An avowed can gain that divine grace as part of their natural class progression, which is much more convenient than a two-level dip that delays their other class features.

Would you allow Eldritch Scion to stack with Hexcrafter and Blackblade?

One of my players wants to play a Halfling Magus with those three archetypes and I'm not sure if I should allow it since it seems that they don't stack RAW.

The thing is, almost everybody else at the table is a PoW initiator or near-full caster of some kind, and I don't think this'd be especially unbalanced in comparison.
>>
>>51957205
>4 levels deep into class you can get stat-to-saves

WOW. WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT. Does this mean if I go full Paladin I get-YEA, I DO! As part of the natural progression of my class! WOW! This is so broken!

Also, it is worth noting that the new Overcharge Modulation is *wholly insane* when paired with Hellfire Talent, which adds +1 damage per die at two damnation feats.

probably is. honestly , dont care too much to fix it right now.

The second statblock is probably more "balanced". THe first Statblock is for NPCs to bring the smack down on your party of optimizors

I do not know about you, but this:

>Mind and Matter (4th): Your pact has strengthened you, body, mind, and soul. You gain a bonus equal to your Charisma bonus (if any) on all saving throws. This does not stack with similarly untyped Charisma bonuses on saves (such as from a paladin's divine grace or the who help themselves clause).

Is certainly more useful than this:

>Filth Absorption (4th): As a standard action, you can absorb filth and detritus. You clean that area completely, consuming all disease, grime, food, and trash within 5 feet. This functions as a remove disease spell targeting all adjacent creatures (caster level equal to your avowed caster level) and a prestidigitation to clean the area. If you cure someone of a disease, you become infected with it. In addition, whenever you damage a creature with an aether pulse, you can infect them with one disease you carry to them. This works as if they had caught it normally, except its save DC is equal to your aether pulse save DC.

It is also arguably better than this:

>Fairy Ring (4th): As a move action, you may mark a square you occupy with a ring of mushrooms for a number of rounds equal to your avowed level. Once per round as a free action, you may return to that circle. This is a teleportation effect, and you may only have one Fairy Ring at a time. If you use this ability to make a new one, the older one withers and fades.
>>
>>51957072
That's stupidly overpowered just because you want to favor your 100% only-for-sexual-reasons race. Be ashamed.

>>51957131
Iomedae would not form healthy relationships, having the mind of a child (see: events of WotR, and that one prestige class that makes her out to be a vain piece of shit)
>>
>>51957224
Isn't Eldritch Scion a downgrade option anyway? Let it fly. Hexcrafter on Black Blade is the only thing powerful here and they don't really combine into anything dangerous so much as allow extra utility.
>>
>>51957174
Seriously? I finished up my app hours ago and you push this out? You're cruel, friend.
>>

So! Speaking of races, what are some that you like to play? What are some you would like to play, given the opportunity? Is there something you wish WAS a playable race?
>>

The fly on the wall lesser clause should stipulate that the scout's Fine-sized Stealth bonus applies; otherwise, it is hardly worth a lesser clause slot.

>>

Real talk, This is me goofing off. It's not a part of dragons. If it is, they're an NPC race. Or a race for a backup character after the main one dies horribly in the Mawagi Expanse looking for the Stone Heart of Akmaundi to make the Demesne a Flying Fortess
>>
>>51957418

>>
>>51957328

Well, I want to play them because they fit snug into my obsession with big burly bruisers, and this fits that to a T!

Oh, speaking of!

Hey! SwimmingEagle! I've got an idea on how the Draph could've came about in Golarion! Susurex, the Crystal King, is infamous in Osirion's Glazen Sheets as both a brutal dictator and an amoral researcher. He regularly employs enslaved humans to work the scorching crystal mines, maybe he created the Draph for the same reason the progenitor race in Granblue created them?

Pacts are intended to be balanced with each other as a whole as much as possible, even accounting for dips, rather than the abilities in a vacuum. Mind and Matter is a strong ability, yes. That said, as it's already available by taking two levels in Paladin or Antipaladin, we're not immensely concerned.

