Weapon and armor maintenance and cleaning. Preparing a hearty meal for the party based on what the hunter has trapped and foraged. A little bit of lute and singing in the firelight and then take my turn on watch or bed down.

Repost for new thread!
Second Avowed writer here. While we're currently discussing our options on what to do with Overcharge Modulation, Self Pact's preliminary nerfs (we WILL be playtesting this more) are a change to make the damage dealt by the bonus attacks entirely static (though scaling with level). They'll trigger non-damaging effects, but neither benefit from bonus damage or additional damage sources (so they can't trigger Sneak Attack, for example.) This should make it easier to tune, while still having some interesting optimization benefits.
Further, like with a lot of OTHER attunements, we'll be making theirs scale with their level, though not quite as harshly. Their charisma bonus to armor class will be capped at 3+class level, meaning they'll grant a similar bonus as someone in light armor should it be a one-level dip, while rapidly providing their full benefit to someone who decides to take more levels.
While we're presently still working on it, Aether Channel's second-rank selection is being removed and replaced with a different effect. Their DPR with full base attack bonus was simply too strong, and we'll be reworking the ability.

In other news, we'll soon be bringing two new shapes to the Avowed 2 playtest - the all-new Aether Circus, which fires extremely long range missiles that track their target over several rounds, and Aether Beast, for those who would prefer to stand back and have their loyal minion do all the work. Thank you for your support and feedback!

>>51883276
Sorry to say that is indeed what will be going. Its damage was just way too far ahead of the touch attack shapes, in part because our original math hadn't accounted for weapon special abilities.

>>51883291
Aether Barrage doesn't seem to be a problem at the moment. We're pretty happy with where it is right now, though it's possible we're missing something. How does it feel in your games?

Yo avowed writer, I'm not some hardcore math grinder, but
>Aether Channel's second-rank selection is being removed and replaced with a different effect.
Fucking. Why. The biggest glaring problem with Aether channel is that it added full Aether Pulse damage (that could be overcharged) on top of the weapon damage, the full BaB was just an actually cool bonus effect that made it feel kinda cool and unique. It never looked like it should have been something that did most of your damage for you, it looked like it should have been a build enabler shape.

The most obvious problem was how it applied full Aether Pulse Damage, not the Full BaB part.

Not a city, but Hwanggot!

Hwanggot is objectively, canonically the most peaceful land in all of Golarion. Pic related.

>However, as the aged queen slowly recedes into the background, there is some concern that the transition following her inevitable death may not be as smooth as might be hoped, for Princess Geon-ji seems strangely restless and aggressive for a member of that proud family line. Rather than adopt the traditional role of diplomacy against Hwanggot’s greatest current enemy, Bachuan, the princess instead ordered the erection of a network of mammoth stone fortresses along the Shuidao River—the border the two countries share. Government agents work night and day to explain and disprove rumors that Hwans have been captured by Bachuan agents who have infiltrated Hwanggot, and that the captives have been tortured or even transformed into undead assassins to be sent back into the Kingdom of Flowers to spread misery.

Overcharge Modulation is the biggest problem at the moment, and we are working on it. The extra attacks granted by various shapes are because we actually balanced with Haste as an assumption - given they don't stack with that, we're not super worried.

That said, Forrest is the one with the spreadsheets and we WILL be taking a closer look.

>>51883394
The problem was that it was dealing too much damage. Altering the damage progression, like the Kineticist does with a similar effect, results in odd breakpoints. The full base attack bonus also just proved to be harder to balance around because of the effect additional iteratives and BAB had on DPR. Ultimately our intention with the shapes is to have them be the primary source of an Avowed's damage, not just a small rider effect.

It's Forrestfire's class, and you're free to design it as you will since you've all likely done far more things to check it over, but this shit still looks dumb as fuck to me. I guess I'll just have to give it time for myself to stop being such a salty little bitch and possibly hope there's an archetype down the road that has the things I want from Avowed.
Self Pact changes look pretty alright, at least, so good on ya'll there.

When the mage was enhancing them to be +2 weapons, the daggers got triggered because we assumed that there's only +2 enhancements. Through this freak accident of completely inanimate objects gaining sentience the daggers became +1 furious daggers which we strapped to the badger and taught it to use them instead of it's claws that a bandit decided to pull out with pliers as a petty revenge.

The heights attained by the 2hu builds are pretty much maxed out affairs (in one case you even turn into a fly for the accuracy you know?) with +10 dex by level 9. Since that 200-odd is all even those can pull off, It's pretty safe.

