I hate seeing "traps" like this. Not only is their grasp on physics tenuous at best, but they only work in 2d space. Furthermore, a "rocks fall, you die" trap is not actually any fun for players at all.

The more wacky you try to make your traps the worse they actually are.

Here are some better trap ideas:

>Valuable mcguffin in the dungeon was coated with poison and is dangerous if touched with bare hands
>caltrops on floor obscured by clutter, leaves, and dirt.
>dilapidated wooden stairs are rotting and may collapse
>rotting carcass in a corner carrying disease
>dirty water with nasty brain-eating microbes if consumed leading to a slow and agonizing death (like in the southeastern united states)

What are some interesting trap effects that aren't taking damage or immediate death?

>A heavy door, held shut by a strong spring, which opens inwards to a tiny room. There's no handle on the inside, so the victim(s) would need either incredible strength or some kind of sturdy lever to get out. Inside the room are some skeletons with rusted equipment and ancient coins several hundred years old, and a lot of scratches on the door.

Trip wires that open spillways that remove more and more of the treasure for each one triggered. If all are triggered, nothing of value is left, only cheap old armor rusted to the point that pieces keep crumbling off, and old rotted leather goods. Congrats! You got tetanus!
