Aaand we're back!

Jump #271: Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers
>The Chariot, reversed: Lack of discipline and poor direction fan the flames of a situation already out of control.
Mistakes were made, but c'mon, who's surprised by this by now?
>Age: Old
>Location: The Moon
Listening to Rita whining about everything for centuries is DEFINITELY the way to go. Yeeeah.
>Identity: Drop-In
>Drawbacks: 10,000 Years In Prison (+300)
REGRETS. ENDLESS REGRETS. Argh.
>Color Change (1250, Drop-In)
Well, it's more permanent than a coloring charm.
>Sixth Ranger (1050, Drop-In)
Technically wouldn't this be seventh? I mean, I'm not planning on actually stealing the green ranger's spot, no matter how much of an insufferable Mary Sue the canon sixth ranger is.
>It's Morphin' Time (850)
Sometimes it doesn't hurt to be able to change forms instantaneously. With what I've got for alt forms, it's pretty quick, but it's been limited. And the larger the size change, the longer it takes.
>Teamwork (450)
Frankly the most interesting part of this perk is that a few hours of practice is sufficient to pass it on to others. You can bet I'll be using THAT aspect in the future.
>Sparks (350)
Sometimes you have to make a point. Whether a hit is effective or not, it's nice to know you're having an impact.
>Dragon Shield (300, Drop-In)
Gold is tacky, but it fits, I suppose.
>Power Morpher (200)
As terrible as spandex is, I'll be using it anyway. No mecha though; just means the canon rangers have to save the day.
>Sword of Darkness (0)
You know what's funny? I don't think I have any swords that are actually magic, yet. I mean, the Sword of Polaris thing means that I AM a sword, so to speak, but it does not so much GIVE me a sword. And this one has some nice qualities; I think I'll keep it.

>>52170081
MOTHERFUCKER CRUX YOU GOT ME GOOD.

FUCKING WELL PLAYED SIR.
>>
>>52170081

So riddle me this. When is a power ranger not a power ranger? When they end up in the universe from the 1995 movie rather than the sentai show. The white(!) ranger was part of the lineup from the start, apparently, and that skews a great many things. For instance, when Goldar attacked Angel Grove, it merited a full blown military response. It wasn't overly effective, but HEAT shells proved to not be totally ineffective against giant monsters.

So! This basically means the stakes are a little higher. No, the monsters aren't just going out and murdering people en masse (not dumb enough to take THAT drawback here), but it does mean that I can't follow the plot with meta-knowledge, and it also means that the monsters fight a little smarter and actually use some degree of tactics. And that everything does not automatically happen in quarries and open fields, but in the city itself. It also means that the plot doesn't get retarded and end up in space later, but... yeah. Tech on Earth is slightly ahead of the curve, moon missions in the 90's were unexpected but apparently the case. On the plus side, the armor looks somewhat better. yeah?

Once free, I go to Earth and try to blend in, and get a job as a substitute teacher at a certain high school which permits me to disappear as needed and keep a variable schedule. Then pop into the command center after the rangers get recruited and have a quick heart-to-heart with Zordon. Explain I was dropped in from another dimension, ended up here and am definitely not a villain - quite the opposite, in fact - and want to help out. End up on the team, not fighting on the front lines 80% of the time, but actively training the other rangers. Because I have training perks up the wazoo, and due to the amped up opposition, they're going to need it.

Fun fact: gold armor goes surprisingly well with black spandex. Being the gold ranger and only making occasional appearances when things merit it seems the way to go.
>>
>>52170097
So. Two years in. Ivan Ooze attacks. Which is patently ridiculous, incidentally. But once I realized I was in the movieverse... well, I'm not going to deny I had been waiting for this opportunity for quite a while. Even though he wreaks havoc on the command center and basically half-kills Zordon.

>"Oh the things that I have missed! The black plague! The Spanish Inquisition!"
"Your mother slobbering all over my sword."
>"Who the hell- OH. OH GOD WHY."

Did you know that Ivan Ooze remains weak versus nut shots? I ended up regretting that precisely twelve seconds later as I was blasted through the doors, but MAN was that satisfying. Also I didn't get the ninja upgrade that everyone else did, but that's okay, because my powers run on fiat and not the local power source.

Things... started to calm down after that, for the most part, monster-of-the-week became monster-of-the-month, but they got bulked up. Zedd's also a scary motherfucker when he wants to be.

So years of steady escalation... I basically retired after a while and just stayed on to train people and make appearances once or twice a season in fights, Rita and Zedd were the villains for significantly longer than in the show, and when they were finally replaced by the Machine Empire, it was a full blown invasion rather than the formulaic bullshit you would normally see. The rangers did an admirable job, but they could only be in so many places at once. And so force was met with force - because Earth hadn't been sitting on its laurels. (I may have been subtly helping them.)

Funny how after Earth nuked their base of operations on the moon, the remaining two years got REAL quiet.

oh my god how did i just write up this much shit for power rangers. damn you jumpchain.

Well, we have at least 3 canon ships. Spider and DungeonAnon are the first. Val and Bee the second and Val and Alipheese the third.

After that, it's guessing time. I'd put Dog and Cats together, they seem very similar in style and it'd be a cute twist to get the opposing animal theme.

Dirge and ASA obviously have dat star crossed lovers thing, with one or the other sneaking off from this forum or the other to meet.

Digger and Heavens would obviously do the senpai-kouhai thing but Bodacious anon would be there to mix things up in the second act and turn it into a love triangle.

Worm's the thread bike of course, at least until his shining knight in armour comes to rescue him and become his one true love. Who'd fit the role? We certainly have a bunch of do gooders in the thread.

>>
>>52170575
You see, most people exhibit sociopathic tendencies, but generally you hide that so that people don't have any reasons to put up their guard. Similarly, you don't boast about things, even if they're technically true based on anecdotal evidence, because underselling yourself is similarly useful for getting past people's external defenses. It's a matter of how you act, and knowing when to put up which facade. Sociopaths tend to learn this relatively early for the most part.
>>
>>52170575
Bancho. Generally, boasting about being a sociopath, along with how women never figure it out, and immediately proceeding to boast about how you lure women into bed with you, generally DOES NOT COME OFF WELL.

>>
>>52170607
Not everyone has seen you around for the whole period that you've been around, and you've admittedly managed to hide things a little better than back in the old days. That's part of what all sociopaths need to do anyways, regardless of whether they think of themselves as sociopaths or not. If you can't blend in with society, you're giving them reason to shit on you.

Enhanced Mastery + Corona Stimulants get me 1080 hours of practice for every hour I spend practicing.

As I mostly use Enhanced Mastery as an excuse to be lazy I rarely play for more than a couple of hours at a time despite this.

Favored instrument is the guitar but I initially tested EM on the banjo as I could already play guitar so it wouldn't have been quite as noticeable. My first act in Worm was to send one companion to destroy Slaughterhouse 9 while the other went out to go get me a banjo.

