How much of the meme characters are memed on basically 90% by the characters' own players wanting attention?

And why are there so many "meme characters" anyway?
>>
>>52148685
>>52148674
>>
>>52148685
I don't want to believe that anyanon is memeing their own character. I'd be embarrassed if my character became a meme, I'd be even more embarrassed if I was encouraging it.
>>
>>52148685
Meme characters, while presumably only slightly easier to make compared to homegrown, are much easier to digest. Take it from the guy who made not!Sanji in the Ruse Cruise, figuring out how to build him was just as difficult as any other character I've made, but for those who just want to browse through and see what he's all about you just need to see the name and description and you've got a bunch of preconceived notions about his character that make you "get it" instantly.
>>
>>52148685
see >>52148748
>>
>>52148744
You'd best start believing in samefagging, Mr. Anon.

Half the groundswell for any character is the player samefagging. It's the same reason the idoitic "daddy fetish-bait/slender animu fuccboi" dichotomy came to be a thing around here--anonymous posting does not prevent cliques from forming, it merely allows cliques to be invented artificially rather than growing from actual interaction.

Why do people get so desperate to join a game with 6 PCs running EVERY OTHER WEEK?

So once every 14 days (less if the game gets cancelled for the week), you get to share the spotlight with a huge clusterfuck group.

Yay.

>>

You been under a rock? People were blowing the fuck up over Casimir during RotJR's application period.

Even when /pfg/ talks about otherwise normal dudes, they call them "daddy"--Ulfric in Dragons2 was somehow designated the "team daddy" despite being barely into his 20s just because he liked to cook.

/pfg/ is full of people desperate for a strong father figure, and they want that strong father figure's cock down their throats.

So basically a "daddy" character is any male character that does not behave like a complete faggot and doesnt look like something out of final fantasy?
>>
>giving people extra abilities
>give generic talents out to martials as their BaB goes up
>one is "Aimed Spit"
>ranged touch attack to blind by spitting in their eye
>players use it for long range spitting into things
>gave it a 5ft range increment because that seems appropriate
>player asked if it was possible to enchant one's mouth with distance
>gets distance denchers
>asks if he can enchant the denchers for other stuff
>gets flaming burst distance +3 denchers
>little dubious, but might be funny
>spit does 1+3+1d6 damage at 50ft range
>players begins using it to spit at commoners

I should have just made it impossible to do damage with it. Letting weapons enhance it was a bad idea.

My husband the king was threatening to overthrow the national religion and impose his own so he could divorce me because i couldn't bear him a son.

But now, after paying homage to Amalthea, i have four sons and the country isn't in a civil war!
>>
>>52149490
No because there are plenty of characters who fit into that and aren't "daddies". In Hell's Vengeance Falafel and Dr. Nefarious didn't act like faggots, weren't out of FF, and certainly weren't daddies.
>>
>>52149490
And even then, you can apparently still earn the title if you cook or sew.

These "people" want a combination dildo and maid.
>>
>>52149512
>Dr. Nefarious
Was a shitpost.
>>
>>52149419
If Akashic got a rerelease with complaints addressed I could see it becoming good. Though it is a complex subsystem to get the hang of.
>>
>>52148602
We have a wolfhound puppy. He rides in the NE necromancer cleric's backpack.

Also, stupid question: how does one make a mute wizard/magus who isn't horribly gimped? The character I've got planned would either be unable to cast 95% of spells, or be forced to use spells as if they were one level higher.
>>
>>52149538
Yes, Shitpost != Daddy
>>
>>52149490
I'd say the characters people "daddy" over do tend to have elements traditionally associated with fatherhood.

Nobody was daddyposting about shitty meme dog but the other recently closed games got some daddyposts and the men were respectively a widower in a party of girls with father issues and a summoner butler whose eidolon is his young child.
>>
>>52149519
Yeah, that's basically a daddy fetish in a nutshell, but you're missing the element of the "daddy" being a financial and emotional enabler as well.

Like slave and pet play fetishes, the idea is that you sexualize and formalize a desire to have no responsibility in your life. If anybody calls you on it, you retreat to the defense of "no kinkshame plz".
>>
Lets talk mechanics for a sec.
>Paizo rebalances summoner via unchained and encourages players to use it instead of the vanilla summoner

>tfw your gf has a daddy fetish
>feelsbadman.jpg
>>
>>52149611
I'm pretty sure Paizo doesn't offer *any* unchained classes support in their splats. UC monk getting Scaled Fist is the only one I've ever seen.
>>
>>52149611
I'm bothered by how the Vigilante is already better supported than any of the hybrid classes. I'm not sure Paizo has given Slayer a single talent since their release as an immediate example, but none of them feel like they've gotten much at all.
>>
>>52149621
That's an easy fix anon, just become a daddy. No excuse not too, even girls are doing it these days.
>>
>>52148855

I wanna see Amalthea and Lamastu confront each other and Have a massive cat fight that devolves into them making love and somehow getting each other pregnant.

