Since Guilliman has essentially allied with the Ynnari in the battle against Chaos, can we assume that Mr Statesman will learn about and extend an olive branch to the Craftworld Eldar and Tau to join forces?

I'm imagining at the very least diplomatic missions to create a ceasefire to not have these dangers on their mind as the 13th Black Crusade is going on.
>>
>>52177760 #

Kinda Depends how many Imperials show up. They're basically a barbarian horde unless they completely tidal wave the tau down and crack out the Titans.

Hell, space marines aren't even all that scary to tau- Not because they aren't impressive, because a highly mobile force with better than Bolter small arms spam and plenty of heavy weaponry is basically the least optimal thing for a company to go up against.

Recall that one of the earliest marine/tau interactions involved an entire company drop podding into a city then getting counter-ambushed and killed to a man by plasma rifle spamming crisis suits.

Guilliman had a instinctive distrust of xenos even during the Great Crusade. It's suggest it's genetically wired into them.

He might arrange a ceasefire, but he's not going to form the United Federation of Planets: 40k Edition.

As disposable abhumans.

Their special rule could be that their allies could fire into combats their involved in, with any wounds being split equally between them and the enemy unit.

Wargear would a ccw. You could upgrade three of them with laspistols for every twenty you fielded. Also bomb collars, so the unit gets removed from play entirely the first time it fails a morale check.

Not that anon, but the book's decent, despite them getting a shit ton of Guard, Marines, Eldar and other random fucks in my Mechanicus book, and that stupid Disney moment where the Templar scrub is getting his ass kicked by the Secutor in a friendly duel, then magically beats him with no explanation given and tells him to fight with more "heart". He then goes all Luke Skywalker, turns off all his guidance in a big fight near the end, and owns this giant ice-monster thing. The Mechanicus characters are all pretty great, too, and one of them literally dies dropping logic burns on an Eldar.

Black Templars do their usual thing, get a bit fried up and occasionally run inot trouble, then have a cool last stand, even if it is defending a damn Eldar Farseer.
If there was a third of the non-Mech characters in the book, it would have been a lot better, but still worth a read. Also, Kotov is great. He builds an entire Leviathan into an Age of Sail boat for Explorator Fleet fucking about.

The imperium repeatedly gets BTFO by the Tau, literally the only advantages they have are warp travel and sheer numbers. That massive crusade meant to wipe them out? Stalled and defeated on a single planet. Khan got cucked out of killing shadowsun, the raven guard chapter master died, and 3/4 of the assassins failed. Hell, there was one part where the imperial guard were charging headlong through a dust storm and the Tau were using them as target practice because they outclassed them that badly.

I really want to start up a Khornate marine army, though all of the options for doing so feel really scattered.

I can't use the World Eaters Legion stuff with Khorne Daemonkin. I can't used the improvements to Possessed and Warp Talons from Daemonkin alongside the Crimson Slaughter benefits or the new assault on deep-strike formations.

It doesn't help matters that I'd actually like to include a couple squads and units focused on shooting in the list. At this point I'd even look to loyalist books for options.

These units need a whole lot more than fucking Furious Charge to be 'fixed'.
Your options are very simple anon:

> Khorne Daemonkin
Flesh Hounds that you can join units to, and don't have much 'tax' associated.
Literally everything else is inferior.

> World Eaters
Better everything else.
Better characters, insanely better infantry.
Forge World units.

> Crimson Slaughter
Objectively inferior in everything compared to World Eaters.

I'd say to just play World Eaters and ally in some Gorepacks. Put your Juggerlord there for some ablative Wounds, otherwise pure Chaos.
Ally in some Renegades if you want any Scoring potential.

