Inspired by the autism in the last thread: what's the best, worst, or craziest character someone in your game played (or tried to play)?

For me, best was the chainsaw-toting ewok, and worst was the cannibal sex slave for customers with a vore fetish.
>>
>>52081712
Best: Jedi Toshiro Mifune
Worst: Twi'lek grey jedi who seduces her way out of literally everything because muh no attachment means I don't care (pitched in an online game, thrown in the trash)
Funny how that goes
>>
Just read the pic about clone wars and I feel like watching it. Should I?
>>
>>52082372
Yes. It's very hit or miss. But if you've seen the guide, follow it and give it a go. It's well worth it in the end.
>>
>>52082372
Yes it's good. I was put off by the animation style and loyalty to the 2003 one but once I started watching it it was really great.
>>
>>52082372

I only just picked it up a couple of weeks back for that exact reason.
Basically, yeah, go for it. It's pretty good stuff. Some episodes are duds and probably worth skipping, but I've been watching it all and Im enjoying the experience all told.

That said, Jar-jar episodes get a hard skip.

>>
>>52082372
Clone episodes are great, Bounty Hunter episodes are great, Ventress episodes are great, Plo Koon episodes are amazing, Ahsoka episodes are kinda meh early but really good by the end, Obi Wan and Anakin episodes are hit and miss, Padme and Jar Jar episodes are all trash.
>>
>>52082526

I get too annoyed by him going full 'do something retarded but its magically useful and perfect for the situation!'.

It really bugs me.
>>
>>52082526
The only good things in those episodes were a couple scenes with Mace and the part where Jar Jar just runs up and clotheslines a kid.
>>
>>52082565
Clone episodes are easily the best. Especially the final arc in the sixth season with Fives.
>>
>>52082590

Shadow Warrior figured out how to make Jar Jar funny: have him bug the shit out of General Grievous.

Also, Tarpals being a fucking badass.

Since Disney is fully in control, i'm not sure what sources they can draw from still.

When the very concept of an open-world space sim becomes feasible beyond over-scoped disappointment. Alternately, whenever Chris Roberts gets done with Star Citizen. If it's anything like Wing Commander, it'll be Star Wars with the serial numbers filed off.

24 point PS 5 elite generic is a given.

Will their Torp slot be a Refit or give a free Torp?

What properties do they even have to work with for ships now? Rogue 1 and Rebels I guess?

Rebels had an Interceptor and a Defender, who is ready for Imperal Veterans-2? Comes with Royal-er guard TIE, TIE/E and TIE/x8 titles.

There are some meh and trash episodes but on the whole TCW is top tier. Ignore any retard who tells you to use a viewing guide. Only guide you need is the chronological guide since the series was released out of order.
>>
>>52083188
If past Scum releases are any indication, then Legends is still a valid source. It would be financially unwise for Disney and FFG to completely bin Legends anyway--it's an easy source of free starships, pilots, names, and tech.
>>
>>52083410
Wave 9 was when disney fully took over.

From that point onward, no legends stuff.

X-Wing has released canon stuff in the last few waves, sure. There's a lot of high-profile canon stuff to get through. People are more likely to buy shit if they just saw it in a movie or on TV. But we've gotten through most of the Rebels-exclusive ships now, so they're out of those and will have to go for Legends stuff. This year, The Last Jedi is coming out, which will probably just use all the same ships from The Force Awakens, so FFG will have room to use Legends stuff (unless The Last Jedi isn't creatively bankrupt like TFA and gives them more ships to work with).

At the same time, I would like to draw your attention to the fact that they've done an incredible number of Legends ships already. They're scraping the bottom of the barrel for this era so hard they found the K-Wing and the TIE Punisher. The only Legends ships from this era that I can even think of that they need to release and haven't yet are the assault gunboat and the missile boat, and I'm sure they're on the way.

>>
>>52085575
>>52085546
As clarification, it's concept art that was leaked alongside an image that turned out to be of Ello Atsy,

So if the source is still good, it's a FO TIE Advanced. The Interceptor is concept art of TFA, and the bomber is a leak from some toy fairs.
>>
>>52085527
>>52085542
If these are legit then it's nice that they at least look different but I kinda hope they don't get fast laned into X-wing since they don't look different enough to not just be +1 shield, tech slot and t-rolls/sloops that the FO fighter was.
>>
Does Armada see reasonable levels of play, or is it pretty much dead since it's almost directly competing with X-Wing?
>>
>>52085597

>>
>>52085732
>>52085676
I'm not an armada player, but from what I've heard, people grumble about it taking up too much space - not every FLGS has tables big enough, leading to it not catching on everywhere.
>>
>>52085542
Real talk?

