the non-augmenting artefacts could be neat - like an Empty (or even... a Full Empty).

Hm. My build loses out here but oh well.

It's my opinion that a lot of the artifacts are a bit over-priced. I'd drop them to 100cp per tier.
>>
>>52221863
A good suggestion. I'll add it into the next version. The non-augment artifacts were something I was considering, but felt not too many people would want to take. Might come up with something for them, though.

>>52221979
Noted. I figured they were over-priced but didn't want to second guess myself and make them dirt cheap. Also, if it's your budget you're worried about, you might want to look a little closer at the blank areas.

Goddamnit...no thanks. I'll take the reduced cap, because I lean heavily on Roadside Picnic/Stalker RPG for setting fluff instead of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. and riding a death truck into Zone: Canada is a fast way to a bad end even with out of jump knowledge.
>>
>>52222240
Literally the only problem with that option.
>>
>>52222209
Generally, yes. Most 'power removal' options are obviously intended to cut off what you had before the current jump, thus including warehouse and items. Certain specific ones, such as the one in Fate Stay, are specific that it only affects powers in some way, but most of them are explicitly or obviously intended to cut off everything you had prior to the current jump.

TLDR- depends on the drawback's wording
>>
>>52222209
Yeah, it would be kind of odd if even when all your powers are sealed away you grab your ultimate Power Armor +100 and are still the most powerful being around anyway. I pretty sure that that's definite breaking the spirit of the drawback.
>>
>>52222251
True. To be fair, you get a roadside picnic Wishgranter wish if you take the death truck and find the big golden goose egg.
>>
>>52222273
aren't those things Traps? i'm only aware of the game endings but those seem like traps.
>>
>>52222283
The one in the game certainly is, but if the jump says it's a real wish, then a real wish it is.
>>
>>52222283
The video game Wishgranter, sure. That thing is one big bad end no matter how you approach it. The roadside picnic version grants you your deepest, most secretive wish no matter what you actually ask for. The story given is a stalker led his brother to his death so he could make a wish for money. The brother regretted his choice and asked the Wishgranter to bring back his brother. He got a great big pile of money instead and the stalker committed suicide shortly thereafter because of his greed.

Did I mention that stalker was based off a Russian novel?
>>

Can the Mutation perk be bought more than once?

Does the Dark Road drawback suppress out-of-jump powers/items until you get away from the building / to the stash?
>>
>>52220197
It doesn't.
>>
>>52222316
It's the reward for going through the Zone with no outside powers, gear and as many negatives as you want to stack. Finding and getting to the Wishgranter is near Herculean in itself normally, so the reward should be appropriate. If we wanted to go for accuracy, you'd be required to take The Meat Grinder for no additional points.

As it stands The wish will probably be treated like every other wish you can acquire in JC: redeem after spark.

>>52220197
It would not because with the Second Magic your not actually time traveling your just going to a separate dimension which is higher or lower in whatever Nasuverse has as a time stream.

Jump #273: Showa Kamen Rider, Part 1
>The Lovers: A decision calling for emotional control and faithfulness to spiritual values.
No, we aren't talking Kamen Rider slash, we're talking JUSTICE!
>Age: 21
>Location: Japan, 1971
>Identity: Shocker Rider (-100)
>Badass Biker (800)
I don't want to take any risks
>Olympian (Free, Rider)
While I might already meet the qualifications, I'm not going to say no to a little extra help.
>Could It Be G̶o̶l̶g̶o̶m̶ Shocker? (Free, Rider)
Of course. It's always Shocker.
>I'll Knock Some Sense Into You! (700, Rider)
Literally knocking sense into someone. The only way this could be better is if I could somehow impart knowledge by smacking someone upside the head.
>Even If There Is No God Or Buddha... (500, Rider)
This is a world where it is important to be able to inspire people. It's amazing how much being a hero can help people, too - not even in doing something, but by people knowing that you're out there at all.
>Cross Of Fire (200, Rider)
With all the things that seem to happen, here and in other places... being able to withstand corrupting forces and use them for justice is important.
>Rider Synchro (100)
Well, to be fair, what I have IS a belt as described here, just not a Kamen Rider belt. Still useful, no?
>Kamen Rider Blu-Ray Set (50)
Never hurts to have a hand up on the future. Sadly, no lottery numbers here.
>New Cyclone (0, Rider)
Say. That's a nice bike.

So the answer to the first Kamen Rider, who broke out of the bad guys' brainwashing, was a copy of him. Who broke out of their brainwashing. Apparently I am the answer to them. Except I ALSO broke out of their brainwashing. It doesn't seem very effective. And my form is just distinctive enough, thanks to combining it with Night Driver, to not just be a generic copy of him but actually my own person.

Other than that... we're looking at many years of fighting for JUSTICE, right up to end of the jump where it's time to hang up my belt and go into retirement.
>>
>>52222328
Yes and yes. Will update the wording for the next version.

Jump #274: Showa Kamen Rider, Part 2
>King of Swords, reversed: A mature leader of unyielding ethics and absolute authority. An incorruptible judge.
>Age: 37 (-50: age chosen)
>Location: Japan, 1987
>Identity: Dummy Black (-100)
>Drawbacks: Connected Continuity (0)
Wait a minute. I already WAS a kamen rider. And now these guys kidnapped me to turn me into a kamen rider, again?! Oh, this will not end well for them. Good thing I already have a motorcycle.
>Ride Like The Wind (Free, Rider)
Again, doesn't hurt to get a little extra expertise at riding.
>Fists of Fury (750, Rider)
Adapt my fighting skills to fit whatever superhuman abilities I may have? Don't mind if I do!
>Good Genes (550)
Screwing around with DNA is fun! I don't actually plan on using it very much, but I'm sure that playing scientist before being converted (back) into a rider is of course a possible thing.
>Danger Instinct (350, Rider)
Detecting evil is important. Gut feelings... well, it's close enough, honestly.
>Child of the Sun (50, Rider)
If I'm never going to get the pendultimate power-up that Kamen Rider Black has, I may as well at least go for the RX power up.
>Kamen Rider Black & Kamen Rider Black RX Blu-Ray Set (0)
More stuff to watch on movie night.