Rather the problem with barrage is that it was only attaining those with the heavy static bonuses getting snuck in from everywhere and then multiplied before being multiplied again in a barrage.

In other words, on its own, by default, without overcharge modulation and with *regular* static bonuses (just CHA and FCB), it... wasn't holding its own.

Say you've got +6 CHA by then, and +3 from the FCB: that's 5d8+9 times three hits. You're just able to take out a CR-2 on average...

Now the weapon-based shapes DO have additional costs (in weapon and accuracy) so it's natural they ought to hit harder; that much is not an issue. But this means that shapes such as barrage or chain (turn that wrath cylinder 90 degrees towards enemies and we can talk about naming something wave!) are technically lacking in the *ABILITY* to grow.

Simply put; Barrage without Overcharge is just a bit short; what it needs is a crystalline-focus equivalent. It's basically in a similar position to Kineticists in that the "it's not costing you WBL" was originally screwing them up the tailpipe by virtue of leaving them without any upgrades. If a level 9 can't attain at least 115 DPR even after heavily optimizing everything right down to race, the shape is dead.

Likewise with AoEs; you gotta at least be able to deal with half your CR (and we never run into half; more like a large pack of -3s by 10th)

Okay, so I have a question.

So tell us more about the missiles. And obviously how you intend to have it interact with other shapes through those combiner feats, because MDE WARHEADS AND HOMING LASERS.

Speaking of, those combiners are one of the ways to help scale the damage at a more reasonable pace, since such things just can't be done at 0 "build" cost.

Lie flat on her belly, actually. At that point she doesn't even have to spread her legs. It's usually the way to roll your wife over when she doesn't want you to wake her up because of work.

The laziest for both combined is probably spooning. You can get by with very minimalistic motions for the most part.
>>
>>51883920
Okay, that's nice. Could you elaborate , please? Is there some terrible downside to specializing?
>>
>>51883862
Conjuration is the best. If you summon a lot, you need to do prep work so that you're ready to fight with them at the table. Other conjuration spells are great, too.

Enchantment, evocation, and necromancy are common opposition schools.
>>
>>51883956
Not same anon but it's more what universalist gets you. The level 8 ability is free metamagic. That's huge, especially since it grows at 1 free spell level per 2 levels in that way and doesn't increase casting or preparation times; you do it on the fly as needed.

Meanwhile a specialist has to choose two schools that they suck at: those cost you double slots. AND you're worse at crafting.

For a first-timer universalist is fucking good. Later on, of course, transmuters, conjurers and the like can get very great mileage - usually evocation'll be one of the oppositions especially for a conjurer since like 1/3 of the best evocation spells ... are actually fucking conjuration spells instead.
>>
>>51883758
I'm being kind of a selfish, whiny cunt about it, but it was a combination of things.

>The sheer novelty of being full BaB, with all the usual benefits it entailed (faster access to certain feats, better power attack, better accuracy in general)
>easy-to-use shape for autistic dumb fucks like me who want to be able to just "hit dude good" when combat comes around without worrying about gimmicks
>Avenger Vigilante is my favorite Vigilante Specialization and I got excited that there might be something similar in Avowed
>I get to pretend to be a Real Martial(tm) but still get to have a bit of magic so I'm not trapped in the hell of being totally mundane
>did I mention I am a basic bitch who tends to gravitate towards very simple things
>>
>>51883862
Divination. Acting first in combat is a wizard's bread and butter.

Opposition schools: Evocation and necromancy aren't that useful on the long run.
>>
>>51883862

I gotta get to the bottom of this. I assumed he just lost interest cause of the drive time but if something else happened, I'm gonna feel like such a bitch.
>>
>>51883862
Conjuration and Divination are going to be the typically best choices, however, if you're just going for 'general good stuff' then there's nothing wrong with Universalist; it doesn't gain much in the way of many boons that other schools have, but the lack of any penalty to any spell is nice to have.
>>
>>51883752

There's probably something in Pathfinder that can make it even lazier, some sorta object transference ring that doesn't even require you to be pressed up against some sweaty, stuffy person.
>>
>>51883862

If you're looking to make a generic 'good guy' mage, Conjuration & Transmutation are good choices for specialization; lots of good spells in both; Conjuration's not quite as god tier as it was in 3e, but it's still very good.