I love this design.
It's like a beautiful love child between a interceptor and a Defender.

Really hope FO design starts pushing for the opposite theme than Empire. Given their reduced man power, resources and training from birth they probably need to switch roles with the NR (being an efficient, elite strike force outmaneuvering their larger clumsier opponent).

Really too much to ask though, because they don't ever want the "good guys" to not be the underdogs.

So text roleplay voice OOC games seem to be the preference for FFG. How do I manage a text roleplay game though? I've only ever run voice campaigns for FFG, and I'm confused as to how to properly do text for RP, though I can see that it would provide a lot more depth to the environment and fix the issue of trying to do voices for aliens and shit for muh immersion.
>>
>>52086240
You type stuff instead of saying it out loud...?
>>
>>52085676
Dead, partly because of competition from X wing and partly because of problems with the game itself (steeper learning curve, higher initial cost, requires more space, longer games, less model variety, fewer factions). All this is ignoring the balance issues and rebel bias that has saturated the game for a while now.

I know I'm late with this but HOLY SHIT THAT REBELS EPISODE.

You can really tell they saved a lot of budget for this one, the particles and effects were great. Mon Mothma was great. Gold 5 is a goddamn hero. The only flaw was having Gold Leader be completely subordinate to Ezra and Hera, he never showed any confidence in himself or gave orders, and hesitated about possibly shooting Ezra when he'd seen three other fighters get murdered. It seems inconsistent with his(limited) portrayal in ANH and R1, where he reacted completely calmly even when shit hit the fan.

But hey, we got Y-Wing action and Ion cannons are canon again.

A truly woke 8 year-old would be philosophizing about the differences between the Cosmic Force, Living Force, Unifying Force, and Brain Force. Or ranting about the Empire putting chemicals in the water that make the Gungans gay.

So I just ran my players(3) through the Escape from Mos Shuuta beginners module and they enjoyed it quite a bit and want me to run more SW related games. The only problem is I wasn't expecting them to take to it so quickly, and I'm at a loss as to what to do with them next. Game night isn't far away, so I don't think I can come up with a whole session in the meantime, so I was thinking of just running another module.

Can anyone suggest a good module that can be played after EfMS? Something that's still kind of beginner friendly would be nice.

Also, as an aside, one of my players made a trandoshan hired gun, and he dumped all of his starting XP to give himself Brawn 5. He has an effective soak of like 9. What can I realistically throw at this guy to make sure he doesn't just walk through everything?

I mean, look at it like this; he's a big bad fucking Brawn 5 Trando with a giant gun I assume. He's gonna paint himself a target, as a Hired Gun.

Also, you can think of it like this; he invested a lot of points into being a hard badass. There's nothing wrong in catering slightly to that. Let him take on a bunch of mooks and come out unscatched some times too. Makes the targeted tank-buster enemies feel a bit more fair.
>>
>>52094340

>Would this feel like I would be picking on him if things like this showed up too often?

This. the trick is to let the player have their fun, but also keep the player challenged often enough that they don't consider themselves to be an "I Win" button for all the party's combat needs.
>>
>>52094678
He decided to go with Marauder considering his base Agility was so shit. Among the three of them none of them are adept at conversing. Also they seem to lack a dedicated tech guy the droid in the party filling both pilot and engineer role, only he can't do both at the same time when engaged in space combat. I think it'll be up to the trandoshen to pick up the slack in that department considering the other guy acts as the gunner for the group.

Any helpful advice I can pass along to my players who are new to making SW characters?

DMing an Edge/Rebellion/Force game and need some advice. The group is centered around a ship that the owner of is kinda of a Han Solo type. Whats a good, non rail-roady, way to get them to stay on one planet for a decent amount of time? The owner of the ship isnt a hardcore rebel so they may not be inclined to bunker down to help a rebel cell. My main goal is to be able to have some sessions where they can just hop in their ship and pop over to where they need to go. Want some interaction with locals and such.

That's where the money is, so if the jobs keep paying there's no need to leave.