That said, Fairy Ring allows you to be out of reach of a lot of abilities that would FORCE a save, and Filth Absorption can do some very nasty things once you've picked up an appropriately debilitating disease. Mind and Matter is strong numerically, but gives you no additional options.

I think they want it because it keys the Magus off of CHA instead of INT to fit the Halfling racial bonuses better.

It does seem strictly worse since you can't use spellstrike unless you spend a pool point to be in mystic focus or whatever.

What if I just allowed Hexcrafter or Black Blade to key the class to CHA instead and say fuck Scion? Would that be broken, you think? I want all my players to feel impactful outside of raw numbers, which I know the Magus has in spades.
>>
>>51957637
Nah, Charisma is overall not as strong a stat. You might want to have them take a look at being a Small Tiefling though if the racial attributes are driving the race selection. It fits default Magus without alteration.

The part where that two-level paladin dip delays clause progression means that it is not *quite* as good a deal for an avowed. It has weighty alignment restrictions, it grants only a marginal BAB increase, and the smite is only once-per-day.

>That said, Fairy Ring allows you to be out of reach of a lot of abilities that would FORCE a save, and Filth Absorption can do some very nasty things once you've picked up an appropriately debilitating disease
Both of these also generally require much more finesse to use properly (free actions have to be taken on your turn, for instance), whereas the raw numerical increase will save you from everything from fear effects to confusions to stinking clouds.

It's a race of horned !notDwarves from Granblue Fantasy. The men are big and burly, and the women are short, voluptuous, and want to have your babies.

That unfortunate race of kitties in GW2 that exists because of an artist's hissy fit. Then again, females and males are both ugly as rocks and scary. Females just larger and shittier.
>>
>>51957768
There isn't actually any difference in the social roles and personality of the men and the women with Draph. They don't really have a society so they just all do their own thing.

>That unfortunate race of kitties in GW2 that exists because of an artist's hissy fit.

What, the Charr? I didn't know they were a result of that. I need story!
>>
>>51957833
It's been a long while, so take this with a grain of salt. But as I remember it, GW was pressing for a race of big burly male felines, and sex kittens female. Serious artist for the game went REEEE and "I need feminism because" And dug in. And because they were apparently hot shit, that's why Charr are god awful.

Also note, I'm salty and charr are awesome, I just would have also liked to have sex kittens.
>>
>>51957815
I was under the impression that male and female charr were about the same size. The artists's hissy fit was over how the females either needed no boobs or SIX.

They went with none.
>>
>>51957871
Expanding on that, they pushed artist to give the Charr breasts. Artist demanded that if that's the case, they have six of them down the stomach.

Okay, I'm glad there's instant interest but there is /one/ concern.

Which is that I've never actually GMed Pathfinder. I've done lots of other games, from the various 40K RPGs to lots of Shadowrun and oWoD, so crunchy systems and overpowered PCs don't bother me. So for the sake of running a good game, what should I brush up on?

>>51958167
Content, obviously. I sort of imagine it being a little Game of Thrones in terms of the T&A. A little sexposition here, a major character owning a brothel there.
>>
>>51958075
I think I prefer these sheets over everything I've used bar none, but they're not web forms or anything. If you have a Google Drive folder shared between your devices you'd have it there, though.

>>
>>51958191
>So for the sake of running a good game, what should I brush up on?

Assuming you know the ins and outs of the system?

Please please *please* gorge on the lore of the region and the basic snippets on the various major ethnicities. Putting those little touches can turn a serviceable game into a great game.
>>
>>51958138
The thing is, he said both races can fit the image (I have him over for a session-0 type deal) and that he could go both ways.
>>
>>51956414

I really cannot see fractured shadows being a final clause given that it staggers you. It should be a greater clause at most.