Ok, quick question about Angels of Death special army lists: since their bonuses are not Chapter Tactics do they apply to all models in the army or still just those with Chapter Tactics ? Anvil Strike Force straight up buffs vehicles, Scarblade Strike Force makes vehicles faster, and so on. The Imperial Fists have two rules, one that specifies that only units with the special rule from their Chapter tactics get the bonus while the other just says that units in the army get +1 to blowing up buildings. What about the +1S for flamers the Salamanders get, is it Chapter Tactics units-only or is it like Vulkan's special ability that buffs even vehicle mounted meltas ?

This nigger has the right idea>>52178592 desu. The Cadians are the generic regiment you can change to be your dudes with just a paint job, all the other regiments have to be that regiment really.

Ideally they'll replace the Cadians with a generic Astra Militarum (TM) trooper set and then offer a series of upgrade sprues with different weapons, heads and equipment so you can go to town with your dudes.

But that would involve Games Workshop both listening to their fans and making a decision which isn't guaranteed to be financially succesful so is highly unlikely to happen.

The most likely course of action is the Cadian box will be renamed to AM Shock Troopers and us poor guard players will be fobbed off with another new command squad or if we're really lucky a new character.

Let's not forget every faction that enters Tau space gets affected by a retardation field.

Pask the knight commander super tank leader that hates baneblades rides one because reason when facing Tau.

Tactically sound IG and Marines decided the best tactic against Tau is to fall right into totally a trap!

Tau pilots in previous fluff had a hard time facing experience Imperial pilots, new fluff Tau pilots are just out right better than pilots from other species that decades or even centuries of Battle experience.

Even the Navy goes full retard failing to face them at range and close range. Something IN excels at.
Fluffwise the Imperial Navy has the best ships and numbers galaxy wide along with a crew to handle them. It is the most competent thing in the entire 40k universe but turn into drooling retards when facing the Tau.

3rd and BFG is the only Tau fluff that was decent.

It'd recoil, but you'd need specialist equipment to even detect it. Super-heating the air in front of the weapon wouldn't be an issue either, because it'd be such a tiny amount of air that gets zapped.

Yeah you need to give your chaplain enhanced mobility, either a bike or a jetpack so he can go with one of your fast assault units.

Also your Stormraven has hefty transport capacity but you haven't supplied anything to put in it.

Personally, I dislike shooty Dreadnoughts. Melta or assault cannon and a flamer in a drop pod is great as far as dreads go.

You largely have a perfectly fine casual list, but those stand out as weird things amongst it.
>>
>>52178957
Specially 1d4chan tactics. They might be useful for the units and cost comparison but as actual guidelines for playing, making a list or even function on the table stay away.

Simply ask yourself the following questions:
"What do I want to do?"
"What units can do it?"
"How do they do it?"

Ideally, you want to have at least three units that can do any one thing at least two different ways.

So, say I answer question 1 with "I want to kill tanks". Then I answer question 2 with "I want to kill tanks at short range and long range." and then finally I select a long-range anti-tank unit (say, an all-lascannon predator), a short range option (squad of tacticals with grav guns in a drop pod), and finally, if possible, a third unit for one of the two previous options (Let's say a squad of devastators with lascannons for long range).

Major things you want to do:
Kill tanks/monstrous creatures
Kill Infantry
Take Objectives

There are more things you may want to do depending on your army. For example a guard player (me) wants some sort of meatshield for the my tanks. The units you select can also multitask to lower the points cost. As long as nobody can cripple your army by killing one unit, you'll be fine.

Say like, oh, terminators with missile launchers, assault cannons and storm shields. Heck, if house ruling that unit spot them the Deathwing knight ability for a unit with all shields to stand in base contact and become T5.

But back in units that actually exist, yes. You want to spam all heavy flamers or all assault cannons depending on intended role.

Missile launchers and lightning claws is a fun if expensive way to absolutely maximise your AP3.

I mean, in 30k they're seen as demigods and treated with reverence but they're a common fixture so to speak. It's nothing out of the ordinary to have the Primarch around. But in 40k it's been like 8-9 thousand years since any loyalist Primarch has been seen about. Even the Daemon Primarchs haven't been seen by more than a small group of marines or the Grey Knights. Nobody really expects them to ever come back, they're legends. It's kinda like Catholics and Christians talk about Jesus' Second Coming but nobody really expects him to suddenly appear and actually do shit.