There's an imperial blockade of the system, so they can't leave until it's lifted (which they could have a hand in)

Their hyperdrive is busted so they need to do a series of jobs to afford repairs. Maybe they're looking for a specific part that they need to track down .
>>
>>52096443
>>52096578
To add to this, nothing gets a party more focused and riled up than a group of assholes who stole their ship. Preferably with all their stuff in it.
>>
>>52096443
Another variation on the broken parts theme, something in the hyperdrive needs replacement, and the part isn't available locally. There's a shop who can order one for them, it'll just take "a while" to get there, and in the mean time, somebody's got a lead on an interm job that might seague into more jobs on-planet

So I'm still fleshing out ideas for my FFG campaign, and am leaning favorably towards having the players be non-Jedi, non-Sith, Force-sensitive monks who basically end up in the position to choose between helping the Rebels, helping the Empire, or helping their monastery (wildcard, bitches). They're not Gray Jedi, but still non-affiliated Force users who don't even use lightsabers (at first). That or I may stick to my original plan of EotE Debts to Pay with a homebrewed "storyline" that may open other adventures up. If any of you remember me discussing these a few days ago, cool, I've been mulling over them.

I'm planning to do this one text-based for roleplay. Voice will be reserved for combat and out of RP shit. My last game with Voice was good, players liked it, but it was a drag for me. I'm great at doing a variety of human, elf, dwarf, orc, whatever personalities and mannerisms and accents, but when it comes to completely alien races with their own completely alien languages.. it got a little rough to maintain variety and not run in to the same Asiany Rodian or British Imperial every time. Text, so I've heard, opens up for a lot more detail and depth.

My problem is this: how do you keep players from getting bored with Text? Assuming they want it to be Text in the first place. Obviously I'll have to type up shittons and we'll each have to wait on each other to do things, unless we split off and I multichar their encounters, but I'm worried they'll lose interest while I'm describing the scene (the surroundings for the viewers at hoome!) or that we'll have issues knowing when each player has a turn to act without outright mandating an out-of-combat initiative order.

So, in general, how do I handle text-based campaigns well and effectively if I've never done them before?
>>
>>52097757
And an addendum: is there a good way to find good players? I use Roll20. Love the interface, love the assets, and some really good people use it, but a lot of shitty people use it as we all know. Star Wars seems to suffer from this the most. Most public game listings I've seen get quite a few with applying for characters with two sentence posts of

>"hi am john i rly love stars wars hope 2 join ur game i want to be a jedi he strong but does not know his history and he want to fight empire for his safety and the other jedi with him to cant wait let me know if u invite me"

Most of the good games are either private entirely or are long since filled up with the really good players. How do I go about advertising effectively and getting some good people for my (hopefully) good games? Especially if it's text-only, I don't want to have a bunch of micro-attention-span kids applying for it. I'll need deep RPers who don't mind a little reading in the vein of old school RPGs.

Any tips and tricks?
>>
>>52097757
>>52097813
Honestly, in practical terms any online game is going to involve sorting through many useless wankers looking for good players, it's just the nature of the beast.
But you could try something like asking everyone to answer a couple of simple, maybe offbeat questions about their characters, those are great for getting roleplayers going and they tend to somewhat styme the unimaginative or twelve.
Also, you had really better make it plain that they're unaffiliated *light siders* unless you want every sonofabitch with lightning fantasies from here to a
Assdisaster, Nebraska swarming your game
>>
>>52097813
I've had success with a combination of 3 tactics

Posting on roll20 20 and wading through the garbage. It sucks, but there are quality players somewhere on the site
Posting on 4chan. Again, lots of shit but wading through you'll find quality people
And finally, having friends (or your players having friends) Word of mouth is the best
>>
>>52089445
is this from an actual article or blog post?

If so, let me guess: Wendig.
>>
>>52097928
Definitely. I'll wanna play it very safe if I'm inviting players to be Force sensitives right off the bat. On that note, I'm still really torn between a pure EotE campaign running off of Debts to Pay, ot my Force Sensitives idea. I'm still not sure what to pick in the end.

Anyone else noticed that the ending of Empire's End seems to conflict with the ending of Lost Stars and other information regarding the post-Jakku Imperial remnants and the Galactic Concordance?

Alright, so in Life Debt Rax shows Sloane that there are imperial fleets hiding in a number of nebulas, including the Quelehan (or something) nebula. Later these fleets join the main remnant under the control of Rax. Later, in Empire's End, this remnant, stated to effectively be what's left of the Empire at this point, travels to Jakku. During the climactic battle a few months later the Empire is effectively destroyed, leaving few survivors. Sloane is in the Unknown regions, and there are some insignificant Imperial holdouts left, but they're essentially limited to singular systems.

