Many miles in the distance, a faint rumbling noise could be heard from beyond the fogline. It started low, as well as slow, but began to pick up in intensity as its source closed into view, a band of manky warriors clad in furs and armed in club emitting what could only be described as a loud "Uuuuuuuuuh", drowing out all other sounds and noise. They paused only to clobber whatever was unfortunate enough to not clear the way from their path of destruction, be it man, tree, or rock, a few pausing their warcry to place whatever they proceded to crush into their maws.

So two isn't doing quite as bad, and 5 is actually doing pretty well numbers-wise, even though it doesn't have any heroes yet. Even with these, though, 7 looks like it's got this in the bag
>>52149561
in spite of having the handicap of Philip II of Spain among our numbers, I'd say Army 9 isn't too bad so far either, although we do need some heroes
>>52147485
Hey, if we're going to be adding tanks to this mix...
We want in!
>>52149509
>>52149561
For those of you keeping track at home, total contributions to each army thus far is:
0(free agents/mercs, I guess?)=9
1=11
2=6
3=3
4=7
5=10 (counting the tank posted after the big list)
6=6
7=9
8=8
9=7
So 1 actually has the numbers advantage, with 2 more than 7's army (counting the robots posted after the big list) in exchange for one less hero
>>52149655
of course we should also probably count the quality of each unit being added to each army, I imagine a unit of cybernetically augmented dinosaurs and dinosaur men probably is the equivalent to several units of less fantastical origins combined
>>52149780
Team 5 is packing lots of fully-automatic heat as well as multiple tanks along with Team 8's welish war sheep. Teams 1 and 5 have tanks of various capabilities (Bob Semple and T-72 for Team 5, multiple Tiger 2s for Team 1) while team 0 has werewolf paratroopers to offer to whoever they feel like aiding. Team 9 has cyborg dinosaurs with heavy artillery attached. Tarkus on Team 3 is a pretty tough cyborg as well.
Teams 4 and 7 have robots (technically animated armor for 4, but mechanically it comes out the same), but neither seem to be armed beyond clobbering things with their steel fists.
Team 0's mercs has a respectible amount of air power to offer, while Team 1 has some flyers as well.
Fear is not the best motivator, but it is a universal one. Even the most craven conscript will fight like a lion when the alternative is sufficiently unpleasant.

Vive la France!
>>52149997
Roll for it maybe? We can't exactly have bidding wars to see who can pay the most for their services. Perhaps representatives of each team could roll to determine wealth and then they could try to outbid each other for the mercs they wanted.

>>52150026
maybe to make it fair, 0s are distributed based on whoever has the least contributions? So at the time of >>52149655 the lowest were three, two, and six, and we had 9 zeros to disperse. Three would get 4, and two and six would each get 1, that way everybody has at least 7 contributions. At this point we would have 3 zeroes left and a 5-way tie for lowest (two, three, four, six, and nine each having 7). Then maybe the leftovers would be auctioned off? Or maybe they become the bosses: whichever team wins the 9-way war fights a team of nothing but heroes

Oh wait, I see now. Listed by end digits.
Get there first with the most- the essence of victory. To that end, everything that moves is pressed into service by increasingly desperate armies, from mighty trains to ox-carts.
"Hakkaa päälle!" scream the Caroleans as they begin to march in formation to the tune of drums, their blue coats and yellow trousers a marked contrast to the battlefield. Today, they would fight, and if need be, die to ensure the safety of their distant descendants, admanant in their resolve to beat back these foreign hordes.
If somebody saves all this, changes some names, and publishes it, this could be the best setting of all time.
Squad 7, reporting for duty!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD-kuRFsbO0
A force of identical metal beings found itself blundering through the field in a somewhat confused manner, conversing amongst themselves in a high-pitched, squeaky form of speech. "Hey, there up ahead! A whole lot of armies are gathering up... Wait. this doesn't match intell. Are you sure we landed on Bestine?" spoke on among their other, directing its words to a unit orange markings, which in turn responded with a more monotone drawl. "Negatory. It appears an error in communication has caused our unit to be deposited upon an unknown planet."
The first unit drew out its arms to express its concern in lieu of its unmoving face. "Unknown planet? What are we supposed to do then!?"
The orange-painted commander paused a moment to think. "Calculating... Suggested course of action: barter with locals for further information in return for military aid in their imminent conflict."
Readying its blaster, the tan unit saluted and notified the other units to do the same. "Roger Roger!"