Really, it's going to be basically more of the same. Fighting for JUSTICE. For ten years. ...again.

I think if I come back to this universe I don't want to be a kamen rider any more. Thirty years in a row of dealing with the non-stop cheese gets old fast.

>>
>>52222544
Siren Blood Curse has a perk which lets you pass immunities by giving enough of your blood.
>>
>>52222544
Depends on the perk. A lot of perks 'just work' even when it makes no sense, so they'd obviously have no biological representation becausethere's no need. But a lot of perks are basically just giving you something that exists in series, in which case it likely does have a biological representation.

Basically, what perks are you looking at?

What do you guys think of using the Stand along the Spin and Hamon? For a Joestar in part 4
Stand Name: 「Sexbomb」
Humanoid Stand, Close Range manifestation, Range of the bombs is potentially infinite.
Stand Ability: [This bomb´s for loving]- 「Sexbomb」´s ability allows it to generate small, spherical “bombs” that can be detonated at-will by its user- Instead of the explosion being damaging, however, they can generate a variety of purely benefitial effects for those caught in the blast- from healing their wounds to making them stronger, faster or more durable. These effects work on the user, albeit to a lesser extent- and while the user can make the blast radius bigger, the minimum size of the blast covers an area of two meters.
Awakening ability: [Sexual Healing]- After having awakened, [Sexbomb]´s ability to create bombs can be boosted to tremendous levels- having the benefitial effects become detrimental due to their intensity. While a normal healing bomb would just regenerate lost tissue and leave the target healthy, one boosted this way would make the body regenerate so fast as to cause a rapidly-growing cancer. When a normal bomb could make someone faster, one boosted like this would increase that speed past what the body can take, and make the ones affected tear their muscles and break their bones with that speed.

Power - A

Speed - B

Range - D

Durability - A

Precision - D

Potential - B

Currently I'm in the middle of trying to adapt Gems from Steven Universe for use in Kamen Rider Belts. Which is much harder than it sounds. I initially tried cutting the Gemstones into Cosmic Switches to use the power of Friendship, which worked GREAT. This universe is literally overflowing with the power of Friendship. Unfortunately, I've hit a bit of a snag. The transformation tends to apply some... psychological changes on the person while they are wearing the suit.

Amethyst was the first Gem I tried it with, mostly because it was the cheapest and easiest to obtain in the size needed to form the core of a Switch. The Transformation sequence works, with the suitable amount of Kamen Rider flair and music (punk rock bass) and the suit looks... not bad. Once transformed, enhanced strength was immediately apparent, as was a sudden change in the subject's attitude and demeanor. They started acting... well... a little like Amethyst. It's not a complete override by any means, but noticeable enough to be disorienting for friends and the belt wearer themselves.

So now I've got to find a way to stick a mental filter on the belt. Or something. Maybe they'd work better as Core Medals. That might make single person Fusions easier to maintain.

Jumps in Progress: Katawa Shoujo and Addams Family. I'm also working on a new Jump for Dan Gerous's Horror Chain. Going to dual release it along with my 25th Jump. Eventually. There'll be a short delay because I'm going to Comic Con today and tomorrow.

If you are a hollow from bleach and somebody looks at you with wizard sight or something to where they can see your soul would they see millions of other Souls Jammed together in a disgusting amalgamation of torment since hollows are built up on nations worth of souls?

Add Summoning from Overlord for enforced loyalty
>>
>>52223545
The way it reads, it seems like 5 minutes is just a starting point. I think I'm going to magpie a lot of the ideas presented and mash them together into an ultimate summoning device. Companion limits are for squares!
>>
>>52223576
Yeah I think.
>>
>>52223618
Oh you'll run into the other problem that large companion chains have before long.
>>
>>52223626
Which one?
>>
>>52223626
Companion build lists are a problrm they will figure out.how anyone keeps more than two after 30 jumps is beyond me.
>>
>>52223618
They are an outdated and dumb idea, yes.

What the hell was Quicksilver thinking. Oh wait, he wasn't.
>>
>>52223640
Companion build lists aren't an issue. Just keep everything in excel, and store a secondary backup on something like Cherrytree or Onenote.

>>52223638
The actual writing of it. Writing stories with massive casts takes a substantial amount of balancing to make sure that everyone gets the level of character development they need. Normally with eight you'd at least be able to split up your focus. If you start to move into the higher end of companion counts, anywhere from 100 to the thousands, it becomes an extreme ordeal to write all of them properly, even if you designate a majority of them as support cast.
>>
>>52223675
Good point. I didn't consider that.
>>
>>52223661

Probably that we weren't going to powercreep nearly this hard.
>>
>>52223711
Even if you're not writing it out completely in novel form, the problem still persists because over time you forget parts of the cast and their backstory. I've built an OC cast list for about roughly eleven or twelve years now, and out of the several hundred people in the cast, I really only know the full backstory and identity of maybe fifty, at most a hundred.
>>
>>52223661
That everyone would use diminishing returns on powerups.
>>
>>52223744
You really are dedicated to the craft. I was just looking for a cool toy to play with. I'm going to have to get more serious about this now. You've inspired me.