As far as opposed schools, you can safely ditch one of either Enchantment or Illusion; they both largely target Will saves, so you don't really need both. Necromancy's another easy drop - it's all undead shit and evil shit, and while a lot of it's good, none of it is critical.

Lockon system: Every round the missiles roll to attack BEFORE moving: If successful they beeline towards their target, on a miss they keep going straight. When they intersect the square of the target is when they blow, when they lose lock or run out of fuel, they're out. Not taking at least a 5' step when being chased could lead to being hit despite a rolled miss, but you can also outrun them with shit like dimension door easily.

>>51884292
Different people have greatly varying definitions of fun. Remember that anything more lively than gregorian chant was the devil itself to some folks long ago.

It's badly worded but this suggestion could be quite usable. A lot of systems have shit like homing missiles, and they're often rather badly done.

In the worst cases, they're just a normal to-hit roll + time-to-target, which means you KNOW which one's the nat-20 that you need to shoot down first, and which ones will never hit you, right when the trigger was pressed down.

Fragged Empire sorta has something similar: Initial missile launch has an attack roll: either they're shot dumbfire and resolved immediately (but that can be like a -8 to hit) or they're fired with guidance, in which case a successful attack roll... uh... puts a token (like summons) on the map. The missile will now move normally like yet another ship, until it reaches the target's space (if ever), at which point, uh... it rolls to hit again. And no, that original roll wasn't to obtain a lock; that was a different action you did probably the turn before.

Here, maybe too many rolls but the moving thing is no different from flaming spheres or disposable summons except without a derth of actions and options it can take.

Needs a bit of work but can definitely be worked from.

It's a flaming sphere you have to roll an attack for every turn just to determine what direction it moves in, that can be spammed indefinitely (and should, because otherwise you're sitting on your ass waiting for one missile at a time to hit or miss).

I'm in agreement with you on that one. But I do think the moving tokens is a good one.

It would probably be just 2-4 like barrage does, and they probably don't last more than a few rounds, so it probably only makes it to 20 if the enemies are like 2000ft away and your first missiles have yet to reach?

So I'm kinda new and need to make sure I'm not missing something. Regular gauntlet attacks count as unarmed, does this mean a monk can simply wear one and then use it for his weapon magic enhancement, assuming he attacks with his fists? I have a game to run later tonight. I was not looking forward to this session until yesterday night, when I had a sudden flash of inspiration for the coming session and am now looking forward to it. Instead of just going into town to murder a badguy, they're going to get wrapped up in a small conspiracy involving trying to prove the badguy is a badguy and then having the chief of the police pitch their evidence into the fire after they go to the trouble of collecting it because he's secretly in on the whole mess.

I also played in a game yesterday and had a lot of fun being a wide-eyed and hopeful dragon hatchling starting her first adventure. Tomorrow, I have another game to play in a non-PF system.

The projectiles function somewhat similarly to aether wells, though they move directly towards a target (though they can move around corners and will not collide with walls) at the end of each of your turns for a limited number of rounds. When they reach a square occupied by a creature, that creature gets a reflex save to dodge it - on a successful reflex save, the missile continues in a straight line until it finishes its limited movement. If the missile still has turns remaining, next turn it'll move directly towards the target again. Ranks, at the moment, are doubled movement speed, 1d8/CL damage, and an area of effect upon detonation.

This is a very early draft, and the finished version may appear somewhat different.

>part one ends with Razmir reaching the obsidian tower and doing some ritual
>the power is destroyed in a massive earthquake
>the countryside is devastated
>Razmir stands triumphant having consumed Tar-Baphon and he himself become a power mythic being
>all the mythic ranks awaken Razmir's divine spark, his priests surge with power
>all the PCs, several of Razmir's men, and a few NPCs were exposed to mythic power when the tower went down
>the party has to head south to Taldor
>news follows them
>Razmir is gearing up to conquer all of central Avistan
>the Shining Crusade is to be called again against a new thread
>Razmir is not satisfied with what he has received so far, he plans on finding and uprooting the world's old evils to consume

Most of the big evils in Golarion are imprisoned or indifferent. Razmir plans on consuming them all to become a new God-king of Avistan and beyond. You and Taldor must stand tall against a new living god.

The idea is that main NPCs for the adventure and villains would be taken from those exposed to mythic power when the tower went down. Meaning you meet your villains early on and see them suddenly experience explosive growth in power, same as the PCs.