Yet, at the end of Lost Stars, which occurs months after the Battle of Jakku, there's an Imperial fleet in the Quelehan nebula (the very same Nebula that a portion of the fleet aat Jakku had been hiding in previously), with upgraded, deadlier TIE's. During this epilogue, it's said that the factionalism that had previously divided the Empire during the post-Endor period is gone, and the Imperial Navy is ready to strike back...

What? Isn't all that's really left holed up in the Unknown Regions is Sloane, Brendol and Armitage Hux, Brendol's brainwashed kids, and the Eclipse SSD? The First Order couldn't have started up adn established an outpost in the known galaxy that quickly. Surely the few and far-between remnants, which are basically single-system holdouts, aren't united?

Furthermore, at the end of Empire's End, when the Imperialis is traveling through the Unknown Regions, it sends coordinates to Imperials deemed "loyal" by Palpatine himself.
Where were they? Wasn't the vast majority of the Empire destroyed at Jakku? Wasn't that the POINT of Jakku, to gather, and then destroy, what remained of the Empire that failed to protect its Emperor? I doubt these "loyal Imperials" are the same desperate holdouts mentioned at the end of Empire's End.

Finally, prior to Empire's End the Galactic Concordance was stated as rendering the Empire a "rump state", forbidden from assembling Stormtrooper forces or moving outside of certain defined boundaries within the Inner Rim. Yet, in Empire's End the Concordance is stated to officially dismantle the Empire as a governmental entity; the Empire is rendered not a rump-state, but a non-existent one.

The Aftermath trilogy seems to contract all other post-Endor canon media, with a few exceptions. The only explanation I can think of is that at some point the Story Group changed their minds on what happens to the Empire after Jakku.

I think you can trust most of the authors, the problem is Wendig is friends with the people who run the story group, so they'll let him get away with more shit. Seriously, imagine if some one who wasn't so well tied to the group tried to get away with his shitty writing.

Oh you sweet summer child...

Questanon was another namefag who came around a couple years back, around the same time most of swg's nameposters (shipfag, X-Wing Writefag, IIRC Redback came around shortly thereafter) came around. His deal was finding the worst Star Wars fanfic and reading it and reviewing it so we wouldn't have to. Questanon's stuff was all sorts of "pain train" material.

He hasn't been seen in the better part of a year, though.

So I brought a really different list to x-wing night expecting people to be trying all sorts of weird new stuff since palp aces got nerfed. Double blue squadron B-wings with FCS and Flechette cannons and double rookie X-wings with plasma torpedos and guidance chips.

Got blasted off the table by Palp aces one game and a double defender list the second. Did some really good blocking, there were maybe three or four rounds out of both games where I felt like I didn't make the best move available to me, felt like I was flying way better than my opponent every round, but it all came to naught because even with constant target lock + focus shots I struggled to get past any amount of raw evasion at all. Only took out one ship each game and both games it was the lowest value shit.

I already was really disappointed with B-wings having run named ones a couple times, now I really just hate them completely. Fuck that shitty dial.

He gets used to being invincible and the party get used to him being so for a few early fights, and them bam, pierce breach tank killer bounty hunter shows up for him.

Seems thematically cool but they might as well have just said Scum only on it because the only Rebel thing you can put it on is the HWK and I can't see that being worth it at all. Same for the Arc Caster, I can see why they made it faction locked because they don't want a Defender double tapping with it but no one is going to put that on a B-wing or YT-2400.

Well, Regen is traditionally a rebel thing (though now Scum have two cards to do it), and the fact that it works on the HWK which is a dual faction ship is probably why they get it too. Might also future proof if they get others with 1 shield. It should also be noted that while they might not prefer to take it, both the scum ships said to be in a bit of a bind can take PRS too... and it gives you a reason to be careful about Light Syck.

Also, Arc Caster isn't imperial because they have Ruthlessness already. It'd be way too easy to abuse that on a TIE/D to stack auto-damage. Also means we might see more imperial cannon slots soon.

Well, by most objective reasoning you're probably wrong - the StarViper ain't got shit on Protectorates for it's increase in cost and Virago's kind of a pain in the dick as a unique which gives the SV the System slot it really wants. And only the named pilots can take it. It needs an Ace pack with a cost reduction or 0-1 pt title to make it actually worth flying. No shame if you find them fun, or if they work for how you play though.

They are retarded though, the Syck pilots and focused upgrades are great. SV and Kihraxz will probably get bundled into "Black Sun Aces", hopefully soon.