All of them. Learning enhancement perks are the shit.

My preferred one? None really, but I remember while I was a simple cafe owner in Aqua, I would sometimes, just for giggles, play a bandolim I bought in one festival on a dare from Io.

Next thing you know, my cafe became the concert hall for the Marco Polo Piaza and I had to rename it "The Bandolim" because we had musicians, both pros and amateurs, coming in to join my weekly playing. This one time, Athena, Alicia, and Akira all showed up with their students, and then as I was playing, they sang along.

A guy could just lose himself in the result song, ya know? The best part? Every so often, one of them would come by after that one performance.

Can you imagine what over ten thousand years of monogamy is like?

If you REALLY want to stay faithful, the both of you should become shapeshifters so that you can experience other people's physical bodies, while remaining true to her heart.

Or you could do like me and pick a bisexual waifu who's as ravenous for flesh as you are, and construct an interwoven lust mesh out of all your conquests.

Or pick up a self duplication perk and don't tell her. You remain faithful to her, your duplicate wears an alt form and rakishly bounces from encounter to encounter, psychically sharing the experience with you.

I wanted to do something like turning them into a 3CD equivalent. That's not a bad thing to do, right?
>>

Well, yeah? But I'd say it's more like having "basic moral sensibilities".

Would you be willing to kill a modern-day cartel slaver? Nazarick do everything they do, plus forced breeding to produce fresh stock they can skin for making scrolls and butcher for meat.

Momonga lets them get away with casual background villainy that is significantly worse than the end-goals of lot of BBEGs from a lot of settings.

A stern talking-to could probably convince Momonga to not be such a pathetic pushover, or being another of the Supreme Beings would let you essentially take over (and really, fuck that forced blindspot if you want to be one of them), but he's almost as bad from his inability to assert his original personality.

Well. This was an interesting thing to wake up to. I made some perks for the Independent 'faction' last night, by the way.

Sacred Hospitality [100 - Discount for Independent] - You can’t really be much of a figure of power without a couch to crash on. Even Devils need sleep, after all. You may not have much in the way of wealth or properties compared to some factions, but you will find that both neutral bystanders and even some lower-ranked members in an organization or group will welcome you with open arms and let you hang around. This hospitality goes away when you pick a side hostile to them or spurn their kindness somehow, but it seems no matter where you go, you’ll stumble across someone of middling importance or influence who is willing to take you in. You’ll pay them back after all, right?...right?

Senjutsu [200 - Discount for Independent] - While magic and mana are the universal constants of this world, and magical systems are different ways of utilizing it, other energies and practices do exist in this world. This trick in particular allows you to control and harness your own vitality into an energy called ‘ki’, which when concentrated will strengthen your physical form considerably, letting your fists and feet strike much harder against foes. In addition, it lets you read and sense the ‘ki’ of others, letting you read and predict movements and spy on the enemy’s current state from a distance. Take a deep breath, because now this power is yours to command.

(1/2)
>>
>>52173009
Walking Freak Accident [400 - Discount for Independent] - That’s what you are, damn it. You could be a completely, in-over-your-head Human schmuck without any resources or special powers, and you will constantly be in the right place and the right time. Your luck lets you stroll past possibly-fatal accidents or encounters with a spring in your step, find a handful of yen on the ground when you need spending money for lunch, and just happen to eavesdrop on a conversation about a hunt for a Sacred Gear held by one of your classmates. In short, your luck protects you from accidents or happenstance while letting you stumble onto resources and clues relevant to what you’re after. Sure, you still have to act on it when it’s not protecting you, and you won’t find items of great power just falling into your lap...but opportunities? Oh, yes. There will be lots of opportunities. Just don’t lean too much on Lady Luck, or else it’ll run out before you know it.

(2/3 - Fuck character limits)

In the same vein, NuBee actually waifued show business, and spends his non-JC time traveling the world managing a vast network of entertainment outlets who harvest the attention of viewers for a variety of dark designs.

Konata-anon had a torrid affair with a chocolate pie before it was found mysteriously eaten later, thankfully the poor girl was taken care of due to a large life insurance policy the pie had taken out.

This Is My Town [600 - Discount for Independent] - ‘Let sleeping Dragons lie’ are wise words that have been uttered in the past. Whether or not you’re a Dragon yourself, you have a naturally intimidating aura around yourself, a cloud of killing intent that wards away potential foes and makes even those stronger than you hesitate, if briefly. What’s more, any deeds or actions that you take which become public knowledge are blown out of proportion - if you saved a man, you are called a great hero. If you slew a couple Devils, you are feared by many of their kin as though you were a holy avenger. Your reputation will snowball until you can barely live up to what they say about you - your foes will shake in terror at your name, and powerful allies will flock to your side. You can even ‘ride’ the power of this infamy in battle, using it to make your opponents doubt their superiority, or cause a stronger foe to stumble because he is uncertain if you’re just toying with him. Just...take care when someone inevitably calls your bluff. Actions speak louder than words, after all.

Everything you have that's connected to the internet is constantly getting hacked
Alternate universe 4chan has made a game of messing with you
Evil corporation wants to exploit you somehow and destroy your life
Short-sighted corporation is mass producing evil tech, without understanding it in the slightest, and will bring about the end of the world in a few years unless you intervene
Crazy evil AI that wants to kill you

Myths Zeus is very vague to the point of being at least a planetary reality warper. So I would say no.

Their strength is around island level, with the greatest feast being all Ainz's Over-rank spells.

200m radius disintegrating spells, a spell that killed 75k soldiers in formation instantly, and a spell that froze a lake, but could have as well turned it into lava.

They also run on some high-tier hax, like TGoaLiD bypassing all defenses to kill you, WCIs bypassing any immunity with their own effects, and things like Dimensional Slash or Impenetrable Aegis.

Level 100 mages are basically level 20-30 D&D's wizards with casual spell-casting but they have a much harder time making custom spells (if you can even make them being a non-local), and warriors and rogues are basically the same if they could scale with the wizards. They're closer to Elder Evils than actual possible PCs.

Wrong, they're both mid-tier undead and Death Knights were stated in volume 7 to be country destroyers. They mostly do it by mass producing greater zombies and zombies and being basically unkilleable and moving faster than sight.

Heavens, question about your DBZ jump.

Specifically that drawback that makes everything in setting stronger. How does that apply to main villains? Because what you said about Frieza was a bit vague. Would they just jump ahead an arc in terms of strength?

Like would Frieza about about as strong as canon Perfect Cell, Perfect Cell would be as strong as Kid Buu, Kid Buu would be as strong as Beerus, Beerus would be completely untouchable even as a Super Saiyan God, etc...?
>>
>>52173433
Greek heroes run on plot armor until they utterly fail and die miserably in some ironic way. Greek authors loved that kind of shit.

