Reposting from >>51932400 because it came in just a second too late:

So.

Thinking I might retool a character I once submitted to dragon game (the first time around) as basically a demesne-dwelling bancho--complete with the outfit.

I've got most of what I want in mind already (including plenty of skill points in stuff like sewing and cooking to contrast with the tough guy image), but what say you on this, /pfg/?

Should this draconic delinquent be a man or a woman?

Can someone good with spheres tell me if the Nimbus Focus drawback actually requires you to take a Nimbus talent with the talent it grants? Because it just says you can't take any Nimbus talents EXCEPT with the talent granted by the drawback, but not that the talent it grants must be a Nimbus Talent. Is that just a typo on the Spheres Wiki and the RAI is what I think it's supposed to be?

Reposting to prevent rusecruises from setting sail.

Hello! News from WotR GM(RgPl).

He will not posting his results on /pfg/. He will posting his selections on roll20, and anything that appears on here is likely false.

"[14:18] <~RgPl> I won't be posting any selections onto /pfg/, just roll20
[14:18] <~RgPl> When people drop their selections into thread it just gets turned into a shitstorm"

In the meantime, happy waiting and good luck to all applicants!

Being disqualified due to an incompatible schedule is probably the most painful way to get rejected. This is why its often ideal for the GM to decide the schedule in advance.

Been making some vague attempts at getting some kind of character design down for my Dragons 2 submission. It's really loose, sketchy and lacking a lot of detail but here's what I've got so far.

I'm thinking I might make her build a little more athletic looking, while I'm a huge fan of the whole 'delicate frame hiding retarded amounts of strength' thing I'm sure everyone can appreciate a slightly more toned frame. If this gets through I'm rather looking forward to updating this design as she works towards her goals of becoming the huge dragon queen that she longs to be.

> posted this in last thread but reposting just one time for a second opinion

I've just unleashed a plague in the city where the characters live. One of them owns a tavern and the others kinda revolve around it, either working there or performing there or hanging out in the street nearby... they all have some link to it. So they've been fighting a cult which has now just unleashed a weaponized super-charged plague onto the city. Now, I want this plague to be actually deadly. Not the stupid-ass diseases in Pathfinder, like the zombie plague in the bestiary that I figured out only has like a 1 in 1000 chance of killing a commoner. I want this plague to be basically Ebola or the Black Plague. It will wipe out the city if not stopped and might even kill a PC or two. I want it to be cold and cruel and really fuck up the PCs.

So here's what I have so far:

>Caster level check against DC 20 is required for cure disease to work on a victim.
>Incubation 3 days, frequency 1 per day for saves

I set the Fortitude DC at 18 but might raise it to 20. For a commoner with a +0 Fort save, though, that cuts the chance of survival to one third of what it was before, though. Two consecutive saves to cure the disease. Considered 3 but that felt almost too frustrating. And it deals Con and Str damage. My biggest question is, how much of each should it deal? At first I felt like going big for 1d6. But that might way too much. I am currently thinking 1d4. I know that's big for disease but keep in mind I seriously want to risk this disease killing a party member. Like a 50% chance that at least one of the six PCs will die. They are 4th level so decent saves. So maybe 1d4+1? is that "legal"? I dunno.

What do you guys think? I really want disease to be a real danger for once, not just some annoying inconvenience.
>>
>>51933288
Even better. Upgrade the dozens to hundreds as the party are easy and extremely rich marks. Teach that the meaning of "didn't plan ahead".
>>
>>51933118
You ever read The Lies of Locke Lamora?

The street kids are thieves, but very trained and theatrical thieves. They've come to believe that adventurers who walk into town make great marks, not knowing the place, carrying treasures, and often not checking their pockets until they're back on the road. The kids run an elaborate con, faking a side quest for the adventurer's to take which is just an elaborate distraction while they pilfer their goods.
>>
>>51933372
>The Lies of Locke Lamora
and the following 2 books...

and that might be a bit complicated for the group, it's almost exclusively newbies

>>51933370
>extremely rich marks
nope, poor as dirt.
that was my intention.

>>51933285
perhaps yes this...
>>
>>51933353
1 in 1000 chance for a zombie plague to kill a commoner? It takes 5 to 10 days to kill a commoner, and a commoner has to roll 11+ on a fort save twice in a row to be cured. There isn't a 999 out of 1000 chance that in a sample size of 10 you will roll 11+ twice consecutively.

