Hows this? This is my first ever real game. Got all of these obviously plus 2 company masters (one from the Dark Vengence set the other bought for me a while back) as well as Belial.

I havent built the second tactical sqad, the deathwing knights or the ravenwing knights yet so can change weapons, or make the deathwing into terminators/command squad and the ravenwing knights into a ravenwing command squad. Need 1500 points obvously.

Okay, thought I would help clear this up, since I've been doing conversion for almost ten years now, I've gotten good at spotting many different parts from many different armies, and my opinion is that this is certainly a kitbash, I'll point out where all the parts came from, as illustrated by pic related.

1. the head, pretty simple, this comes from one of the skitarii kits, but most people probably realized this themselves
2. the wrist mounted device, actually one of the chest vents from the riptide kit, it's hard to tell from the finished model, but if you look at the actual riptide sprue you will see the resemblance immediately
3. the gun is pretty simple once oyu know what you are looking at, it is simply a combination of a space marine shotgun and the shoulder mounted cannon of a Warlord Titan
4. I admit the "extended" torso section and me pretty stumped for a while, until I realized that it was just the side panelling of an old Ford station wagon held on with duct tape. Again pretty obvious once you know what you're looking at.

Anyway I hope this has helped clear things up. No there are no "super marines" on the way. This si simply a clever kitbash made from a variety of components from different factions.

Possibly because part of the lore for the Taurox is that it's able to use gravity or magnetism to cling to surfaces. The Scion codex mentions them being used in such a way on the outside of a space station.

The strategion command squad is way better of with a librarian leading it, Stubborn/adamantium will is just plain better than 6+ fnp.

consider giving the storm shield to one of your shotgunners so they die first rather than your expensive Blackshield with his expensive powerfist, or alternatively you sergeant as he might be single out in achallenge so the 3++ could help him.

Grav pistol is just a sad weapons, regular BP with specialist ammo has a way better cost/power ratio

Aquila team I must remind you the stalker bolter is heavy, so disembarking makes you snap-fire.
Also the relic shield has great synergy with static stalker bolter units.

At least that's my experience.

Necrons just below that, alongside some janky Daemon lists and WarConvo Admech builds.

How badly does this fuck over vehicles? It just feels so meh hitting a tank directly with a piece of heavy artillery and somehow it just magically bonks off the hull if you don't get your single pen roll. That shit should be devastating. If I hit a Sentinel dead-on with a Basilisk, it should be a smear on the ground, not just deal a single pen.

The Librarian leading the command is a good idea, but the Aquila team is meant to lay down fire while their Razorback simply takes down any armor and such. They can move in a heartbeat if need be and the Lib was there to fulfill the requirements and also feed their strength. The option for the rerolls seems so good with that squad; especially since I plan to move them very little.

The point is that you can afford to have him not be Swooping so you can move forward 12" a turn and actually be able to charge, since 2+ jink means being able to force non-skyfire snap shots isn't as necessary.

Yeah, so flying is generally good for shooting platforms.

But having that on a Demon Prince of Nurgle essentially wastes his cover save considering fmcs don't generally get cover saves for the Shrouding to benefit, combined with the fact that it has a 5++ demon save.

Here's what you've done wrong:
CCS - what use is the melta when it can't be in range? You've got a medic so use plasma. Drop the melta bombs aswell as you're not in a chimera. Drop the banner for another plasma and the las/chain to plasma too as you won't need extra LD because of the priests.

Engiseer - drop

PCS - this is ok, but flamers would work better than GL

Infantry squads - you need your command units to have vox casters too if you want to use vox, either take vox in the PCS/CCS or drop them for flamers. Dont use the melta.

Special weapons - you can only have 3 special weapon carriers in this unit not lasguns.

Scions - run with hotshots or melta - not templates. You need to make as much firepower with BS4 possible.

Valk - maybe change to a barebones vendetta and transport the 3 flamers from the Special weapon squad for raining fire

Armoured Sentinels - Drop the upgrades and just go with autocannons

Lemans - drop the pointless upgrades

Taurox does not need dozer blade as it rerolls anyway

That said, grav-pistol and power lance is a pretty fun gimmick build for hunting monsters. Grav pistol knocks a wound off and takes them down to I1 then the sargent charges and tries to take the beast down with s5/6 ap3 lance.

My advice would be to not mix Blastmasters, Sonic Blasters, and Doom sirens in the same unit.

Either go for a squad of 10 with 2 Blastmasters and the others barebones, a squad with all sonic Blasters of variable size, or a champ with a Doom siren and CC weapons on everyone.

For that, I would say the focus should be on sonic blaster squads. You want at least 1 or 2 with Blastmasters. Close combat squads should mainly be small and for saving points, and making sure the CC rolls on the drug table aren't wasted.

Why are these three held up as terrible? I get the messing around with model distances and base crap, but those three...

First removes the need to reference a second stat line for your weapons. Second initiative has been a waste of time, trying to regulate who hits when (orks I2, close combat race meme for example) and shooting into melee... long as there's a chance to hit friendly or penalties, I'm down with it.

Also, wouldn't a dragon have more wounds than the goblin to make up for it? I dunno, i just see the benefits... I can charge a bunch of goblins into a Dragon and have an actual chance to kill it. Does kinda narrow the range between cannon-fodder scrubs and untouchable demigods, but I'll take that from a design point over someone putting down Magnus the Red and if I'm playing Orks, half my army being unable to even wound him (because that's FUN for everyone...)

Almost certainly not. Not even AoS really lost Slaanesh, given that there is an explicitly named Sorcerer of Slaanesh that is trying to release it and the fact that removing Slaanesh would completely invalidate four separate model lines (40K Emperors Children, Chaos Daemons, HH Emperors Children, AoS Daemons).

The thing about Fantasy was that it was doing horribly from a financial standpoint. They wouldn't knowingly fuck up their two greatest cash cows of 40K and HH, especially given the overwhelmingly negative reaction to removing Slaanesh in AoS.