Now argue about who would win.
>>52151111
Its a battle between team 1,team 5,and team 8
>>52151111
Forgot the rogers for #6:
>>52150306
>>52151143
Team 3 controls the skies with their airship and its fighter escorts+flying hero /and/ has the Angry Marines on their side in spite of their low army count. Also, don't discount Team 2's band of heroes.
>>52151143
I wouldn't count Army 7 out. Between the Changer of Ways and the Elder Thing, they're probably the most magically powerful force on the field.
Or rather, I wouldn't count the Changer of Ways and Elder Thing out, the rest of Army 7 is pretty much doomed to be turned into either Chaos Spawn or Shoggoths.
>>52151196
Something skipped was that team 7 also has an Archmage hero: >>52150877
So they're the most magical faction indeed.
Now army nine may look like they don't have much, but they do have tream 7. Those fuckers survived a nuke. I think they're worth quite a bit personally.
We ever figure out what to do with the zeroes?
>>52151220
Army 7 is going to be very dependant on how the internal dynamics of its magical section plays out. If a goddamn Tzeentchian daemon, an eldritch antediluvian scientist, and a cabal of wizards can somehow stay aligned behind whatever the overarching faction goals are, I don't think any of the other forces will be able to match the endless stream of bullshit they'll be able to pull out. Otherwise, being disintegrated in a rainbow-colored fireball is one of the best outcomes they can hope for.
Really, it comes down to how much internal unity we're assuming.
One thing everyone is not taking into account is that team 5 has nap
He also has guns and dinosaur calvary
The man was so inspiring that the majority of his army was volunteers
Its gonna be one hell of a battle, but its a intresting battle
I would love to see napoleon trying to recruit a angry marine and eldritch god being into his army
>>52151194
Army 3's best hope would be to shoot down everyone elses' air forces with their jets and retreat to an altitude beyond firing range stuffing as many angry marines into the airship as possible as well as heroes, sacrificing their other ground forces (which while fairly high quality including the tanks and giant, will not stand up to army #1's superior armour and numbers) to the orgy of violence below, waiting for all the other armies to whittle each other down, and then bombing/strafing what remains and dropping down the marines to clean up what remains.
>>52151194
The ground section is also very armor-heavy. Bottom line, they'll be good at dishing out the pain but probably not as good at actually holding territory or dealing with guerilla tactics due to the lack of infantry.
>>52151265
Huh, you're right. Aside from the Angry Marines themselves, they're entirely composed of cavalry, armor, aerial units, and heroes. Cohesion-wise, I can see Settra and the mummaks which will probably default into his control getting either team-killed or left on their own depending on whether or not the Angry Marines manage to commandeer the air cruiser's bomb bay if Vald can't find a way to control them. Otherwise, due to the relatively small force size and connections among key units (the 5th Armored and fighters in particular coming from the same military) and the important forces possessing some form of vox or radio communications to converse over long distance, they should be able to keep far more coordinated than the less advanced forces predominantly composed of line infantry, the fighters+tanks capable of conducting blizkrieg maneuvers once the skies are secured.
Better hope none of the important units get destroyed though: if the AMs fall they're fucked as then they have no way to realistically occupy territory, if the airship falls they're fucked as that's the majority of their ability to endure as a faction by keeping out of reach, and if the fighters fall they're likewise boned as the fighters are what protect the airship from those unicorns and dragons.
Onward, 8 and 0 (if we're counting 0 as its own force) lack any heroes of their own, the closest thing 8 having is Napoleon (not 5) on his bike while 0 doesn't appear to have any dedicated command structure at all, leaving them a bunch of incoherent rabble.

