Jumpers!
Tell me. How often do you cook? And do you have any specialties in the kitchen?

I bake. Often. Baked goods are delicious.

Alright, so I can't really fulfill my promise on making a custom Sacred Gear table like I promised. Most I can promise is a mix of canon and OC Sacred Gears you're allowed to fanwank the Sub-species and Balance Breakers if (if not revealed in canon). Holy Swords will be handled in a similar way.

That said, any particular canon ones you'd want to see on the list, or items you would suggest?

Having no knowledge of Highschool DxD, I can't really suggest anything, though a Sacred Gear that allows you to emulate biblical Metatron and become a giant mecha angel would be cool, if that's a thing that they can do.

Is that all you've got? Because you've gone and done yourself a bad time if it is.
Naruto escalates like a motherfucker and you didn't take things that help you keep up.
Normally that wouldn't be the biggest problem, but since you've shot your training to hell and are going to get involved with the plot in a fighting manner you're probably screwed.
>>
>>52201027

I pan fry stuff for the most part, but I enjoy baking quite a bit as well, usually with a couple companions who enjoy leisurely cooking. As a side thing, Jumper made an all in one snack maker using the portable berry mixer from Pokemon as the base design. It's a bit bulkier, but the blades and motor are stronger and the compartment has heating coils or whatever insert technobabble here that causes the little bastard to cook stuff as well before compression. It basically means I can throw stuff in and it'll get minced and cooked perfectly based on inputted settings before coming out in cube form. Nice for tart berry snacks, bullion cubes, seasoning pods and nutrient packed shots that you'd use to skip a meal if in a hurry similar to a granola bar or something. I've sold them in a few worlds. Advertised on children friendly snacks and soup stock potential.

Brilliant Engineer- Theories are one thing, but actually applying your knowledge is another; luckily, you can be good at both. You’re a very good engineer, and with enough time and resources you are capable of creating battle suits that greatly enhance the strength of the wearer, invisibility suits (driving the wearer crazy is optional), vehicles on par with the Batmobile and even lifelike automatons. Your creations could be a powerful tool for both good... and evil. (400 CP, discount Scientist)

Silicon Surgeon- The age of analog is over; it’s time to go digital! You’re capable of constructing rudimentary AI, and with time can construct machines that think and feel like a human does; what’s more, you’re also capable of creating machines and programs that interface with the mind, such as virtual realities. You’re also skilled enough to ensure that these machines won’t harm those who use them… or that they do. (400 CP, discount Scientist)

Can't sleep, might as well work on a Jump.

Katawa Shoujo Version 0.4

+ Filling in the Perks is going well. Could use some suggestions for the 200 level if anyone is of a mind to help. Especially for Rin's perk line.
+ Maintaining tone pretty well, I think.
+ Debating on Canon Companions options. Either just tossing in one blanket option like the norm or adding in more specialized ones like I did in FLCL. Thoughts?
+ Intro is pretty well finalized. Still have to do Origin and Location, but I lost my touch with the tone and set it aside for the moment.
+ Had to reject the idea of a Teacher Origin. As much as I would like to add that option, there's just not enough material on the teachers. Hell, the Nurse isn't even given a name. Outside of the Art Teacher and Science Teacher, we don't see much of them in the material presented. And they're so different it would be hard to mesh the two into a Perk Line.

As always, questions, comments, suggestions are appreciated.

Martial Discipline- You’ve received training in many martial arts, from the ancient disciplines of Asia to more modern styles of combat. Training with so many masters and the refinement of your technique has elevated you to a level most martial artists never reach. You’ve mastered practically every martial art known to man, including armed and unarmed styles, and are also fairly skilled at using firearms- even though you may loathe using them. (400 CP, discount Bat-family/Vigilante)

“Peak Human”- You’ve trained your body to the peak of human potential, and maybe a little bit beyond that; you’re capable of leaping nearly 10 feet vertically, can open an elevator door with your bare hands, keep up with a run-away-bus, and can replicate and maybe even outmatch any Olympic feat an athlete has done. You also have incredible control over your body’s functions and are as flexible as humanly possible. Needless to say, you have really good genes. (400 CP, discount Bat-family/Vigilante)
>>
>>52201262
Shame about no Teacher Origin, but that's fair. I didn't consider that you were going to go Single Origin like Bloodborne did. Looks pretty good so far.

>How often do you cook?
I often cook every meal.
My companions tend to complain if they have to eat something that I didn't make. More than once I have returned to find a literal trench war going on over leftovers of my cooking.

Let this be a lesson to the rest of you. Don't go grabbing all the high tier cooking perks you can get.

I can't keep track of how many things Blade has staked claim on, and how many things he's pulled a SJ-Chan and gone I think I can make this jump on. For a while I thought he had made the most jumps on the drive because everything people brought up had his name associated to it.

