Repostin' question about 2E storm bolters and termies: gotta kill fast, 6 models fast edition.

When using Rapid Fire + Sustained Fire, do you roll the hits together (so if one hit jams, the other still hits), or one at a time (so if the first jams, you can't fire the second)? If it's the latter, how does that work with unjamming and my second shot? Nothing says anything about interrupting rapid fire if the first one jams, but with GW, that's hardly indicative of anything.

Pic related is the relevant rules.

POST YOUR HOMEBREW CHARACTER RULES, FAGGOTS Because you know this is the only place you'll use them

The Crystal King (165pts)
>The leader of the Glass Host of the Apostate Kings, the minor Chaos Lord who goes by the name of the Crystal King is a brilliant strategist and fearsome warrior on the battlefield, who favors the use of ever-forward momentum, misdirection, and psychological warfare on the foes of the Apostate Kings. Permanently bonded to the Armor of Mosaics, an ancient armor of ever-changing Warp-glass that defracts and blinds foes in close proximity and possesses a Daemonic sentience, he strides forth into battle with his Plasma Pistol and the daemonic mace Mirror-Hand to harvest the foes of Slaanesh and turn their remains into works of Hell-forged glass and sculpture.

>Frag and Krak Grenades

Relics of the Host:
>Armor of Mosaics: This armor is a twisting, ever-changing tapestry of blasphemous works to the Dark Prince, and embues its bearer with unholy vitality and incredible resilience to damage. This armor provides a 2+ Save and the Eternal Warrior special rule. Its bearer also counts as having Defensive Grenades.

>Mirror-Hand: A shimmering mace of unholy Daemonic power, Mirror-Hand is used by the Crystal King to shatter any and all that surrounds him that does not appeal to his Warp-twisted sense of fractal beauty.

Mirror-Hand is a Power Maul with the following profile:

S+2 AP4 Rules: Melee, Shred, Concussive, Blind, Daemon Weapon

Put him in a Bang-Bus with some Plasma Chosen or Power Maul Chosen and he wrecks face like the demi-god he is...but he has a habit of dying to other Plasma Chosen and massed Executioners.

just follow the sustained fire rules, man

>The player nominates the initial target and rolls to hit exactly as normal. If the player makes the to hit roll he can roll one (or more) special sustained fire dice to see how many actual hits are scored by the hail of fire.

A storm bolter rolls one die to hit. A rapid firing storm bolter rolls two dice to hit. For any of its hits you can roll 1 sustained fire die to determine the result of the shooting (since it's a sustained fire-1 weapon). Easy peasy.

Turn 2: Bomb warps in. Pathfinders get Psychic Shrieked, Broadsides and half of Kroot die to Dflamer. Soulburst kills remaining kroot. Fortunately due to poor positioning they don't do anything the rest of the game. Devilfish immobilizes itself. Jetbikes charge at broadsides and ghostkeel. Did I mention they have banshee masks? They do. Kill them and consolidate into more combat. 1 locks up with remaining stealth suits, 1 kills piranha drones.

Turn 3: Jetbikes charge O'Ralai, previously wounded twice by his own gets hot, he dies. Jetbikes multicharge into breachers and piranha, piranha lives, breachers die. Warp bomb kills Devilfish. Forgot about that part, it actually would have tied the game if it held the objective it was on. So would the Remora but it didn't come in. Crisis Suits drop, kill some Kabalites and hold a point.

Close to three hours, three turns. Felt like 5 with all the soulbursting.

Remaining Tau forces: Devilfish drones, immobilized piranha, 3 crisis suits + shield drone, Remora in reserve.
Remaining Ynnari forces: Jetbike squad, 2 kabalite units, warp bomb.

Lost by 1 point. Thanks objectives!

>>
>>52166034

Honestly, this has been a question for all of 40k's lifetime. Pick a faction/models you like with a play style you enjoy and stick with it. Updates come, metas change. If you follow WACC and cheese you'll just be chasing a train that'll piss you off just to keep up with. As much as people on here complain about the sky falling, I don't see factions being squatted, there will probably be new models and a changing meta.