I mean, there were times that demigods got handled task that the gods themselves weren't capable of handling.
>>
>>52173378

The first one I've answered a few times in the past. The strength of your soul is one of the contributing factors to the power of your magic alongside study and research. You'd become comparable to Medusa with spell potency after taking the full line and Strong Soul, but you would haven't much experience with your spells by comparison. Arachne is harder to judge since we never really had a consistent level of power for her, but she appears to have been stronger as a witch compared to Medusa at full power. What with her being weak after just waking up, slowly regaining her power over time and then engaging in the ritual to depart from her body to become a Kishin before being killed. You can absolutely train your abilities further by growing your soul through varying methods and spending time on researching new spells or practicing with the ones you have. It's hard to really say how long it would take to reach Arachne or Mabaa's levels since there's a lot of variables. Stuff like how you train, how quick of a learner are you, what kinds of perks do you have, do you use artificial methods or traditional ones and so on. It'd likely take longer than your ten years in the Jump under normal circumstances with how most Witches accumulate what they have slowly over their long lives, but Jumpers hardly ever work under normal circumstances.
>>
>>52173132
Maeve? Maeve literally gets killed by a normal human with a gun five feet away from her with a quick draw. She's also basically only as strong as a senior wizard and is incredibly shit at using her power.
>>
>>52173518
Going to have to be a bit more specific since there's at least three drawbacks that power-up the villains.

If it's Only The Strong Survive, EVERYONE EVERYWHERE is much stronger by a flat amount - enough to turn even the early arcs into an apocalyptic mess. I can't provide exact measurements because power levels are still bullshit, but if the mooks are this strong, it should be a horrifying indicator of how strong the main villains are - much like canon, incidentally.

Always Someone Stronger ensures that no matter how powered up or how far you are in the chain, you will encounter someone who can curbstomp you soundly unless you train or power up somehow.

Dark Seekers means that major villains will randomly get power ups from two mystery characters that give them a huge increase in competence, enough to completely derail the plot from where they stand.

I don't know if anyone took all three of these at once, but my message for them would be thank you for playing Jumpchain!

>>
>>52173581

Probably a stupid question but would it be possible for a shikai form change to turn into a sword+armor? Or is that too big of a change?

I was thinking of doing something like going full crusader gear this jump. Even though bleach has a japanese thing going on I like the armor more.

Contract? [100 - Free for Hell] - Devils are closer to humanity than many other Factions, though this isn’t necessarily out of benevolence. By establishing a business arrangement, a Devil can gain more standing and power from giving a particular service to a human - though no Faustian exchange of souls is involved, and the tasks these days usually boil down to ‘babysit my children’ or ‘dress up in cosplay for me’. Both parties have to agree to it and the Devil has to fulfill their end of the bargain to the satisfaction of the contractee, but once they do, they gain both more standing among other Devils (or businesspersons, in future jumps) and a very slight increase in power. It would take decades if not centuries of casual work to reach the level of a Great Satan or legendary Devil this way, but you know what they say about investments, right?

"Cosmic power flows through me, yearning to build worlds and tear them asunder. I am that I am, and all that is bows before me or sickens and dies. In my left hand is cold fire. With my right, I raise monoliths to my glory and crush my enemies. Upon me rests the crown of the universe.
And do you know what else?
I am so fucking metal my name is a power chord."

But it's not too applicable to my jumper specifically, since they're generally too lazy. So perhaps one of these works better: "The supreme art of war is to subdue the enemy without fighting." or “A wall is a door too. It just doesn’t know it’s a door yet.”

>What kind of stuff does A Wordy Fellow get you?
Well, primarily you get Wordblood jammed into your head/soul, like the main character in Lunar Quest.

From the outset, it'll let you understand all languages, eat and absorb souls and written knowledge, gain "Titan's Will" from eating souls (appears to be similar to Fae Glamour?), and empower attributes with this gained Titan's Will.

Later it can let you use and create Titanic Magic, in his case Power Words, to do things with. To speak a word and have that word affect the world in accordance to the meaning of that word. It also allows him to learn and know the True Names of Things, which grants some kind of mastery over that thing (not entirely sure what this mastery means though).

And using Titan's Will to raise physical attributes (plus appearance), and essence, or modifying your physical form (the last of which is slightly redundant as a Lunar, but eh). Basically functioning like experience points.

More importantly perhaps, it lets you sort of turn into a kind of proto-Devil Tiger or proto-Primordial? With some differences to the canon thing, like not getting a custom charmset, instead just access to this Titanic Magic thing. And the original human soul becoming something akin to a Fetich (which can be usurped if Wordblood himself or other souls are given more power than yourself), while the body is 'piloted' by this new mode of being. And the body's physically affected by increasing power (becoming larger when gaining in Essence, and gaining physical mutations like horns appropriate to other Deva you create).
In any case, Wordblood and other souls created with this would basically be 3rd Circle Devas... Except they start off exceptionally weak, even by 1st Circle Demon standards.
A kind of inner world also seems to come with this, though it's very, very small compared to a Devil-Tiger's, and only appears after a bit of gaining in essence.

A Face That Sells [200 - Discount for Hell] - Whether you just look that good or carry yourself in the right way, you are a very popular person...or will be, in short order. Your attitude and appearance is enough to give you very strong media appeal, and should you become an actor or a figure of note, it won’t take very long for you to become a celebrity. This also applies to the supernatural underworld, where your name will pop up near the top of the list for your Faction as well as party invitations. This stacks rather nicely on top of other things that increase your appeal and popularity...expect to have fans worldwide, should you wish it so.

Just about anyone can do it, some people have more talent than others but it's mostly a matter of focus and memory. There may be some other factor to being a good magician, because it seems that having spirits summoned is a source of physical fatigue for a magician, and some magicians handle that better than others. But at the least if someone has good focus and memory they can make a pretty good magician.

Nah. Considering some of the specific difficulties I had with some of Lunars writing I did, I don't think I'd be able to do that justice.

You're going to want someone else for that one.

I was thinking more like either a Lunar Quest-specific jump. I'd say a general Jukashi-Exaltedverse jump (since there's similarities in background worldbuilding), but there's clear differences in how things work between Keychain of Creation and the Quest. So that wouldn't work.

That's a tough question. If we go by games, Sinnoh is definitely my favorite since I loved the shit out of Diamond as a kid. If we're going by where we'd most wanna live, I'd have to give it to Kalos or Unova. Both are pretty large regions that have a variety of climates and ecosystems (mostly temperate), their technology is pretty sweet, I enjoy plenty of the Pokemon you can find in them and I think they'd be the nicest ones to live in.

Hoenn and Alola are more tropical island nations and I'm not that big a fan of "surrounded on all sides by ocean", while Kanto and Johto are a bit behind the times and mostly rural. Sinnoh is probably third place behind Unova and Kalos, but only because there's a giant ass mountain in the middle of the region that makes it inconvenient for traveling between the east and west sides.