>1 : The Ruso-Spanish Alliance
>Strength : Numbers
>General : ???
1 Certainly has the advantage in numbers(a company of Strelelets, Rodeleros, Ardati, Russian Heavy Robots, small numbers of undead knights and imps and even Mariachis to keep up the morale) but seems to be lacking in capable commanders. They field strong but small numbers of artilllery and plenty of heavy melee infantry. I think they are very susceptible to conventional light cavalry.
Their trump card seems to be a kaiju parasite. Ironically it would be devastating against 1's army but can probably be outmaneuvered and killed from afar.
>2 : The Army of Undying Rome
>Strength : Versatile Companies
>General : Necro Nero
It's incredibly varied on the Infantry front but has no cavalry or artillery. Could work on guerrilla warfare but on open confrontation any army with ranged options can outrange and destroy them before they have a chance to attack. Stronger on heroes, I imagine it's much less cohesive as an army but better working as small units under their own authority. Heroic white mages could possibly extend their durability enough to eliminate ranged units, but Cavalry is still a huge problem.
Their Trump Card seems to be some sort of undead Roman Emperor. If he manages to use his unique charisma to make the druids yuanti and raiders supplement effectively the more traditional troops... Again, great in guerrilla but would probably lose on all other fronts.
will continue tomorrow, goodnigh t very body
>>52151404
I still think you should play it safe with the fighters and keep them focused on claiming the skies. On ground level there's Army 1's hero-class Tiger 2s that will rape just about everything sans the space marines and probably be able to shoot down an older P-series aircraft due to their hero designation, making it imperative that they be engaged by the more modern craft to ensure a kill without losses or bomb/shell them from afar with the cruiser, as every fighter downed markedly decreases Army 3's performance.
Threats assessment of opposing air units:
>>52150091 - Medium: don't know too much about this angel dude, but I suspect he's magical. Better to slam a missile at him from beyond visual range just to be safe.
>>52148871 - Low: they either have negligible accuracy trying to fire their rifles in the air against dedicated fighters, or they'll be shooting streams of energy pellets that while covering a large area, shouldn't do significant damage to the airframes of their targets before they're shot down. P-series can feel free to engage them, but if the squadron by any chance feels bad about shooting a bunch of girls that resemble the minute Fairy twins, they can just wait for them to fall to OPFOR.
>>52143111 - High: You do NOT want the cruiser to aggro this fucker: focus on downing the dragon above all else. Will take coordinated efforts between the fighter squad and the airship with the Minute Fairies and Vald on board the latter for maximum plot armor. Engage with the most high-tech of the squadron for best performance, but if things are looking pear-shaped for the airship, kamikaze that F-106 into that scaly bastard at mach speed to ensure its destruction. Better to lose one fighter than to lose what is effectively your base.
>>52142740 - Low. They're flying horses without riders. Throw the P-fighters at them.
>>52151102
>>52151111
General overview:
0:
mostly low-tech infantry, medieval with a few pre machine-gun gunpowder units, and a few outliers in the form of the magical specter-things, the airwolves, and that dwarven giant. They'll probably be able to give anyone expecting a cakewalk a nasty surprise, but a few elite units won't make up for the weakness of the rest of their army.
1:
Ground forces are all over the place, but generally higher than 0 with more modern units and the Tsar tanks. Their Hero tank unit and goddamn Kaiju will be able to smash any ground unit in the open field, but they might have trouble with guerilla strategies that deny them a concentrated foe to smash. They've got enough weight of infantry to deal with that as well, though; their only major weakness is their near-total lack of air power.
2:
A ground-based, melee-focused infantry army, with a couple of outliers. Specifically, a kaiju-level goliath, a healer hero unit, a healer infantry unit, and a hero Ork Warboss. I expect the tactical dynamic to be broadly similar to 1, with the greater number of hero units counterbalanced by the average lower tech-level of their infantry. A natural rival to 1, perhaps? The narrative practically demands the two trips giants duke it out.
3:
Small but very armor-heavy ground force and a super-heavy infantry force in the form of the Angry Marines accompanied by a powerful air force, counterbalanced by lack of hero units and a lack of infantry to hold territory with. I'd expect them to survive for quite a while thanks to their individually powerful units and air power, but have problems going on the offensive.
4:
Almost pure infantry, with a couple of armor units, a couple of hero infantry units, and a wizard unit. Nothing exciting, and a lack of trips kaiju puts them at a strong disadvantage against 1 and 2. Probably will put up a valiant fight but end up gutted, unless their wizards can pull off a miracle.
(cont.)
>>52151615
5:
As usual, infantry-heavy, melee-heavy, but no less than three tank units- even if one of them is the Bob Semple. Plus, they have AKU, THE SHAPESHIFTING MASTER OF DARKNESS; even if we don't credit his dubious claims to heroic status, his magic opens up options. Plus, Pillar Men, demons, and the undead gives them staying power, even if their only real 'hero' unit is Beavis and Butthead. Clever tactics with Aku and their special infantry should allow them to last for a while, but the rest of the force will likely wind up hideously savaged in short order.
6:
Once more, infantry-heavy, melee-heavy. Only three units I'd consider of worth: the hero melee unit, the Imperial gnomes, and Slav Satan. Slav Satan alone would allow them to win nearly any open field battle. However, Slav Satan cannot be everywhere, so as usual with factions depending on a single unit to carry them, they are vulnerable to guerilla or hit-and-run tactics that the rest of the force cannot cope with. Eventually, Slav Satan will find himself alone and surrounded, and then he will die.
7:
As usual, mostly melee infantry, but stiffened by a unit of super-heavy artillery and no less than 5 hero units: a pair of heroic melee units, the irregular riflemen of the wormhandlers, and two heroic mage units! Combined with the 'regular' mage unit, a decent number of more advanced forces, and a clan of ninjas for assassination and sabotage, Army 7 has the potential to be a powerful force.
Unfortunately, one of the heroic mage units is a Tzeentchian daemon, so they'll probably wind up as Chaos Spawn.
8:
As usual, infantry-heavy and melee-heavy, with a sprinkling of more powerful forces. The inclusion of a Lich among their ranks means they'll probably have much more staying power than usual, with friendly and enemy dead alike rising to bolster their ranks. However, the total lack of hero units means they're basically an NPC faction, so their chances of ultimate victory are nil.
(cont.)
>>52151624
9:
The usual melee infantry, with a single hero unit and smattering of other units, but one of them is a doozy. On top of I, CATO SICARIUS, there's also the Dinosaur Empire, which looks to be a super-heavy cavalry... armor... infantry... thing? Whatever, high-tech cyborg dinosaurs can hardly fail to wreck face. Ultimately, though, a single pair of heavy hitters probably won't be able to match some of the other forces in the field.
Conclusions: later, I should have been in bed long since.
Someone call for an Ultimate Showdown?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WgT9gy4zQA
Also, we need to decide what the battleground is. Just a big, open field flanked by fields and a few boulders/trees?
>>52151578
Anon- that's no dragon: that's a category IV kaiju, and IIRC capable of spitting acid that can take melt through RHA steel composite effortlessly and would shred the airship like paper mache. My recommended course of action would be to avoid entirely and hope that one of the other heavy-hitters attracts its attention and hopefully weakens if not destroys it, and if you can't, engage it in strafes with long-ranged weapons from the supersonics: going low and slow is suicidal.
>>52151615
On the contrary, aside from the unicorns of Army #0, army #1 is the only other faction that has an airforce at all, and the kaiju is at least as destructive as #3's combined airforce.
Also, for Army #6, those B1 battledroids are worth more than they usually are since most of their enemies are primitive line infantry where their tactics and weapons would be particularly effective, including their massed blasters: funny enough, B1 battle droids are adequately capable bare-knuckle brawlers by virtue of the fact they're made of solid metal and were capable of taking down armed Gungan fighters when they closed the distance.