Soo...if it's the model/paint part you're interested in, go ahead and start whenever. If it's the rules meta that scares you...you will be in a state of perpetual terror from this game.

Well it's a Chaos Mark so it also gives the bearer the ability to ignore pain since all they can think about is spilling blood. It makes them stronger and faster and gives them the skill they need to chop the enemy into even more chunks than they could have before. It's also not supposed to be a purely combat boon (although that's all that can really be shown on the tabletop.) Bearing the Mark means that unlike the untold billions that worship Chaos without an answer, Khorne has marked you as his chosen. He's claimed you. Like it or not, the bearer is forever in the service of Khorne, which many see as another step on the path to Daemonic Ascension.

Also Khorne doesn't really think I'm strategy, he thinks like an economist, except with blood. Whatever spills the most blood is the correct path for Khorne, he would rather win with a billion deaths on both sides than a billion on the enemy's and a million on yours.

The Icon of Wrath grants Furious Charge as well as re-rollable charges.

None of the other gods allow you to make more attacks, only attack faster or be resistant to attacks. Khorne allows you to overwhelm your enemy with attacks, and strengthen you.

Tabletop wise, a squad of 10 CSM with CCWs and Bolt Pistols has 20A. 30A on the charge. Khornate CSM with the same options have 20A. 40A on the charge, and with an Icon of Wrath, 40 S5 attacks on the charge. And for an army who's soldiers are lords of the battlefield, and willing to get into melee, that's a good thing.

Also, never underestimate the intelligence of a Khornate. This has led to the death of many a man.

Because GW hates CSM. They had +1A, and replaced it with Rage and Counter-Attack.
>>
>>52166885
Because it's a game and I'm assuming they didn't want to bloat the rules even further. If the Marks were super lore-friendly then the Mark of Tzeentch would make a model a ML1 Psyker, the rest would give FNP, Slaanesh would get 6' extra movement, Nurgle would get an extra wound, Khorne would get +2A +2S etc etc.
>>

So basically it's a 'blessing' that forces you to fight in melee to be effective, while letting you surpass your limits if you actually get there. So, here's what I came up with. Any input is welcome. A second, actually usable formation for Grey Knights. Sure, it ends up being a Nemesis Strike Force +, but so was the original formation, but you had to take a FUCKING ASSLOAD more units and the only added benefit was 3+ harness while the Grand Master is alive. Now you can use the NSF for <1000pt games, and this one for >1000pt games with plenty of opportunity to inflate points the total per unit very well and keep the familiar "Teleports behind you" playstyle.

Old Brotherhood formation: 2305 points base.
New Brotherhood formation: 1120 points base.

>>
>>52166986
From a lore standpoint, you should ignore the tabletop stuff then.

Lore-wise, if you have the Mark of Khorne, then you're a dude who's exceptionally good at fightning. It doesn't matter how you do it so ling as it's kot sorcery. Mowing dudes down with a Heavy Bolter as they charge at your bunker? This is fine, and is even part of the Khorne Daemonkin Warband, The Harvest's fluff. They prefer to defend than attack, so they'll steal (read: kill inhabitants) a fortification or Fortress Monastery, and slay the invaders who were coming in the first place. Slicing and dicing with a knife? Yeah, that's fine too. Lying your way out of a bad situation just to turn it around and stab them all in the back, literally? Yeah, that's fine. Just hacking at dudes with an axe? Yeah, they're all good.

Khorne cares not from where the blood flows, so long as it does.

>>52167040
Remember, Power Armor is as effective as the writer says it is. But Space Marines are extremely fast and strong. Try hitting a moving target, much less one that can run as fast as a cheetah and can easily rip your head off with his bare hands.
>>
Speaking of Marks, you get them instantly the moment you pledge yourself to a God, or are you required to make an offering, sacrifice, or other acts of faith to get it?
>>
>>52167048
Did you do this in photoshop or in MS Paint?
>>
>>52167048
I'm fucking smart...It's 2045 points base for the old Brotherhood Formation. I had some extra units left in my total calculation. Still, from 220 points base for the basic Nemesis Strike Force ballooning to 2045 points base only to get 3+ warp charge harnesses seems a bit unreasonable.
>>
>>52167040

Remember, I said that it doesn't matter if it's melee or not, so long as it's NOT Psyker power. That's the big no-no. A regiment of traitor guard gunning down their ex-brethren or a rioting slave revolt hacking and smashing everyone and thing on a mining world are all things that can be Khornate.