Evil Pieces On A Board [400 - Discount for Hell] - The Evil Piece system is the centerpiece of how Devils gain prestige and power, and is how Peerages are formed. A single Devil of power is designated as the ‘King’, and they choose up to 15 servants to fill the role of the other pieces on the board. The chosen Pieces receive a boost to their base abilities in a way fitting their role - Rooks are strong and durable, but relatively slow, Bishops are able to cast more powerful magic but exhausted themselves if they overuse this, and so forth. Purchasing this allows you to use and grant this system to others, but you may also ‘reincarnate’ a recently dead or dying individual to return as a Reincarnated Devil, giving them the properties of that race. This only works on that particular person once, and doesn’t work on Angels or similar ‘holy’ beings. Incidentally, this lets you grant others access to Mana and magic from this world quite handily...

Scion of Hell [600 - Discount for Hell] - The Great War has come and gone, and the wind is beginning to shift towards a permanent peace between the three Factions. More than that, you can’t be expected to rely on old relics or the innate power of Sacred Gears if you want to get somewhere in this world. This is a lesson you have internalized, in both body and spirit - your training in both combat and mental ability is greatly increased. You will quickly become competent and then a savant of a fighting style you focus on, and any mistakes or hardships you endure quickly become experience that gives you perfect clarity on what to avoid doing on a second encounter. Not only are you a master of growth and turnabout, but you’re especially good at passing down these skills and advancement to your peers and minions, letting them operate not in your shadow but by your side. With the right time and lessons, you can topple a foe who relied too hard on innate power with nothing but determination and cleverness in a fight.

Fluffy White Feathers [100 - Free for Heaven] - See, way back, some Angels…’experimented’ with their appearances. Wheels of fire, big eyeballs, things like that. It never quite worked out that well, so they decided to stick to some aesthetically pleasing human forms. Whether or not that tall tale is true, your appearance has gained a soothing and welcoming quality - your smiles are warmer, your laughter can make hearts flutter, and your hugs are particularly soft. Regardless if you’re adorable or a reliable older sibling figure, people will see in your demeanor and actions that you can’t be anything else than pure of heart...or just REALLY good at pretending.

Going to have to go with Hoenn. It's got a good mix of comfy places, warm beaches, and my favorite Pokemon. Growlithe, Ralts, Mawile, and Absol form the core of all my teams whenever possible, and Hoenn is the easiest place to gather all four without extensive traveling. (Technically two Ralts, because I prefer to have both a Gardevoir and Gallade.)
>>
Technically True [200 - Discount for Heaven] - Angels and those who follow God’s teachings tend to have to follow strict rules, especially things regarding purity and not consorting with devils. Thing is, this is incredibly impractical in this day and age, and nobody REALLY wants a second Great War for no good reason. And some Devils can be really nice, it turns out. You will find that strict moral requirements, metaphysical or social, are much less punishing towards you than it would be towards others. A holy knight who has to strike down an Angel for the greater good, or someone in a star-crossed relationship with a Devil would face a slap on the wrist as opposed to retribution, and they even get to keep their basic abilities. You can still ‘fall’ as an Angel or receive great punishment from doing something truly unforgivable, but if your act was ultimately harmless or for the good of your Faction (or even the world), your actions are tolerated. It might not make you too popular, though.

I can see some folks liking this one. Any comments on the Faction perks so far?

Glad you both like it. I'm mostly using Michael as the template for the Heaven perks. Speak of!

Rise, Brave Saint [400 - Discount for Heaven] - If things progress a certain way, Angels will soon be adopting a system similar to the Evil Pieces of Devils, creating a pseudo-peerage of Reincarnated Angels using cards instead of chess pieces. Whether from intuition or experimentation, you’re an early adopter of this system - you can Reincarnate dead or dying individuals into Angels in a process identical to Reincarnated Devils. Much like its counterpart, this doesn’t work on Devils, Fallen Angels, or beings akin to them, nor does it work on the same being more than once. While adopting the 12 Card system will be up to the passage of time or further experimentation on your part, these Reincarnated Angels are purified of any corruption they had in life, and are opened to the idea of God...or, if they’re not a religious sort, the idea that there is more to strive for and good they can do in their lives. Whether or not they act on this, well...I hope they’re grateful to you bringing them back.

Kirby has a vacuum immunity perk. Spyro Dragons can grow incredibly large and you can get a variety of elements that you could use like fire to simulate stars, ice to represent the cold or poison to mimic the effects of radiation poisoning,. Tales of Symphonia's Lifeless Being perk allows you to control your own age and rapidly reach the higher end of being a Spyro Dragon.

First combination off the top of my head, probably easier and better methods other people know.

There's a few concerns I'm noticing with making this an option for the jump... If you are interested in hearing my thoughts?

Mainly things that don't seem to be a thing, like:
>Wyld Taint and the Moonsilver Tattoos (which would also include the lost Castes, and Casteless)? Chimerism working quite differently too... Though some/all of that might simply be implied and not mentioned, not sure?
>Spirit Shapes and War Forms are replaced with a totemic animal thing, which kinda fucks with the capstone...
>Silver Pact's not much of a thing either, though it does exist. Which would not normally be a concern, but for the two perks based on them having some pact/contact structure.
>Solar Mates are another thing...

Also, having gone through Strength, Dexterity, Stamina, and Appearance charms... I maintain my initial assesment of Argent Witches shapeshifting to be easier/simpler, but inferior and less versatile, so far. (I didn't even realise they had to commit motes to keep a form at first, that kinda hurts even more with the larger costs on shifting)

They do seems to be a bit better at disguising themselves as other people though.

Anyway, there's really neat ideas here. But I'm not sure about making this an option when it clashes with stuff already in the jump?

I Send My Sword [600 - Discount for Heaven] - Something many forget in this age is that it was the hand of God that created the Sacred Gears, and granted them to humans so that they may work miracles on the world. The secrets of this art died with Him, but the impact they leave on the world has echoed throughout time and history. You have gained a shadow of this art, with the ability to forge Holy Blades...not True Holy Blades, but powerful weapons that burn away the infernal and cut deeply against Devils or wicked creatures. More than that, you have a sense of others besides yourself who can shape the course of history if granted such a weapon, or any power you can pass to them, and a very accurate idea of how they will change the world around them for better or worse. All it will take is a mysterious, angelic figure granting them what they need when the moment calls for it. In time, you may be able to forge True Holy Blades, but that may take centuries or more of work...

I am contemplating a 500 point capstone booster for being a veteran or prodigy of your Race/Faction, but I'm not sure on that one. Thoughts?

Well, there's always "I can buy my own insurance now!" from FLCL and there's just tons of stuff you'd want to pick up in Ogre Battle: The March of the Black Queen. A whole background designed around leading an army for starters. You can also pick up Armed Crews in Ring of Red, groups of three to six trained military soldiers, along with a number of strategy and battle tactics perks.

/shill

There's also "Rise Of Your Army" in the new Fire Emblem Heroes Jump Which I've been literally pouring over since downloading the game. Don't judge me. which gives you an army of standard humans /BUT!/ they come trained in skills and magic that YOU know. They start off as faceless, rather unskilled, grunts, but given a little training time you could call up a truly legendary army.

