If you mean, "how would you handle running it in a game," I'd do it by never identifying the unknown. The character experienced it, and the players know that, but we dot know what it was. I would describe to the player they're character's own emotions and reactions, and make every reference to the unknown itself as vague and foggy as the work implies.
