Alright, /tg/, I need your help. I'm trying to put together a superhero campaign for my local play group, but I'm terrible at coming up with NPC heroes. If you want to help, post a power idea here (bonus points for costume description, backstory, and/or hero name).

To start, here's an example of a villain I came up with (to give you all a feel of what the players will be up against in the end-game):

NAME: Maxwell
POWER: Command of the 2nd Law of Thermodynamics (i.e. the flow of heat) within a 300 yard radius of himself
COSTUME: A black pinstripe suit with blood red accents, a pair of equally black gloves, expensive dress shoes, matching blood red tie, and a horned kabuki mask resembling a grinning demon
BACKSTORY: after being adopted at a young age by the notorious supervillain known as "Laplace", Maxwell seemed destined for greatness. With the obscene potential of his abilities plain for anyone of reasonable intelligence to see, Laplace thought it best that young Maxwell be raised and educated by one of the most brilliant minds in the cape community--namely, himself. Under Laplace's watchful tutelage, the young boy swiftly became something of a prodigy--although one with a distinct weakness for the finer things in life. Now finally at the age of 20, he wants nothing more than to repay the debt that he feels he owes his "father." To this end, he will do anything necessary to live up to the family name, which can only end poorly for anyone who dares stand in his way.

I've been on a My Hero Academia kick now and was thinking of Quirk/Super powers that would be cool to play in a super's game

1. Resource management
- You can freely move "resources" from parts of your body to enhance others. For instance, you can increase your senses by lessening or deactivating other senses (for example, I better my hearing by removing my sense of taste and ability to see color or completely remove ability to see). The maximum ability of this power is to basically give yourself a one minute boost of super human ability, at which point you are exhausted for an entire day.

2. Metal Fetish
- You have the ability to eat vehicles and electronics. In doing so you have the abliity to assimilate what you have eaten into a form of armor. For instance, if you eat a bike your form will have aspects of the motorcycle(s) you have eaten and allow you to become agile, Similiarly if you ate a car your form would resemble aspects of the car but have more all around power increase. When released your armor sloughs off your body and becomes inert and you have to eat the same amount of vehicles to get the same ability again.

3. Bubbles
-You have the ability to produce a sphere of force that has the consistance of a bubble. As long as you hold onto it you can manipulate it freely in size and malleability. Upon releaseing it hardens and has mass equal to it's size. It will always be lightwheight in your hands but you can only destroy it afterwards as it cannot be reshaped.

As a follow-up, behold the adoptive father:

NAME: Laplace
POWER: perfect knowledge+comprehension of all rules (written and unwritten, man-made and otherwise), along with the mental processing power to correlate all of this data (and the interactions between them) at once while still being able to function.
COSTUME: A black pinstripe suit with silver accents, a pristine pair of white dancing gloves, onyx cuff links with silver accents, a simple grey tie, expensive dancing shoes, and an elegant horned opera mask covering the upper portions of his face
BACKSTORY: any information about Laplace's true identity and origin has been either buried under a mountain of bribes and red tape or lost to the annals of time. All that remains are whispers--rumors of high-profile CEOs and supervillains in legal trouble "making a deal with the devil," then suddenly having the exact arguments and loopholes they need to walk free; ghost stories of a nigh-untouchable boogeyman whom even the most daring heroes fear to cross, let alone challenge; and even some tales of multiple world governments marching to the metaphorical tune of just one man. All quake with fear at the approach of the Demon, for he leaves naught but destruction in his wake.

Oh, a pair of heroes I forgot about:

NAMES: Rough and Tumble
POWERS: Rough has a downright ridiculous healing factor and gets exponentially stronger (and proportionally bigger) based on the amount of damage she has taken over the past 24 hours. Tumble, for his part, controls gravity (direction, force, etc.) within a 50 yard radius of himself.
COSTUMES: Rough doesn't so much wear a costume as she does have sturdy, stretchy undergarments to keep decent when she's hulking out (she maintains her secret identity through sheer intimidation). Tumble, seemingly making up for this lack of heroic panache, wears a garish harlequin outfit straight out of a New Orleans Mardi Gras parade.
BACKSTORY: An Army field medic during the First Gulf War, Rough (or, as she was known then, Sgt. Beverly Gleeson) was already having a terrible time of things during what was SUPPOSED to be a routine supply run. Her helicopter had been shot down by a stray RPG, her squad was mostly dead (save for the nearly insensate pilot), and they were ass-deep in the middle of nowhere with 20 miles of mountains between her and the nearest town. Wincing with pain, she struggled to her feet (miraculously unscathed in spite of several tears in her body armor), hauled the gibbering pilot into a fireman's carry (ignoring that he was now staring at her in wide-eyed shock, babbling something about "the angels coming to save him"), and set to trudging/fighting through enemy-infested territory towards the only hope she had. She was unaware, of course, that she had been cut to ribbons by the helicopter wreckage, as well as the fact that she got shot more than once on the return journey. She learned these things rather quickly, though, once she got into contact with her command unit and explained the situation (which would only have been possible with superpowers). Sgt. Gleeson (along with her eventual husband Capt. Hoffstead) were quietly shipped off to a secret training facility, and the rest is history.