Likewise, into the night's shadow walk effect is too tame for a final clause; that could be a lesser clause, and it would not be out of place.
>>
>>51958213
I guess I also don't mind if people do ERP during side-sessions, if there's the odd mainstream fetish like prostitution, lesbians, genderbending and handholding between a boy and a girl. I probably won't be GMing lawful paladin dickings finishing off the arc bosses though.
>>
>>51958191
DMing isn't as bad as you'd think, not when you have an adventure path walking you through with stuff. You don't even need to be particularly great with system mastery, just understand the basics of all the relevant rulesets, any group that doesn't have someone in it that covers all the rules for them will never suffer for their ignorance.

As the other anon said, read up on the setting. Some useful books are Inner Sea Gods, The Worldwound, and Lost Kingdoms. I think they're all in the OP.

>>
>>51958232
Well, it's up to him what flavor he wants. We can tell you that Tiefling is an overall more powerful race, but it's not dramatically so.

It's also not a matter of true *outclassing* even if one is overall better. With a Charisma focus and a Cha-adapted Magus, he'd get a little different roleplaying opportunities (I forget if they have more than just Intimidate as Charisma-based class skills, but Use Magic Device is useful anyway), but far fewer skill points. The character would also have a very different personality, too, obviously.
>>
>>51958289
Unfortunately for you the shield-maiden has an average bust size and is very tall (6'4") and so feels like her chest size is underwhelming and is angsty about it. Especially next to the tittymonster bard.

Paladin hunks guaranteed 100%. Also come in half-orc and dwarven bearlet edition.

>Susurex, the self-styled Crystal King, is an adult blue dragon who has made the Glazen Sheets region in the Osirian Desert his solitary domain. Susurex has dedicated his life to researching the mysterious origins of the region. He established his lair in a crystalline formation as large as a castle that rises in the center of the Glazen Sheets. The dragon has enslaved hundreds of poor Yerbira and unsuspecting caravaneers, who now toil within and beneath the crystalline tower. Susurex's experiments aim to help him uncover the nature of Glazen Sheets. He believes that such knowledge would enable him to bring the whole of Osirion under his control, with the threat to apply the same process throughout the land.

>Lives in a giant-ass crystal archive full of failed experiments and research projects
>Is kind of blue
>Sounds like a huge asshole, and a bitch

I really, really want to make a character intimately connected with Susurex for Dragons 2 now, just so we have a chance to hunt him down and beat his pasty ass.

I usually just roll with baseline humans as well. Though looking back, a surprising number of them ended up fairly monstrous for one reason or another. For my next character, I might just skip the initial step and play a monster race. Haven't really thought enough about it to want a particular kind, though.

>The great wyrm red dragon Daralathyxl is with little doubt one of the most powerful dragons in all of Golarion. So powerful is he that he is known as the "Sixth King of the Mountains", a reference to the Five Kings Range where he has made his home on the border between Andoran and the dwarven controlled Five Kings Mountains. Daralathyxl has haunted this part of the world since 3001 AR and is estimated to be over 2,000 years old. While less and less active with each passing century, only a fool believes his power diminished. Whenever his inactivity causes rumours of his death, he seems to re-emerge, venting his fiery wrath across all of southern Avistan. Daralathyxl has rampaged across Andoran, Isger and Druma, and demands tribute in the form of virgin maidens (especially elven girls), mounds of coins, and priceless treasures. Those who have to placate this mighty dragon refer to him as "king", "emperor" or even "god", for he repays any slight with fire and death.

So we've got Seath *and* Smaug.

I've seen it done right! You just have to play a wild, bloodthirsty bitch, but the party are your packmates dammit and the four of you gotta stick together.

Doesn't even have to be that copout of "well, I make more money working with you guys" so many people do. The Chaotic Evil sticks around and plays by the rules because he or she genuinely enjoys the company of the party, and wants to stick around them.

