So, about to finish up my current campaign with victory or death. After this I plan to do Dragon King for the first time.

Does Dragon King play well with any expansions? I'm thinking of swapping in Slender Man, since I am kinda tired of Armored Strangers and the Kingsmen.

Likewise, can I afford to add in or swap around Quarry?

Slenderman is a bad fit for Dragon King, since it gradually takes over your entire campaign.

While some people would recommend against "diluting" your Fighting Art and Disorder decks with other expansions, I've found that it makes very little difference. I would work in Gorm, Flower Knight, Dung Beetle Knight, Manhunter, and possibly Sunstalker.

Does it? I haven't used Slendy before, wanted to keep my first game fairly vanilla. I hear that he eventually replaces the rest of your nemesis fights. But I'm okay with that since my group is sort of 'meh' on the Butcher and the Hand anyway.

What's the best place to get a replacement Flower Knight mini? I'm fine with plastic or resin, but my current mini broke during a move and even after fixing it you can tell it was busted.

An occasional bubble here and there. Extra thin in some places (e.g. cloaks). Some rare occasions of small sections missing (one I bought had a tiny gemstone missing on some clothing. It probably broke off in the mould).

I've changed Intimacy so only 1-2 result makes you lose your female survivor. You also can reroll once each time you have to roll in the hunt table.
Another change is that you can decide before drawing HLs to do less hits than you already rolled, making speed not a detrimental stat.And "prepared" is not longer about straggler nonsense, you get +2 on your event roll if you are the straggler.

The game gets a little easier but more balance and enjoyable, You don't like because "muh difficulty" blow me

Must admit im quite impatient to get into this game.
Just wish 1.5 would come before autumn 18 due to the inevitable poots does a tabularasa 4-5times

Should I get Green Knight Armor and a set of extra dice?

I was looking at the requirement expansions for Green Knight and I'm getting them all, but people say its tough to actually build the set in game (haven't played more than 2 lantern years yet).

Concerning extra dice I was planning on getting some Chessex anyways but would be nice to have some extra hit location dice.

I ended up cutting all the promos and stuff. The content vs cost isn't worth it. Even if they're impossible to find I don't really care much when I save an extra $300~ or so by not getting them. I factor in the MSRP of the discounted xpacs when considering their worth and figure I'd rather save the $50-$40 on screaming god and cute moth/pepes.

I'm still paying less than a gambler lantern at the end of the day so for me it's been super cost effective.

The wanderers aren't the most cost effective thing being sold but I don't think they're a rip off either. It's honestly hard to say since a lot of their mechanics are still generally unknown.

When it comes to getting new expansions I just have a hard time justifying that much more money. I would LOVE to get Screaming God cause I love the sculpt but I'm already getting Abyssal Woods and I'm not sure how much play time the expansion would legitimately get being a end game only fight.

Cute Mosquito is Cute but I worry about the sculpt being cumbersome to play with, like Spidicules (which I'm only getting cause Abyssal Woods requires it).

Crafting the entire set requires rare resources and innovations from the Dung Beetle Knight, Flower Knight, Lion Knight, and Gorm expansions.

You should consider getting FK and Gorm because FK is pretty fun to hunt and fight, and Gorm is the only White Lion replacement you can even play with for the next several years when 1.5 content finally ships.

1.0 expansions that are in high demand are Dragon King, Dung Beetle Knight, Flower Knight, and Gorm. DK is the bigbadass model, DBK is the dev's favorite, FK in general sells quick, and Gorm had med-high demand because it's a solid expansion that replaces Lion, but is ugly model that puts some people off to it.

Spider is also worth extra mention since it and FK are part of 1.5's Abyssal Woods.

For 1.5 content, The Wanderers are all going to be limited print and will always have collectors value.

Abyssal Woods and Satin aka Ivory Dragon are high value targets.

Screaming God and Nightmare Ram are also popular.

How do people find timw to fight Gorm? Assuming Cat's Eye Circlet is crucial I usually spend the first 3 LY before Butcher crit fishing the Lion to try and get an eye. After Butcher I'll usually start on Screaming Antelope or FK until Phoenix. Then there's so many late game options like SS and DBK along with higher levels of all the other hunts, where does Gorm ever get a chance to fit in?

Also how would YOU do a Gorm prologue to literally replace the White Lion hunt?

I have Gorm and it's only hit the table once and I went right back to Lion so I could continue grinding circlet. Am I dumb? Is circlet not that worth? Should I forget about the circlet and just hunt Gorm to hunt Gorm?

I want the stone face bases but wave 3 is so sad

I've heard magnetizing the KD:M minis is a fucking nightmare but if you want to do the work there's guides on how people have done it.

The other idea I've heard sounds cooler to me. You build one male/female for each armor set and save the rest of the pieces. Then you use the rest to "immortalize" characters that were awesome/died in awesome ways.

I wanted to get into kingdom death back when it first was on kickstarter because the models looked cool, the story and art looked awesome and the rules looked neat but I didn't have the money at the time to back it.