But anyways, Cultists and Renegades are like Imperial Guard in that, against non regular human enemies (Most Xenos, Space Marines, Chaos Space Marines, etc.) they'll quite easily die, even if they have Imperial Guard equipment and training, as they're just normal humans. The same can be said for the Imperial Guard as well. Both sides only win due to sheer numbers. And as in both sides, the truly luckiest and greatest will find the greatest of promotions.

Read 1d4chan and lurk some more. The wiki gives you the flavors of the factions. Pick the one you like. Then start collecting. Make a tiny 500 point army with the list builder tool linked in the OP. Post it for comment. Then buy. Then make. Then play. Then paint. Then get more. etcetc

Also play the Dawn of War games. All are good except Soulstorm. I'd recommend you play the first one but the definitive experince imo is Dark Crusade for the 1st game line up and Retribution for the 2nd games exps.

Read the Ciaphas Cain books and the Horus Heresy books.

A normal human rarely ever gets Marks. If they do then they have to do some REALLY insane shit, like killing an entire hive city with a mega-nuke or killing a SM captain in single combat.

Berzerkers are just that good, they're the kind of crazy that ignores any and all dangers, pain, or common sense and rush at the enemy with the speed and ferocity of a freight train. They also die in droves and are fine with it because they're crazy and Blood for the Blood God!

As for the extra movement, gameplay-wise it's so they can actually get a charge in. Lore-wise, I'm guessing they're in such a rage they're able to sprint towards the enemy with a speed only a Chaos God could grant. Slaanesh isn't the only one who can give the gift of speed.

Think of it this way. Squad sergeants and veterans of pretty much every faction gain extra attacks when you upgrade them, right? Having extra attacks with the same statline is indicative of having more experience, even if that is only reflected by an increase in melee competence on the tabletop.

Thus, a Mark of Khorne that grants extra attacks is essentially jumpstarting that level of higher skill and experience. Khorne isn't outright giving you skill though, he's giving you the frenzied do-or-die attitude to hone your skill or die trying. If you succeed, you're on par with any veteran when it comes to skill, and if you live long enough to become one yourself you'll be a step above your peers. And this skill can be expanded outward to other aspects of warfare that aren't covered by the extra attack, simply because the constant bloodlust will force you to seek more battle.

In short, while the other Marks of Chaos grant power directly, Khorne simply grants opportunity for greatness, which fits quite well into his philosophy on Sorcery and his followers doing their own work.

Keep in mind this is just the most common depiction of devotees of Khorne, according to the fluff there's just as many who devote themselves excessively to military drilling etc. and even Berzerkers are given a lot less tactical credit than they deserve. In the recent series about Kharn the Betrayer he even stops for a moment mid battle to think about weapon trajectories and has to run some numbers in his head before charging.

This guy, >>52167507 isn't wrong. I had a blast trying to figure out how I'd make a Malleus in Terminator Armor with Hammer and Psycannon while not just using a Grey Knights. >>
>>52167377
It functions as a normal sub phase. Eg. If a soul burst leads to a charge during a shoot phase it's treated as it's own sub-phase so if the unit can over watch they can. Once the charge is resolved, the shooting phase is resumed where it left off. Any shots or whatever taken during that charge sub-phase are snap shots and the only actions taken can only be actions for or in response to a charge/assault. If when the shooting phase resumes and a unit that didn't shoot becomes locked in combat, they're sol and can't take a shooting action.
>>
>>52167549
Probably either Abaddon, Kharn or Lelith Hesperax. I wouldn't have put Kharn in this catagory but in a recent book he actually fought Abaddon and was going toe to toe with him until an envoy from Khorne basically told them to knock it off because Khorne had plans for both of them. And Khorne only stops his champions from killing each other if they REALLY matter to him, like bloodthirsters and princes and shit.