First game was okay, nothing actually felt like it got done. Mostly disappointed in myself for my own lack of initiative due to bad habits.

Second game had a few bumps, but we're rapidly approaching the end of a book and the halfway mark of the AP. I'm most excited for what'll happen between books, considering I'm "the crafting guy" and will need to get with the other players/the GM to dole out loot, divide up my downtime for crafting, and keep another player from killing my character's newly awakened "daughter", which are all going to be very fun and not at all headache inducing. I suppose there's also the small matter of trying to bug the GM about trying to fix the smoking remains of the homebrew he had me set up for myself, but I'm taking it one step at a time.
Game #3 has unfortunately been dead for weeks, and a "Bonus Oneshot" someone proposed to me hasn't panned out.
>>

So guys: doing an E. scion and War Kineticist+ Roil dancer/kinetic knight x Fighter gestalt. I have thrashing dragon, Mithral Current, and elemental flux. I'm thinking of combining M. current and T. dragon because Im planning on TWFing with an actual sword and a kinetic blade.

The build is a STR/CON, heavy armor wearing guy. I know I need Prodigious TWF to qualify for the TWF Feats, but what else do I need?

From what we have heard from the avowed's two writers, a few things are on the metaphorical chopping block, ready to be downgraded: the nation pact's 4th-level empowerment, some facets of the self pact, aether channel's second purchase, and the Overcharge Modulation feat.

Let us see what can be done with a 5th-level avowed at the moment. One set of options I had overlooked earlier is the Avowed 1 PDF's maenad FCB, and the Avowed 2 playtest's new penitent race and damnation feats; I will be using those in this build.

If I have committed any errors in this build, please point such out.

Level: 5th
Race: Penitent (Humble origins [+2 Dexterity and Intelligence], tempting visage)
Class: Avowed (undead [lich] pact, betrothed); note that the lich pact betrothed empowerments have yet to be written, but we do not need any for this build

Betrothed Key Ability Score: Dexterity 23 = base 18 + racial 2 + level advancement 1 + enhancement 2
Companion Key Ability Score: Dexterity 21 = base 16 + form 2 + level advancement 1 + enhancement 2

Key Equipment: Belt of incredible dexterity +2 (4,000 gp each) ×2

Traits:
Combat: Reactionary
Race: Reborn (maenad)
Social: Student of Philosophy

Betrothed Feats:
Penitent: Hellfire Talent
1st-level: Fiendskin
Avowed 2: Soldier of Misfortune
3rd-level: Point Blank Shot
5th-level: Precise Shot

Companion Feats:
1st-level: Hellfire Talent
3rd-level: Fiendskin
5th-level: Soldier of Misfortune

Shapes: Aether barrage ×4, shared by the companion

Least Clauses: Any five, shared by the companion

Initiative:
6 Dexterity modifier
+2 Reactionary
Total: +8, and the companion acts on the betrothed's initiative count

Aether Barrage Attacks:
1 attack from BAB
1 attack from aether barrage's second purchase
Total Attacks: 2

Range: 100 feet + 50 feet from caster level = 130 feet

Betrothed Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:
3 BAB
+6 Dexterity modifier
+2 Hellfire Talent
+1 Small size
Total: +12/+12, targets touch AC
>>
>>51933488
Magic helmets are magic, regular helmets don't provide any mechanical benefit so I just say they're not wearing a looted helmet but suffer no actual penalty.
>>
>>51933610

Betrothed Aether Barrage Damage:
3d4 betrothed aether pulse
+6 Dexterity modifier
+3 Hellfire Talent
+2 maenad FCB
Total: 3d4+11 (average 18.5)

Companion Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:
3 BAB
+5 Dexterity modifier
+2 Hellfire Talent
+1 Small size
+1 aetheric strikes
Total: +12/+12, targets touch AC

Betrothed Aether Barrage Damage:
3d4 companion aether pulse
+5 Dexterity modifier
+3 Hellfire Talent
+1 aetheric strikes
Total: 3d4+9 (average 16.5)

Initiative +8. The betrothed and their companion act on the same initiative account and launch four 150-foot ranged touch attacks at +12/+12/+12/+12. Sadly, the companion lacks Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot, but the attacks will probably land regardless. If all four attacks are regular hits, that will result in an average of 70 damage, enough to kill a typical CR 6:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E2-s8weiulPoBQjdI05LBzOUToyoZIdSsLKxHAvf8F8/edit#gid=3

None of this takes any prep time or resource expenditures at all.