Item sections are the bane of my existence.

>>52201419
Including the one just now, I have seven claims.
>>
>>52201027
Everyone for themselves, except for Supper time. Usually around 5:00 or so relative to the current Jump, every single one of my Companions convenes at the Warehouse, and we sit down and have a large supper. I do most all of the Cooking, allowing Companions to assist if show interest. I have that Undertale Cooking Perk that lets you make any food you cook healthy when cooked with magic, so I often serve what would ordinarily be severely unhealthy foods, like Greasy, Dinner-style Burgers and Fires, or large assortments of exotic, Tempura'd Veggies and Fish.
>>
>>52201027
I cook breakfast every morning, and my specialty is food that is meant to be chopped up and served all in one bowl. Hash, breakfast rice dishes, porridge.

My companions take turns for the rest of the meals, but my jumper needs less sleep, so mornings are his time.

The single Origin seems to make the most sense given the source material. Plus it frees me up to think a little outside the box on the Jump format, which helps.

>>52201027
Generally about three or four times a week, depending on how the chore rotation works out and events in the world are going. There's only five of us with thumbs all the time so that limits the options somewhat. Breakfasts and Dinners are family affairs whenever possible while Lunches tend to be grabbed on the run. I end up with more cooking shifts than the others because I enjoy it and hate doing laundry, so it's a trade off.

I specialize in breads and meat dishes, but I have a wild love affair with desserts of all kinds. I am also not allowed to use magic in the kitchen anymore. Ever.

One of these days I'm going to get the Four Amigos some thumbs so they can take their turn in the kitchen. For non-cookers, they are awfully fussy with their desired meals.

>>52201444
Essentially what the others said. Since it was open for replacement and I needed something to break my writer's block on my other projects, I picked it up.

>>
>>52201403
Not YJ_Anon?! Haven't heard that name in a while... Thanks for the heads up, anon.

>>52201441
I'll repost what I've already posted in thread real quick, although I did decide to buff one of the old 100 CP Vigilante perks (Friend of the Police) a bit and moved it to 200 CP, replacing it with this:

The Flying Jumper- Well, you might as well be flying; you’re extremely acrobatic, and can somehow swing from building to building with a grappling hook without breaking your arm or tearing it out of its socket. You’re also more than capable of using your dexterity in a fight, almost dancing between the blows of your less skilled opponents. Maybe you learned this by watching Batman’s sidekick? (100 CP, free Bat-Family/Vigilante)

And here's the other 200 CP Vigilante perk while I'm at it:

Disappearing Act- You’re extremely good at staying unheard and unseen when you want to be, almost seeming to merge into the shadows and letting you get the drop on almost anyone. Your knowledge of stealth also allows you to pull off an unusual trick of Batman’s; with almost preternatural skill, you’re capable of finding a hiding spot or rushing silently out of sight in the span of a few seconds; enough time that a person could be looking at you, turn away, and look back and not find a single trace of where you went. (200 CP, discount Bat-Family/Vigilante)

And the other stuff: http://pastebin.com/jZhPdryn

Anyways, it's getting late over here and the 400 CP Drop In perks aren't quite ready to show off. But I have one last thing to show for the night before I turn in...

Ketchup and Mustard Guns- Used by the “conceptual” Condiment King, the Sultan of Sauce and Prince of Pickles, during his crime spree. These two weapons fire streams of ketchup and mustard from two large tanks, which are worn on the back; your opponents won’t relish meeting you, as the guns spray with enough force to throw a grown man several feet if fired at close range. But if that doesn’t cut the mustard you’ll also receive several packages of hot sauce for your reign of terror. Your supplies of ketchup, mustard, and hot sauce will replenish over time. If you wish, you may also receive the rest of the Condiment King’s outfit. (50 CP)

Farewell, my Fullbring powers. I shall miss you.
I actually really like the Fullbringers. They had neat personalities and quirky lateral thinking type powers, and they've got the whole underdog thing going for them both from a power levels and story perspective. They're my favorite filler villains.
It's just too bad they're not actually filler.

But I digress. The powers list here for Fullbringers are not great, and I've already been a Hollow, and I'll chew off my right arm before I become a Quincy or a Soul Reaper, so we're doing this.
Actual filler villains are go!
We're doin it!
WE'RE PLAYIN THE FEUD.

So, hey, did you know that dolls are supposed to be equivalent to a soul reaper's sword? Like, their manifestation of power and how it relates to the owner is the same. At least, that's what the wiki says. Of course, that was stated before the asauchi were revealed to be a thing.
>>
>>52202021
That jump's going to be majorly updated soon, just FYI.
>>
>>52202050
But if that were to be taken at face value, that would say very interesting things about a possible fusion between a doll and hollow powers.
The primary difference between the two (aside from dolls not showing the same power reach), is that dolls are far more autonomous (to the point that it's possible for them to attack their owner), and the ritual required to create them utilizes expenditure of elements made up of a human body (iron, magnesium, etc) as opposed to the zanpakto soul mashup. In addition, there are similarities in a Bount and a Hollow's consumption of souls in order to gain power.
At the very least, I think this shows an interesting path of research.