>>52223661
Come on man, there's no reason to start shit. Lots of people still use the rule of 8 and it works just fine.
>>
What can magic from innistrad do?
>>
>>52223779
You get attached after working on it for long enough, and starting young makes it easier, as long as you're willing to go back and help your earlier characters develop and mature as your own perspective changes. I use jumpchain more as a tool to play what ifs for my OCverse than anything, it's more fun for me that way. Don't have to give many shits about power levels because I always have the OCverse to fall back on too.
>>

Whenever you enter a Jump that only gives low-powered/mundane backgrounds like "highschool student" and such, how long do you keep up the pretense that you're just a normal person?
>>
>>52224177
Always normal, but usually exceptional in many ways unless I have a reason not to be.
>>
>>52222595
How about a perk based on the Abhorsen bloodline that extends the effect to magic in other jumps, letting you learn normally antithetical disciplines?
>>
>>52223618
If you have pods, you can overcome the 5 minute limit from the start.

use NGNL's Summoning to summon a companion. Pod them. When you're done, cycle the pod so it's empty again. Summon someone new, pod them, when they're done, cycle. summon. pod. cycle. summon. pod.

Then, you've got infinite companions, just with, a companion bandwidth of 1-7 depending on how many pods you bought.
>>
>>52223605
I'd think that depends both on the nature of the Sight they're using and the stage of Hollow evolution you're at. It would be most likely to show as a Gillian or Ajucha since they're still fighting for control with all of the souls swarming around inside of them. But then a Vasto Lorde, Fifth Form, or Arrancar has evolved past the Hollow's need to consume souls and digested the ones inside of them fully. But something like the Dresden Files Sight may still show something, considering how absolute its effects tends to be.
>>
>>52224177
Usually just go along with it. You can usually find time for jumper stuff while people think you're sleeping.

It's not like I'm at high school every jump and it is always an excellent opportunity for showing off.
>>
>>52224380
Now I'm imagining a dresden files wizard soulgazing something like Alucard or a Hollow (lots of souls inside) and then accidentally soulgazing a soul while in a soulgaze.
>>
>>52224419
>>52224380
Of course, on second thought, Harry has himself devoured a couple souls (well, not exactly, but ghosts are pretty close) and no one's seemed to comment on that.
>>
>>52224485
I can't really recall anyone commenting on what they've seen in a soul gaze, though. We get access to Harry's POV often enough, but it doesn't come up in conversation, and we don't know how others perceive his soul.
>>
>>52224518
True. Does tend to scare the shit out of people, though.
>>
>>52224485
When did Harry eat souls?
>>
>>52224552
In, uh, the third book. He ate both his own ghost (from when died and got revived) and the ghost of the warlock that was harrading him in his dreams.
>>
>>52224312
This seems like an interesting idea, and will probably make it in, although I've no idea how to price it.
>>
>>52224485
>>52224643
Yeah, but souls and ghosts aren't the same thing is Dresden. Ghosts are sorta just imprints, like magical AI or something, which is why messing with them isn't considered a crime like regular necromancy. Or something.
>>
>>52224177
not very and it's always one of the hardest and usually one of the most dramatic parts of a jump. How do you tell your parents that you to the essence of a hyperdimensional meta-entity and also you are already married? here is your grandson and great-grandson and their wives. it's one of the few things I actually like about drop in origins.
>>
>>52223720
He did that to himself by making psychic Batman a possible build in a CYOA based on Pokemon and giving InFamous some super powers that are still some of the cheapest in the chain. It's like throwing a grenade and then being upset when things blow up.
>>
>>52224685
No, fucking with ghosts is Necromancy. Just, what Mort does toes the line and isn't technically Necromancy for some reason. Wnd they're close enough that Corpsetaker's ghost bodystealing Mort would be effectively the same as her body hopping in life.
>>
>>52224698

He also tried to establish the general level early on by showing you that you were street level and the end game was Dragon Ball Z. You can't really say he shot himself in the foot when it's other people that brought it to this level, where planet busting isn't only a fairly common feat, it's expected once you're around long enough.
>>
>>52224717
>what Mort does toes the line and isn't technically Necromancy for some reason
He's not summoning or binding the dead- just talking with them, iirc.
>>
>>52224177
Really depends on what the background and setting is. I usually just fuck off immediately and ignore everyone since typically before jumping I wasn't the type of person to make friends irl, so I'm fairly certain no one would miss my jumper if they just disappeared. Or fake my jumper's death and then go off.

If I really gotta keep up the pretense that I'm normal I just go do stuff when people think I'm asleep or I become an A+ badass student.
>>
>>52224781
Even before Dragon Ball Z endjump came out it was already pretty clear that everyone else had taken jumpchain out of Quicksilver's hands. If he said something the community liked, the community would cheer him on. Otherwise he was a figurehead at best.
>>
>>52224863
Yeah, but that's not shooting himself in the foot though. The community carrying the baton isn't the same as the guy reaping what he sowed.
>>
>>52224781
>You can't really say he shot himself in the foot

You can given he set the precedent for being relatively powerful for whatever setting you're in.

It took about 5 jumps to be made for people to realize it was getting out of hand as people were already Harry Potter magic wielding jedi. 100 jumps in people were always going to end up being stupidly OP and it was naive to think otherwise given what we already knew 5 jumps in. I was one of the nerfwhores early on who tried to make it so a single jump didn't make all others redundant by offering to much but the whole "muh street level" thing was always laughable.

Speaking of power creep, here's the latest WIP of DxD, Holy Swords included.