More in a transhumanist sense, though acquiring power was certainly a motivation for some of them. The alchemist made himself into a monster because he believed that human souls shouldn't be limited by the natural evolution of human flesh. Though he ultimately concluded that his ideas of artificial apotheosis were flawed, and chose to let his research die with him, focusing instead on being a good doctor and adoptive father.

Let us see what we can do with the Hellfire Talent feat and the new Overcharge Modulation feat as a 5th-level avowed, shall we? Since the betrothed's damage output is still being revised, we will avoid the betrothed for now.

If I have committed any errors in this build, please let me know.

Level: 5th
Race: Penitent (Humble origins [+2 Dexterity and Intelligence], tempting visage)
Class: Avowed (any pact will do)

Key Ability Score: Dexterity 23 = base 18 + racial 2 + level advancement 1 + enhancement 2

Key Equipment: Belt of incredible dexterity +2 (4,000 gp)

Traits:
Combat: Reactionary
Race: Reborn (maenad)
Social: Student of Philosophy

Feats:
Penitent: Hellfire Talent
1st-level: Overcharge Modulation
Avowed 2: Fiendskin
3rd-level: Point Blank Shot
5th-level: Precise Shot

Shapes: Aether barrage ×3, one other shape depending on pact

Least Clauses: Lifeleech pulse, any four other least clauses

Initiative:
6 Dexterity modifier
+2 Reactionary
Total: +8

Aether Barrage Attacks:
1 attack from BAB
1 attack from aether barrage
Total Attacks: 2

Range: 100 feet + 50 feet from caster level = 150 feet

Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:
3 BAB
+6 Dexterity modifier
+1 Hellfire Talent
+1 Small size
Total: +11/+11, targets touch AC, ignores wind walls

Aether Barrage Damage:
3d8 betrothed aether pulse
+2d8 Overcharge Modulation
+6 Dexterity modifier
+5 Hellfire Talent
+2 maenad FCB
Total: 5d8+13 (average 35.5), ignores damage reduction

Initiative +8. The avowed launches two 150-foot ranged touch attacks at +11/+11. If both attacks are regular hits, that will result in an average of 71 damage, enough to kill a typical CR 6:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E2-s8weiulPoBQjdI05LBzOUToyoZIdSsLKxHAvf8F8/edit#gid=3

None of this takes any prep time or resource expenditures at all.
>>
>>51959323

Other highlights of the build include:
• Fiendskin: Given the right outsider, resist 5 cold and fire
• Four other least clauses, which can be like hidden knowledge (+6 bonus to all Knowledge checks and make them untrained), sightseer (see in all darkness perfectly and see invisiblity), or silver tongue (+6 bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks)
• Whatever the pact actually gives, including an attunement, a sense, a bonus shape, and a 4th-level empowerment

I am fairly sure thata 5th-level character killing a CR 6 with no prep time, no resource expenditures, and an extremely high success rate is fairly out-of-line, especially when that character still has an impressive amount of noncombat utility.

One thing to remember with any 2hu build is that the accuracy will generally be much higher than it would otherwise. The relevant stat is always absolutely maxed out + a +2 race + stat item as early as possible. Earlier builds of the avowed have all involved being a tiny insect using one of the clauses for the additional dex and +2 from size to the attack as well, for example.

This isn't in and of itself a bad thing but it has to be noted. 2hu's builds are generally at the ceiling of what one can achieve if ALL the choices are made towards that ability. 2hu's work is actually pretty useful IF you keep in mind that it's the far fringe extremes, and that things will likely never go further.

Alright. Thank you very much. The numbers will likely be brought down slightly due to the Hellfire Talent nerf, but it will likely not be enough to reduce the DPR significantly. As absolute high-end optimization goes, this is fairly close to the balance level we're aiming for.

I do not think it is particularly unreasonable to have Dexterity modifier +6 at 5th-level.

Starting with Dexterity 17 or 18 (on a class build that needs absolutely no score but Dexterity), placing level advancements in Dexterity, and wearing a belt of incredible dexterity +2 does not take that much effort.