I'm thinking something like a interdimensional 30 years' war. A primitive planet winds up as a battlezone between several different empires. Each army has to supplement their forces with local allies and mercenaries due to the difficulties of interdimensional logistics.
The question is what they're all fighting for. Is it just dominance of the planet, or does each faction have its own unique goals?
>>52158010
This vaguely makes me think of the fluff for Heroscape if you ever played that as a kid. There were half a dozen generals who fought over magical wellsprings that they somehow used to summon warriors from across time and space. It's how they explained colonial minutemen vs Roman legion vs robots vs snake men.
Some kind of summoning is the only way all this would make sense.
>>52158010
I like to think one of Team 7's goals is to put Zog on the throne of the world. I mean, King Zog I is basically Team 7's general, nobody else seems to take a major leadership role.
>>52159373
Given the preponderance of magical force, I've been thinking of them as the Thaumaturgical Union, with the hero Wizard cabal in charge. I barely even noticed King Zog was there. Objective... well, they have an Elder Thing with them. Perhaps they have a lead on Thing relics within the warzone?
>>52159683
Well I said one of. I guess King/President Zog let them use Albania as a base of operations because why not?
There is also a question regarding Charles II.
Should he be ceded to the Ruso-Spanish Alliance since he's the closest thing available to a """"""""""""""leader""""""""""""?
Kind of awkward if the only Iberian king in-play is on a side that isn't the Ruso-Spanish alliance. Then again, he is kinda retarded since he's the product of 200 years of constant inbreeding. The guy's mother was technically his sister.
>>52161010