Companions, Drawbacks, Fluff, maybe a capstone booster, and it's done. If anyone wants to suggest anything for those, now's the time to do so.
>>
>>52224907
Companion limits early on were stated very clearly to be around to explicitly stop you from carrying around an army, back when an army actually mattered though. Even if you were a magic wielding jedi, the consistent theme and thought was "there's only so much you can do by yourself, so this is a way of limiting how much help you can get at any one time so the focus stays on the small scale". Armies don't mean anything at the upper end though. If a Jumper is building for summons or minions or something, it's absolutely for fluff or taste purposes. If they're looking for power, they can get all the personal power they could ever want.. If something is a threat to a Jumper building that way now after Jumping for a while compared to back then, no amount of underlings or companions will truly gonna make a difference. At the levels we're at now, you either dominate or get fucked at the upper end.
Basically, the companion limit definitely made sense at the time. Numbers meant something at the time. It's only with age and incredible escalation that the limits became pointless. Quicksilver didn't have any way of seeing exactly where this was gonna with the intentions he had and tried to suggest. You can't compare "stupidly OP" of back then and "stupidly OP" of now for this since it's not even in the same ballpark.
>>
>>52224970
I feel like a shitty fanfiction drawback is practically mandatory. Highschool DxD is almost as bad as Naruto when it comes to character bashing, once you adjust for their relative sizes. Worse, in some ways, very few Naruto fanfics bash Naruto himself, but plenty of DxD fanfics bash Issei.
>>
>>52224782

I can't really give exact measurements, but considering Angels and Devils get superhuman strength at base, I imagine Dragons are a bit stronger than that. Samurai Jack lets you learn runic weapon enchantments.

Fable has augmentations.

Dragon Age has enchantment but it's not really that good.

I believe you might be able to learn how to create magical items and weapons in Percy Jackson and Harry Potter.

Settings/jumps based off mythology and legends should also have something that helps with forging or enchanting weapons.

And Marvel and DC have had legendary weapons pop up in a few stories so you might be able to work something out by studying the magic in those settings.

Regardless of whether it would lead to One True Build Syndrome, I think it would be funny to allow someone to have two Longinus just so they could buy both Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing. Play nice, Heavenly Dragons. Because you're stuck together for the rest of eternity. Your old hosts might have died someday, I'm living forever.
>>
>>52225156
If you want two you can just buy Boosted Gear and shove a broken piece of Divine Dividing into it. It will be horrifyingly painful and shorten your lifespan but neither of those things are likely to be an issue for a jumper.

I meant more like, a perk or item or something for a jumper to design creatures like that, even later on in other jumps. Besides it being part of the jump itself to create your own species?

>Do I render it as evolution, or do I do the 'parts' thing? What is a 'part'?
Maybe something like how EVO: Search for Eden handles it? Not sure how to do 'parts' though.

>Will it only account for what's in the game itself- or can you find parts beyond it?
I'd say go beyond what's in the game. Aside from inviting more creativity... You mentioned not-disallowing aquatic stuff, right? Would be hard to do without aquatic adaptations.

Though only if you use Divine Dividing's powers directly. If you manage to evolve Boosted Gear into a new form (Issei did it with Evil Pieces, but I'm sure it's possible in other ways) you can manifest Divine Dividing's powers through "Wyvern Fairies", little remote bits of armor that you can summon. The Wyvern Fairies can also manifest Boosted Gear's powers, too, allowing you to Boost things at a range. They can even fuse together on top of a person to give them their own Boosted Gear, though one without the later upgrades.

Speaking of Samurai Jack, I've got a couple questions about Summoning:

Are the summons intelligent/sapient? Is there a maximum distance they can be from you? Does it directly drain your magical power to power them/keep them active? If you killed someone and there's no way they have access to their power source later on when you summon them (say something like a Worm Parahuman) will their powers still function?

When has /jc/ not been autistic screeching over something trivial? That's what tossing on barriers like this comes off as.

If he's already going to slap a 1000 CP price cost onto it, he didn't need to gate it by quantity at all. If he wants to make it difficult, put in drawback combinations that'll kill the jumper if they try it.

It's the new 'Digimon'. Basically they're throwing out the entire Digimon series and replacing it with Applimon, which is based on smart phone apps and the Youkai Watch series.

Basically, they've killed Digimon to chase Youkai Watch dollars even as that series deflates.

>>
>>52225400
It depends on whether that would let you ascend to godhood and whether you could eat it in the first place.

You likely wouldn't be able to without out of setting perks and it'd kill you to try given Kagrenac's enchantments. If you have perks that give you the powers of the things you eat then obviously yes.

It's quite possible the heart is indestructible, it's also probably not entirely physical as it disappears and reappears in other places after it's tether to Red Tower is broken. It's a pretty fundamental part of the setting's metaphysics so you probably can't eat it and even if you tried to swallow it whole it more than likely wouldn't break down or would disappear again.
>>
>>52226211

You do realize Digimon Tri is still a thing, right?

It's just a spinoff.
>>
>>52226394
Digimon Tri is a nostalgia-grab anime special and started before Applimon was released. I imagine they'd cancel it if they didn't think the Adventure crowd would still give them money, it's like that thing Pokemon is doing with turning the old game plots into anime specials. Applimon is a multimedia series with both a real anime and games. It's the franchise moving forward.
>>
>>52226341
Worst part to me is how they're tossing out all the Digimon, as in the actual monsters, too.
>>
>>52226346
Well it's obviously possible to draw power from it like the Tribunal did. Maybe something like Adaptive Body from God of War?

Also, on a related note, I'm a little unsure of how Atronach works based on the wording. Does it work the same way it does sin the game with 50% chance of completely absorbing a spell or does it just absorb half every spell that targets you?
>>
>>52226464

Whoa whoa whoa, what the hell does that mean? That sounds really concerning. Why is this even a Digimon series if they're calling it something else, having it play like something else and not using any of the old material?
>>
>>52226487
That means all the designs are new. No Digimon are in Applimon. Like I said, the whole series is being tossed out.