It is not uncommon to see Unchained rogues do the exact same thing and have Dexterity modifier +6 by 5th-level.

Kinetic Knight and Blood Kineticist are the best 1pp kineticist archetypes. Kinetic Knight gives you a ton of free form infusions, heavy armor proficiency, and the ability to use a shield along with your kinetic blade. Blood kineticist turns you into a blood-bender.

But except for your attacks the class is generally charisma or strength(with feat) based. There are also many other items, it's not guaranteed at all that someone will pick, or even GET to obtain, a +2 stat item by level 5.

One thing I've been thinking though is that perhaps steel's betrayal is too big a change: it's a doubled deadly-aim. It's a very large bonus for a single feat, one that may be causing the rest of the class trouble due to the disparity in damage if one does not take it.

It is fully possible to avoid Charisma entirely as an avowed, so that one can concentrate on Dexterity, Constitution, and Intelligence instead.

A few quick examples: because a bad floor can easily be worse than a high ceiling:

A level 5 human avowed that put 16/16 in their DEX/CHA, and put their racial on CHA (because that's what the class is supposedly heavy on, and things like save DCs do use it as can some attunement effects) for an 18.

At level 5, Barrage III will net them 2 ranged touches of 3d8+4. Now this setup is what you can consider quite baseline. It LOOKS good to new players (3d8+4 twice), and hasn't touched the important stuff yet. For people that don't know how to optimize, given how it's still fairly early game, this would not be surprising.

Well that averages 35 if both hit. In fact if both attack roll all 7s for damage that's JUST under a CR5's 52 health total.

Now let's take a more reasonable veteran player approach. ONE of the two feats (not that they won't eventually get both, but we're level 5 here; it's very easy for people to have taken something else for a more rounded character early on).

Overcharge modulation at this level grants +2 dice. Both attacks are now 5d8+4. This sets the two attacks average damage at JUST enough (53 vs 52) to take down an equal CR's median HP.

Steel's Betrayal at this level instead grants -4 to hit and +8 to damage. 3d8+12. That's a little worse; 51 for both hits and with an accuracy penalty to boot; and not a small one either. With +3 dex, 3 BAB, maybe another +2 from other sources, that 8 would become a 4... even against touch AC that isn't great. Hell, Steel's betrayal was avoided in your example up there for a reason, right?

The hellfire feat; I'm okay with for the most part. It should be tempting, since it's basically damning your character. One of the biggest mistakes made in games where you can screw yourself is making "the dark side" weaker. The old Star Wars d20 game had that issue with dark side points, where except for a short specific level range where it was one more die, it was weaker than light side.
>>
>>51959817
Anecdotally I'm seein' it in all of 2hu's builds.
>>
Now that Hellfire Talent is to be downgraded as well, let us see what we can still do with the new Overcharge Modulation feat.

Level: 5th
Race: Tiefling (Small size, prehensile tail, scaled skin, underworld guide)
Class: Avowed (any pact will do)

Key Ability Score: Dexterity 23 = base 18 + racial 2 + level advancement 1 + enhancement 2

Key Equipment: Belt of incredible dexterity +2 (4,000 gp)

Traits:
Combat: Reactionary
Race: Reborn (maenad)
Social: Student of Philosophy

Feats:
1st-level: Overcharge Modulation
Avowed 2: Point Blank Shot
3rd-level: Precise Shot
5th-level: Merciful Pulse

Shapes: Aether barrage ×3, one other shape depending on pact

Least Clauses: Dusk pulse, any four other least clauses

Initiative:
6 Dexterity modifier
+2 underworld guide
+2 Reactionary
Total: +10

Aether Barrage Attacks:
1 attack from BAB
1 attack from aether barrage
Total Attacks: 2

Range: 100 feet + 70 feet from caster level = 170 feet

Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:
3 BAB
+6 Dexterity modifier
+1 Small size
Total: +10/+10, targets touch AC, ignores wind walls