Remember, anons. Incest is NOT wincest.
My first pass at faction identities, names, leadership:
0:
>The locals
Local minor kingdoms who see their world about to become a plaything of greater powers and want no part of it. They have joined forces to present a united front against off-world aggression, and have pooled their treasuries to buy a few units of offworld mercenaries.
Leadership: None, a lot of the different kingdoms were barely even aware of each other before offworld traders introduced radio. A single unified chain of command is just asking too much.
Goal: Be something more than just the battlefield.
(borrowing from >>52151511 here)
1:
>The Russo-Spanish Alliance
A major off-world power and minor allies/puppets in alliance/puppetmastery with a major local power and its minor allies/puppets. Oh, and some assorted mercenaries.
Leadership: Princess Kushana and Colonel Ivan of the heroic 11th Panzer Battalion.
Objective: You don't go through all the trouble of squeezing a Kaiju through a portal for anything less than WORLD DOMINATION!
2:
>Undying Rome
A major local kingdom, which has managed to obtain some advanced equipment but otherwise lacks off-world patrons. It has powerful heroes, armies from every corner of the continent, and potent healing magic, but will that be enough against tanks and aircraft?
Leadership: Necro Nero, the Undying Emperor. Combines centuries of military and political experience with the incredible strength and speed of an old, well-fed vampire.
Objective: Don't get trampled by the other warring powers... and if the opportunity arises, get in some conquering of their own.
-
>>52162821
3:
>Techno-Transylvania
A small but high-tech kingdom. Where Prussia has been described as 'an army with a country,' Techno-Transylvania might similarly be described as 'an air force with a country'.
Leadership: King Vlad the Rad, ruling from his airship-palace; wildly popular among his people, an intelligent and capable leader, and an utter horror with his sword, named 'the Impaler'.
Objective: Techno-Transylvania is quite powerful... for its size. But if it is ever to become a true Great Power, it must expand, and what better place to do that than a newly-discovered, backwards world? Admittedly, they weren't expecting so many other people to have the same idea...
4:
I have no ideas.
5:
>The Army of Darkness
An eclectic collection of barbarians, mercenaries, patriots, cavemen, Canadians, and stranger things still collected by the will of Aku, the Shapeshifting Master of Darkness. Goals, motivation, and ideology is unclear and varies from one regiment to the next, but somehow the Master of Darkness keeps his Army together.
Leadership: AKU! He has named Beavis and Butthead his lieutenants, because it amuses him.
Objective: Chaos and destruction
6:
Can't really think of anything. Something something Slav Satan?
7:
>King Zog's Comeback Tour
When King Zog of Albania was deposed in a coup, he ultimately fled off-world with the loyal remnants of his army, and there searched for allies which might help him regain his throne. He was surprised by how much support he gathered- displaced minorities looking for a homeland, mercenaries, and most vitally- a cabal of powerful wizards, pursuing goals of their own. It is not a seamless alliance, but for the moment they're all lined up behind him.
Leadership: King Zog I, The First Circle of the Red Wizards
Objectives: Return King Zog to his throne, ???
>>52162843
8:
>The Locals, Redux
An alliance of minor kingdoms that for whatever reason didn't want to join the first alliance of minor kingdoms, for reasons ranging from ancient grudges to sheer contrariness.
Leadership: ably provided by the Philadelphia Minutemen and Napoleon Dynamite. They're in a better position than the first alliance.
Objective: Be something other than the battlefield.
9:
>The Austro-Hungry Empire
Once a proud nation, suffering under an incompetent king, Austria-Hungary has fallen under the sway of the Dinosaur Empire, in one of their few forays into the political world of mammals. With war looming, the Hungry Empire prepares its puppet for conquest.
Leadership: """"Charles II"""", [unintelligible screeching]
Objective: Today, Austria-Hungary.... tomorrow, THE WORLD!
>>52154299

