So to reply to the two anons from last thread who asked me to sell my E8 game to 'em, since I had to go to dinner, I can try and sell 'em on it now.

So, it's basically set in two settings at once; Noiralog (Bizarro Golarion) and Eberron, with the two connected via Spelljammer ships, those oldass "AD&D in Space" ships that punch through to other multiverses. The setting the party starts in of the two, though, is something the group that's picked from the applicants will decide on a Session 0, but eventually both settings will become available, by about level 3-4.

If you want to learn about the buffalo, a good book to look at is "The Destruction of the Bison: An Environmental History, 1750-1920 (Studies in Environment and History)" by Andrew C. Isenberg. Also gives a lot of information about the Native Americans and their involvement with the buffalo!

It's on amazon but it's probably piratable, and is a fairly accessible read as far as historical scholarship goes.

I haven't been able to make anything truly weird in Pathfinder. In 3.5 I used to have fun with Tashalatora (feat that gives you Monk unarmed progression among other things for your levels in a psionic class) Soulknife who used Reshape Mind Blade to have a Mind Blade of his unarmed strike, which he could then throw at people. To be fair I don't think I could ever make anything that weird ever again.

I wanted to play it because Soulknife and Monk were like the two worst classes in the game but this basically gestalted them into a thing that combined and enhanced their weapon-scaling features together, becoming somewhat functional.

If you have the prerequisites for the next feat in a feat's tree and you have it, then you're limited only by the amount of combat feats you can gain temporarily with the feat. And since this is E8, that means you could get the first feat in a tree, but also the next feat above that, and so you could use the other combat feat slot to get the next feat in a chain after that, essentially acting like 3 feats for the use of two, if only for a limited amount of time a day.

Maximized Empowered Summon monster V with Superior summoning + A rod to Quicken another Maximized Empowered Summon Monster V (that he pretty much blew his entire budget on), getting 8 lantern archons per summon, so more like 16 per turn if he went all out. Another nicely accessible book, this one about a massive Native American trade empire in the 1400s. Good read, rather interesting.

If you want to read a lot about colonization in the Carolinas. I find this one a bit exhausting to get through, honestly. Read it on one of my professors' recommendations but wouldn't do so again; however, it's the topic you're looking for.

Want to learn about trade and immigration in the Atlantic in the 1700s-1800s? This is a fun read.

I've been thinking of remodeling how healing spells work. Instead of getting instantly healed for 1d8+5 points of damage you instead gain fast healing equal to the spell's level and duration is dependent on what is rolled. So a CLW for 11 would give the character fast healing 1 for 11 rounds while a Cure Critical Wounds for 30 would give the character Fast Healing 4 for 7 and a half rounds.