Why? The /D defender doesn't see competitive play anyway.

It loses out on a valuable EPT slot if it takes ruthlessness and 2 auto dmg usually isn't a big deal to scum/rebs and Imp aces are usually further than range 1 anyway so it can backfire.

Really they just can't let Imperials have nice things because this was probably in production before the FAQ changes were being discussed internally.

I'd wager if defenders could take the cannon the /D title would see lots of play. It's 2 points to double your damage potential at range 1 and basically become Corran Horn.

How long to you think it takes for newly printed, errata'd cards to end up in stores? I was thinking about getting a mist hunter sometime and it would be nice to have one with the correct card text.

Taking one damage to double tap and have the potential to delete most of the small ships in the game off the board in a single turn, possibly even before they get to shoot back, seems like a pretty good trade to me.

Struggling with setting up low level encounters for my players in Saga. We're all new to the system but its hard to find the middle ground between laughably pathetic enemies and stuff that can just obliterate them

Guess what, you also don't have to use it. You can just choose to use your 4 die primary instead if it would only hit you. But yeah, two 4 die R1 attacks possibly with mods and stacked spread damage is not fun. People are already experimenting with TIE/D using shit like Tractors/Expertise there's no need to make it an "obvious" choice to add a 2 pt cannon.

I'm not going to lie, the new Vader comic sounds like a really cool idea. Granted it's a Star Wars product and as such it's a coin flip as to whether it will be any good but I'm at least mildly hype.

Having an entire species of people support one side or another is boring and unrealistic. So that alone is a good reason for a twi to support the Empire. But it also could be a self-centered decision, with the twi'lek getting money, security, assurances.
>>
>>52109179
But the Empire encourages Humans First (which works because they're a huge part of the galactic population and everywhere). And Twi'leks aren't exactly well treated.
Maybe high ranking twi'leks would support the Empire, but I doubt any of them would grab a blaster and go hunt rebels or jump into a TIE.

Well, if they buy into the official Imperial line, the rebels are just neo-Separatists and the CIS did a number of Ryloth during the Clone Wars.
>>
>>52109298
Would they? Isn't Ryloth a bit of a scoundrel haven? Which mean they'd have access to non-Imperial news sources.
And... and how does the Empire even mask its Humans first policy?
>>
>>52109216
I know it's the party line, but I always thought of the Empire as more 'human-like beings" first. So Twi'leks or Chiss or whatever sure. Maybe they still get some shit but they're not Ithorians or anything.
>>
>>52109356
I thought it was everything non-human, and especially near-humans like say, Zabrak, because they could nearly pass for human and that makes them worse.
Always seemed weird how bothans were such effective spies in such an empire.
>>
>>52109086
In the reconquest of the rim after ep 3 the Empire "liberated" a lot of worlds not only from the CIS but also from the hutt worlds that the hutts had expanded into during the clone wars, they even annexed a chunk of hutt space. In those areas it's likely the empire would have "freed" the slaves and welcomed them as tax paying citizens. Even if life would still be pretty shit and they would over time be subject to the return of hutt corruption and shittier imperial governors, there's a fair chunk of people who would have seen a rise in rights, just because they start from nothing. Also, the Empire is Space British empire, it only makes sense for them to turn some aliens/locals into favored subjects and make sure the alien races in a sector are too busy squabbling over one another rather than against the empire. So you probably get the Twi'leks getting a better treatment than say the zabraks in some areas, and vice versa. Basicly, think india, cyprus, all those places.

Spies don't really work like James Bond or Jason Bourne in real life. Spycraft almost never includes people breaking into secure facilities, or shooting everyone to solve problems.

Instead, they recruit people who already have access to those facilities, and somehow coerce them into doing it.

The important people are the handlers - the people coordinating these assetsn. The bothans could very well be the best at manipulating those in the Imperial military into trading secrets, without ever needing to masquerade as Imperials themselves.
>>
A little teaser for Ben vs maul has been posted
>>
>>52109581
Or the Bothans could be such a ubiquitous underclass that they have access to facilities as maintenance/janitorial/menial staff. They could have the sharp eyes and fast fingers to pocket ID cards, data disks, etc. Or a good enough memory to understand and later exploit security systems.
>>
>>52109400
It's almost as if nothing in the movie supports that the Empire has an anti alien bias. All that stuff is nonsensical EU thinking to make the empire look more evil
>>
>>52110088