>>
>>52150689

Wrong, he's banning it's use during a certain time frame which, frankly, is impossible to enforce at all, and if the tea was shown to have deleterious side effects (which it probably doesn't, but let's just say it is for the sake of the principal), then he is well within his right to censor how it is proscribed

Although, around 20 weeks in, it's probably time to stop climbing walls and wearing rigid armor. Wouldn't wanna be hit in the abdomen either or you'll be lucky if all that causes is a little bundle of retard.

>>
>>52151655
different gender is -2 to your disguise check and it's secretly rolled once per disguise - as the srd states, "you don't know how good it is".

detecting a trap is literally perception check. If you can't at least put some fucking effort in your disguise, someone's going to notice the bulge, or the adam's apple, or the bone structure...

It's easier before puberty, but once you lose the "young" template? MOST playable races have significant sexual dimorphism.

"traps" are traps because being convincing is anything but fucking common.
>>
>>52151655
my way of dealing with it is never accepting any 'traps' into my games

>>
>>52151681

Taking a 20 on your disguise would make it good enough that most non PC types would be fooled, presumably you're not taking too many penalties if your character is androgynous to begin with.
>>
>>52151714
that would take 6 hours and 40 minutes.
>>
>>52151714
I dont think you can take 20, because you don't know how good it is. You wouldn't know when you've 'won'. It's not something with an easy indicator like lockpicking.

you could actually never take 20, because disguise always has penalties for failure, IE, people noticing that you're in a disguise.

>>

Keep in mind that the group takes a perception check against your disguise every fucking hour.

>>
>>52151819
Yes, the +20 makes it so that its virtually impossible for a random NPC to expose them.
>>
>>52151655

I think your best bet would just be to not make checks. Mechanically if your PC looks and dresses like a girl, the only thing that would foil that besides a hand to the junk, would be certain divination spells.
>>
>>52151843
except to appear as a different gender, you have to make a disguise check

Traps B T F O
>>
>>52151843
Except that disguise check is precisely the mechanical attempt to dress and look the part.

Look; sometimes, even admiral Ackbar is surprised.

Other times you've got Priscilla Queen of the Desert, and you know it.

The worst though is when someone looks like a big black man in drag, and yet INSISTS that everyone pretend that they can't tell. And that's just not right.
>>
>>52151901

I think the disguise check is for when you're crafting a purposeful disguise, similar how diplomacy follows a persuasive attempt. You don't roll diplomacy every time you ask someone to do something.

I don't really see why it would be necessary to try to shit on trap players, I mean if they're in your game to begin with. If it's a problem, why even let them get that far?

>>
>>52151970
there's a -2 on disguise checks to look like another race
>>
>>52151982

So does it get +100 for looking exactly like a wolf?
>>
>>52151775
-4 Dex, -10 to movement speed, fort saves vs. sickened every day, 50+ points of bludgeoning required a save vs. miscarriage, and drinking extracts or mutagens had a chance of causing "problems," as she put it.

Not a great time.
>>
>>52151995
If it looks like a wolf its probably a wolf

You could maybe justify a +5 to the check for only 'minor details', but you'd still take the -2
>>
>>52151996

well that's not fun at all.

If anything being pregnant as an adventurer should be a barrel of embarrassing laughs.

Like will saves to avoid strange food cravings, Stealth checks to avoid your annoying mother who keeps giving you "advice", and having to shop for pants, or forgoing pants entirely.
>>
>>52152003

no, it's a dog, that looks exactly like a wolf.

The point is that the disguise rules are clearly made for someone who does NOT look like what they're trying to disguise to.

They made them for the idea of subterfuge and the like, not every day things like, padding a bra.

The mechanical failures of disguise are pretty clear seeing as they throw Vigilante +20 just for existing, effectively saying "Don't bother rolling" because they know the rules basically don't work for every day applications. If you're GM'ing a game with a trap and hate traps, why not talk to the player instead of going retarded round about ways to dredge out the worst qualities of pathfinder?