In the current age in Golarion a lot of the world's big evils and players are either imprisoned, asleep, or gone. Geb and Nex are, the whispering tyrant, the arisen have fucked off. The world's big players are recluses.

For Razmir it would mean a lot though because it:
>makes him an actual god
>makes him immortal and eternally young

Razmir finally made into a true god would actually be a pretty fucking great villain I think at least.

However you know what I realized this campaign would need. You need someone on your side at the same level as Razmir to lead the Shining Crusade. Razmir is LE and claims to have completed the test of the starstone. How about the CG god who actually completed the test of the starstone?

Cayden Cailean vs Razmir with you Cayden's top men and fighting Razmir's top men. We already had a big AP that focused on Iomedae, the other Starstone gods need focus.
>>
>>51886925

The game already has rules for downtime, reputation, relationships and running a rebellion. Why not mechanics that define just how exceptional a person is?

Mythic means you're a cut above the rest. Are you honestly going to tell me a level 15 will somehow garner more respect or fame than a level 1? Don't make me laugh, they're both a miserable pile of basic stat boosts and the common peasant will spit in your eye.
>>
>>51886895
The sun shuts off first of all. Next the moon destabilizes because the entire Moonscar dies. Every dead mortal becomes an insane ghost rather than passing on. The world begins to freeze because of no connection to the plane of fire. Rovagug's influence would increase because no one can maintain the cage.

The world fucking goes to shit in 20 minutes flat.
>>
>>51886952
I mean, you're actually not really wrong. The sun is literally a portal the the positive energy plane, so if someone tried to cut the material plane off from all other planes, most or all stars would go out.

>>51886976
I like that there's a Mythic Power that makes you immune to curses and if you're an Oracle you can FINALLY shrug off the downsides of your curse. Just a really cool flavor thing.
>>
>>51886983
>You need someone on your side at the same level as Razmir to lead the Shining Crusade.

That is patently untrue and your lies disgust me. A mythic cannot challenge all of creation to a brawl and come out unscathed, however a challenge of skill where you come out relatively clean against some mighty foe will absolutely make you seem practically god-like in the eyes of the common folk.

If it sends them back then it fucking releases Rovagug, which is a hundred fucking thousand times worse.

Some other issues would be the following:
>any number of extraplanar requiring machines/devices shut off
>divine magic stops working unless they worship an arisen or starstone god

Even then I should think that most of them aren't actually on Golarion at any given time.
>>
>>51887102
I am not getting the attitude of:
>having anyone stronger than you equals just fighting mooks

Razmir needs some reason not to just crush the PCs since they are mythic creatures who could pose an eventual threat. Cayden Cailean being around and supporting the crusades is an actual reason. Razmir and Cayden fighting while the PCs work to cut off the many heads of the mythic champions Razmir has seems very interesting to me.

Otherwise why would Razmir not just scry and die the PCs before they could pose a significant threat, the moment he becomes aware of a group of mythic creatures running around trying to mess with his plans.
>>
>>51887159
But most of them live on other planes. If they can't connect with the material plane then they can't give clerics their daily dose of divine power. And the ones who do live on the Material? It's fuckers like Ydersius and Rovagug.

Except it's true? What happens when you hit high levels. You simply fight an Advanced Goblin instead of a Normal Goblin, and your quests come from Advanced Innkeeper instead of Innkeeper.

In fact, in 80% of APs the story explicitly ends with the party solving a problem than going home, nobody the wiser there was a threat at all. Only Wrath of the Righteous gives the party visibility and... Oh, what's that? That's right! It's Mythic!

This was actually the climax in The Apocalypse Stone, where the prime material gets cut off from other planes. Basic results were:
>divine magic shuts off, since outer planes are cut off
>summoning magic also fails for a similar reason
>spells like teleport, dimension door, etc. that move through dimensions fail since interdimensional travel can't function
>the dead can't be resurrected, and the newly dead can't pass on and instead become wandering spirits
>undead begin losing powers, and new undead cannot be animated due to a lack of connection to the shadow plane
>extraplanar creatures currently on the prime material cannot return and lose powers
>elements begin swinging wildly out of balance, including rains of fire, midday blackness, drying seas and lakes, etc.

>Aether Circus
>an Itano Circus effect

You cheeky dickwaffles.

Anyway, on damage balance: having full BAB equivalence and hitting touch is not as much of a problem as handing out a very large multiplier to damage that stacks with other sources to damage. Extra attacks are a very large multiplier to damage, which was then multiplied further with the Overcharge x1.5.