Aether Barrage Damage:
4d8 aether pulse with Merciful Pulse
+2d8 Overcharge Modulation
+6 Dexterity modifier
+2 maenad FCB
Total: 6d8+8 (average 35), ignores damage reduction, can deal lethal or nonlethal damage, does not actually have to go through spell resistance due to Overcharge Modulation

Initiative +10. The avowed launches two 170-foot ranged touch attacks at +10/+10, probably against flat-footed enemies. If both attacks are regular hits, that will result in an average of 70 damage, enough to kill a typical CR 6 depending on hit points:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E2-s8weiulPoBQjdI05LBzOUToyoZIdSsLKxHAvf8F8/edit#gid=3

None of this takes any prep time or resource expenditures at all.
>>
>>51959905
*most
>>
>>51959918

Other highlights of the build include:
• Four other least clauses, which can be like hidden knowledge (+6 bonus to all Knowledge checks and make them untrained), sightseer (see in all darkness perfectly and see invisiblity), or silver tongue (+6 bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks)
• Whatever the pact actually gives, including an attunement, a sense, a bonus shape, and a 4th-level empowerment

This 5th-level character is still one-turn-killing CR 6s with pairs of attacks that hit on a natural 2+. The most optimal possible 5th-level archer inquisitor would be hard-pressed to do the same, even with a round of prep time and several resource expenditures.
>>
>>51959817
I wouldn't do something so crass as do more than worry if all I had was anecdotal.

It can add up to, what, -12 to hit and +24 to damage? Once your BAB and bonuses are high, for an RTA that's basically nothing, while early on it's a massive penalty (level 4-6 is probably the worst time to have it accuracy-wise I suspect).

So I'm thinking anyone with their heads screwed on tightly is going to avoid it like the plague early on because it makes them miss, and by level 12, the penalty's just an empty threat because you're still attacking touch.
>>
>>51959905
The one up there in this thread doesn't have it, but if you think about it, those +11s would become +7s at that level. Despite the increase in per-hit damage, suddenly going from hitting on 2+ to needing 5+ is quite the hit to your to-hit.
>>

One drastic rebalancing that might take a good deal of developer math is to revamp all touch attack aether pulses (including aether blows and shapes) into regular attacks instead, albeit with a higher damage output.

Balancing the damage output of touch attacks is incredibly difficult, and as others have pointed out, Steel's Betrayal only really affects your iterative attacks after a certain point.

Now that I think about it, these two should be swapped. At 3rd-level, +2d8 damage from Merciful Pulse synergizing with Overcharge Modulation is too good to pass up.

Here is Psionics Augmented: Psychic Warrior:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/kbzvu86mwfx5fok/Psionics%20Augmented%20-%20Psychic%20Warrior.pdf?dl=0

To be forthright, this is a rather boring product. It is missing the two actually interesting archetypes from the playtest, the pain sculptor and the silhouette.

All we are left with is the halo knight, the reaver, three paths, a disguise-based power that is not even on the psychic warrior list (I imagine it is for a reaver to poach?), three insultingly narrow psionic powers that only function on other animus-users.

Oh, and the layout of the PDF is permanently in a two-page spread. Forrest could stand to correct this.

This product is a disappointing disaster. Would anyone care to look it over for nonfunctional and/or ambiguous mechanics, like those present in Psionics Augmented: Psicrystals Expanded?

On the off-chance that you would like to legitimately purchase Psionics Augmented: Psychic Warrior regardless, you can wait until it appears on the Dreamscarred Press web store or DriveThruRPG. The former will give Dreamscarred Press the full cut of the sale.

Free exotic weapon proficiency isn't amazing, or rare for a race, or difficult to get as an item. A cracked Opalescent White Pyramid is 1,500gp for weapon familiarity, and if you're taking ANYTHING that has a Weapon Focus prerequisite, you need to get this item anyway for its joint effect with a Wayfinder (500gp) saving you an otherwise garbage feat slot. Comparatively to an EWP race or Tengu, a human would be upgrading from Exotic Weapon Proficiency to a feat that actually provides meaningful effect.