Also, consider heading into Nechronica. Horrible as the place is, any Dolls you manage to rescue will come out the other size as trained killers. Bring psychology perks.

Besides that, if you're looking to add some cannon fodder to the front lines, there's the Waddle Dees in Kirby and a perk for summoning between 20-30 mooks in Spice and Wolf. There's also the Kerbals from Kerbal Space Program if you want to add some engineers to pilot your siege equipment.

I know there's more, but that's all I've got off the top of my head. I love these kinds of perks.

Holy Blades are mostly generic 'smite evil' weapons, while True Holy Blades have ridonkulous powers like 'cut anything' or a range of powers akin to Sacred Gears.

The capstone booster idea is mostly since I have no idea how to represent someone who has longer experience or greater power than the default starting level of DxD. It also kind of cuts into the prices a bit here, since
>13 capstones, several of which are straight power-ups
>Capstone booster of 500
>Dragons will probably cost 600
>Longinus, or at least the conceptual or openly bullshit ones are an undiscounted 1k.

Yeah if I go with this, builds are probably going to hemorrhage points and might call for a 1.5k drawback limit? Not sure. I'm not even sure I can make that many drawbacks.

Might revisit that one, but input is welcome.
>>
>>52177025
I mean, personally that all sounds good to me. As for how to represent the greater experience/power, maybe have the capstone booster put you at one of the higher ranks, like Archangel/Archdevil, and some kind of equivalent for that for the other factions? Even if you're not an angel, you could still have that rank or the equivalent with the capstone booster.
>>
>>52176945
>if you don't take the drawback what are your chances of encountering One of the Nine Wraiths. in Lord of the rings?
Pretty low if you stay away from the main plot. The Ringwraiths are after the Ring excusively at the time of the War of the Ring.

>Considering there are ghost Pokémon a master ball could probably hold one right?
That sounds like wanking to me.
>or would you need a pod?
Sure, that'd work, but I don't know why you'd want them. Their chief weapons are fear, surprise, ruthless efficiency, and an almost fanatical devotion to Sauron, but they're all not that badass by themselves.

i don't want to use a pod for One of them, but I would like a good tracking minion and they aren't doing anything positive. i Figured monster+ monster containment ball = captive monster.
>>
>>52177184
Uncomfortably.
>>
>>52177184
Badly, probably.
IIRC, when Soul Reapers 'kill' Hollows, they're actually sort of purifying them.
Very few Hollows are actually so evil they go to Hell, and it's a big deal when they do.
And most of the supernatural entities in that setting would panic if they heard about a being that could destroy anyone who's done anything evil by staring them in the eyes.

You'd probably get dog-piled shortly after your debut.
>>
>>52177025
Personally I'm in favor of the booster to represent the range of powerlevels, but yeah. 1.5k is probably the absolute least the drawback limit should be. Maybe just no limit? To buy all the perks of your origin and faction alone is 1800. Factoring in items, racial costs, a Sacred Gear, and maybe a Capstone Booster easily pushes that to beyond 2500 cp even if you try and finagle it.

How much do you think races besides Dragon are going to cost, if at all?
>>
>>52177184

They'd think something was wrong with hell now that some of its inhabitants were started to lurk around outside. Hell exists in Bleach, it's where evil souls go when properly sent off. It's as terrible as you would think it would be. Giant skull monsters known as jailers constantly hunt down the weakened souls trapped there and eat them or mash them up before they respawn, for all eternity. Ghost Rider's alignment with hell and resemblance to the Jailers would be a red flag.

Not much expensive in comparison. Humans are free, as are 'Reincarnated' versions for Heaven and Hell respectively, while Angels, Devils, Fallen Angels etc. are free for their respective factions, and 'miscellaneous' races like Vampires and Youkai would be 200-300.

I still like including a drawback limit just out of mechanical preference, but I'll be giving this one a wide one to match the content.

I'm considering a capbreaker drawback called Paradise Lost, where the War has gone hot again and the entire setting has ditched the ecchi and slice of life aspects for what amounts to SMT: This Time It's Personal Edition, in the style of the Last Avenger drawback. I want to finish the rest of the jump first, though, because that can be a tad excessive.

My apologies.

On the other hand, they might be different enough for a jump of their own? Just not by me.

...As a purely personal thing, I'm kind of disappointed at how it handles Sorcery.

It talks the Terrifying Argent /Witches/ up as these great sorcerers/necromancers at the start, but that doesn't really amount to anything. The only things they get for that are a casting speed increase (with seriously drawbacks, making it only situationally useful), small discounts in return for taking more time and effort, Sorcery/Necromancy blending stuff which is both a bit nonsensical and fairly useless (apart from an implied niche use in reanimating things, even if that explicitly contradicts standard reanimation rules).

Even canon Lunars get something more creative, with Phantom Crossfire Feint.

This seems not quite as good as the other faction capstones. One makes you a combat savant with boosted teaching and training/learning abilities. The other gives you really good intimidation and a snowballing reputation. Being able to forge anti-evil weapons, and then non-Longinus SG equivalents after a century or so is not so useful by comparison. It's a bit more on par with the 400 cp perks.

Beerus, and by extension all of Dragon Ball, is meant to be taken seriously.
Saitama and all of OPM is not.

>>52177665

>>
>>52177599
>at Max Hype Saitama could only destroy half of the universe in one strike.

That's actually wrong. Nobody knows who said that, but it certainly wasn't the author, but somehow everyone takes it at fact anyway.
As for who would actually win, Saitama is supposed to be a purely comedic character with no defined level of power. It is completly arbitrary and always played for laughs. Which means in the OMP universe Saitama wins every time, but in the DB universe he has no chance, because its whole shtick is "oh no the powerlevel of x is even higher than y".
Basically, powerlevel discussions are stupid and should be discouraged.

Early Dragon Ball was also pretty much a parody of the current shonen heroes at the time, and Goku was also a NLF when it came to strength.

OPM is also semi-serious right now in the later arcs, specially in the webcomic right now.

Hey bro, Don't forget to include a weapon import option
>>
>>52177705
Who would win, a fusion of Beerus and Saitama or a +100 jumps Jumper?
>>
>>52177665
I never had an opinion about Bleach until I came here.

Hearing Bleach fans talk about it has slowly engendered a seething disgust for Bleach and everything it represents. Including sharktit waifus.
>>
>>52177703
that's why I said Hype not Canon,Read it again
>>
>>52177709
Ah, early 80's shonen. I'm sure it was very weird.
>>
>>52177695
Bleach assumes that all powers can be trained up, while GHQ has it so only one unique power isn't static. Also, Bleach's can be used in other forms, and in general has a wider range of abilities at all tiers. GHQ also makes you pay extra for several powers which are shared by all hollows.
>>
>>52177731
Perfectly normal reaction.
>>
>>52177703
That isn't really how Saitama's power is ever implied or stated to work either. He's just really, really strong and fast in a universe where nobody else is. Like if you dropped Silver Age Superman in Dragon Ball.
>>
>>52177330
Double up and become an uber Hollow. Become the apex soul consumer.
>>
>>52177758
Huh. To hear it talked about, I was wondering if I was the only one.