Other highlights of the build include:
• Fiendskin: Given the right outsider, resist 5 cold, resist 5 electricity, and fire immunity
• Soldier of Misfortune: 20 rounds of fast healing 1 each day, permanent immunity to possession and mental control from good creatures or objects, damage reduction 5/cold iron and magic *or* damage reduction 5/magic and silver.
• Five least clauses, which can be like hidden knowledge (+6 bonus to all Knowledge checks and make them untrained), sightseer (see in all darkness perfectly and see invisiblity), or silver tongue (+6 bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks)

The avowed is still looking to be quite an outlier amongst tier 3 classes thanks to this damage stacking. Can any other 5th-level characters kill an average CR 6 so easily, with no prep time and no resource expenditures, while having the same utility as the avowed and all their clauses?

Basically you cut your blast damage in half to give that half to a very very light eidolon that gains your clauses and the two of you adventure together. It takes a lot of the clauses you get and makes them require that the two of you work together to use them, or that if you use A then your betrothed can only use A this turn, and vice versa.
It's the waifu archetype.

Technically the whole "sheathed" thing just means "weapon is held in a non-threatening way." Like a spear with the tip in the ground, a man with his hands in his pockets, a bow with the string not drawn, or, yes, a sword in its sheath. How well the mechanics match up to the fluff is another discussion. Anyways, I'm thinking of using M. current primarily for the counters, with thrashing dragon being the main source of damage. I'll have it fluffed very specifically- the guy having two different forms for his kinetic blade: a parrying form like a parrying dagger, and an offense form like a saber that he uses to TWF. How does that sound?

>>51933655

You're forgetting to account for the fact that said character is Damned twicefold (even with Pentient granting a free [Damnation] feat), meaning that said character is very much in-danger of getting killed and unable to return without effort, alongside enforcing an alignment change that might not be enjoyed by the player. Same, although part of the plan is for her to become larger as the game progresses and grow up from being the tiny dragon girl to thicc dragon queen. Of course, that is also my fetish so it's kind of a win win for me.

Though considering I'm competing with characters like sexy female Gilgamesh I'm not sure that's going to end up happening.
>>
>>51933963

>said character is very much in-danger of getting killed and unable to return without effort
The benefits of Fiendskin and Soldier of Fortune help the character not get killed in the first place. Never mind that the character has maxed-out Dexterity, Small size, and another body on the field to take hits.

How often do your characters get killed that "This character cannot be resurrected short of a true resurrection" is an actual drawback? Never mind that, from a pragmatic perspective, it simply means that the character's arc has ended, and it is time to field a new character.

>enforcing an alignment change
Funnily enough, there is absolutely nothing stopping you from undoing the alignment change. There is no "And the character can never become good-aligned ever again" stipulation. Even if there was, "The character cannot be good-aligned" is one of the shoddiest balancing factors possible.

Direct children of the Queen can have sex with each other and produce children with absolutely no ill effects. Her highly mutated form sort of acts as a genetic randomizer. Her own genes don't even factor into the equation, she just gives them what fits at the time. So if its a dragon, The queen can give birth to it. It could even be completely different than the conceiving father, though that's a bit rare.

Its when you get into subsequent generations when things get scary.

Here is a 9th-level version of the build. Even without Overcharge Modulation, it can still one-turn-kill an average CR 16 monster with a very high success rate, which is absolutely insane.

Level: 9th
Race: Penitent (Humble origins [+2 Dexterity and Intelligence], tempting visage)
Class: Avowed (undead [lich] pact, betrothed); note that the lich pact betrothed empowerments have yet to be written, but we do not need any for this build

Betrothed Key Ability Score: Dexterity 30 = base 18 + racial 2 + level advancement 2 + enhancement 4 + Tiny vermin 4
Companion Key Ability Score: Dexterity 26 = base 16 + form 2 + level advancement 2 + enhancement from resonance 2 + Tiny vermin 4

Key Equipment: Belt of incredible dexterity +4 (16,000 gp), cracked pale green prism ioun stone (4,000 gp each) ×2