Take the Gunslinger. Weapon cords and the double barrel system were nerfed into the ground due to players saying Slinger damage was OP. Note that Gunslingers get to use their to-hit stat to damage, which is on the lower end of damage boost abilities.

What made a Gunslinger dangerous before the wave of nerfs was the fact that, with weapon cords, reload tricks, and the old double system, along with TWF and Rapid Shot, they could get a very large number of attacks every round (Barrel one hand one, barrel one hand two, barrel two hand two, drop hand two, barrel two hand one, reload hand one, drop hand one, reload hand two, pick up hand two, barrel one hand two, barrel two hand two, reload again, barrel whatever hand two for RS hit + Haste, reloading when necessary).

Now not only is that really annoying to remember or deal with in play, it was double the attacks of its closest comparison, a Fast Bombs Alchemist at level 8. Our flasked avenger friend was putting out 5 flasks (Iterative 1 + Iterative 2 + TWF + RS + Haste) instead of 10 bullets, which also benefited from magic weapon bonuses. The bomb Alchemist is considered acceptable. The Gunslinger caused much weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Bomb Alchemists get Rogue damage, but on a very limited resource. Gunslingers got default damage on $TEXAS attacks all day. When you take the silly attack numbers away, the Gunslinger is bottom bitch of the martials. When you add a lot of easy hitting attacks with bonus damage, you get the Beastmorph Vivisectionist.

Also, thinking about it there is some more reasonings as to why the player would not simply feel that they are Cayden's lackeys. The fact that he is the following:
>absent
>doesn't make decisions
>generally incompetent
>prone to deific level benders

Cayden would essentially be a sledge hammer being wielded by a retard during the adventure. He's a deterring force if Razmir tries to force a direct conflict, but not exactly a commander. He wouldn't be leading the crusade, it isn't the kind of deity he is.

Razmir is weaker but a good deal smarter than Cayden. Cayden is just really fucking dangerous as an actual starstone god compared to Razmir who is just a demi-god if he consumed the Whispering Tyrant.

I say all that to say this: when making a damage bonus effect, decide what your damage bonus will be (flat, multiplier, bonus dice) and resource mechanic behind it (static, catch, rounds/ammo, encounter), then take a 1pp class seen as good with that paradigm as your benchmark.

For all day static damage, you're looking at a Gloves of Dueling Fighter. For round based static, Barbarian. For encounter static, Paladin. For bonus damage with a catch, Scout Rogue. Bonus damage with ammo, Alchemist with Fast Bombs or a Grenadier. Multipliers would be the old Supercharger 3.X builds or a Dungeoncrasher Fighter, but critfisher Magus works for multiplier with ammo (spell slots/Arcana pool). Want a combination of flat and bonus dice per encounter? Inquisitor.

See what's good and tune to that. Don't pull numbers and bonuses out of your ass.

To be desu, that cap might as well be the armor bonus, given how specifically it scales. If having $TEXAS Cha is a problem, have the Cha maximum be a constant which then is changed at level breakpoints or just not fucking have Cha to AC.

This isn't difficult. Either do things like the UnMonk (conditional double up removing the ability to have other armor) or the good Oracle Mysteries (replaces Dex, but you already can wear armor that doesn't have a high max Dex). If you don't want the class to be overly SAD, do not give them Cha to AC, instead give them a flat, stat agnostic boost.

So I talked before about new Unchained Fighter Archetypes, and have been doing some brewing along those lines. The newest archetype, the Crossbow Master can be viewed here:

After feedback I have decided to drop the Mercenary Lord and the Pact Master. The Mercenary Lord will have some of its abilities rolled into Advanced Equipment Trainings, such as a Leadership ability that includes followers with certain item creation feats. The Pact Master was dropped due to simply not having a lot of design space. In order to give it something unique I would have had to essentially write an entirely new class. However I would like the talk about the current three offerings.