Apart from the fact that you never, ever, see a single alien member of the Empire. Theyre never mentioned either.
As opposed to the Rebellion who include Wookies, Mon Cals, Sullustans and Bothans that we know of and see in the films.
>>
>>52110112
>you never, ever, see a single alien member of the Empire
To be fair, that could also be explained away by costume issues. Most of the OT alien costumes were pretty bulky. While it might work with baggier, looser Rebel clothing, the alien stuff probably wouldn't fit under the Imperial officer clothes. And the facelessness of the stormtroopers makes it impossible to tell what species is under the helmet anyway.
>>
>>52110165
More than a few alien types in the cantina wear tight fitting clothing and a heavy mask.
>>
>>52110165

True enough, but the point remains - there's nothing in the films that shows the Empire has any aliens in its ranks. They use alien informants like that squeaky nigger on Tatooine, and the assorted bounty hunters in ESB, but other than that we dont see any.

Whilst the Rebellion we see/hear a bunch of.

You're right that the stormtroopers could all be ayys under those helmets, but we never see or hear any mention of that.

So it's not *really* 'nonsensical EU thinking to make the empire more evil'. It doesnt just come out of nowhere.
>>
>So it's not *really* 'nonsensical EU thinking to make the empire more evil'.

Except it is. Not having aliens in uniform when most of the uniforms are faceless and the rest aren't seen very often doesn't mean anything. Shit, we didn't see a single alien Rebel until Episode VI where they literally got their entire fleet out together. Tantive IV, Hoth, all human.
>>
>>52110112
>you never, ever, see a single alien member of the Empire
>Who is Thrawn
>>
>>52110240
Then again, Untill ep6 the only nonhuman in the alliance is chewbacca, and he's essentially a slave to Han solo. Life debt. But yeah, it boils down to costuming issues. It is a bit weird though that just because two more aliens show up in the alliance the writers decided to make the empire an evil sexist anti alien faction. Cause you can't be evil without those.

Technically we do, in fact, see an alien Imperial.

Mas Amedda, Palpatine's second-in-command and political stooge.
>>
>>52110631
That is quite true, though that's in the prequels. If one only counts the prequels and originals, I wonder what happened to mas amedda inbetween. He's not among those weird advisors with their hats consulting Palpatine on the second death star. Could be on Coruscant I guess
>>
>>52110652
Canonically, that's exactly right. He stays behind on Coruscant and basically manages the day-to-day operations of the Empire, and after Palpatine dies, tries to hold it all together under his rule but doesn't really have the charisma or the skill to do so.
>>
>>52110631
>>52110652
Mas Amedda is literally the second most powerful guy in the Empire.
>>
I do like how the Nu-Canon Empire is less "we're racist because we're evil!" and more "we're racist because most of our leadership comes from places that had bad experiences with non-humans."

The NuEmpire is more racist by proxy than direct, they're racist in the same way that a white dude from a small town might be racist; they don't have racism as an official part of their doctrine but it definitely informs their stances.

There's an EU piece where Luke is infiltrating an Imperial base and sees off-duty Stormtroopers chilling and shooting the shit. He speculates that it's likely some aliens serve in their ranks, but you'd never know it when they're on duty because of their helmets. You'd have to catch them off-duty or off-service to find out what it's like in the Corps as an alien, but there's no proof to anything aside from butthurt EU authors trying to make the Empire "muh evil devilnazis" that the Empire is racist.

I know "Empire vs. Rebellion" arguments tend to be shitstorms and I honestly do not want that to happen, but if we're being real here there's not even that much of the Empire that's even "evil." Their leader is a Sith Lord, but even then being a Sith doesn't make you auto-evil. There's Tarkin, but he's one guy that supposedly wanted to betray the Emperor anyway and he wasn't well-liked. There's pre-redemption Vader who was certainly a dick but again most Imperials didn't even like him. They allow slavery which is something the Republic allowed too. They have some corruption which the Republic had more of.The only "evil" thing about them in the eyes of normies is that they're "totalitarian" even though totalitarianism isn't auto-evil either. All politics depend on the leader for being good or evil, and I can't really say I think many leaders beyond Tarkin and pre-redeemed Vader were even evil. Palpatine was powerhungry and had ego but his actions were more pragmatic than anything else. He wanted the Sith to rule the galaxy and he did so. Killing all the Jedi was more of a war than an evil murderspree since the Jedi and Sith have been at war for thousands of years. The Jedi would've tried to do the same thing in his position if they wanted power. Maybe less violently but they'd sure as hell do it.