Traits:
Combat: Reactionary
Race: Reborn (maenad)
Social: Student of Philosophy

Betrothed Feats:
Penitent: Hellfire Talent
1st-level: Fiendskin
Avowed 2: Soldier of Misfortune
3rd-level: Point Blank Shot
5th-level: Precise Shot
7th-level: Steel's Betrayal
9th-level: Improved Initiative

Companion Feats:
1st-level: Hellfire Talent
3rd-level: Fiendskin
5th-level: Soldier of Misfortune
7th-level: Weapon Focus (aether pulse)
9th-level: Steel's Betrayal

Shapes: Aether barrage ×4, aether cascade, aether retaliation; shared by the companion

Least Clauses: Any three, shared by the companion
Lesser Clauses: Insectile transformation plus any other five, shared by the companion

Initiative:
10 Dexterity modifier
+2 Reactionary
+4 Improved Initiative
Total: +16, and the companion acts on the betrothed's initiative count

Aether Barrage Attacks:
2 attack from BAB
1 attack from aether barrage's second purchase
Total Attacks: 3

Range: 100 feet + 90 feet from caster level = 190 feet

Betrothed Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:

+10 Dexterity modifier
+2 Hellfire Talent
+2 Tiny size
+1 cracked pale green prism ioun stone
-6 Steel's Betrayal
Total: +15/+15/+10, targets touch AC, ignores miss chances

Betrothed Aether Barrage Damage:
5d4 betrothed aether pulse
+10 Dexterity modifier
+5 Hellfire Talent
+4 maenad FCB
+12 Steel's Betrayal
Total: 5d4+31 (average 43.5)

Companion Aether Barrage Attack Bonus:
6 BAB
+8 Dexterity modifier
+2 Hellfire Talent
+2 Tiny size
+1 cracked pale green prism ioun stone
+2 aetheric strikes
+1 Weapon Focus
-6 Steel's Betrayal
Total: +16/+16/+11, targets touch AC, ignores miss chances

Betrothed Aether Barrage Damage:
5d4 companion aether pulse
+8 Dexterity modifier
+5 Hellfire Talent
+2 aetheric strikes
+12 Steel's Betrayal
Total: 5d4+27 (average 39.5)

Initiative +16. The betrothed and their companion act on the same initiative account and launch six 190-foot ranged touch attacks at +15/+15/+10/+16/+16/+11, ignoring miss chances. Sadly, the companion still lacks Point Blank Shot and Precise Shot, but again, the attacks will probably land regardless. If all six attacks are regular hits, that will result in an average of 249 damage, enough to kill a typical CR 16:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1E2-s8weiulPoBQjdI05LBzOUToyoZIdSsLKxHAvf8F8/edit#gid=3

I do not know about you, but considering that none of this takes any prep time or resource expenditures, it is remarkable for such a 9th-level non-full-spellcaster to be slaying a CR 16 with no hassle at all.
>>
So I have removed the outer planes from my setting. Previously I talked on here about my dwarves, trolls, goblinoids, and dragons. Also about the fact that instead of having normal outsiders I have 9 different kinds of native outsider, one for each alignment type.

Now I sort of want to talk about religion in the setting.

Spirit and Saint worship is where the vast majority of clerics get their power. It is extremely uncommon for a cleric to be powered by the main deity of a religion, and the whole world has only 3 real major religions. However different sects, cults, etc. of religions can worship the same god with different alignments and domains, sort of aspects along the same theme.

Saints, spirits, etc. form pantheons of demigods most clerics draw power from.

The main religion that has a monotheistic deity has 100 some odd saints, a dozen avatars, dozens of dedicated term used to describe natural spirit/concept/personification in service to the god and more that you can draw power from. Most of them honestly just have their name/domains/alignment rather than a full blurb.

How would you feel about this as a player?
>>
>>51934889

Other highlights of the build include:
• Fiendskin: Given the right outsider, resist 5 cold, resist 5 electricity, and fire immunity
• Soldier of Misfortune: 20 rounds of fast healing 1 each day, permanent immunity to possession and mental control from good creatures or objects, damage reduction 5/cold iron and magic *or* damage reduction 5/magic and silver.
• Three least clauses, which can be like hidden knowledge (+6 bonus to all Knowledge checks and make them untrained), sightseer (see in all darkness perfectly and see invisiblity), or silver tongue (+6 bonus to Bluff, Diplomacy, and Intimidate checks)
• Five other lesser clauses, which can be like airspace control (permanent concealment and aura of difficult terrain even for fliers) or fade from sight (at-will invisibility).