I actually have a good RP opportunity to do so right now, as I'm currently limping back to town at -13 HP (diehard) while carrying my unconscious buddy after we just barely defeated an evil wizard. However, that would make me a Barbarian 1/Oracle 1.

I'm willing to play the role, but this is a tough campaign and I don't want to end up dead after wasting a levelup for something so far down the line.

>>52153018
There's that one belt, but it's a belt slot item, so...
I think there's also some obscure combination of ioun stones and feats? I don't remember it.
Dipping does seem extreme, but the other options aren't much better.
>>
>>52152976
Isn't it ironic that CHA is a dump stat for Barbarians, but then you're heavily inclined to dip one level of a CHA-based caster later on down the line?
>>
>>52150627
Barzillai Thrune just wants a quiet life.
>>
>>52153043
I know one part of it is a Flawed Green Cabochon Ioun Stone.

The Nightwalker Template (Subject to tinkering)

>For every point of HP magically healed, gain 1 Corruption.
>When you gain Corruption and it meets or exceeds your Maximum HP, you must make a Will save, DC {10+Corruption-Max HP}. On a failure, you become incapacitated with madness until after an overnight rest is completed. On success, you have the option to initiate a rage as though you were an equivalent level barbarian. When the rage ends, you will be incapacitated with madness for a short period.
>Resting for an hour at night is the equivalent of resting the whole night normally. Resting the whole night restores all HP. Resting all day removes all Corruption.

>If you become overwhelmed from a forceful transfer of corruption, a poison held in all bodily fluids much like a disease, Nightwalkers have a chance of absorbing the essence of the source, their bodies transforming into aspects of the other's body. These transformations only manifest at night, melting back into the body under the light of the sun.

What do you guys make of this, mechanically? Table the kink discussion if you can.

Flawed Green Cabochon Ioun Stone, Internal Fortitude, and I'm pretty sure there's a feat to make you exhausted whenever you would be fatigued.

Lads, let's say I want to make an Elf that Elves wish they could be - like, the type of warrior-king that would be better fit for Middle-Earth than Golarion.

What weapon should I aim for with this character? Path of War is allowed, so I'm oscillating between a one-handed sword (Einhander style), an Elven Curved Blade or maybe a longspear.
>>
Wait a sec, so if you have two primary natural attacks, you get to apply your full STR to both, right?
If you only attack with one, do you get to apply 1.5x STR or must you only have one available?
>>
>>52153243
all elves should strive to not be elves
play a human
>>
>>52153247

You must only have one available, such as a single bite or gore, but no claws.
>>
>>52153243
All of the above. Elven Curve Blade, Elven Branch Spear, Longbow. If it's covered by your Weapon Familiarity you should know how to use it well.
>>
>>52152953
shockwaves travel though. While her own structural integrity will take the hit (but not without a fort save; that means it IS something that can potentially kill her on the spot), you're forgetting how well this travels through liquids.

Babby's best bet is that it's got good genes and can survive 5 points of damage if mommy gets immediate clerical attention, whereas the average non-adventuring-parents newborn with their shittier array gets pulped

>How tough is babby formed?

Just ask wizard to magic u a babby
>>
>>52153339
If Urotsukidoji has taught me anything, it's that babby can be formed at JRPG-end-boss levels of toughness.

Don't hide it from me, /pfg/.

Tell me about the time they threw your character a parade.

wait a fucking minute supersition doesn't stack with the will save from being in a rage

what the fuck they're both morale bonuses

huh? is superstition just for fort/ref? why do people take this crap, then? so they can qualify for eater of magic?

If shmups taught me anything, it's that feti are supercluster-scale abominations whose abortions demand planet-rending levels of dimensional firepower.
>>
>>52153462
oh, shit, of course

so it's essentially a tax until it scales up enough
>>
>>52153165
It definitely makes temporary HP and non-magical fast healing way more significant.

The save DC is too high to try to use intentionally which would be my other way to try and play with it mechanically.
>>
>>52153561
>>52153561
Are there any sources of non-magical fast healing even near level 3?
>>
>>52150148
Still lurking. Once every 2 or 3 days I like to sleep
>>
>>52153582
There might be some in Path of War, or non-magical healing depending on how you define the 'non-magical' part. There's also a few sources of it from racial stuff that's usually total garbage and is... probably still total garbage, but slightly less than normal.
>>
>>52153582
I think Troll Stypic?

Well, the DM is currently wavering on whether PoW is allowed. Probably because it's "oh great, another system I have to learn inside of Pathfinder"
