I thought the fractal fight scenes (and maybe Dormamu's bitchfit) were the best parts of an otherwise completely forgettable movie.
>>
>>51904203
How the fuck could they waste Mads Mikkelsen?
How?
>>
>>51904707
CGI fightscenes are always lame. "Oh look someone drew something, let's stare at it for half an hour before the good guy wins." It's such a waste of time. At least least real fight scenes with props and stunts leave you like "oh shit Jackie Chan is amazing!" What's even the interest in a long-ass, cgi fight scene? "Oh shit forty-three people graduated from art school and then found employment!"

A lot of films have been wasting him lately, coincidentally all Disney properties.

Like what you like, guy. I find it boring as shit. Find it however you do.

List all the spells that Steve casts in the movie. Artefacts don't count.

Seriously, I don't think you get just how ludicrously powerful even an mid-level D&D wizard is. An epic-level D&D wizard is one of the few things /tg/ agrees could fight the entire WH40K universe at once and win.

The dude has a point.
One of the major attractions of cinematography is practical effects and camera work. Before the advent of CGI, the work of the camera operators and practicalFX specialists was really important - it framed the narrative just as much as the actual plot.
Like, look at John Wick and its lack of obnoxious jumpcuts and CGI. Look at its properly executed "show, don't tell" approach that foregoes both not explaining shit at all to the viewer and explaining too much of the shit to the viewer. Etc., etc. - the point is - shit like that is important.
Just like Photoshop killed photography, CGI killed camera work and specialFX. Just like you can now take an absolutely shitty photo that has zero redeeming qualities on its own and then post-process it in Photoshop into something palatable, so you can film an absolutely shitty scene and then add CGI for more visual bang without any real substance.
Photography is no longer an art of capturing the perfect moment. Cinematography is no longer an art of capturing the perfect scene.
Just look at the difference between the original LotR and the Hobbit trilogies. Look at the Star Wars original and prequel trilogies.
You can discard my opinion as an incoherent elitist rant or something - even though I don't even identify myself as much of a movie lover - but camera work and practical effects are really important, in my opinion.

Basically, what I'm trying to say, working within limitations often brings out the creative genius out of the people. Just like there are many games that wouldn't be so great if they didn't have to deal with technical limitations (like the fog of Silent Hill, I dunno, I can't really think of examples off the top of my head) of their platforms, so there are movies that wouldn't be so cool if they didn't have to deal with the limitations of the camera work.

Mmh really, I mean unless he's a level 100 wizard I doubt he could compete in the 40k universe unless I'm forgetting something.
>>
>>51911461
There is no difference between an lv21 wizard and an lv100 one. Once you have Epic Spellcasting, being higher level doesn't change your options, only let you use them faster.
>>
>>51904187
3rd-level soulknife with the Mind Shield and Skill Focus (Use Magic Device) feats, and membership of an organization that grants two 5th-level spell-like abilities if you have a high enough affiliation score.

Mmm.
>Open Portal
>Astral projection
>Arcane Lash
>Shield
And, uh, time - shenanigans.

Pretty much it
>>
>>51912118
There is a huge difference, powerful epic spells have ridiculously high Spellcraft DC, only very high level spellcasters can cast them.
>>
>>51912189
The time shenanigans rely on the OP artifact he carries.
>>
>>51912189
The portals require a magic item. The astral projection also isn't the same as D&D astral projection - it sends their soul into the Ethereal Plane, and they can die if it's attacked.
He does also have the "travel into the Mirror Dimension" thing, which I guess is sort of like Shadow Walk?

>>51912821
>What is reducing spell DC in exchange for longer casting time or requiring assistants to help you cast it
>What is spells that let you speed up time infinitely and create an infinite number of assistants