Is Dex to damage actually as powerful as we think of it being? Especially for Maguses? So my character concept for dragon two games can be summed up thusly:
>one of the few dwarven families living under the Queen's rule
>family is famous as vault builders and bankers
>character is the prodigal son of the family, prodigy locksmith
>by day he makes locks and vaults as Rokar Chapman, respected artisan
>by night he is the notorious bank robber Snap Iron

The plan is for him to be a Vigilante as one half of his character build, if approved it's going to be the Night Terror vigilante. However now I am struggling on the other half of the character. How do I support being the greatest safe cracker/safe maker to ever live? Currently I am thinking of possibly combining it with rogue.

In a pinch I might go Hidden Blade Rogue + Alchemical Scoundrel Vigilante, as it provides all the things I need out of vigilante and the material for Hidden Blade and Alchemical Scoundrel are already approved.

Now something I have having a hard time with is the original reason my character became a safe cracker/bank robber/hoard thief. He would have a longstanding friend who was a dragon who got him into the business years ago. He and the dragon have known each other since they were both kids, the dragon now in the Juvenile or Young Adult age category and the character in his 50s. The two of them would have made a career out of robbery to increase the younger dragon's hoard and line the dwarf's pockets. By day they are partners in the Dwarf's vault making/locksmith business, by night they are partners in crime.

Elemental humanoids live longer than normal humanoids. Max age being 200+6d% years.

What if I had an Elven Oread? Would he live proportionally longer than a human Oread? That would make sense, right?

>This is stressful to his psionic faculties, and initially it may only be used once per day. While his psionic halo is active, he can cause it to blaze with energy as a swift action once per day.
Wow, is it once per day or maybe once per day instead?

Or what about the Reaver being a Psychic Warrior x Cryptic with an Assassin bent but then gets a bunch of monk/ninja fucking proficiencies?

This is a damn travesty.

Yeah, ReviewAnon here. To be honest, any of those that weren't just laughably inept were actually pretty damn good.

I just focused on the weaknesses of each one including my own wherever I could find them because there was no point fixing what wasn't broke. The few mostly-good reviews I gave were just because I ended up genuinely impressed. I don't think I'm the cause of the higher standards here, most people were already trying their hardest.

Honestly it made me end up not posting my character to the game.

The profession, not the Archetype.

Anything else for us to work with?
Want Maneuvers? Warlord or Zealot, both cha based like the Vigilante
Want bonus Feats? Fighter, Ranger, Slayer.
Want Advanced Weapon /Armor mastery? Fighter.
Want Actual Sneak Attack? Slayer, Alchemist (Vivisectionist), U. Rogue

Anything that gives us an idea of what Kind of combo you want.
>>
>>51961691
Vital Punishment, Upclose and Personal, and Leave an Opening are the talents I want to build around.

Sneak attacks don't work with Hidden Strike do they?
>>
>>51961674
Well the profession doesn't require a lot from a class, but it really would be either the Investigator, some form of Bard archetype, or a Rogue. What they bring to each of these is kind of minimal (best I can say is +Dex for Unchained Rogue is good even if the Con penalty works against it ultimately), but I wouldn't really call them bad at any of them. The free proficiencies in all swords is nice for the classes at least, since none of them even have full martial weapon proficiency by default.
>>
>>51961691
"Actual Sneak Attack" from Slayer is minimal at the best of times. I don't understand how people think it's a selling point of the class, it's barely relevant at all.

>23 apps for Dragon 2!
Well, if I never had a chance before, I certainly don't have one now.
>>
What bloodline would represent a descendent of qlippoth best for a sorcerer? Abyssal seemed like the obvious choice, but it's kind of weird since the Qlippoth hate demons. Impossible maybe?
>>
>>51961912
A lot of those are just "here's a placeholder, I'll apply for real when I feel like it."