>>52165886
Interscape: a duel between forces from time and space?

>>52167119
Fair enough. I honestly wasn't expecting an answer, I just didn't want anyone to forget they were there because I love that comic.
>>52162843
What do you think are Settra and the mummaks up to being part of Techno-Transylvania? Maybe Set was deposited here after the endtimes and decided to join up with the Angry Marines after mutual hatred of wanting to see King Zog's chaos aspects taken out; Vlad doesn't really know what's up with Zog's forces other than they have magic on hand.
Evidently, the AMs follow him due to figuring he must be the planetary governor if he's the one carrying a functional airforce versus the mostly feudal rabble.

4:
>Neo-Frontier Zeon
The core of this faction is composed of a legion of fanatical nationalists who claim their origins from another world, in which they were once a mighty intergalactic empire. Though their modern incarnation hardly shows any signs of this being the truth, Neo-Frontier Zeon has managed to recruit a diverse array of native forces and monsters with offers of wealth, supremacy, or the simply pleasure of war. Their elite forces use what little technology they could maintain from the spacecraft they landed on, including fully automatic weapons and powered armor known as mobile gear, supplemented by conventional armour looted from Techno-Transylvanian warehouses. Unlike their rival, they lack the means to produce large scale amounts of new technology; merely maintain what they already have active.
Leadership: Bazhl Ancrae, a mysterious warrior clad from head to toe in a suit of concealing armour which he is never seen without, said to be an ace tank commander. The mercenary component of Neo-Frontier's military often finds itself under the order of General Chelovek-Volk, a beast augmented with Frontier technology in order to possess heightened intelligence.
Objective: Neo-Frontier Zeon wants to launch itself back into space in order to once again claim galactic supremacy. They see the war as an excuse to loot magical and technological equipment as a means towards that goal.
>>52162843
>>52169317
6:
>The Howlan Confederacy
The military of the Wolf/Fox Tengu State of Howlan, which has hired mercenaries from diverse states such as the Kingdom of Joseon and Imperial Gngermagn Empire as well as made a pact with the devil in order to summon Slav Satan and his team of Edgelords in a desperate bid to gain some form of equivalency to the overwhelming might of the Russo-Spanish Alliance. This in turn has attracted the attention of Christ himself, who along with his followers deign to observe this questionable act, though they have yet to be openly hostile.
Leadership: "General" Moji-San has gained her current position among her peers by virtue of the fact that she managed to steal a machine gun from one of the more advanced armies and is the leader of Howlan's forces, but she largely functions as a mouth piece for her nation's civilian government, often being ignored by Slav Satan who at best considers her orders friendly advice and treats her like a pet. The winged Hussars and Portuguese follow only the word of the Christ himself, acting as a peacekeeper force whose job is largely to keep an eye on Slav Satan. Oddly, a band of battle droids led by OOM-98 have decided to join in defending Howlan from their own volition, much to the general's grace.
Objective: Survive, figure out some way to outsmart Slav Satan