Anyway, I'm a Bount.
Jin's kindof sad, in retrospect. He was all, "I want to destroy Soul Society for VENGEANCE!", and then he gets, like, Bankai level powers, and declares that he is strong enough to destroy Soul Society! And it's like, HAH! Haha. No. No, Jin.
You were not even close.
So, I think it's safe to let Jin do whatever the fuck he wants to do, since it's doomed to fail anyway.
That said, I'll probably go out of my way to save Yoshino, seeing as she's also supposed to die by canon.
I mean, I wouldn't get my free companion otherwise!
You're a filler character, Yoshi. Nobody cares if you have to put up with my shit.

So, research, save a lady, what else.
I guess since I'm showing up ten years early, it'd be pathetically easy to become a trusted cast member ...

> + Reishi [-200PP]
> Weapon Creation [Get a Freebie!]

> Fusion [-500PP]

Right, the Doll. Ceebee is my sword, Chaosbringer. From Dissidia. Chaosbringer has the ability to consume other swords to gain their power. Which is HILARIOUSLY broken in this setting.
Additionally, its doll powers from this jump give it the power to extract spiritual energy from people and even the space around it for a power boost.
I also imported it as that demon spear thing in Hero BBS, and as a device in Nanoha, so it's got a bitchin' demonic core eye thing in its chest and has the mind of a demon king.
And also it's living form is a Leafeon, because Leafeons are cuddly.

With combined Flesh/Reitsu/Wood elements, I think that would make a pretty good approximation of... whatever the fuck Soul Reapers are made of. Reitsu and Flesh, I guess. But also with Leafy bits.
Probably not the strongest thing to make a doll out of, but it's CUTE and that's what matters.

... so. Right. What was I talking about?

If he's new, it's not that stupid for him not to have a clue who Dirge is. Dirge himself was only active in bursts, basically would show up, dump 5 jumps, then leave. That and he'd always do it just as a thread was about to die, so he barely had any thread presence at all. If you didn't like one of the niche settings he turned into jumps, it's very likely that you'll go through entire chains without stumbling on his work.

I don't think many people here at all know what Dirge is like personally, and since people just shitpost all the time now, it's actually kind of reasonable not to have a clue who he is. I think most IRC fags don't even know what Dirge's chain is like.
>>
>>52202090
I just remember when he used to actually be friendly.

Now it seems like, even in SB, he doesn't give a shit about remotely anyone.
>>
>>52202080
Bounts are keeping their customization, supposedly, with Shinigami just having a lot of canon examples and OCs to give you a guideline for how to make up your own. Don't remember what the deal with the others was gonna be.

So, you're probably gonna be fine.
>>

>>
>>52202212
Always.
>>
>>52202212
Depends on the jump JK yes
>>
>>52202125
Except he was never friendly. Dirge as a jumpmaker was remarkably distant and it was really obvious that he put up a facade most of the time to put up with people. That was part of his niche as a jumpmaker, the fact that he could do everything standalone, with minimal input from the community. Hell, he even said it specifically with every dump that he was merely doing it as a courtesy. If you ever spoke to him in PMs you'd know the grievances he had, we just convinced him to put up with all the shit and hope things would get better. When it didn't, he stopped trying.

There are plenty of people who can tell you that Dirge didn't give a shit about people, he only cared about writing and improving on the writing. If you thought he was friendly, you just got fooled by his facade. It's very apparent who he does care about as a friend and those individuals have never changed.

People have a right to know the truth behind things, if he harassed you, there's no reason why people should still be defending him like they do. Now back to the 'chain.

Anon's bizarre jumpchain #13:
Gravity Falls

Origin: Charlatan
Age: 15
- I feel like cuteness perk would work pretty weirdly if I was 40 something.

Location: 6. Suburbs

Perks:
opening sequence
Tales designed
Widdle ol' jumper (900)
- You know, mentally being over 100 and even physically being a teenager makes this perk really weird.

Can't con a con man (700)
never take me alive (400)
fixin' it with jumper (300)
Hidebehind (100)
- I am the night.

Items:
Book of codes (50)
merchandise
president's key (-50)
-This seems pretty overpowered for its price, but how many USA's are there in the multiverse?

House
photocopier (-250)
- ... Again, seems rather overpowered.