Kingdom Death minis generally are first released with a small resin run of the mini which sells for a pretty penny. These minis, like the pinups, generally come with no game content, all you get is the mini itself. This lets poots raise money in between expansions, and finances his true addiction which is designing the models and creating monsters and shit.

As we have seen from the kickstarters, it is not uncommon for these resin minis to eventually be printed again later as plastic for relevant expansions. The black Knight, pariah, and many more all started off as resin runs with no rules, which now have expansions planned. All minis that come with game content, be it core or expansion, is high quality plastic. In most cases the plastic is comparable to the resin, is only on the most detailed of minis that the resin version has specific advantages to the skilled painter.

I like KDM Achromatic (Scripted) which is very new, but actually has scripts for the expansion monsters as well. Just make sure to set a background so you get some lighting.

By the way, I have a question: How should I get my players to go after higher level monsters? They very quickly figured out that the risk/reward for fighting a level 2 or a level 3 is not worth it, so I'm wondering if I should up the rewards for them. Or maybe just go full Rule of Death mode and say that after, I dunno, every two successful hunts the monster inevitably levels up? Or would that be TOO far in the other direction?

Once Upon A Time there was an anon who posted a request to have their OC converted to their KDM survivor version. A drawfriend obliged, the art was created, and laughs were had. (said drawfriend later colored it as well; pic related)

Anon would later off-handedly show the drawfriend's art to Poots in email chats discussing different things, including exploring options to prevent instant sellouts and scalpers on the webstore. Poots gets a kick out of the art apparently but doesn't further comment much on it.

Fast-forward to the final day of the kickstarter, where Poots had already claimed he was starting to "get crazy" about the new content updates. Anon comes home from work to see the Anonymous Survivor update, and understandably is fueled by excitement alone for the next couple weeks. Poots even invites them to provide feedback on both the model itself while in development as well as the gameplay content the promo comes with.

This anon is also an older tripfag who would give away things on /tg/ over Christmas holiday(sometimes extending into newyears) as well as post in KDM threads, but tripping only occasionally now due to the wrongtrip doppleganger shitposters.

Sunfags will try to tell you sunstalker's people of the sun campaign is worthy, but all they really change is how you reproduce, a mildly-different set of survival actions, remove twilight knight for shittier katana masters, and an easymode timeline with no nemesis encounters until the end of the campaign. Meanwhile Dragonking's People of the Stars more dramatically changes how you play your campaign and manage your survivors, and adding nemesis encounters doesn't literally break the campaign's intention.

I'll trip briefly just to answer your question. The character Rime is the female version of my elfboy character for whom my namesake is. When I first used him in a KDM campaign, he quickly got maneater'd on a hunt within the first three years, gained vestiphobia, then got nominated for Strange Spot, rolling the high result on it.

Since the initial excitement of Anon Survivor is gone, I tend to only trip if I have some update I can share on KDM/Anon Survivor, or if I feel like tripping serves a use such as answering the occasional question about it.

The wanderers/crossovers may be avaliable later, particularly at cons. Nothing is officially KS2 Exclusive, but due to the nature of rights licensing, one shouldn't expect to find the crossovers easily. Anon Survivor, being a wanderer but not a crossover, might be a good deal easier to get ahold of later.

I used an Italian guy who is a go to through china/euro recasts. I'd say the overall quality was 8/10, not much more than normal cleanup. I've only had 1 real fuck up with the grandmother cast but I'm competent in greenstuffing shit so I was able to fix her up. webstore.com, seller is samp1080 if you're interested. He's really good if you keep communication with him, if there's anything bunk like a missing piece or breaking/creating bundles. The resin varies, but again, I'd say overall quality is 8/10 and sometimes pretty fuckin' stellar.

I got curious, and on the Internet that's almost never a good thing. But, here I am anyway. I did some digging, some social media creeping, some reddit stalking, a little mining of the archives, (and then the wayback machine) and some deviant art vomit wading. (Gods above and below, I wish I had not done that last bit. I need brain bleach.) As best I can tell, the story is this.

Ekoi made a non targeted request for anyone to draw his mayonnaise gendered Gary Sue elf in KDM-ISH cosplay. The Anonymous Artist, Ty (finally credited by SOMEONE here: https://1d4chan.org/wiki/Kingdom_Death) took the request and returned TWO images to Ekoi (https://yuki.la/tg/47286458). Somewhere, somehow, Ekoi shows one to Poots. On Jan 7th, Poots reveals the Anonymous Survivor promo. Ekoi spaces out, understandably. On Twitter, Ekoi was asked to credit the Anonymous Artist, and appears to have made a bare effort ( https://mobile.twitter.com/kingdomdeath/status/817914516264599552) and then scrubbed it. The second link is a dead end. A reddit thread looks also suspect, but I can't confirm. Now, after finding the original thread where Ekoi made the request, and the Anonymous Artist's reference to another board, I did further creeping and mining of the wayback machine. This artist has drawn a lot of fetishy stuff, and appears to frequently request that his work NOT be reposted. I understand why. His style is incredibly distinctive. I have no idea how Ekoi ever thought to even possibly pass off the difference in style and talent, especially after wading through Deviant Art. Eugh.

But it also looks like Ty was never even asked what he wanted. And that's low.