But this big blue fucker did. I want to read some shit.

the iron hands are a bunch of cyborg soldiers who replace their body with mechanical pieces and have a hard on for efficiency.

this has led to a callous and dismissive attitude to non-combatants and friction with chapters who aren't quite so static in their thoughts.

they venerate their primarch like most chapters, but he would have been disgusted by their wholesale abandonment of their human form in favour of cybernetic augments.

this was because they were all trying to imitate his own necrodermus hands but never realised that he hated them.

Vindicare fudged his shot and got blinded by a photon grenade, then ventilated with pulse carbine fire from Darkstrider.

Callidus got outed before she could get close enough to Shadowsun, who melted her with a fusion blaster shot.

The Eversor crashed through a wall of a training dome, laughing maniacally, killed a bunch of Farsight's Crisis suited bodyguards before getting cut in half by the Dawn Blade. Then the top half of it crawled towards Farsight, laughing maniacally, then exploded.

The Culexus walkd past an entire Tau army, murdered the Spehs Pope's entire bodyguard because they were all relying on their helm cameras/sensors which the assassin didn't show up on, the Pope's floating rascal scooter got a puncture and he tried to waddle away on foot, at which point the Culexus grabbed him and killed him. Messily.

Show me examples of this ork and eldar shit you speak of. Cause the Callidus just barely got away with it, she actually did have shadowsun fooled at the start, but the polymorphine cannot replicate the pheromones the Ethereals exhude.

Makes me think that the cloaking aspect is merely physical. Sure, it can turn a 5 foot 60kg woman into a 7 foot 200kg ork nob but it can't make you think or behave like a nob.

He didn't miss his shot, he hit farsight with his shield breaker round before one of the bodyguards got in the way of the killing shot. The callidius shit was plot armor though, even if she was discovered, there's no way she loses out to shadowsue in such a close ranged fight

>>

Heralds of Ruin updated the rules with more polish, factions, and play-testing. You can google it since spam filter doesn't like the url.
>>
>>52180842
That's something that bothers me with this game, how different the power levels are of armies, it's hard to gauge what a friendly power level is for a pickup game. It doesn't help that I play Tau, and have to worry about being called cheese and overpowered with zero riptides :c
>>

>>
Do you know when exactly Lord Inquisitor will be released? April 2017?
>>
>>52179185
Even in 30k they are underwhelming. Low model count armies have always struggled due to the fact that 2 BS 3 weapons are better than 1 BS 5 weapon. Custodes take that to an even greater extreme with every single model having at least two wounds and a 2+ armour save with WS and BS 5.

I would practically speaking only suggest using custodes as allies as they can perform well in assaults due to high stats and overall being hard to kill.
>>
>>52180895
Bringing a single CAD, with 2 Melta Dominions, Flamer Seraphims and 3 Exorcist is consider broken and overpower. By bad players. There was this Riptide wing player that said my Melta Dominions where op. He had 3 Riptides at 1500. For a casual pick up game.
>>
>>52180763
He didn't miss, his first round was a shield breaker that passed through and destroyed farsight shielding. The second shot, which wasn't a shield breaker, was stopped by the shield projector of one of his bodyguards.
>>

>>52180945

>>
>>52180930
Ummm...easier to just say they made like kill-team data slates for all the factions and put it together with a campaign system inspired by necromunda-mordheim. You should check it out if you don't like it you can use the GW version but I think the HoR version is a lot more definitive.

Culexus are hyper rare and have more important shit to kill like Eldar, daemons, and rogue psykers. Honestly they are probably the most in demand seeing how useful they are and how rare they are. Literally any schmuck can be selected to become a vindicare, callidus, or eversor, becoming a culexus requires that one be born a pariah.
