You know the Persians won that one, right?

And the Mexicans won the Alamo. However, the point of neither battle was to win, but to delay. The Spartans (and others) delaying the Persians at Thermopylae allowed the rest of Greece the time they needed to organize and mobilize for war.
It was a tactical victory for the Persians, but a strategic victory for the Greeks.

Persians weren't mudslimes and didn't wear hijabs.
>Based fire-worshippers > moon-rock worshippers
So long as the state religion is Zoroastrianism I am all for it.

Eh, not really.
The Greeks didn't really delay the Persians that much in the strategic sense.
Also, compare the numbers given for Thermopylae and for Plataea, the troops lost at Thermopylae were a drop in the water.
I mean, don;t get me wrong, it was a brave sacrifice, but it didn't mean much in the long run, except maybe helping Sparta's reputation as badasses.
Now Salamis, that was where the real shit went down
WE WUZ SHAHANSHAHS AND SHIET!

Modern estimates put the Greek force at 7,000 and the Persian force at between 100,000 and 150,000. Modern estimates for Persian casualties are around 20,000. That's a pretty high number.
Thermopylae also delayed the Persians for seven days - there were three days of battle, but an additional four days of setting up camps and getting forces in position.
You're right that Salamis was probably the more important battle, but the impact of Thermopylae shouldn't be underestimated.

Which Persians do you want? I have quite a lot of pictures of Sassanids.
daily reminder we wuz iranians until arabs and turko mongols destroyed our cousins' genetic integrity

>the impact of Thermopylae shouldn't be underestimated
It had no impact whatsoever. With or without it, the war would get the exact same outcome. It's literally THE memiest of all battles ever in history. The only thing it achieved was cementing Sparta's reputation.
And ask how it worked for them when Thebes steam-rolled over them without much effort.