>>52226219

Well the plot of the anime as I understand it (I've never watched it but know people who do), involves the four kids in pic related as they try to stop a computer virus called Leviathan or something.

Appmon don't 'evolve' like Digimon. Instead they fuse with other Appmon to become stronger in a process called AppFusion. So aside from their main Buddy Appmon each human also has other Appmon in order to reach higher forms.

>>52226523

I haven't been paying attention to Appmon or Youkai Watch, but it can't possibly be that bad.
>>
>>52226541
It's just a copy of Youkai Watch. That's it.

And look, the issue is less Youkai Watch sucking, and more that 1) Chasing Youkai Watch money is stupid when Japan is already tired of it and 2) They're tossing out THEIR ENTIRE FRANCHISE to make Applimon. The Digimon series is over and dead, not even any of the designs are surviving. All for Applimon. That's the spit in the face.
>>
>>52226149

While Tattletale's power is semi-indirect, something that works on an absolute and conceptual level would still block it.

A literal reading of Mind Blank, for example. It wouldn't prevent her using mental models with her power (which would be much more limited than Contessa's version), but it would completely prevent her Shard from divining any information about you.

I'm looking into it, and combined with what you and the other anons are saying, it's not even really Digimon outside of what they're calling it. Applimon share naming conventions and origins as "Digital Monsters", but they're called something different and don't evolve or transform outside of a fusion system like the one in Xros.

>I just think Bandai isn't stupid enough to throw away Digimon all to chase after Yokai Watch bucks.
Digimon was not profitable since a very long time ago. If Bandai made the decision to drop it, it would be completely understandable. You're not thinking in terms of how a corporation thinks because you're a consumer. A franchise doesn't matter unless it's constantly putting out more profit. Money is the only thing that matters in this equation. Even Tri was made fully realize that they'd only cash in on nostalgia bucks, and it didn't even hit record profits.

If Appmon is bad and it really is replacing Digimon altogether, then that sucks. I am not arguing against that.

It should be a 50% chance of triggering but you're right that that's not how it comes across in the jump. I've updated it here so it's hopefully clearer (i.e. not quite as misleading) and I've also buffed a couple of the other standing stones from lasting a minute to an hour as I think I already did that with Morroblivion but forgot to for Skyrim.

>>
>>52226876
Series aren't meant to last long nowadays, it's just not a model that works. The longer a product lasts, the more open it becomes to criticism. Corporations know that making a quick buck and getting immediate profits is what matters. You get things like No Man's Sky that are an excellent example of this. On paper sure No Man's Sky collapsed, but the money was made, and the people got rich regardless.

With the way markets are saturated, Digimon never had a chance, whether they wanted to call themselves by another name or use another design. This isn't the golden age where they had minimal competition, and they won't be able to break any new ground, not in terms of story, nor in terms of concept. If you're expecting the same type of success as back then, you're not going to find it.

Eight of them, in total. Seven daughterus, one sonu.

Elizabeth was the first, my child from Fire Emblem: Awakening in a dark timeline. She has grown into a fine young woman, and was even the wielder chosen by Balmung in Ragnarok Online as a result of her own development. Is also pic related as right now t'is one of a few placeholders I have for visualizing them until I get some art commissioned.

Yzzabelle is my second-born, originally adopted as the Egg of White from FF12: Revenant Wings. In Generic Parenting she became my child in full alongside Violet. She's a good person, but... a tad boisterous and unobservant. The bills for property damage are catastrophic when she fights.

Violet was the Egg of the Voidwyrm from Dissidia, and she's... Well, she's the sly and stealthy one compared to Liz's refinement and Yzzabelle's keet. Recently, in NH2, she picked up the Seal of Faust and has been learning a bit of how to be a Kamen Rider. Although... I'm fairly certain Ichigo would be slightly mortified at her methods.

Alice was born immediately in Generic Parenting, and was the quiet tomboy of the four. Always got into trouble growing up, but deep down was just trying to find her own road. I think her going the path of the Keyblade in Kingdom Hearts did wonders for that.

Nana was picked up in Elfen Lied, and there's not much to say there. After she found the DNA Voice was silenced, she became... such a sweetheart.

Eridan is my son - originally star-dragon hatchling from League of Legends. He's a bookwyrm (ha-HA, wordplay), and prefers the company of novels and tomes, mostly as he's really shy and a bit of a NEET. I gave him Overlordship of the Netherworld from Disgaea, but then have had the realization that... That may've been going way too far off the deep end. Still, he's done well. Although the first little bit was... full of panic.

And the last two are She-of-Fair-Eyes / SOFE / Sofie, and Makoto, next post.

She's even, after I've taught her my methods, been going through the effort of creating her own Driver - themed after the different Punk genres, with each transformation trinket being a "Matrix." Bio Matrix, Steam Matrix, etc.

and Makoto is... much like Yzzabelle, only squirrel-y and focused on boxing. The two were like glue when they first met and Makoto has since grown into a champion boxer. She is MUCH more mindful of potential destruction... At... least until she gets angry. After that happens I get a headache at the aftermath.

I have...hmm, let's see, Katsumi, Aella, Jeanne, some other kids that havent popped up yet need to finish the king arthur write-up so I can move on with my Fate Arc and then the Generic Parenting Arc

I'm a cool parent I think. I train them, and encourage them to think for themselves instead of blindly following my orders.

Katsumi is my daughter with Domon Kasshu. I had her in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War, along with Aella. She generally is very similar to her dad in that they really enjoy fighting and are prone to outbursts and yelling. She isn't a pilot yet because Domon was very adamant about her having a choice in being a pilot when we were raising her (Also Genealogy doesn't have materials for mobile suits). Nowadays she's showing interest in it, but she's better with swordplay than anything. She's a shounen protag. She went through some character development in Trigun and is a lot more mature about it now.