Lifetime supply of sweaters (-300)
Trust someone (-600)
Mary (Mystery kid):
Age: 13
Perks: where is it, dipper depths, MANLY, monster physique: endurance

Dal (mystery kid):
Age: 9
Perks: Where is it, journalist, dipper depths

Tale (Local)
Age: 23
Perks: High tech hootenany, fixin it with jumper, lumberjack games, tales designed

Nym (Journal entry):
Perks: Dream demon, minions, cosmetic appearance change

Mimi (Drop in):
Perks: Match made, arts and crafts master, open minded, fixin' it

Drawbacks:
Journal page in all journals (-300)
Let's make a deal (0)

Well, this was not a fun situation. But hey, Bill was expressed whenever mentioned to not be trusted in the journals, and people trusted him all the time! And i'm completely harmless! At least, I was then. I wasn't even sure I could die.

Good thing that I didn't have to make many deals. Nym's dream demon status made communication with everyone easy, and we managed to nab the interdimensional rift and prevent Bill from starting weirdmageddon. Bill is still out there somewhere, but nothing happened in my stay, so let the world catch fire. Not my job to put it out.

>>
>>52202434
It's public knowledge that OneArmedAnon was working on Protoss and Air Gear. I don't see why OneArmedAnon has any reason to lie about Dirge harassing him. Are you trying to insinuate that he's lying? >>
>>52202565
...I do acknowledge that it's kinda OP. That said, being bullshit durable is the sandbag's entire shtick.

But, it scales to speed. If aren't capable of going that fast, and, if you aren't currently going that fast, you aren't that durable.

The perk says nothing about it scaling based on your current speed. You need to go through this and seriously rethink a bunch of this if you want to make this a real jump.

There's tons of stuff in here that just feels like a shopping list of perks with only a slight connection to the actual game as more of an excuse for them being there.

86. Kirby's Dreamland
Location: Bubbly Clouds
Origin: Star Warrior, Age: 16
Copy Power: Bow
Perks: Vacuum Immunity, Hyperactive Metabolism, Dream Power, Star Knight (Bow)
Vehicles: Battleship

So, I just fight the bizarre eldritch abominations as they appear and in the meantime I live in the fluffy cloudlands? Sounds like a good deal, really. I even have a skyboat to help out, but I can't imagine using it to it's full potential. Maybe ramming away the outer shell of the creatures when and if they have one. Frankly, we have Kirby and he's usually good enough to handle anything. If he gets lost you can just leave a trail of candies back to the path and he'll fall back on track.

Still, I need to figure out a way to get this ship into the fogbank around the Archipelago by skimming it across the water, without crashing into one of the islands or sinking the thing to the bottom of the sea. So, between attempts and repairs I can try about once a month. Just skimming a giant spaceship across the ocean water without letting it sink.

I think I like the simplicity of this place.

Wow, pretty cool, thread OP. So, with two perks, durability that scales with speed and speed that scales with durability, you have infinite speed. >Eating carp

Carp is a trash fish. You want catfish, bass, crappie, pike, walleye, perch, trout, salmon. All good freshwater fish good for eating. Catfish is easy to fish for because they're so chill, just put some stinky bait in the water and wait. If catfish comes along at swallows the bait. Reel it in.

Bass, Crappie & Perch are predators that are more active. You really gotta get their attention which they'll chase your bait & swallow. Crappie & Perch love the weeds so they can easily tangle your line if not careful.

IDK much about Salmon, Trout or Walleye fishing.

Bayou here, can confirm that catfish is tasty. Also salmon.

Lobster is really good. Also alarmingly cheap if you live nearby the ocean. But that can be said of most seafood.

87. Generic Virtual World
Age: 21, Origin: Programmer
Location: Red LED District
Perks: White Hat, Data Breaker, Coding Zen, Word of Flynn, Similar Subsystems, Exploitation Now
Items: Limited Edition Avatar, Augmented Reality Layering, Simsuit
Drawbacks: Finger On The Pulse

So, here is the plan: We shove the Trolls into the ghost holes and use their data as seals to stop the emerging afterlife from ending the world as we know it. This takes pretty much all the perks I bought here to get near accomplishing, and even then I'm relying on hundreds of wares to pick up the slack.

I have a specific job in every battle against a troll: first I take advantage of Exploitation Now, Similar Subsystems, Data Breaker, and Coding Zen, throwing in some spiritual awareness/sensory boosting perks, to break holes in the trolls defenses, then the real combat begins and a rush of Beta Testers, AIs and wares are sent through the breach and into war with the creature itself. I keep on creating and exploiting weaknesses and sending troops in. Then, when they're weak we shove them into the hole in the afterlife and I nearly crash the server converting them into a sealing being using all the perks bought here, the hacking perks I've picked up through my chain, my ability to channel energy through my stand, and several purifying perks.