Can any other 9th-level non-full-spellcasters kill an average CR 16 so easily, with no prep time and no resource expenditures, while having the same utility as the avowed and all their clauses? I am sure there are some builds, but what does it take to accomplish such a thing within, say, Paizo's means?

You shouldn't be able to have all four selections in the same shape at level 5.

Why not? The lich pact grants aether barrage as a bonus shape.

>I'm fairly sure both you and your companion need to spend a feat on silent recitation since you can't provide the verbal components for aether pulse in vermin form.

I would not know off-hand how the rules for verbal components in polymorphed forms work, but if this is indeed the case, then Improved Initiative on the betrothed and Weapon Focus on the companion are dropped in favor of Silent Recitation.

It hardly makes a difference.

>>51934976

From what I had heard, betrothed are to receive subpacts soon.

>Aspirants, betrothed, and other characters who replace parts or all of their pact abilities can still take a subpact. This is applied before the exchanges of the archetype; for example, an aspirant with the undead pact could choose the lich subpact. If they did, they would gain a different selection of bonus shapes from their pact, but would otherwise be a normal undead aspirant (because the aspirant archetype replaces the pact’s normal pact empowerments).
>>
>>51935005
It doesn't work whatsoever; subpacts are basically archetypes, and the fact that it changes a Pact Empowerment you're no longer receiving means that it doesn't stack. Ergo, Lich Subpact can't work with Betrothed or Aspirant Avowed.

Not without mythic stuff.

Coupled Arcana makes for some very destructive pool+mage strike combinations, where you can do 16d6 elemental damage that has no save attached. Combine it with impact weapon and Brilliant Energy, and then use it during spell combat to add on a maxmimized spell (or two with quicken).

Magus don't have much broken in them, but their use of action economy is really hard to beat.

>>51934733
Hmm, Well the Cha restriction is a bit rough for you, especially if you want to spellstrike and have magic fists. You already said you didn't want Eldritch Scion, so really that's it for the Magus options (especially since Esoteric, the unarmed magus, sucks)

Eldritch Scrapper archetype for Sorcerer might help, but not much and still won't let you spell strike.

Sadly, it seems what might be your best option is to instead get NJolly's Legendary Kineticist and apply the blasts to your fists. Plus it might even be compatible with his one Dragon archetype as well

It seems that the 9th-level version of the build can avoid having to take Silent Recitation by using this item:

Thus, the only changes necessary for both builds are correcting the shape selection, and possibly choosing a pact other than the lich pact.

To follow up on this, the dragon pact might be most ideal here.

>Draconic Concert (4th): Whenever you use a clause with the betrothed descriptor, that clause and the first non-betrothed clause cast by you or your companion before the end of your next turn gains one of the following benefits. Alternatively, you can focus as a standard action to gain one of these benefits with a clause that is currently affecting you (such as a permanent clause).

>All numeric measurements of a burst, emanation, or spread-shaped clause are increased by 100%.
>A clause that creates a number of 10-foot cubes creates twice as many cubes as normal.
>Creatures affected by the clause lose immunity to mind-affecting effects for one round.
>The next skill check you make within before the end of your next turn gains double the bonus normally granted by the clause.
>Creatures making saving throws against clauses enhanced in this way must roll twice on their saves, using the lower result.

Option #4 is the most valuable here, because it means you can gain another +6 to a Knowledge check from the hidden knowledge least clause, or pump another +6 into Bluff, Diplomacy, or Intimidate via the silver tongue least clause.

Outside of protecting Thuvia's one city state they have no interest in defending humanity from the servitors of the gods.

Besides, the VAAAAST majority of Thuvia is desert, a desert they and Rahadoum share, divs are just as much a problem for the defenders of the first law as it is for alchemists with no sense of right or wrong.

Hey question, 2hu. Why do you always write your posts with a tone of "why is this allowed" or "does anyone know of any way to beat this," when you know for a fact that the result of your build will be them looking at and nerfing the thing you're optimizing, since you revealed a problem?

Like, I don't understand. Why are you so /aggressive/ about it, instead of going "hey this does too much damage, and here's how."