>>52167551
Jain Zar is pretty good because of her disarm and "Fuck you, RFG" abilities.

Kharn because he hits on 2+ AP2 and at really high strength. Kharn on a charge has been known to solo kill Super Heavies if he gets the first strike.

While I've got some Inquisitor guys here. How is the best way to build both shooty and melee Inquisitor bands?

In thinking for shooty, conversion beamer/hellrifle with two monkeys, servitor multi meltas and multi melta acolytes and maybe a psyker

For melee, hammer and terminator armour with death cult assassin's, crusaders and priest/missionaries stuffed in a land raider

Any thoughts?

Well, before the retarded "No battle-brothers in transports" FAQ, I used to put the Malleus Inquisitor with some Paladins in a GK Land Raider and give him the Liber Heresius. Bam, scouting Land Raider. Or. I'd do 2 Nemesis Strike Forces to fit my 2 Dreadknights and a Land Raider as a heavy support so I could turn 1 scout some Purifiers and the Inquisitor.
>>
>>52167568
I should also add since you have a question about the BS modifier - this will only affect a snap shot taken at any time during a turn if the power gear or ability explicitly states it affects snap shots.
>>
>>52167628
Whatever you do, you need at least a few generic and cheap acolytes to take bullets for the actual combat pieces.

Also for melee I prefer the rad/psycho grenade inquisitor. They make sure your dudes can make the most of that all important first round of combat.

>‘We failed, father,’ said Guilliman, his words tired and leaden with sorrow. ‘You failed your sons, and we, in our turn, failed you. And now, to compound our arrogance and vainglory, we have failed all of them, too. Did Horus not say that you sought godhood? He built a rebellion upon that claim. How he would gloat, to see the Imperium now.’

>Anger surged through the Lord of Ultramar, and he clenched his fists with the effort of self-restraint. He imagined destroying this chamber, tearing it apart and hurling its wreckage around like a wild beast. He dared not, lest these strangers in his Chapter’s livery see through his facade. Though he wrestled with despair, the Primarch knew that he could not let his weakness show. Calgar, Tigurius, Agemman, all the others – they looked at him as though he were the Emperor himself. Guilliman was painfully aware of his symbolic quality, and of how desperate and dark the hour had become. He must show nothing but strength to his gene-sons, lest his despair taint their hearts, too.

>Even as he said it, Guilliman heard the lie in his words. Amongst his brothers, none had been more idealistic than Roboute Guilliman. None had envisioned a brighter future, not just for Mankind but also for the warriors of the Legiones Astartes. That flame of hope had been a part of him for as long as he had lived. Even now, as it was smothered by darkness and woe, Guilliman realised that his flame endured.

>‘There’s hope still,’ he told himself, turning back to the window and placing one armoured palm against it. He stared out at the work gangs, labouring to repair the damage of war, and the Ultramarines stood proud and determined upon the ramparts. They had been born into this dark millennium, and had known nothing but the hardship, suffering and despair of unending conflict. Yet still they struggled on unbowed, despite the countless enemies ranged against them. Guilliman had seen a better age, one of hope and triumph. What right had he, a superhuman son of the Emperor himself, to show any less strength and courage than his followers born in darkness?

>It had not been easy, for Guilliman’s mind was a pristine fortress of order and rationality, and his mental defences were formidable. Yet slowly, carefully, the deed had been done. Kairos had teased forth Guilliman’s guilt, his anger and disappointment at what remained of the Imperium, his fears for its future. The Daemon had intended to continue his work until the Primarch was quite mad before attempting this ritual, but the intervention of the interfering Eldar had forced Kairos’ hand.