It doesn't get any easier as we go through every server to handle their damn ghost problem, and building an army of beta testers, wares, and hackers to counteract the issue got us labeled as the Disaster in year 8, just before the fight with Pirate Admiral Penny Burgess. Penny was one of the four human great trolls, and the only one still attached to his human body. I was the first person to intentionally induce physical/data body separation. It could no longer be considered some strange accident. They took five minutes to decide to shut down the server temporarily, but by then we had scattered across the VW. I never heard from any who stayed again.

The king of scones. The alien mercenaries. Mole people. Even Galgam. Lawsuits were launched against me, and through the magic of high paid lawyers I prevailed, even though it tied up my time in court. They wised up and started using court dates as a diversion so they could get away with their evil plots, as well.

And boy, weren't they surprised when they discovered I could be in two (or three, or NINE!) places at once.

I have a hypothesis that we might be better off not replacing all the "shitty" jumps. By all means make new, better ones for related IPs, but don't replace them.

If newcomers decide they want to make jumps, I think it might actually deter people from trying to start if all the jumps are elaborately-imaged mini-novels. A case of the bar being set too high, in other words.

Whereas if there are still a few dodgy ones on the drive, it might encourage people to go "At least I'm pretty sure I can do better than that, I'll take a shot at making one".

88. Generic Dungeon Building
Age: 19, Origin: Hero
Location: The Centerlands
Perks: To Help People!, Redemption=Life, Rising To The Challenge, For The Greater Good
Dungeon Heart: Core
Themes: Jumper's Theme, Dungeon Towns
Facilities: Inn, Bank
Monsters: Binding, Monster Safety, Humanoid Forms
Dungeon Perks: True Maze, House of Leaves
Puzzles: Temple of the Item, Skill Tests
Items: Dungeon Chests, Consequence Tablet
Drawbacks: Metacritic, Plucky Adventurers, Jumpers Nightmare

It's a training dungeon designed as a test to determine if future heroes are ready to face the monsters and villains of the world. The themes and facilities were chosen to handle a wide variety of zones and the monsters are supposed to look like people in rubber suits. The consequence tablet is meant to eject the defeated safely from the dungeon and make them drop their gear. Vendors outside the dungeon will happily sell replacements and by gear from inside the place. I rearrange areas if I feel people aren't being tested enough, and would-be merchants are welcome to set up shops in town as well, though their taxes are slightly higher than native monsters. Depending on how far you make it, you get a ranked Adventurer's License, guaranteeing a certain level of competence.

The dungeon is populated mostly by my adventuring in the overworld, defeating monsters without killing them, and then binding them to appropriate parts of the dungeon in ecosystems most closely matching their habitats. Though their biology is changed, they still mostly function similarly enough for it not to be a problem.

I just shut the dungeon down in the last year and use my hero experience to make it down to the bottom. Some of the monsters got into my powers, but overall it's not too bad. I do have the experience in getting my ass-kicked to know how to kick my own ass.
>>

Technically yes, but global rules 3 and 6 are both mostly up to the moderator's discretion. Though those posts arguably violate those rules, knowing that would require a moderator be aware of the pattern of behavior of the poster doing it and their general history in jumpchain threads. Also if the moderator does not consider the report to be of merit, then they can consider you to have violated rule 7. So unless a moderator decides that jumpchain is a cool thing and start watching the threads, in which case we wouldn't need to report anything anyway, you can basically expect that reporting the guy would be largely pointless.

It would actually be easier to get the bodacious babes anon banned if he were to continue, because it's far easier to see that the catchphrase is in violation of rule 3. As you would otherwise have to somehow get a moderator to understand that the guy accusing everyone of being Dirge is doing so to incite an argument(trolling as covered by rule 3), and is in general a shitposter(violation of rule 6).

And to be honest, jumpchain threads do not deserve a moderator to themselves.

The more I hear about bayou food, the more I do a mental 180 about american cuisine. The way I heard US turtle soup made sounds hilariously exotic compared to the chinese recipes.

It's a second calling of mine! Partly because it's a manifestation of my nature as a refiner and preserver. But mostly because it tastes delicious.

I experiment with all kinds of cuisines, with a preference for Chinese styles just because of the sheer quantity of herbs, meats and condiments I have available. To really work in those authentic cooking conditions, I still use ceramic woks and pots. People sometimes think it's all about the sauces. It's not; I mean, yes-unicorn steak is tenderised by a spicy coating of peppercorns, garlic and rock sugar but the real secret's simple: Organic, fresh ingredients prepared with all the passion a dispassionate machine-god can muster. Stocks and cooking wines are equally important-the Bastion was a godsend-as culinary azoths, to bring out the nutrition of harder nibbles like bones and marrying them with the most succulent herbs and funghi in the multiverse.