>Scofflaw
The Scofflaw is an intersection between the Unchained Fighter and the Unchained Rogue with its own unique ability called Scoundrel's Tricks. These are to a degree replacing Advanced Weapon Trainings and are swift action abilities activated when attacking someone that is under the same conditions that would normally qualify for Sneak Attack. Besides that they gain access to a list of Rogue Talents through Advanced Equipment Trainings and trade out half their Weapon Trainings at the same level they get Scoundrel Tricks rather than Advanced Weapon Trainings for a bit of Sneak Attack. They also reduce down from Heavy to Medium armor proficiency and lose Tower Shields, but gain two additional skill ranks per level to compensate.
>>
>>51888208
>The Gentleman
This is a working name for the archetype. The idea behind it is a gentlemanly fighter, someone at home in debate and the like. It takes inspiration from baritsu, an english martial arts focused around the weighted cane most famously seen in Sherlock Holmes. The Gentleman gains additional techniques and riding abilities to his combat maneuvers when using the weighted cane as well as a number of abilities that enhance his social skills. The former replace a number of Advanced Weapon Trainings and the latter become Advanced Equipment Trainings. As well they lose armor proficiency down to light as well as some changed Armor Training, but gain abilities such as Uncanny Dodge and Evasion as compensation.

>Duelist
This is something I have been thinking through. This would be a dexterity based fighter around using a weapon in one hand and a parrying dagger in the offhand. They would gain an ability to parry and deflect blows, scaling as they level and being spent like AoOs. They would gain bonuses if they strike the same target multiple rounds in a row, as well as classic bonuses to disarm, trip, etc. The parrying dagger would be the crux of this archetype as many of its abilities would be based on having the parrying dagger with the character. As well likely it would be replacing an advanced armor training in favor of a scaling shield bonus to ac when using a parrying dagger, as well as the parrying dagger's enhancement bonus counting towards said shield bonus to AC.

Does anyone have any thoughts on these possibly archetypes for the Unchained Fighter? Also possible better names for the last two, I am having a hard time coming up with names for them.

>>51888329
That's rather silly. In Iron Gods you end up saving all of Golarion from being taken over by a deific artificial intelligence.

Anyone who actually completes an AP tend to do quite a lot. The impact varies from AP to AP but in most you do something that will change the fate of the continent if not the world. Except for city of thieves the smallest scale APs work on is country scale. Even Curse of the Crimson Throne has implications that will change quite a bit of Avistan.

Though I think you may simply be shit posting. I have a hard time telling.

PCs at the end of a campaign should feel like they're changed quite a few things, especially if you end around level 17-18 like APs. do.

I've got a bunch of asshole tiefling Paladin or Inquisitor NPCs that the party will run into during a dungeon crawl, who think that tieflings must be "redeemed" and of course the only redemption path is to join their ranks and dedicate one's life to destroying fiends.

There's a party member who is a tiefling. What should be the term they refer to unredeemed tieflings as? Twist: They are wearing fully-covering armor and won't be explaining that they're tieflings until pressed or until it would be dramatic to do so.

Even if nobody's aware of what *exactly* happened, the PCs are still behind the Technic League's [destruction/redemption, strike whichever is inappropriate], they're the heroes of several major towns throughout Numeria, they've already destroyed one minor demigod by the time they're 1/3 of the way through the AP, and they've likely got a new Goddess on their side after it's over.

Shit, one of them might even BE the new de facto ruler of Numeria.

But nobody knows about any of that because you say so. Nope, no group ever had their PCs achieve any measure of renown. No GM ever was anything more than an XP-awarding algorithm that occasionally belched out some fluff text.

The conductive weapon property allows one to put a supernatural ability, like touch of corruption, through their weapon. This is something every anti-paladin should have.

>I take feats to use my good Stat all the time
>keeping track of a scalar that doesn't actually matter (except you can get a +5 Cha mod from level 1, you stupid bitch) is too much of a pain.
>obnoxious minmaxing

Ummmm lol? So having a good stat is minmaxing, and having to keep track of basic math is too obnoxious? Did anime make you retarded?

If the Avowed has conditonal Cha(as Armor bonus and not untyped)+Dex to AC, without any other AC bonuses, it is actually worse than an UnMonk's bonus. If being worse than an UnMonk is cause for alarm that something is too powerful, you may be retarded.

If having Cha to AC is a problem, don't have Cha to AC you mouthbreather. Give them a scaling, stat agnostic bonus to AC.

What seems to be the actual issue here is there are several feat options that allow Cha to HP (which is never a good idea), Cha to hit and damage (which can be done with Starknives in core now) and Cha to Initiative (that one's 1pp), alongside this Cha to AC gimmick that makes the class overly SAD when put together. The only one of those which is truly imbalanced by itself is Cha to HP, because it fucks with the inherent damage/death balance, since Con is only important for HP and so much more important than your dice for determining it.