>>52177759
Also this. Gag characters having actual loony toons powers is a bad meme powerlevel autists take at face value.
>>
>>52177753
But does Bleach offer anything to make hollows appealing over the superior shinigami, especially when most hollow things are available in another jump?
>>
>>52177730
100+ jumps is a LOT of mary sue if you know you're going for max power. If I knew that at Jump 102, I had to fight Beertama (Sairus?) I could probably spec for it.
>>
>>52177731
>implying I'm a Bleach fan
Ow.

Still, even if I don't like Bleach, I see no reason to be dishonest about the capacities offered in the jump or showed by its characters. I mean, does anyone really judge a series by how powerful its characters are? Quality and ability to beat other people in fights are completely unrelated.
>>
>>52177789
>Gag characters having actual loony toons powers is a bad meme powerlevel autists take at face value.
Yet autists here will demand that as a legitimate reason each time they want something from a jump.
>>
>>52177779
Doubling up doesn't offer an advantage, though.
>>
>>52177703
We can go dumber.
Supers filler has shown Beerus wins against joke characters like Arale. He could still beat Saitama because joke fights are something beerus is shown to be immune to.
>>
>>52177753
>>52177795
Not him but I like notmal bleach hollows for arrancar, I dislike the shinigami and will probably only go that route to screw with the main storyline.
>>
>>52177779
Add Bount to the mix and make their arc non-canon. Become the ultimate snowflake.
>>
>>52177830
>Beerus is immune to joke fights/characters
He really is the strongest in the universe!

Well, I mean, Whis is, but still.
>>
>>52177546

Saitama wins, because Saitama is a plot device and Beerus is supposed to be an actual character. Saitama wins every time because Saitama wins every time.
>>
>>52177826
Who cares? Not everything is about power, and when else can you walk up to someone with a stupid grin and go "Joke's on you, I'm a double hollow which loops around to make me full" ?
>>
>>52177808
I dunno man, to hear how much folk seem to know about how the powers work I'd be surprised they'd know so much without having watched a sizeable part of the series.

By all means, if you're just talking capacity you do you. I haven't bothered personally because my disgust has reached the point where I see nothing worthwhile in the setting regardless of what there is on offer, and I know enough other settings that can probably emulate the stuff anyway.

>>52177830
More importantly, "joke fights" aren't actually a tangible force that confer advantages.
>>
>>52177789
Anon, trying to quantify Saitamas power is something powerlevel autists do. They would never accept something like loony toons powers.
>>
>>52177795
Yes. Shinigami aren't actually superior in the long run, because they have nifty magic and a sword with some neat gimmicks. The jump offers innate powers, that increase your own abilities for Hollows. Stuff like strength multipliers and power absorption, which both have more potential for long-chain jumpers. The best Shinigami stuff is all in the same vein.
>>
>>52177882
I haven't, though. I'm of the opinion we honestly don't know enough about the man to make an objective assessment. And we must've met differnet powerlevel autists then, because the ones I remember dealing with used some variant of "loony toons powers" as a last ditch justificaiton for their favorite character winning
>>
>>52177891
Man, have you ever watched the series? Hollows are all huge jobbers. Never at any point are they a threat to the shinigami.
>>
>>52177873
A lot of it's just osmosis. The rest is that a few quests and fanfics have legimately portrayed the setting well enough to interest me in certain aspects of the setting.
>>
>>52177916
Then you haven't met the real ones yet. The oldest and most experienced powerlevel autists rely 100% on shown feats and calculations.
Anyway, let's just drop this discussion. I always get disgusted by anything involving powerlevels.

Did this really have to happen just before finals? I feel like this could have happened at a better time. Do they not get that med-school is fucking hard? And the worst part is that I have to fake a reasonable level of study or else everyone gets suspicious. I am constantly, constantly on my guard this jump. Crime is high, the military is constantly on my ass about not interfering or setting off problems, and some people are trying to get me kicked out of college for randomly developing superpowers. I can turn them off and on at will, but when someone gets shot in front of you and all you have is magic healing lightning, you use what you've got. And even that gets me in trouble.

That I've no longer just got magic healing lightning is going to be kept a secret, because I don't want to be abducted for even more testing. I don't need this shit, my origin has parents I don't want to disappoint. The cake they made when I got into college alone makes me feel like disappointing them would be too much for me to handle. Fucking marble cakes, man. My companions aren't helping either, because they either fight crime or commit it and they all come to me for medical treatment if hurt. I mean, they're all fighting gangs, but it's a matter of methodology.

At least I have a Bowling Club to help get me through these trying times. What the fuck was this me thinking? Bowling Club.

>>
>>52178394
That'd be fine if people in DBS weren't FTL. A Timestop would probably work, but I'm not sure if anything in those jumps gives you the destructive/lethal ability to make use of it.
>>
>>52178443
Reminder that Namek-saga Vegeta was able to break a timestop.
>>
>>52178407
Can it? We saw Ban recover from being turned into a bloody mist, but that still implies some of him was left. We're not sure if Zombie would allow recovery from complete eradication since that was shown able to kill beings with similar regenerative powers like Buu and Cell.
>>
>>52178443
Dragon Ball is fucking FTL now? I thought that was always wank.

...Can Goku actually beat up Superman now?
>>
>>52178457
That just reflects poorly on the time-stop, to be honest.
>>
>>52178482
The one you can buy in the jump explicitly says you can do.e back from your body bei g erased form existence.
>>
>>52178443
There's a dude with time stops in Super. They beat him.
>>
>>52178394
Problem 1: "You must actively parry these attacks" and it's a little hard to actively parry an effect that causes all of you to literally start disintegrating with a word.

Problem 2: It says it works on physical or magical attacks, doesn't say spiritual ones. Debatable on which Beerus' little trick counts as, and knowing how lore-sparse DB tends to be we'll likely never get a straight answer.

>>52178407
The attack worked on a kami, dude. Pretty sure it'd work on a soul. Also not sure if it was meant to be a joke episode or not, but Beerus erased a ghost dude too later on. Oh, and- "whilst you are immortal and regenerating, there are wepapons and abilities that can force your body to heal at the normal rate" so relying on that alone is a sucker's game.

And before anyone asks-I am not wanking Beerus. I'm just basing this on a few memorable scenes on youtube to demonstrate just because you've been to two of the jumps most brought up in how to kill discussions doesn't actually make you completely untouchable.
>>
>>52178485
It's been FTL since DBZ, though not enough to contend with Superman. Now? Almost certainly.
>>
>>52178485
Dragon Ball has been FTL since forever. Superman is also FTL when he actually wants to be.