Fun fact: despite learning the truth behind Rough's "divine intervention", Tumble's preferred pet name for her remains "Angel" to this day.
>>
NAME: Milton Darby
POWER: Carries board games hidden on his person. Anyone tricked into engaging him in any way in a game is subject to its rules in real life until the game concludes.
COSTUME: 3 piece suit, top hat
BACKSTORY: A trafficker in Egyptian antiquities, Milton discovered and attempted to raid the tomb of the King of Games, its occupant waking to challenge him to a gamble for souls. Not having his own deck of stone monoliths, Milton suggested they play Mouse Trap, which appealed to the ancient spirit for its colors and the machine being neat. Surviving harrowing psychological tactics that didn't affect play much, Milton finally rolled high enough to win and departed with the King's title and power.

Nice! Good job working in some /tg/ flavor, too. What does he go by when he's out doing his hero (or villain) thing?

Name: Mr. Thirteen (Andre Fuentes)
Power: Able to control the actions of thirteen people at a time, assuming control when he makes eye contact with them, although other capes seem resistant to the power, and can take extended and unbroken eye contact to control.
Costume: A dress shirt and pants, generally of horribly clashing colours, with an intricately detailed and decorated masquerade mask which changes in every appearance he makes (He creates them himself during his downtime). Thinks that he looks far cooler and more impressive than he actually does.
Backstory: When a teenage boy gets mind control powers, using them responsibly isn't exactly high up on the priorities list. Several dozen sexual assault and rape charges later, Andre was on the run, using his power to find places to crash at and food to eat. Soon enough though, Andre started committing robberies, using his controlled victims as hostages to force heroes to back off. Recently was injured in a confrontation with an anti-hero who was all too happy to cut down a civilian to get a good hit in on him.

NAME: High Order (Villain, independant)
POWERS: High Order is able to create large bursts of concussive force, similar to the blast wave created by exposives, within an extremely large radius of himself, estimated at 150 meters, without requiring line of sight. These are just as dangerous as actual blast waves, and can cause severe trauma to the internal organs of victims.
COSTUME: High Order wears a grey body suit as the base of his outfit, with Black BDUs on over it. It is suspected that the body suit provides some measure of protection against the effects of his own blast waves, as he switched to it from the balaclava and underclothing he used prior after being apprehended by a hero who moved into close quarters, where he was unable to attack without injuring himself. He has since been seen using blast waves at a much closer range than beforehand.
BACKSTORY: Our files do not have exact details on his identity or past, but his behavior in combat suggests some level of military training. In the past, he has made references to a terrorist attack that affect him personally, although due to his evasiveness about the said terrorist attack doesn't narrow down the possibilities of who he could be.

Keep it up! I'm really liking these suggestions! Here's the lady in charge of "super"vising the player's antics:

NAME: Lexicon (Prof. Alice Shumacher)
POWER: legendarily fast speed-reader who can assume the powerset of the main character of any book until the next time she goes to sleep. Limited to fiction, and she must read the book in question cover to cover beforehand. Can't use the same book more than once per month.
COSTUME: stereotypical librarian garb (tweed jacket, bow tie, reading glasses, pink undershirt, slacks, dress shoes, pocket square)
BACKSTORY: Alice didn't exactly have the best childhood. Her father was a raging alcoholic, her mother was a junkie, and both of them took out their frustrations on her. Alice quickly grew to love the escapism provided by reading, but her highly religious family did not approve of the fantastic, "ungodly" material she was consuming. In a fit of drunken fury, her father started throwing her books into the fireplace to "teach her a lesson"... after awakening in the police station, Alice was shocked to learn that she had *literally punched her father into a bloody crater*. After reading a Sherlock Holmes novel in the waiting room, she swiftly put the pieces together and decided to use her powers for good. Nobody should have to suffer the way she did.

NAME: _______, (____________)
POWER: Details are sketchy, but someone out there can erase records and memories of objects and individuals from the collective consciousness. The higher profile the target, the less effective it is. A gun or a random individual would be trivial, but a celebrity or treasure? Expect strong senses of deja vu and remembering that you remembered them.
COSTUME: ___________
BACKSTORY: Hard to tell, obviously. It's only the incredibly conspicuous lack of capes in a major city that clued those in the know that something might be up. More so when a handful of "new" heroes in the area seemed to expect everyone to already know them. Since then, any number of strange events or bind spots have been blamed on the mystery man's machinations. Fortunately for the rest of us, it looks like this power may have made the culprit complacent, as the panicked trails of "lack" left as they try to flee back into the shadows are anything but subtle.
