Jesus is capable of bringing people together, lending charity, and banishing evil. Though good for a community, he offers little to an individual.

Literally the opposite my dude.

Second based combat sounds complex at first glance, but once you actually play it's a breeze.

Due to how trauma checks work, a combat can be over almost as soon as it starts. Otherwise it can take maybe 15-20 minutes.

The final battle at the conclusion to a campaign had over 75 combatants and was easily managed by the GM with nothing more than some tokens and a numberline and didn't even take 2 hours.

Personally, I'll never go back to D&D.

As long as you keep the speed up on the count, combat will never feel long and it's engaging enough that players should be entertained the whole time.

I also like that they don't lock the combat maneuvers behind feats. It adds a lot of depth to the fight right off the bat, though I recommend you wait til you get the basic framework down first before adding them in.

Start with the basic rules. Add the advanced as you get more comfortable.

Forget the other games you've played. You'll learn the system much faster if you trash all the idiosyncrasies that other systems have (like swift, quick, standard, move, and free actions)

The glaive is over powered. Nerf it.
The knife is meant to be a kitchen knife so it's supposed to be kind of useless.

Honor isn't a common sense thing and you don't earn it by doing the smartest thing. Honor is about doing the heroic thing.
Use it to reward good rp as well and you never have to fudge your dice.

Keep the combat count moving at a quick pace. If a player dallies or can't decide what he's doing, his character delays as well.

That's about all the advice I'd give for a HM rookie.