I enjoy Korean-style hotpots/barbeques, Japanese bentos/noodles and the odd curry.

American food isn't just one thing really. There's a bunch of stuff that's American, just its classified under other stuff. Like you have "Chinese" food and 'Italian"...etc.

Turtle Soup is pretty good. Its something you really don't get everyday. Bayou/Cajun food is delicious.

Cajun cuisine is heavily influenced by French and Caribbean cuisine. And Caribbean cuisine was formed from a mishmish of African stuff plus some native islander stuff, IIRC. Not a food historian but that's the way I heard it went down, basically.
The end result is pretty goddamn glorious, though. Never had a Cajun dish I didn't like. Those seasonings can be really intense.

American food in general isn't really anything original, per se.
It's more like people took the ways of their forebears and adapted them to the times they lived in, and then added their own touch.

I guess the same could be said of any culture, but it feels even more true for America.

That makes sense. I've noticed a lot of historical ports that've been a cultural melting pot for centuries on end tend to have a broader selection of good cuisines. Like how Macau has these portugese-chinese soft crabs and veggie soups, or Bangkok masterfully blends chinese with the local meats.

Probably all comes down to who you have for neighbours, of course. I assumed 'murrica kinda tripped at the first hurdle because they came from Britain, and had to learn actual cooking from somewhere else.

> The more I hear about bayou food, the more I do a mental 180 about american cuisine.
Well, America's a big place, and it's filled with diverse cultures.
Add to that the long stretches of plains and farmland and fucking nothing that all but completely seperate parts of the country, and some regions of the country have far different "cultures" than others, even if it's all part of the same country.
I mean, it's an easy thing to lump all us big dumb americans together, but the thing to remember is that we're BIG, and we have a lot of people from all around the world, and that's lead to some interesting things. And also some terrible things. It depends on where you look, really.

Personally, I'm born from and still live in cajun country, so to me this food is just normal. I've been around it all my life.
I like to tell people I've eaten alligator just because it always seems to get a reaction, but to me it's not THAT amazing. I live near gators. I can go see them anytime I want. Of course someone would have shot one and tried to eat it.
But I still have enough self-awareness to know it's pretty unique? Like, I'd actually hesitate to say it's representative of "america", because it's so very much its own thing. If you go even a single state over you'll be hard pressed to find the same food. It's like a serious anomaly.

But... yeah! If you're interested in that kind of thing, your time wouldn't be wasted paying a visit. We've certainly got enough to go around.

Sounds about right. It doesn't help I got most of american cuisine knowledge from movies and fast food chains, before coming here.

Huh. It's actually kinda strange to think of someone just shooting and eating a stray 'gator in the creek. Mainly because I've never lived in a country benefiting from the Second Amendment.

Back in China they farm most of the crocs partly because conservation pffffft and mainly because there's so many mouths to go round they need more tasty reptiles. So it tends to show up as a special at some of the higher end restaurants and also sold in dried soup packs at the health stores, because they need to ship 'em all the way from the assend of whatever Chinese backwater they rear the things in.

I've pondered visiting America but like you said-it's just so big and I don't know anyone there, so I wouldn't know where to start.

I'd probably get lost between trying to visit the bayou restaurants and that freaky house in American Gods.

That's wild.

Actually? I'm not sure what the process is for gator meat over here. Looking it up on Google seems to imply that we have a couple farms and preserves, but I don't know how much of that is for food and how much is just for tourist "look at the gators!" dollars.
I've never really thought about it before.

What's I do know is that alligator doesn't come on every menu or anything. I've only seen it in reasonably upscale places. It's kindof on the upper end of cajun fanciness in my experience, if such a thing can be considered to exist.
I'm sure there's wild game, though. Second amendment and all that. Gotta do something with all that meat when you shoot something, so you might as well take it to a processing plant.

I wish I could offer you suggestions for places to visit, but I'd be a pretty awful tour guide. All I can tell you is that cajun country prettymuch begins and ends at the Louisiana state line. I have never heard of anyone else having it.

Net change should be a loss, you can see it in how things have slowed down in both the thread and the jumps. The IRC looks just about the same, but likely half the people on the IRC don't have more than a jump to their name if they have a name in the first place. Just looking back at the recent jumps released, most of those are from all the same people, not many actually from new jumpmakers at all.
>>
>>52205296
>Recent jumps released
A very poor way to judge things. Most people are not Heavens and Val, who can make a half dozen jumps in a month or two. Most people seem to take multiple months to put out even average sized work.
>>
>>52205320
This. It's easy to forget Heavensanon and Val didn't spend years training in the forbidden jump dojos of ancient Shangri-La, they just kinda dropped into thread one day and got cracking.
>>
>>52205296
>Slowed down
Not really. It's been a pretty consistent pace, with spikes and dips, since thread 200-300 or so, which was when it first started to slow from the jump every day or three.