>>52178505
Fair enough for me.
>>
>>52178507
Because they only last half a fucking second.
>>
>>52178485
There's a long blog post somebody did in response to the deathmatch youtube vid between supes and Goku where they crunched a bunch of the math involved with the feats they were pulling off in Dragonball.

They were fighting and dodging FTL ki blasts before DBZ was even a thing.
>>
>>52178512
>Pretty sure it'd work on a soul.
Power of Dominance or No Soul To Burn.
>>
>>52178507
Yeah, but those time-stops only last half a second at most, and explicitly have an escape clause for people of higher power-levels. I think that's more of a low showing for that specific time-stops, because a proper time-stops shouldn't even allow your opponent to interact with it.
>>
>>52178529
OG Dragonball was not FTL. I literally give no shits about your math, that was just animu animation and you'd have to be literally non-functioningly autistic to believe otherwise.
>>
>>52178443
Off the top of my head, so far the only abilities that come to mind are The Goal of All Life is Death and World Breaker.

>>52178505
Technically it says "burnt away to nothing" not erased from existence. Definitely not here to argue which Beerus' thing is though, unless there's an actual answer out there I'm not aware of.

>>52178544
Anon was claiming he could beat Beerus with only those jumps.

Also I have to wonder how many people who took No Soul To Burn actually watched Ghost Rider enough to notice Blackheart was still being hurt from having hellfire flung at him. He just wasn't getting penance stare'd.
>>
>>52178544
>Power of Dominance
You knew that Beerus could harm souls, and chose to get in a fight with him. Pretty sure that counts as consent by Wild_Card.

>>
>>52178675
no
>>
>>52178641
That's true, though I figured the clincher was it was charged full of supernatural bad juju since the other demons were playing around with their own elemental powers, and Blackheart had his own hellish cold decay powers going on that let him briefly dim the Rider's flames when he got him in a chokehold.

>>52178608

>>

Sufficient mind rape. Reality runs on consensus, so with enough work you should be able to counter the end times by convincing enough people of the right beliefs.

It's a bit skeezy I admit, but it works.
>>
>>52178824
No, it's consenting at all. You can't back out later if you decide you don't like where it's going, so it's probably a similar concept.

No it hasn't gone deep enough. You have to tear down the very foundations of stupid. You have to kill the writers and start over from scratch.
>>
>>52178898
A duel in that it's a premeditated beatdown fest agreed on by both parties, so you can still walk up to Satan and stab him while keeping your soul safe, but it probably wouldn't protect you if you said you'd settle it next week in the parking lot.

>>
>>52178935
Look, I like Wild_Card, but his ruling was in response to somebody talking about Power of Dominance protecting you from getting your soul blasted by the magic everybody and their mother uses there.

Instead of accepting that when taken to a setting that is entirely built on soul targetting attacks a perk that protects your soul would be a godsend and understandably useful, he came in and ruled that getting into a duel with people in undertale counted as consent to harm your soul.

It was the same kind of kneejerk reaction he did with the Genius origin in Chrono Trigger.
>>
>>52178608
As long as it's not written in the actual jump document whatever bullshit Wild Card says can be safely ignored.
>>
>>52179054
>if it's not in the doc it doesn't count
That's not how it works here, SB.
>>
>>52178818
>It's another "you can never ever criticize the decisions of jumpmaker" episode
His rulings are stupid and you know it.
>>
>>52179078
What, do you expect me to comb through every post of the jumpmaker before I make a build for a jump? Hell no. If he wanted to make his ruling stick he should have updated the jump.
>>
>>52178608
What's really funny about PoD is that it doesn't even protect the users soul in canon.
There's essentially no basis for that part of the perk. None of his problems with that perk would have happened if he didn't add that last bit of text in.
>>
>>52179085
No, it's perfectly reasonable to nerf an entire tree because you don't like people using your jump to have fun with their builds.
>>
>>52179106
You know how it's supposed to work and choose to wank otherwise.
Being ignorant is an excuse that you don't have.
>>
>>52179132
It doesn't matter if I'm ignorant or not. When his jump was reviewed and put on the drive it was assumed that PoD works as described in the perk, not how he thinks it should work. If he wants to change its effect to "only protects against soul attacks if you defend yourself" then he should change the jump and post it in the thread. Otherwise it doesn't have any legitimacy.
>>
>>52179085
Was about to close this out when I saw your post.
I just find it ridiculous that people can't go, "Well, that's stupid and doesn't match canon, so I'm ignoring it."

Are you autistic? I don't mean it in the meme way, I'm serious?
Are you autistic like Manyfist is?
>>
>>52179132
To be fair, it's not like there's much ambiguity in the jump. Most rulings are brought up when something is unclear; but the perk isn't unclear, it's just that Wild_Card later ruled that "consent" is more follows the victim-blamer's definition of the word.
>>
Schools out.

People don't need to overhaul a jump every time they say something. You know the intent of the perk. That's all the legitimacy you need. You can't just laugh off the guy who made the damn thing telling you how it's supposed to work.

Yes, but it's the kind of thing that needs to be reflected in the jump document, because the perk says the opposite. Literally the only way you'd find out it work like that if you weren't there when he made the ruling would be when anons start REEEEING at you for using a perk the way it's described, instead of the way it works in WC's head.

Why would anyone defend the idea that a perk should make your soul invulnerable in this world where methods to survive/revive from body death are scattered about?
>>
>>52179306
Because I know he made the ruling.
I'm also biased since I don't rely on that part of PoD at all so it effects me less than others. It's supposed to be for getting new moves from monsters, the whole soul defense is just an extra.

>>52179345
I'm not going to stop you from ignoring the ruling. Really it's fine the ruling is dumb and contradictory. But to say that only things in jump documents matter is really not true. That's way lies hyperwank and nameplates.

No interjump balance. Things in one jump have no bearing on things in any other jump.
Doesn't matter what kind of bs combo you can come up with.

Course being immune to soul damage and only being a soul doesn't mean you're invincible. There's still plenty of ways to die.
Although you would be invincible in a whole lot of settings that's the same case for being a ghost so it doesn't matter.

That's still interjump balance. Combos have been around since forever that make you totally bullshit or outright unbeatable. Also, someone could still mindcrush you or attack you on a conceptual level with Zombie+PoD. Just make a Umineko or Dies Irae jump, and I guarantee that you'll be able to die as much as you want.
>>
>>52173264

Actually the only reason the spell didn't kill more than a third of the army is because said army was specifically noted to have been split into 3 different groups. The group Ainz targeted and killed were on a different hill than everyone else. If they had all been grouped together there is nothing to suggest it wouldn't have hit everyone.

He also deliberately chose to target one of the side groups, and not the main army, specifically because there were people in the main army (and the other side army) that he didn't want killed.

That's why Marquis Raeven, the King, Gazef Stronoff, and Climb were not killed by the Dark Young, because they were being specifically targeted to be 'spared' from the Dark Young's attacks, and it's for the same reason Ainz didn't target the formations they were in with his spell.