What's a good thing to gestalt with Empiricist Investigator? I like avowed, but it seems like it'd be way too MAD unless I went self pact int/str which doesn't work for the character for thematic and game-related reasons.

The character is a battle bureaucrat heavily inspired by the short of shenanigans that went on in the Three Kingdoms period of China. 3pp is allowed. I would prefer a martial focus over a casting focus.

Quick question.

One of my players is playing a Warder and ended up spending a Trait to learn Unquiet Grave Style.

Using Extended Defense, he can use Chilling Grave Defense an unlimited number of times until the end of his turn.

https://pathminder.github.io/maneuvers/chilling-grave-defense/

The penalties stack, right? So if the opponent makes three attacks, he could give them a -12 Str/-12 Dex, correct?
>>
>>51935937
...

I'd have to refluff a lot but that's actually really close to the sort of things I'd want. Wew.
>>
>>51935979
Penalties from the same source don't stack with themselves.
>>
>>51935158

SCORPION.

No seriously. I had an old dapper elven S.O.D. necromancer who had his scorpion familiar hide under his top hat, and whenever he he raised his hat to be polite the scorpion did as well with a miniature top hat. It was pretty much the best thing ever.

Also the top hat had portholes so the scorpion could shoot wands through them, but that's just icing on the cake.

Writer here again. Betrothed's damage numbers are presently, across the board, far too high - in part because we didn't account for additional sources of damage beyond basic aether pulse dice. Oops.

That said, we're working on finding a solution to this that maintains the Betrothed's class fantasy. We'll get back to you when we have more details.
>>
>>51935995
That's what I thought, but the player was saying it was from separate activations, so he was saying it shouldn't count as "the same source." I'm relatively new to Pathfinder but that sounded somewhat fishy to me. Thanks!

As a follow up, would Scything Reaper Reposte work the same way, where it can only inflict the 2-8 negative levels one time, or would he theoretically be able to drain a dragon to death in one round with this counter and Extended defense, if it made a full, 6 attack routine against him?

https://pathminder.github.io/maneuvers/scything-reaper-riposte/

He's been talking about how he can't wait to do that and I'm curious if that's as much bull as his earlier thing was.

My weekend games were great, but every session I have nowadays makes me think. I'm job searching and I know there's a high chance that my games won't survive me getting a job. That's okay, can't have everything and there's always other games, but it puts a damper on each session knowing it might be one of the last for these games that I've invested so much of my time and personal energy into.

Then there's the actual situation of my job searching, I'm in a place where I need to decide between continuing to look for a decent job in my field or just sucking it up and taking a local factory job I've got a good chance of snagging thanks to a couple friends I know on the inside but then not being able to leave that place without making my friends look bad for recommending me in the near future if I eventually do find good work in my field. I got bills to pay but I know that every year that goes by my college degree gets less valuable to potential employers and I don't know if I'm ready to accept that those years of my life and several tens of thousands of dollars could just be wasted.

How many spells?
All the spells.
28 recorded so far and have an easy 30 to go, and that's not even including shit from scrolls and leveling. Honestly I'd normally just say 'lol Wild Arcana I'll just ling the SRD', but the GM checks everyone's shit. Pretty glad that we have a two week break right now though. I guess this is the price to pay when playing a demigod, but I dunno if I would want to play a Wizard again after this.

Oh nooo.

Well, it makes sense, but I hope it doesn't somehow hit builds that weren't doubling up on stat-to-damage shapes on both the betrothed and companion - which would in turn almost make it necessary to do that instead, just to keep up with the base class.

>>51936735
I can accept that pretty easily, so the problem isn't really with having to drop my games. The idea of losing my games is a disappointing thought but you gotta man up and do what needs to be done.

The bigger problem for me is just deciding which way forward to go in my job search, which isn't really anything topical to /pfg/ but the issue I just outlined about my games still kind of hangs over me and distracts me from trying to make that very important and possibly life-altering decision.

Real life and adulting is hard, basically, and it's just been on my mind a lot lately.

>>
>>51936649
It WILL hurt those builds, because those are the biggest problem at the moment. The intention is to actually bring it down to make it more in-line with the difference a non-archetyped Avowed would see when using such a shape.

