That whole 'specialized in killing Xenos' thing is woolly though. It's not like GK specializing against Daemons. Xenos covers so much more ground. Orks, Necrons, Eldar, Tau, Tyranids - all completely unalike. What exactly did the DW have that makes them so specialist at killing Harlequins? Are they trained specifically to deal with acrobatic foes? Do they have sensors that cut through all that holo bullshit? Have they studied Harlies so extensively that they can predict their every movement? And if all that's true, how does that help against the totally different aliens, and if the DW have such a broad spectrum 'speciality' why aren't they just as badass against any foe?

Simply saying "lol le anti-Xenos specialist XDDDD" without any details such a thin argument that it doesn't have any useful meaning.

DW is chapter strength. Not every marine specializes in killing every kind of Xeno, but there enough of them that at any given time they can probably scrape together a team that is good at killing any kind of Xeno.

Cause shit happens no matter how much L33T SP3SHUL TRAINING you have. If you are taken by surprise, are exposed, not equipped properly, fighting in enemy territory or any other number of factors you can still die.

The only thing training does is change how a person reacts when taken by surprise, their effectiveness in killing the enemy, and the likelihood that they will be ambushed.

Even Primarchs can die. Remember that.

The real question you should be asking yourself is if all space elves are made equal. The two who took the custodes could have been heroes and the guys the deathwatch got might have been scrubs for all we know.

Did they attack during showertime? cause that may explain why they killed so many with just two when it should be mathematically impossible.