Also the Death Knights are considered country destroyers in the New World, mostly because they're not only extremely powerful but also because everyone they kill turns into a zombie, so they can start the equivalent of a zombie apocalypse if allowed to run unchecked. That's strait from Fluder Paradyne, who managed to capture a 'natural born' Death Knight on the Katze plains with the help of a group of his apprentices.

Journal Entry # 2610

So I am writing this after the fact. I was a bit busy and couldn’t really get much written during my previous jump. It was a weird game. I am still not sure how to describe it. I wound up clearing up a bunch of time loops and creating a universe that was also a frog. I also created myself and my companions via wibbly wobbly timey wimey stuff (I have time powers now so I am legally allowed to say that).

It was an overly complicated thing and the fate of 3 worlds hang in the balance it’s a good thing future me was dropping by periodically informing me what to do. I would then do the same at a later point after having uncovered the knowledge. This way we were able to react on knowledge early. I would say it was cheating but there were no rules against it. Anyways we won through not-cheating.

Red has been oppressing us for years, anon. Don't you think it's about time we stand up and say.we won't take any more? Or will you just lie down, think of Australia, and beg for more? It's only fititng that it comes in the form of a Khaos Brigade perk.
>>

Just ignore that waste of skin already.

It's been around long enough that everyone should know to starve the wretch of the attention it craves.

You know what you assholes need to do if you really want to kill the thread? Make high-quality jumps that break the rules in such a way that a decent percentage of posters want to allow the jump.

Like, make a jump of a setting that's right on the fence of being lewd, or a replacement jump for a jump that people really, really don't like. The key here is not asking before you do it, it'll be more effective if a finished product comes out of nowhere.

Put some goddamn effort into your trolling.
>>
>>52180298
Replacement Jumps are too much effort for them to put that much in and lewdness gets shot down too quickly.

What they need to do is find another hobby. But that's too much like asking them to behave like normal people.
>>
>>52180298
Oh, you mean like Overwatch and most of the jumps our most prominent namefags have made recently?
>>
heavens how do you destroy the moons in deadspace

I know right? It's obvious, but they aren't interested in putting up, and they won't shut up either.

Of course, they're never actually complaining about the trash jumps like Prototype or Deus Ex or Code Geass. They just don't like fun.
>>
>>52179522
Trying to 'balance' one jump against another jump is a pointless waste of time and effort. You're never going to 'balance' something like Eclipse Phase against 9-to-5, or Supreme Commander against something like the Sitcom jump.

Different jumps are different jumps. Being faithful to the jump as its represented is what jump authors should be aiming for, rather than trying to arbitrarily hobble it in order to keep in line with some non-sense idea of 'being balanced against other jumps'.

If jumpers want a high-power jump, they can do that. If they want low power jumps, they can do that. Trying to arbitrarily state 'no, you can't do that because Jump X isn't balanced against Jump Y' is nothing more than saying 'bad wrong fun'.

If there's specific inter-jump interacts that actually require clarification because of vague or unclear wording that is one thing, but to state that all jumps must be balanced against all other jumps is just stupid.

>Overwatch
You can start bitching as soon as we see proof Dick and Head aren't dead.
>>
>>52180369
I thought Prototype got fixed?
>>
>>52180298
I dont see how that would kill the thread snyways, Getting a good jump in place of trash would be a good thing, people would bitch and moan for a few days sure but it wouldnt murder /jc/.
>>
>>52180369
Pretty sure prototype got updated and is currently fairly decent. In the complete with images folder.
>>
>>52180419
It's bait.
>>
>>52180424
It wouldn't, because most people would still be having reasonable discussions about decent jumps. The only sure way to kill this thread is to completely eliminate interest or make the thread unbearable, but obviously people have different tastes and tolerances, so that's not likely to work.

>>52180061
That's not the same as literal immortality.
>>
>>52179826
Something for designing counters to specific types of magic, like the Sacred Gear Canceller.
>>
>>52180549
Who gives a shit? Inter-jump balance, again. You're covering a weakness that can be plausibly covered. It shouldn't be barred just because it synergizes with specific perks that allow you to exist as a soul.
>>
>>52180549
It's pretty much the same. There's no effective difference other than you REEEEING at it being "OP".
>>
is there a good xp system in any jump? Danmachi is the closest to what I'm looking for atm, but it has it's own issues that I don't want to deal with, and while The Gamer is decent, I just am not sure if it fits what I am looking for
>>
Still trying to find an update on Majora's Mask if anyone knows anything.

>>52180754
What are you looking for?
>>
>>52180549
Here's a tip; all Jumpers are invincible. Once you've hit even your 100th jump, unless you're deliberately avoiding power, you are functionally impossible for anyone in any of the settings in Jumpchain to beat. Being literally immortal is simply enforcing a reality that already exists. Being unable to die doesn't really do much when mortals can't even harm you and the things that can fight you are capable of casually banning you from existence.
>>
>>52180844
Pretty sure Majora's Mask Anon disappeared last year.
>>
Bait is out in force today.
>>
>>52180844
right now, something that isn't too powerful, and doesn't have feats, or feat equivalents, tacked on
>>
>>52180865
It's entirely possible to go to 100 jumps and still be street-level in Marvel or something, provided you pick all the places with no magic and such first.

There's more than enough of those for that.
>>
>>52180946
Which is why I specified "deliberately avoiding power."
It's possible to do it if you're consciously avoiding settings above a certain level and deliberately not taking perks with any kind of synergy, yes.
>>
>>52180946
I would think that would fall under "deliberately avoiding power", anon.
>>
>>52180865
But that's the thing, most Jumpers don't really focus on raw power for one reason or another. The few who do are wildly uninteresting to talk about. So tossing a statement like that out is pretty silly. It's probably true, but silly.
>>
>>52180979
>>52180984
I missed that.
>>
>>52180877
Can I take up the torch? I have his old work in progress so I could use that...

>>52180914
The Gamer can be reskined with Restat or something like that but all the other xp systems that I know about are from D&D places. Maybe TOME or the Generic Videogame Jump? Sorry I can't think of anything else.
>>
>>52181020
I know. The point I was making was that bitching about something that honestly makes no difference in narrative terms is ridiculous. Saying that gaining immortality from a perk combination shouldn't be allowed is ultimately pointless because the same functional effect is inevitably achieved simply due to the nature of Jumpchain.

If someone wants to become immortal then they probably aren't going to die anyway. If someone doesn't want to become immortal then it doesn't matter because they won't take the perk.
>>
>>52181020
That's just your opinion. Someone's builds are almost entirely unrelated to how interesting their chain is. It's what you do with that makes your story interesting.
>>
>>52181042
yeah, I'm just going to go with The Gamer. Thanks!
>>
>>52181042
Pretty sure it should be cool for you to take up Majora's Mask. He's been gone for months now, and I don't think he's coming back.