>>51936696
We don't actually want the Betrothed to be more powerful than a standard Avowed. It's meant to be an alternate playstyle, not a STRONGER one.
>>
>>51936821
Those were cut ages ago, I thought you meant stuff got cut from the final version of the playtest to the actual book release.
>>
>>51936957
I think you misread:
I was saying I hope it doesn't hurt builds where
-The Betrothed is using a stat-to-damage shape
-The companion is using a shape WITHOUT stat to damage

Or alternately, builds where they both use shapes without stat to damage.
Because then if it hurts those builds, it pushes Betrothed much more towards both using stat-to-damage shapes to keep up with the base class.

>your character's mother. Your character does have a mother, right?

His biological mother was an Ekujae warrior who went on a great pilgrimage to find this "Treerazer" and give him a bad time or die trying. Somewhere along the way she fell in with the wrong crowd and ended up with child by a brave and selfless woodsman who was fighting the good fight against the tyrannical Lumber Consortium in Andoran. The father got fucking murdered in the woods, and our aspiring demon slayer abandoned the child to be picked up by a traveling peddler, and continued onwards to Kyonin.
My character knows none of this, knows nothing about her, and has never met her. All he has of his biological family is the bone charm necklace his mother left with him as an infant.

Artemy is the one that surprised me the most since I thought, and I saw other people mention that he seemed like a weak app, but he covers a lot of space that the other five don't. With all six together he fits in really nicely.

Any time this weapon reduces a living creature to 0 or less health, the subject must make a DC 18 Fort save or be instantly killed. If killed like this or with a coup de grace the creature will be revived as an undead with the zombie template under the control of Frostmouner's wielder.

,Frostmourne can blast an area with frost, functioning as Firebal (DC 18l) 10d6 but with cold damage instead of fire. Yoi can use this every 1d4 rounds

Once per day Frostmourne can summon an adult white dragon with the ravener template under his command for 10 rounds, at the end which the dragon will use it's frost breath ability whether or not it can use it that round.

There's plenty of super strong combatants. I'm fine with being the guy who can always be relied upon to deliver a spike of concentrated damage, while otherwise being vanished, and who can perform in most situations, and has a big bucket of skills.

I did a few sample builds, looked at the to-hit and damage, and it looked alright, but I'm not really great at optimization.

Speaking of, /pfg/, which class is best at controlling gravity?

a Void Jollykineticist.

Giotto

if 1pp, then Heavens Oracle and Void Wizard might work.

If 3pp, a Spherecaster with the Gravity Talents from the Telekinesis handbook

How would you build a spellcaster that uses an assortment of scrolls fluffed as a deck of cards to summon monsters?
>>
>>51939050
Aren't there already a few dozen options that involve using cards and magic? Like a magus or something?

Kabutomushi.

>>51939050
You don't even need the scrolls if you refluff Summoner.

The magus one is more focused on direct damage, rather than summons or support.

Man, season 0 was way better than the card game nonsense.

What you need is a class that let's you make attacks against the enemy with their own stats and the ability to do CHA and WIS damage

So...

Is there any way to get the Soulknife's Shape Ranged Weapon to emulate a Technological Weapon and/or Modern Firearms?

I'm looking for the ability to pull out OPERATOR shit out of my butt. GEP gun, MN-23, experimental nanomachine sword, et cetera.
>>
>>51939343

That's A Kobold of the Short-tail clan
>>
>>51939050
Preservationist Alchemist. Just refluff the class so that instead of making potions and elixers, you make magical cards that hold effects which can be activated by the person holding the card (using Infusion) and with the Summon Ally chain you can summon creatures with your cards.

>>51939170

The short tail is fine, such mutations happen

But if she's a Kobold, where the heck is her proud draconic snout!? How could she a Kobold if she lacks one of the race's most defining features!?

Unless she is either so horribly mutated that her siblings should've eaten her after hatching, or she's some kind of degenerate skinfag who polymorphed herself, that is no 'bold!

I'm definitely rebuilding Ezekiel as a Roil Dancer/Elemental Scion (Void) Kineticist//Consumed Vigilante

At high enough levels, he doesn't need to eat, sleep, breathe, or even drink water.

Speaking of Kobolds, wheres the love for Gnolls? Amirite

On another note in the anime Grimgar of Fantasty And Ash, they call what are obviously gnolls, Kobolds throughout the show. it irks me but makes up for it in being a fantastic show.
>>
>>51940146

Back in the day, kobolds were described as "dog-like", and Japan's pretty much gone with that ever since.