Aella is my second daughter in Fire Emblem: Genealogy of the Holy War. She's Lewyn's kid. She's a quiet, seemingly sweet person but boy oh boy does she have my massive anger issues. She's also probably the most tactical minded of the bunch and is the de facto leader among my kids. She also cares a lot about helping people and causing social change because she inherited the Will Of Foreseti and all that, which means she is naturally inclined to care about the well-being of people. She got her dad's Major Forseti Blood and can use the legendary wind tome Foresti. Aella gets REALLY pissed if you tell her wind magic sucks.

If they meet, Caster Gil is going to be very interested in seeing which part of her personality is actually the Will of Foreseti or not, and this will be a lot of character development for her. If I make a hypotically chain with her as the jumper she's going to summon him as a servant

I ran out of room so I'm gonna talk about Jeanne in my next post

She's either the worst Lunar ever, or 3/5ths of her profile's inaccurate.

>>52227753
Then there's Jeanne De Sand. She's my kid with George de Sand and I had her in ARIA. Much like Katsumi, she's a lot like her dad in that they both care deeply about being a knight and saving people. She's probably a Disney Princess in that she's always looking for adventure and is super nice. She's really self-conscious about being boring as a person for this reason so she started looking into having a talent for jokes and pranks, but she isn't very good with them yet

If she were to summon anyone, I think she'd ironically summon Jeanne (The Fate one). Not only because it's funny to summon her namesake, I feel like they'd be genuinely compatible together. Or Jeanne Alter, but I don't know enough about her to know for sure

Isn't that the question?

Largely though it'd be like the mantling thing in that it'd just fall off after the jump is over. I also realised that the answer I gave here:

>>52226346

didn't really address the fact Morroblivion was updated some time ago and the no ascending to godhood rule got taken out. Now if you're the Champion of Cyrodiil you can become Sheogorath, it just won't help you post jump. Eating the heart would be the same except it wouldn't because you probably still can't eat the heart.

>>52227373
Only the Dragonborn can absorb souls in the first place and this is seen as more convenient than decades of meditation and living with your fellow old codgers up a mountain. The perk lets you learn them just by finding word walls. The Dragonborn scenario revises that so you do need the dragon souls but post jump this doesn't matter as any words you know get unlocked automatically.

>>52227507
I thought I'd made an "it just works" ruling on this before but I've looked at the archives and I've only said the word cairn twice. Either way it just works without the Soul Cairn.

>>52227596
I guess but that isn't to say someone couldn't bypass the effect somehow, Dispel is a thing for instance and there'd probably be stuff out of setting that could disrupt it as well. Magic in the lore is presented as a lot more complex in the game and I always assumed that some of the more extreme exploits you could do in game either wouldn't work in the setting of there's a good reason not to (like that guy who kept boosting his own intelligence until he thought himself out of existence). It's largely down to fanwanking on how closely you think the game mechanics reflect the setting.

>>52227639
Hadn't really had any but I'll think about it.

>>52227765
Yeah I realised this was wrong as per the start of this post. The original question was based on an old note so I got confused. Now you can become Kirk the Tribunal but Kirk goes home post jump.

Anon was implying that the idea of a guy sitting on his ass throwing out random inflammatory comments which are probably copy pasted from a notepad file is dedicated. From the perspective of most folks that's just called being lazy and unproductive for a long period of time. Even prison inmates are more dedicated than that, and those guys are locked up. The refusal to change isn't called dedication, it's called laziness.

That's probably it, yeah.

Like,
>Unable to control her Tell
But the Tell's completely automatic, and is not something a Lunar needs to 'control'.
>animal, a hybrid form that is on average stronger and more agile that most grown men
She's unlikely to be merely better than an average man in her war form, unless she's focussed entirely on everything else. And it doesn't sound like she's better mentally/socially.
>and she can develope charms that basically involve her being a small werewolf, sans the wolf.
A hilarious understatement of a charmset, even the Lunar charms, and basically already accomplished by Deadly Beastman above.
>She has Moonsilver Tattoos, and therefore is relatively safe from the worst ravages of her own protean form and even some of the Wyld.
Uh, yeah. Her tattoos protect her entirely from "the ravages of her own protean form", not relatively. Absolutely. Also, protects against a lot more besides than just some Wyld stuff.

Turns out the Old Kingdom series has some pretty interesting L O R E, that lines up interestingly with jumpchain shenanigans. On a scale of 1 to 10, are perks allowed to do stuff like this?

When Worlds Collide (800 cp, discount DI): The Old Kingdom didn't always have the place known as Ancelstierre to its south, nor the Empty Lands to its north. By some process, entirely separate worlds can be connected at the boundary, and you now have access to that power. In future jumps, in addition to the options "Go Home", "Stay Here", and "Carry On", you receive a new option, "Merge World". When you take this option, you select a new jump as normal. Once you've entered your new jump, you'll find that the world of your new jump happens to share a border with the world of your old jump, including any changes you made in that jump. Any technologies and magic that are unique to one world will fail in the other.

Not very powerful magic. The idea is that true magic is far too dangerous for anyone sane to use, so they use a bound and intentionally limited version called the Charter. However, there are some beings of Free Magic still around, and the strongest of them can carve out their own little private realms. The very strongest, the Nine Bright Shiners, can make entire universes. The protagonist's cat is one of them. Do not take off his collar, it is all that keeps him bound.

The Old Kingdom (previously completely free magic, later bound by the Charter into a world by the Seven) was merged with Ancelstierre (which already existed) long, long, long ago, and I forget exactly why.
One of them gave much of her being to create Death. Which isn't so much a separate world as a spiritual meta-overlay thing.