Commandante Aureliano Alatriste
WS6 BS5 S4 T4 W6 I5 A4 Ld10 Sv2+
Monstrous Creature (Character)

>Warlord Trait:
Rites of War

>Special Rules:
- And They Shall Know No Fear
- Chapter Tactics (Iron Hands)
- Slow and Purposeful
- Curse of Torpor
As the curse of Seng'har the Sublime continues to ravage Alatriste's body, rendering him unable to muster much effort without titanic mental effort.
At the beginning of each turn, make a Leadership test for this model. If it is passed, nothing happens. If it is failed, subtract d3 from this models WS, BS, I, A and LD until the end of the turn.
- Carried into Battle
If their commander would be unable to join them on the frontlines by his own power, the Brazen Gryphons decided to bring him there in a manner befit of his status. Four of the chapters' elite terminators carry a massive throne seating Alatriste on their shoulder. The commander finds this highly embarrassing, but could not deny his subordinates' earnest wish.
A model with this special rule gains +2 Wounds (already included in the profile). In addition, at Initiative 1 this model makes another 4 attacks with the following profile: WS4 S8 AP2 Concussive.

>Wargear
Terminator Armor
Iron Halo
Chainfist

Relics
- Excellion, the Warmth of the Sun
This spear has long been the badge of office for the chaptermaster of the Brazen Gryphons. It's blade usually radiates gentle warmth, but blazes with heat in battle.
S+1 AP2 Melee, Two-handed, Shred, Deflagrate

- Bastion Desafiante
No one is quite sure what the Bastion Desafiante was originally supposed to be. Some speculate it might have been a tower shield for a gargantuan warrior, while others hold that it was supposed to be a prototype armor plate for a vehicle. The Brazen Gryphons' artificers have laboured to turn the protective relic into a palanquin.
A model with this item may reroll failed invulnerable saves. In addition, subtract -1 from rolls on the Destroyer table against this model.

Unless you play against actual xenos with low armor saves and invuls I say just say it's a cool looking relic blade. Same points and you will actually wound regularly, not like usual mobs have an inv or it would make a difference against TEQ. Or did the DW Captain not have that option unless he's in Terminator armor ? I remember there being some stupid limitation like that.

Just checked my DW codex (bought it along with the minis but I can't get around assembling them), a Terminator Captain can take a relic blade. However for some reason it's not discounted like for other Terminator Captains which is bullshit.

>Kamael, Master of the 9th Company of the Dark Angels, The Holder of the Azure Key, The Long Sword of the Lion.
>Dark Angel Company Master, swap BS and WS
>Company Master gear, artificer armor, power sword and a plasma assault cannon:
>firing modes S7 AP2 hot salvo 3/4 or S7 AP2 heavy 2 blast, master crafted and gets hot.

I also had an idea to swap out the minigun for what basically looked like a plasma sawed off shotgun (two smaller plasma barrel and a pistol grip) and make it an assault 2 master crafted plasma pistol that could be used in assault - just swap your normal attacks for two S7 AP2 gets hot hits. Think I came up with this before the Cypher dataslate.

That's a bit much if you ask me. I would go instead with "if the LD test is passed the model can attack normally; if the test is failed he instead makes 4 S8 AP2 unwieldy attacks" - the boss weakens so his boys fight for him.

Note: The whole Gathering Storm series is a bit skub. It details a bunch of ongoing/recent events that radically alter many things about the 40k setting.
>>
Gulliman is stated in gathering storm to have been the most optimistic Primarch, having a wholehearted vision of humanity’s shining future. After wrestling with his own failings, the emperor’s obvious failings and the decayed state of the imperium, he notes that he can’t shake that core of hope, draws some strength from the determination of people who’ve been born into this craphole, and forces himself to stand up and get on with things.

Gulliman’s nemesis was generally Lorgar. The gathering storm book focuses on Magnus instead because he has a model even though I’m not even aware of those two -meeting- after battle lines were drawn in the heresy, but okay.

But anyhow, Lorgar’s entire problem was a lack of hope. He literally can’t function without a higher power telling him he’s important. His fall to chaos was basically him dropping everything to look for a god, any god, to worship.

This’d justify why they hate one another so much pretty well. And before that, why Gulliman threw his all his efforts behind the emperor’s vision whilst Lorgar sat around telling everyone how important the emperor was, and how he’s the emperor’s son and the emperor is God so clearly he’s Jesus you guys should praise him every day.

Remember, the Emperor wasn’t just punishing Lorgar for spreading religion, but also for having by far the least success as a general because he’d stop for years on each planet to be thoroughly sure everyone was converted to his religion instead of moving on and doing his job.

