is this the right board to talk about poker
>>52178912
Yep, though we're a pretty nerdy group. We play mtg more than poker

My wife plays poker; do you have any questions for her

I have one:

Aww yis. Currently I am running a "four of a kind"/"flush" deck but I am constantly getting paired against "royal flush" douches.
Can anyone recommend me a anti-royal flush deck?
>>52179227
Try the Imperial Tarot deck. I mean, yeah, some people prefer running an Uno deck, but personally, I think it's weaker against royal flush decks.

Sure, why not

>tfw running a meme high-card deck and still pull wins
Also Royal Flush ban or at least nerf when!?
On pure literal definition you just fucking won

anons.. The key is speed. Royal flush decks are hard to counter but one of their weakest spots are that they need the build up. Unless they have the heart of cards and start with all the needed cards. Then you are fucked
Pic sorta related. It is what I say to my opponents as I send them to the pond realm
>can't keep a poker face
>always have a stupid grin on when I get a good hand
>can't just keep that grin on the entire time because I can't replicate it

/asp/ will probably get you better result as Poker is closer to normie than the games we normally play.

I was also gonna suggest >>>/asp/

Half the guys on this board don't even know her, much less poked her.
Holy shit - a truly traditional game, and dorito-dusted sperglords can do nothing but magic-memery? You kids make me laff hard.

What's you guys' favorite variant of poker? I'm simple, I just like good old five card draw. Texas Hold 'Em interested me briefly, but it seems to attract too many tryhards who think they're gonna be the next TV champion.
I think I like Five Card because it has more luck to it; Hold'em places a lot of emphasis on skill, which means that you're more likely to have the best player smoke everyone else. I guess that's a good thing for competitive play, but not so much for friendly games IMO.
