He's some 700-ish old vampire that's sick and tired of the PCs (who are dedicated and elite monster hunters) fucking with his and everyone else's shit. I'm DMing two games, one in a homebrew and the other is FR.

The homebrew's campaign BBEG was supposed to be a Wizard, specialising in Divination, who ran an artifact smuggling ring and was looking to plunder several newly discovered islands for legendary artifacts that would make him unstoppable. The Elven leader of my campaign is planning on using the minor races (Gnomes, Halflings, Tieflings, ect.) to augment their own technological might to be on par with Humans and Dwarfs, and use that to launch another war with the Human/Dwarf coalition, with the intention of taking over the continent.

As well,they want to take/destroy the Crystals of the other Kingoms (High Elves, Dark Elves, Humans, Dwarfs and Orcs each have one), so that the only civilization that can use it's powers (in my campaign you need to be in contact with the Kingdom Crystal or one of it's smaller shards to level up), keeping other civilizations at Level 1 forever while the High Elves can become stronger.

The BBEG in mine is a nosferatu-esque vampire wizard wants to absorb the power of a half-summoned demon lord in order to ascend to a nascent demon-lord status himself, becoming more of a badass. He figures that as a quasi-divine undead god-king he can re-focus civilization into a magic-heavy necromancy state that can present unified challenge to the subterranean aliens that emerge to consume civilization every 10,000 years or so, while also just having the fun that comes from being a new demigod of necromancy.

My BBEG is an extraplanar court of eldritch entities that drifts throughout the multiverse absorbing planes into itself. So it's currently trying to terraform the plane into something similar to itself before absorbing it.

Currently there isn't one. The most recent one though, she had constructed this mechanism which drew vast magic quantities to power it. She made it to reach back in time and snag her husband before he died to bring him to the present, but time travel/alteration is a severe violation of universal laws so a lot of people, gods even were unhappy with this since it might ave unraveled reality. Despite our best efforts she managed her plan but fortunately for everyone it backfired because she brought her husband to the present for all her hopes and dreams to come true, but he didn't recognize her since she'd become quite different from the woman he knew in her BBEG pursuits. Seeing her as a monster basically he wanted nothing to do with her, and it destroyed her and she just gave up on living at that point, ending her threat as BBEG.

the joke here is he's not really the BBEG and we don't have one of those in campaign. Instead we're focusing on surviving encounters with his armies and navigating the intrigues that come from his unstoppable conquest of the world.

To hijack the forced evolution plot the kind of benevolent if a little Darwinian envoys of the Precursor race came peddling, so that every human being is uplifted and spared the coming apocalypse instead of only a small subsection of genetically gifted children as the precursors intend.

He does this by killing one of the envoys, tearing the other in half and using its still living heart for fuel, accidentally letting loose alien kaiju everywhere and mindwiping his son into forgetting his identity and obsessing over a psychic girl because part of the fucked up plan involves some weird fuckery about humanity being born again and "the new Adam & Eve".

They had been messing around with his plans for a while, hijacking shipments, killing his men and looting temples before he could on the newly discovered islands, etc, etc. He'd used his magic to discover one of the player's identities, the LN's Monk. The Monk had a family in his backstory, who he was adventuring to feed. The BBEG decided to go visit the family, leave the mark of his organisation and a message for the guy to step off.
Sadly, the player's didn't like it. I'd asked the Monk's player before I'd begun it, but the others weren't happy at all and he didn't back me up. They ask to change their characters to members of his family. I decide fin, since the Wizard would just go on, drop some stuff for the Monk to find and panic over, and get the hell out.
For some background on the family, they ran a medical herb shop, the wife was an ex-Rogue who had adventured with he husband and they had three kids, twin daughters and a son.
I told them to draw up characters quickly, telling them to use Commoner Stats for the kids. I go straight to having the wizard arrive, but they throw another fit about not having set up time. Fine, I say, you have an hour in game to go about your daily chores, etc.
They did not go about their daily chores, unless they involve prepping sedative drugs and the magic items the party had stored in the place, and now my former BBEG is drugged, routinely tortured and locked up in their basement while the whole family of Gary and Mary Sues go around the islands beating stuff up as the ultimate Rogue/Monk combo.
The Dracolich is just a big fuck you to them who was awoken by them insisting on exploring several cursed temples.

He's a former idol and an elf. The BBEG was his manager and has secretly wanted to fuck him since he discovered the kid. Ever since then, he's been obsessed with fucking elf boys and he hates the fact that he's got these urges and takes it out on his victims once he's done. He keeps their heads as trophies as a constant reminder of his failings in hopes that one day he'll overcome it all.

He wants the PC because he sees the PC as the origin of his obsession and thinks that if he just fucks the PC then he'll be cured. The murder is for the suffering he's endured. The mounting is to show himself that he's better than the PC and that he's strong enough to get whatever he wants.

He wants to make everyone, everywhere in the world, happy. All the time. He wants them all to live long, well-ordered, healthy lives of emotional fulfillment.

When people wouldn't go along with the obvious worthiness of his original plan, he woke up a buried army of powerful automatons and started imposing the necessary order on several city-states.

When that wasn't enough, he started forcibly inducting everyone into a hivemind. They still have their own identities, to the extent he allows, but they're also him, and do what he thinks is right.

This would have worked pretty well except he's not actually as good a ruler as he thinks, and his ego won't let him draw on the actual experts he's brought into the hivemind. So, now he's cultivating vast fields of magical grapes, making wine, and then passing the wine through the bodies of thousands of bee-people to create a super potent drug that can bliss out anyone with ease. This will allow him to crush resistance and pacify all populations without pushing the hivemind too hard.

He's just about progressed to the point of "have to sacrifice some of my subjects for the future greater good," and the slope ahead is both long and slippery.

He is a healer that was the first to think of consuming evil to remove it from the world. It worked for a time, but he didn't know that it was actually building up inside of him. The guy's basically a selfless individual with cthulhu in his stomach. He is looking for other ways to manage it before it gains strength and escapes. The problem is that none of his attempts at a solution has worked so far. They all... well, they all seem to end up in Raccoon City type incidents. Killing him would just blow the lid on the great evils of the world, so that's a no go.

It's borrowed partly from FFXV, but it's also an allegory for self control. Many of the NPCs the players meet are facing struggles with their wants and the consequences that they would bring. Not all of their wants are evil or selfish, but they do pull them away from other goals.

I'm not certain that the party isn't the BBEG. Just to put everything in context, this is a DtD campaign.

Places we go have a tendency to end up on fire, exploded, or both. So far, we've destroyed an insane asylum that may or may not have been brainwashing the inmates (it doesn't help that one of the directors was a Malal worshipper masquerading as a Pelor worshipper and the other was a Spark), thoroughly shaken up a rather backwards goliath village and we're currently in the middle of attempting to shadowrun an attack on the megacorp that's the enemy of one of the party members, in an attempt to clear our collective name of the asylum thing. It's not going well. The "stealth" part has kinda gone down in flames.