You've got plenty of chances.
>>
>>51961967
Aberrant would probably fit better, maybe more so if it's crossblooded with Abyssal, but you should never do that except for flavor.
>>
>>51961707
I'm not sure what I could suggest for you to get the most of of a Vital Strike build, maybe fighter is the best choice so you don't get stuck with situations Vital Strikw isn't the best.
Also, Sneak Attack stacks with Hidden Strike. In the chance you decide to gestalt with something that has it.
>>
>>51961989
And more than six are "All done, ready to go."
>>
>>51961642
Good. If you are put off so easily from applying you're that much more likely to flake.
>>
>>51960660
The previous set of apps (for dragon 1) was of similar allure. Most were humanoid bipeds "with dragon blood" (and even then not always on that last part).

But you'll note WHO got picked instead.
4 are outright dragons, one's a kobold, only one's a human-ish thing.
>>
>>51962014
How many places are there?

How many apps do you have to beat?

Can you look at the complete apps and say "yeah, I can do better than THAT rubbish"?
>>
>>51962041
I also liked how he complained that the Dragon 1 team is mostly casters, when he's the one who picked them!
>>
>>51962037
Or maybe you're just an assuming faggot?
>>
>>51962071
That is indeed an odd complaint.
>>
>>51962014
When there's at least a 20% chance of you getting in, you should still write an application if you want to get in on the game.

And remember, some people will drop out, some will just be grossly incompetent, and some will never actually finish their application. You'll still have some wiggle room, even when there's over 30 applications.
>>
>>51962071
On the one hand, that's what's going to happen when you pick most of them based on weeaboo archetypes and fetishes.

On the other, this, like FotJR getting hit with the Shayliss scene while SotJR ended up diving straight into a combat zone, seems to be a case of a GM realizing their mistakes and taking steps to do better next time.
>>
>>51962091
And if X-Com has taught me anything, it's that a 95% chance to hit will miss 100% of the time.
>>
>>51962116
Not all people--even GMs--are as hateful as the XCom RNG.
>>
>>51962116
That's quitter's talk.

Seriously, do you only apply to a game if literally nobody else has shown interest in it, or something?

How do I get my DM to stop being such a cunt about this? I just want to be an alien badass.

Easy.
Instead of "3 mooks and one boss" style that we often see in "normal" encounters, you instead want something like "6 lieutenants".

The WORST you can do is the PFS standard format, where one bipedal humanoid doing perhaps one action per turn is facing off against the entire party (keep in mind that's how crane wing's one-attack-blocking got called OP). Everyone in the party is likely to have at least A way per encounter of negating an attack, and 2/3 of PoW characters are built to absolutely demolish a single target.

So what you want is for some of that firepower to be wasted in overkills on 'less' important characters. But you can't just make ONLY redshirts; there's bound to be one (possibly ranged) character who'll specialize in dealing with this. A bunch of Half-the-party's-CR critters are going to stop existing the moment the longbow or gunner guy says "I use silver crane spiral".

So, get a bunch of "lt's". 4-5 CR-1s instead of one CR+1, and so on. Feel free to go for larger more interesting fights; the party can handle a decent amount as the "per day" vancian limitation is instead changed to "per encounter" here. They CAN go all out and take out half or more of their resources in a single fight and still be up for 2-3 more.

Remember; when people say "they can handle higher CR", that's not necessarily a bad thing. It DOES mean for example that the party of heroes can deal with dragons and the like well before half the party would reach the level at which they simply NEGATE THE FUCKING ADVENTURE with their spells!

Hey, maybe she's into the Rape scene. You never know.
>>
>>51962072
No, he's making a judgement based on you being too afraid of rejection to even try. If the DM pulls you aside and tells you 'you're doing X wrong' whose to say you won't give up because someone told you 'no' in paragraph form?
>>
>>51961532

Hey, anon.

What's your power level? Mine's pretty big.