GrimJaw must always be your warlord and has the bellowing tyrant warlord trait.

>All Dis iz MINE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! All ork units in any detachment in which Grand Warlord GrimJaw is included have objective secured.

Grand Warlords Loot:

>Da cybork Spine:
Grand Warlord Grimjaw had his spine shattered and most of his torso crushed trying to loot a wraithknight during a raid upon an exodite world long ago. His doks and Meks eager to keep in the wealth and scap his Waaagh provided threw open the vault of da bosses loot. Some old runtherds say it was an old piece of human tech that they built the spine around, or even something that was originally pulled deep from within the warp. The spine has entwined with the warlords physiology and will even grow to fill wounds he suffers while in the thick of battle, giving him incredible toughness even for an Ork.

Da Cybork spine gives Grimjaw eternal warrior and a 5++ invulnerable save which is increased by +1 for every wound he suffers to a maximum of 2++, this increased save stays until the end of the battle even if GrimJaw somehow regains his lost wounds.

>Grand Warlords Banner:

S+3 AP3 Rules: Melee, Shred, Concussive.

Da grand warlords banner counts as a Waaaagh! banner.

Man, I admit that I didn't play DW yet but based on my overall experience I see so many issues here. Why bother with the Black Spear if you if don't use Kill Teams and deep strikes extensively ? Unit by unit:

>dread with no drop pod
I don't think I need to say anything.
>10 Vets in a rhino
I guess you want to fire the two heavy weapons out of the hatches but that's 275 points of 3+ saves driving across the table in a Rhino. Cut the number down and put them in a Razorback or deep strike them, otherwise they will pop your transport and that 275 points will just die in the open as any other tactical marine.
>Corvus
I guess it carries the Captain's formation to close combat ?
>CC Captain in a Vet squad.
This team sucks at CC. The cost of the Captain wargear does not justify him as any deterrent against dedicated CC units and the vets will get mulched if they charge anything. Their melee weapon options are a trap.

>small Aquila kill team with a Lib
Solid but at the current moment the FAQ forbids them from taking a transport

>shooty Knight
Solid as long as you don't run into Tau or Eldar.

If I were you I would either take:

a) Black Spear with the DW Company formation and 4 Aquilas plus a dropship, dread in a drop pod and the Knight. Kill Teams should either have one heavy weapon each and a bike for split fire or have 2-4 heavy weapons while another team is stacked with special weapons. For example: the frag cannon team, the infernus bolter team, the grav gun team and the stalker bolter team that doesn't deep strike but starts on the table with a homing becon and a psyker with divination, taking pot shots at bikes, characters and MCs

cont in the next reply

>>52167988
Obviously Dungeoness
>>
>>52169305

Whether he was right about gods existing is entirely irrelevant though. He only wanted gods around because his worldview was "I'm the super special chosen of god" and he couldn't handle not being simultaneously important but also having the safety net of a higher power justifying him.

Lorgar's all-in reliance on faith is a massive personal failing. Not even because it's faith, but because it's wrapped up in his colossal ego.
>>
>>52169381
He was right though, he was the super special chosen of the gods.
>>
>>52169305
That doesn't mean you become their #1 advocate.
>>
>>52169222
cont.

b) go CAD - you don't seem to deep strike much and want transports anyway, so just take two basic Vet teams in razorbacks, a vanguard or terminator team that can actually fight so that the Captain can join them and put them in the corvus, put the dread in a drop pod and sprinkle it with a single kill team formation with a dedicated kill task

Also general advice - auspex are MANDATORY. Unlike other codexes your sergeants can take them so unless you're attaching a Lib, invest minimal points into the sergeants shooting and give him and auspex. Just 5 points but make a difference against Ravenwing and other shit like that, especially when using vengeance rounds. Quite honestly I would also drop the grav pistol and invest the points elsewhere, be it for an upgrade. Or just swap it for a combi-grav. Though I'm the one to talk, being the Dark Angels guy that puts plasma pistols on his sergeants and constantly killing them with gets hot.

>>
>>52169477

No no, this is pretty dang objective. Chaos is a destructive, spiteful force. It's positive traits exist and in enough quantity to attract followers, but are drowned out by a vast sea of negativity.