Beyond that, there isn't much dimensional fuckery. The closest we get to space-time anything is charter skins, iirc.

I've got one guy telling me that these Gods can create universes at will. I've got the jumpmaker telling me they can destroy dimensions at will. The perk says you can fold dimensions onto each other like a katamari cube.

Just how important is any of this to the story? Do the Gods just start throwing universes at each other when they fight?
>>
>>52228355
This sounds like something the perk should do once your chain ends. Like you can make boundaries between your prior jumps after you stop jumping and past jumps unfreeze in time, but until then the border between the two jumps is more like a impenetrable wall.

Now the ability itself is fine if you limit it to within a current jumps multiverse. There are many jumps with different dimensions, so the ability to make a physical border between them would be neat. Should cost less, however.

On the other hand, some asshat jumpmakers make drawbacks that effect prior jumps beyond the current one, or bring in enemies from past jumps you have done. If those are allowed, I guess this could be as well. Maybe.
>>
>>52228796
Because honestly the way it's described makes it sound like a trainwreck that isn't worth reading. I don't see how my reaction is any different from the ones that a lot of people have towards Fate or whatever else is popular here.

Essentially, the gods don't fight in the story, ever. All of them are either dead, bound, or turned themselves into a bloodline or power source. The world-destroyer gets unbound at one point, but he never actually ramps up before he gets sealed again.

>>
>>52228840
Look, it's not that complicated. There's a universe of magic. Long ago, for unclear reasons, a permanent portal was made to a non-magical universe. That portal is the Wall. On one side of it there's magic, on the other side there isn't. Then on the side that there is magic, there's an underworld where dead things go. That's all the universes in the story. All the other ones are just things mentioned in background lore as stuff that happened when the gods were young and creation unfinished.
>>
>>52228797
>I've got one guy telling me that these Gods can create universes at will.
Well that's bullshit. Astarael spends most of her time BEING death. It's hardly at-will, more like a full-time job. And like the Disreputable Dog says (and Orranis, later) they've all been much diminished.

>I've got the jumpmaker telling me they can destroy dimensions at will.
That's just Orranis, and he doesn't destroy dimensions, he just nukes all life on a planet and moves on.

>The perk says you can fold dimensions onto each other like a katamari cube.
The PROPOSED perk said you can merge dimensions, in the same way the Old Kingdom and Ancelstierre are connected. In other words, define a boundary, and have the two meet at that boundary. And that perk was shot down pretty much universally, because it's not only way too meta, it's also way too powerful for the setting. The Wall (where the merge is) is a major part of the setting and story.

>Just how important is any of this to the story?
Pretty important, as the dual worlds thing is the basis of much of the conflict in the past, and plays a large role in various plots.

>Do the Gods just start throwing universes at each other when they fight?
No. The gods are all invested in their various workings/bloodlines (and no longer exist, effectively), quiescent, or bound.

>>
>>52228825
Honestly with that last sentence where power and tech are exclusive to each world, the perk as it is works fine. The wording on the perk isn't the greatest, but at the same time the change is harmless, and the ability is somewhat unique, with its own aesthetic rather than just being a modified Doormaker. If you start using precedence to argue it we've also had far worse as far as meta goes, so it feels like people are just screeching because the original wording wasn't the best.
>>
>>52225017
Well it's not exactly what you asked but there is an ability in DC Occult has the moving finger writes that lets you use magical energy instead of paying the price for a spell. So you should be able to use TES enchanting without the downside. Though I would suggest having an absurd mana pool to do it.

Yrael was not "unbound for...days". He still had his sealing collar on him, though in the form of a belt to reflect him being in human shape rather than a cat. He was not operating at full power, his bindings were loosened but not removed. And the Disreputable Dog doesn't count, either, by her own admission she's far diminished from how she used to be.
>>
>>52228975
Where's the argument? The jumpmaker already said he'll go with majority here if it means getting the jump on the drive. The most vocal folks seem to be arguing for this to be a dimension merger perk, there doesn't seem to be any argument against it. Makes me wonder what the other caps will be if this one lets you connect dimensions to one another, but that's speculation, not argument.
>>
>>52228797
>Do the Gods just start throwing universes at each other when they fight?
No. for the big stuff, it seems to require them to cast from their Permanent pool of powers. Like they are sentient concentrations of magic, and stuff like that requires the part of themselves spent on grand workings be bound to that working. It permanently diminishes them. At least creation. Maybe they can destroy absorb stuff to take any magic contained or maintaining it into themselves. But the ones left are the ones that 'refused to shine' and chose to not commit suicide doing stuff like that.

It doesn't grant CP, and it doesn't fiat-merge metaphysics, so it's fine.

It's effectively similar to the Blue Feather (with negated pods as being important) in that it replaces a limited resource (in this case, the Return option). The Return option already existed, and if people want to have stories about their jumper in the land of many lands, fuck it, it doesn't hurt anyone else.

Ultimately, it's up to the reader to choose to take the ability.

It is a beginning, to be sure, but you cannot expect to improve if you start out with such a weak base. No, real smug is meant to draw out emotion in the beholder, like rage or indignation. 8man, bless his soul, simply doesn't possess the necessary qualities for this, as his dead fish eyes diminish any smug he could bring to bear. A better example would be something like this. It is simple, yet elegant, and supplies any addressed parties with the knowledge that their place lies beneath you.

I distinctly remember him being all "oh shit, gotta keep this bell from ringing or else I'll just become a cat and be unable to get there in time to help her". Maybe after he got unsealed in the first book. Sabriel put another layer on him as a backup that would kick in on its own if the first one wasn't put back in time.