>IRC
IRC has always had a good number of people with no jumps to their name. Some of the most famous IRC and namefags don't.

>Recent jumps from same people
Because we have a small number of insane people making huge numbers of jumps that throws off the measurement. Not the best time to use this particular line.
>>
>>52205185
You get the feeling nowadays that people actually like it better being overblown and drama filled, since you get all sorts of people throwing fuel onto the fire, even folks who spoke out against it before. Even just looking at that namefag exchange up top makes me wonder if these people are really just in it so they can have their moment of internet drama fame. You would think that being grown adults these people wouldn't be so socially maladjusted, and they still prove you wrong at every turn.

It's a bit funny watching people become social imbeciles on 4chan, and before the repetition got on my nerves, having Dirge as the thread's public enemy number one was pretty funny too. You get to see all sorts of folks come out from the woodwork with all these accusations and stories of what happened privately or people that decide they need to contribute to somebody else's reputation to embellish it or tarnish it. Even the people that you thought were sensible decide to lose their heads and join in to act like children in the schoolyard. I guess it would fit if everyone here really was just at university age.

It's probably a bit wrong, but it's the sort of thing where as long as it doesn't happen to me, I don't mind seeing it happen to someone else.
>>
>>52205415
You can tell that none of these people are statisticians. The basics of being a statistician, even an armchair one, is presenting evidence in clear and unbiased fashion. Everybody involved here has contributed nothing but anecdotal evidence, with not a single person pointing out the hard numbers, likely because they don't have it to begin with.
>>

On the other hand, because I remember back when we were an offshoot of /cyoag/ I've always assumed people are social imbeciles who're just really good at playing pretend. This is all less surprising and more tedious.

It's just irritating that the folks who actually make things worth talking about ted to react the worst to this shit.

>It's just irritating that the folks who actually make things worth talking about ted to react the worst to this shit.
I don't know about that. The last time I really saw him pissed was when he thought somebody was harassing a guy for using his jumps again. As far as the shitposting goes he just doesn't have much of a response. I get the feeling that all the shitposting is just the thread proving him right. And nowadays with him concentrating largely on minecraft over writing, I really have to wonder where those stalkers of his were getting their information from.

>so no I don't find any of this terribly amusing.
If most of it doesn't even reach him, I don't see much harm in it at all. I'm sure it wasn't just me, but I had already advised him not to bother checking this thread when he left. >>52205701
>I get the feeling that all the shitposting is just the thread proving him right.
Dirge does that enough all by himself, he doesn't need thread to do it for him. There's been more than one instance where he sees bait in the thread and decides he needs to rush in and defend how much he sucks and how he thinks no one cares about giving critique and other similar topics. It's only recently that I think he's either stopped or he's learned not to drop text walls while doing it so people don't know it's him. So if you've been telling him to ignore the thread, then he clearly hasn't been listening.
>>
>>52205814
I think that's because you never bothered asking him for his contact info. I still chat with him without any problems, though we do share interests that aren't jumpchain related. He definitely hasn't cut off contact with everyone like you think.

>Dirge does that enough all by himself, he doesn't need thread to do it for him
I know the reason behind this, which makes it kind of funny, but yeah, you definitely have a skewed perception of him. I've given him plenty of shit for even showing up on the thread, except the times when I'm the one who fucked up to begin with. In hindsight I should've probably just told him to stop making jumps to begin with.
>>
>>52205805
Thanks, not sure still but that helps some.
>>
>>52205883
>you definitely have a skewed perception of him
Then care to explain? Because you're coming off like it's all our fault in the first place and I don't recall the entire community coming together to shit on him. I also don't recall making him come here and going on his rants, unless somehow two or three people insulting him is a form of control.
>>
>>52205917
Well, on the off chance that you're not shitposting, I'll entertain you.

People have adopted a linear perception of Dirge that basically sums him up as an individual who shits on himself. The most notable conversations that people remember with him are the ones where he's shitting on himself, because normally he doesn't seem to have many emotions at all, so when he does get heated people think he's raging and this becomes their idea of who he is. Add on top of this the fact that nobody here shares his interests to the same degree (I mean, do you even know what his actual hobbies irl are?), so to begin with, he has nothing here that he really cares to have a conversation about. No other conversations means that the only times people notice him are when he's getting drawn into an argument or starting one. I don't remember all too many that he's started, aside from when he pisses me off over something.

But no one here really cares to know another person like they would a friend in real life, so everybody ends up taking it at face value. One guy spreads the idea that he shits on himself, and everyone only focuses on him shitting on himself. He himself makes that even worse since he's a masochist, and since he doesn't have any normal conversations with people here, it seems like all he does is shit on himself and from then on whatever he says, people interprets it as him shitting on himself. It's the same thing with that other guy who goes on about how Dirge hates life.