They picked Lorgar as their target for corruption because of his weaknesses, not his strengths. It isn't even subtext, he's about the only person blind to it.
>>
>>52169490
>Imperials
>it is my point of view that is objective, everyone else is wrong

>>52169381

The fact that Lorgar was a patsy who's newfound faith led only to ruin is probably why he retreated to spend ten thousand years moping, honestly.

He can't even change course anymore, because he's a daemon now. All he can do is angst about it.

When he emerges again I wouldn't be surprised if he's dived fully into final fantasy villain logic, and just wants to burn all of existence because he feels bad.

>>52169373
Not list guy but my observations

>Dread
Fine, just needs to cover squads and be annoying. Not all dreads need Pods, just sme mainline defense.

>10 Rhino Vets
I use Rhinos are quick getaways or squad assistance. DW seems good at running around or just using vehicles to adjust themselves lightly.

>Corvus
I'm thinking the same thing. Versatile gunboat that drops the squad and Captain to blow apart units and then charge in for cleanup.

>Captain and Squad
These seems well rounded and meant to hammer infantry. Could use the vehicles to assist their staying power, but seem ok on their own.

>Lib and Team
Good unit for picking apart enemies but trans needs to go somewhere else. Assign it to the Captain's team.

>Knight
Excellent.

Definitely take Auspex everywhere you can. Grav Pistol is great for 2-3+ save models and vehicle annoyance but doesnt excell at thinning hordes. Probably hit up a Plasma Pistol or Combi-Plas.

You seem to want to avoid DS, but also like armor. If you're not going to deep strike much that's fine, but keeping your options open with BSSF giving everyone DS is nice. Use it depending on the enemy.

Also you seem to avoid Terminators? Not sure why other than pointsinking and abundance of AP2 in most armies.
>>
Do I make a UM army centred around Rowboat or not? He's making it look awful easy especially combined with the shit tier of my AM.
>>
>>52169495

I'm not imperial dude, I'm a guy reading fiction.

I ain't gonna say that many people are particularly sensible in this setting, just point out that Lorgar's entire character arc pretty much revolves about how pathetic he is because of his reliance on faith and his ego.

It's pretty fedora on the part of the writers how much they made the source of both the imperial and human chaos faiths like that honestly.
>>
>>52169495

>From my point of view the Emperor is evil!
>WELL THEN YOU ARE LOST!
I'm sure this joke has been made before, I just think of it every time Imperials argue with Chaos
>>
>>52169528
Really? Cause I read his character arc as a man being lied to his whole life about a fundamental truth of reality and having the courage to seek out the truth in the face of adversity. In the face of his government, his father and what he had perceived to be the truth then having the courage to bring down the corrupt, false system around him. He chose obscene freedom over righteous bondage.

It's almost as if there's different points of view about things in 40k.

Games Workshop would NEVER make drastic changes to a game! How could anyone be sat static about that? Having tons of new copyrightable factions will never happen to 40k.

Not even a fantasy fag. AoS is fine, but 40k seems to be leaning towards the worst partz of AoS like 100 billion tiny factions with 4 models, overarching mega factions, and FUCKIN HUEG MEGA AWESOME CENTER PIECES!!!!

If it hasn't become apparent to you over the course of 6th and 7th edition that GW fully intend to have each army require multiple codexes and half a dozen supplements in order to be complete then you've been living under a rock.

that's not really a big deal to me, provided the factions have good models

sisters of silence, custodes, deathwatch, stormtrooperscions, harlequins, genestealer cults, etc, etc are quite gud

No, the idea is dumb. See how fucking gutted the Death faction in AoS is.

Objectively the chaos gods do way more evil shit and much of the evil of the Imperium is a response to the fight against chaos.

I play chaos and I miss their tragic aspect, they were never meant to be one half of an objective argument until BL bullshit.

Chaos is the wrong choice, but its a choice many people make regardless and thats half the problem.

People make knowingly bad or shot sighted choices in the pursuit of power, ease, pleasure, etc all the time.

Chaos worship is originally supposed to be tragic, in that youve been duped and everyone sees it but you.
