Pretty diverse to be honest, not sure what everyone is so butthurt about.. who cares that the "pros" choose to only play two decks?

Well, let's see. Theros is a plane based on the Greek/A bit of Roman Mythology. We can assume with some certainty that he is the equivalent of someone from the Mediterranean.

People in the Mediterranean tan really well. Hell, even if you take just greece, Turkey is right on the other side of their pond.

I can't explain the inconsistent art though. Let me try:

It's great when I get it out on time and can actually use it, works well with the energy from Glimmer but I just never draw it or draw it when it's already too late. The whole deck really banks on the fact that my opponent won't have flying or reach so my creatures can swing each combat, which was why Smuggler's Copter killed the deck. It's had some successes at FNM but it's not really T1

Disallow has really helped me since I've added them in, I've tried Dec in Stone in the main before and it was okay but not great, the sorcery speed really kills that card. Gisela would probably be a good swap for the Harvesters. Nebelghast was what I was considering because it matches the 3drop slot but there isn't a better 3-drop than Spell Queller in the format rn anyways.

Decent. Quite competitive. I usually sit mid-table. Lots of vehicles and 2 4c Saheeli decks usually clean up. I can sometimes take a win off the vehicle decks but Saheeli almost always messes me up. Otherwise there's a guy running mono-Black Vampires and a weird Jund Energy brew but other than that not much is happening.

Should I go for for a mixture of Green/Blue, or White/Blue? what cards are best to include? should I go for a "pure" token summoning deck, or a mixture of Tokens/Removal or Tokens/something else?

I just bought the Nissa vs. Ob Nixilis Duel Decks to play with someone who just started to play MtG. My Ob Nixilis Deck seems way stronger, how do I buff up the Nissa Deck a bit with a couple cheap cards.

Why wouldn't they just counter your Murder? If they got that many lands out and that wellstocked of a hand they could snuff anything you could do.

Also, their own damn fault for not putting in a Liliana or two as an alt wincon or two get the Gearhulks back.

I've been playign them both but I don't do tournaments. Just play with homies, I'm not tryhard enough to actually order cards online lol. Is this format really that fucked? Haven't played Standard in a while, but after everyone bitched about Theros/Rav I have a hard time believing people talking about Standard. I had a shitload of fun playing Theros/Rav as RW, and the advent of Siege Rhino and putting life gain on every fucking card in the format made me quit.

My mom's boyfriend of all people is interested in Magic. He's even expressed interest in going to an FNM.

I recently bought SBMTG's mono blue control deck and I'm wondering if I should look into finding a budget (but decent) deck for him to play so I can practice with him.

How would you guys go about figuring out what type of deck to recommend someone? Those online MTG "color" tests?

I'd really like to become an expert at control but going to drafts at my local LGS is still sort of daunting. I also can't afford to split my money between paper and MTGO.

God no, those are like, gay ass personality test, not anything to do with gameplay.

The best way to find that out would be through a bit of gameplay, you could play some sealed with him or maybe look at something like the Card Kingdom battle decks for a cheap way to try out a bunch of different gameplay strategies.

That's a good way to put it. There are a lot of A Tier decks right now: we just have a few SSS Tiers fucking with the competitive scene.

I could build Mardu Vehicles and 4-0 FNM but I'm having way more fun playing Grixis Control.