Thinking about it, I have to agree with this point. That's really the only issue it has, that it makes a Return pointless as long as this perk was taken beforehand. But even then, how many people will actually take the perk and merge every world together if the perk was left as is? We already have folks either ignoring Return outright or ruling that they can use Return however many times per a number of worlds.

Not really. Some people do entire chains without pods. Many people argue that they were a poor idea in the first place, based on a different view of JC as it would become.

It is different from removing the Chain part of Jumpchain. It is different from an effect that lets you get all the good bits of a jump and then just walk on back to your personal vacation world every time.

Honestly with jumpchain the way it is already I can see that statement of yours working in both cases. There's already nothing stopping a person from just hopping into a personal realm and chilling for ten years. That doesn't sound right, but if you insist...It's been a while, I admit I don't remember Sabriel as well as the other books. I guess Yrael was also diminished, then. So it's just Orannis that has the possibility to regain his full power after being unbound? Because I definitely know that was a thing, the characters were very worried about their limited timeframe to rebind him. Maybe has something to do with his nature as the Destroyer, he didn't put any of himself into making the world, or something like that?

It's because he fucking explodes, with enough power to wipe out all life on a planet, just by existing. One more question that just occurred to me since you made both jumps:

If I have a clone (from Teen Titans) summon something with that power, will that prevent me from summoning something? If not, then if I dismiss the clone and then summon another one, will that one be able to summon again or will it have to wait until the next day? If you summon a bunch of clones, do they all share the same cool down for summoning?

Are the combinations in the game the only one we can learn, or can we take the non highlighted words on the wall and find more combinations, or get tutoring from dragons in setting, like the one who taught the graybeards?

Also, you need to make more jumps (The drones need you. Think if the drones,)

How about a Judge Dredd (the campy Stalone movie, not the comics) Myrmidont in doing the Gritty Dredd Movie, and the comparison and contrasts in different genres would be interesting, especially of you took a canon companion from one jump to the other!

Bayonetta allows you to manually select a magical focus that you can use to influence the form of your magic and can be used to replace other magical focuses. Fate/Stay Night has a perk for getting good at magic based around a certain theme, including creating spells that reflect that theme.

Actually, the rules for exalting a mortal say you immediately get your starting charms. Aside from xp gaining, rules for PC and NPC are the same.

No, you and your (1st) clone both have your full power. I wanted to buy summon 3 times to pull off a Faerie Queen from Worm, but was told only one purchase of Summon was allowed. As an alternative, using stuff like the clone power from Teen Titans to fake it was mentioned instead. So that would let you and you clone each have a summon out.

Yeah, I'm that anon. I was referring to how casually they treated mobile suit weapons as not a threat to ship-grade nanolaminate armor. This raises the question of "why even use mobile suits in space warfare in the first place?". That's why they're used in other Gundams, because they can use their mobility to get in close with a ship and destroy them. But if a mobile suit without a Dainsleif can't destroy a warship, who cares about them? The only reason to send them out is to fight other mobile sutis, but why would your enemy send out mobile suits that can't do anything? This is then made even more confusing two episodes later, when Mikazuki destroys a ship with a hit from his mace. Not just smashes the bridge, though he does aim at it, the whole damn ship explodes. So can mobile suits destroy ships? Were the writers downplaying the effectiveness of mobile suit weapons in that episode just to make the Dainsleif sound more impressive? But then Shino stakes his life (and fails super hard) trying to hit Rustal's ship with a Dainsleif instead of sending Mikazuki to smash it up, so I guess you do need Dainsleif? Hell, why do Iok and Rustal deploy their Dainsleif cannons as mobile suit battalions? Why not just put them on their ships as turrets? They're sniping from long range anyway, it's not like they need to flank the enemy. So I guess what I'm saying is that I was wrong to phrase it as nanolaminate causing plot holes. It's Dainsleif that causes plot holes.
>>
>>52230568
If you think this is real NTR posting then you've probably never seen any of their fetish posts before. Using buzzwords isn't anywhere close to NTR posting. Should probably get educated before shooting from the hip anon.
>>
>>52230408
>Actually
>rules for exalting a mortal say you immediately get your starting charms.
One, citation please.
Two, I think you are reading a section about starting your (PC) character is a mortal in a prologue. That is so going from mortal to exalted in play does not cost you, the player, starting charms.
Three, the books are inconsistent (and even PC backstories) on that matter. the starting charms a PC has can be stuff they got by initial exaltation. Or they could have just manifested one the few they needed to survive whatever made them exalt, and developed the rest after exaltation but before the campaign started.
Fourth no, NPC's and PC are NOT treated the same. PC's have XP for one, which in not tracked for NPC's. They have their stat block, regardless of if it would be legal for a PC.

>>52230838
You mean he's getting in the way of McGillis being a huge chuuni. Choco-Char even started cosplaying as Agnika, recently. Give it up, man.
>>
>>52230628
Aaah. I see what you meant now.

It could have something to do with how assbackwards people's knowledge of how things work in the setting is.

They say they developed Mobile Suits to fight Mobile Armors, so it stands to reason that Dainsleifs were developed as anti-MA weapons, right? They may just be using really old Dainsleifs that they only know how to make more ammunition for, and using them as Mobile Suit weapons for fear of breaking them.

As for the effectiveness of Mobile Suits vs warships, I'm going to speculate that maybe they're only effective at weak sections of the ship- the bridge in non-combat mode, the engines, etc. Since the majority of ships are the ramming/gun element, then there isn't much chance for you to actually hit a weakpoint in a mobile suit.

That, and I guess it's why aircraft carriers are more effective than just adding more guns to a battleship. It's additional attack vectors and usable combat units. Sure, the gun may be punier compared to what you can mount on a ship, but they expand the capabilities of the ship far more than a gun can. Not as good of a comparison in light of the Nanolaminate, but still.