I'd like to think that explains why you have a skewed perception of him, but to me it was all just common sense.

If all you care about is the person at fault, by all means pin the blame on him. With him not being here I don't see anything wrong with that if it makes them feel better about themselves, and I don't care enough to tell him to defend his imaginary ego with somebody he doesn't even know.

Back then you had more of other things to make it seem like the shit shows weren't all chained together. Nowadays there isn't quite as much, and everybody is hung up on something, whether it's rules or quality or drama, so even the slightest thing trips off somebody calling a shit show.

A lot of the people here seem to think that everybody else spends their entire life in this place, so everybody should know everything that happens in this community and the next. The is sort of "accepted norm" gives you people who are so invested in this place that they can only see things as they're related to this place. Now you have people who go reeee normies whenever they're confronted with the idea that others either don't know as much about this community or don't care as much, except the way they reeee is by lashing out with vitriol, which encourages more vitriol in return.

In fact I'm pretty sure they HAVE been slightly miniaturising them in canon. From a clunky box to gameboy-sized.
>>
>>52207013
I wouldn't think so. They're just bulky because they're relying on that Fallout aesthetic that didn't worry about miniaturization nearly as much. So more modern tech should be able to slim that bad boy right down pretty easily.

Though, I'm not sure what they use as a power source. It's implied in a few places that the things retain power for hundreds of years, so it may very well be a mini nuclear reactor in there. Maybe they just run on Microfusion Cells?

Why do my thoughts matter? Is it supposed to be my business when one guy wants to undermine another? This sort of comment reminds me of workplace drama, when a worker leaves and the coworker waits for the opportunity to snipe him for some personal reason. I have no clue if that guy is telling the truth or just exploiting the situation. It just happens to be so convenient that the one being accused can't deny or confirm anything, whereas the one making accusations has no proof. If anything, this weighs worse on the person making that accusation, because it comes off as petty and badly thought out, like he made a comment hoping to take advantage of the situation without thinking things through.

To tell you the truth, I've never seen Dirge talk about Air Gear at all, and I'm not an IRC goer. Maybe the IRC would like to all stand up about something I've never heard about, but if that's the case, why bring it up now? Why do it knowing that the only thing that will come out of it is even more vitriol?

I'm pretty sure Sim-Ant or a couple of the Marvel Jumps' Iron Man perks can help out with that.

they last forever and you learn to make them if you buy robco plans in 4, my main plan is to slim them down and boost the processing power and the digital display needs a bit of an overhaul but that should be easy.

Also maybe add wifi and a usb that fits any port into it.

This could be fun.

Honestly. Mass Effect Omnitool is Pipboy on steroids.
>>
>>52207178
But its so portable and slim already!
>>
>>52207178
I'm not saying they're Anything less than cool but it would take a decent chunk of tech perks to come up with something as durable. That is also as versatile while simultaneously being slimmer.

As for the USB port you can probably just swap some protocols around and replace the adapter plug on the Pip-Boy 3000 with a standard USBand replace the reel to reel tapewith a flash card or something

Man, Mir was my absolute favorite, but nobody ever talks about him.

>BoredTears
Oh god I offered to image a jump for him and never got on that, fuck.
>>
>>52202373
Right, so. Awake again, ready to fix shit. Pick the three worst things about the jump and tell me what they are.
>>
>>52207280

Aw, shucks.

>>52205002

Mm, I don't really mind the obscurity - I've not been around for a long time, I'm not super chatty, and I usually only use the trip when it's relevant to a jump I made.

Plus, I've done what? Three and a half jumps? Not really much compared to some, and nothing recently.

It's not your fault and I don't blame IRL coming first, but I'm sad that The Secret World jump WIP didn't pan out.

It's probably too obscure for anyone else to pick up.
>>
>>52207428
Yeah, but they were some of the best shit I've seen- and none of them were for series I knew at the time, but have since played or read in full. That's one of my hallmarks for a great jump, because it made me want to go and actually see the media in question instead of wikidiving for it.

1. Infinitely scaling durability and speed. Mind you, I've played the game so I'm not against some kind of super buff penguin here but you shouldn't no limits fallacy a flash game about cute penguins that just want to fly instead of become indestructible god-kings of the air and sea.

2. The Hangar Bay that expands the Warehouse's available space

3. Everything else >>52204329 said.

Yeah, the continuity drawbacks are going to be a doozy. So far we have B:tAS and S:tAS which take place around the same time, Justice League which is a few years in the future, and now Batman Beyond which is like 20-30 years in the future if I remember correctly.

That being said, Batman Beyond is going to be the easiest one since it's so far ahead in the future compared to the others. Also, if KOTOR needs my permission for a continuity drawback then he has it.