The tl;dr is nobody learned anything from Fairie Mysteries Initiate and animeposter needs to kys themselves.

I would argue it has several other means to grant one a larger reputation. The major ones are having an artifact. Having an artifact means you are carrying something around that pings as "overwhelming" when detected.

Super leadership through Crusader means you'll have quite a few extra followers a normal character can not. Leadership specifically calls out people are brought to you via your reputation.

Longevity, the fact that you will live forever unless killed, means you have a lot longer to build that reputation.

Extraplanar prestige specifically calls out what you would expect, you are well known extraplanarly.

Mythic Presence is to a degree another one as you unnerve people merely being around them.

You're twisting what the book actually says. Nobody knows, without them saying so, what actually happened. There is no great ceremony for defeating Unity.

But apparently, according to you--and just you, let's not forget--nothing else they've done matters. None of the monster slaying, town-saving, slaver-fighting, or other adventures.

Nope, PCs just kind of congeal out of the ground at the start of every module and disperse into the aether whenever that module ends unless the test notes otherwise to the point that it satisfies your autism. And, of course, NPCs are just blocks of code who march in place and say stock lines when you poke them.

You must have/be a really shitty GM. I feel sorry for you, really.
>>

It lets you grab one spell per spell level off other spell lists--specifically, bard, cleric, inquisitor, or oracle. How good it really is depends largely on which spells. You could get haste, dimension door, mirror image, some other good stuff, but there's a pretty strong counter-argument for it (i.e. "just use magic items with UMD").

I just prefer having the ability to use spells without having to dump gold on them. Unsanctioned Knowledge is like an item creation feat--you're "selling" your feat slot to save on gp, but on the other hand you now have an antipaladin/paladin who can teleport, buff, do more battlefield control, maybe even toss off a fireball if they really want to.

So does the Gent get the ability to be classy/charming (Diplomacy/Bluff as class skills) as well as savvy (shareable Lore Warden/Slayer style bonuses to studied targets)? Or do you still think adding more shit to choose from before combat makes a class better?

Scoundrel Tricks better be damn sure worth trading out the main part of what makes a Fighter viable now. Also, why not just sub out bonus feats for Sneak Attack? You know, like the actual 3.X developers did a decade ago (SA Fighter ACF).

I really do not like your design schema, although you seem to actually understand how the system works. More does not equal better, a bunch of dumb bullshit you Voltron together to be more better at combat does not make a good character or class. Your UnMartials are still less able to affect non combat situations than a goddamned Barbarian and have a bunch of crap that's below curve for a generic AAT/AWT Fighter unless you optimize harder.

Your design work is gorging itself on the bloated corpse of M:tG style feat/talent design, which was a shit idea in 2004.

Remember KISS: keep it simple, sadbrains.

In all fairness, you can do that with a Wizard now without being Mythic.

But anon, if you murder me than how will I DM for you guys?
>>
>>51888607
Right, but while those things make you more noticeable, they don't necessarily make you visible on a global scale. Being really long-lived or being unnerving, or even carrying an artifact is "rare and unusual", but not something that would make whole nations take notice of your name usually. Super leadership maybe, but that seems a bit more small-scale, probably on the same level of being a living god of your own small religion.

On the other hand, being the key factor in shutting the Worldwound *with spectators* is enough to skyrocket your visibility, Mythic or no.

>So does the Gent get the ability to be classy/charming (Diplomacy/Bluff as class skills) as well as savvy (shareable Lore Warden/Slayer style bonuses to studied targets)?
The Gent is meant to be both charming and savvy. One of his abilities currently is a Gentleman's Disagreement, a level scaling bonus to Diplomacy and Intimidate. This bonus increases for 24 hours against anyone he beats with his weighted cane, or anyone who witnesses him beating someone with said cane. The idea for how to make him savvy is actually taking from another class I designed before, which allows a character to give brief lectures on creatures to give a temporary bonus similar to favored enemy.

>Or do you still think adding more shit to choose from before combat makes a class better?
Unfortunately I am. I believe that more choice and more talents are almost always a good thing, as long as no talents are clearly better than others. This is why, for me, the Vigilante is one of my favorite classes.

>Scoundrel Tricks better be damn sure worth trading out the main part of what makes a Fighter viable now.
The idea is to keep it so you have both class features, meaning one can still spend feats on gaining new AWT. While you only receive half the AWT you normally do

>Also, why not just sub out bonus feats for Sneak Attack? You know, like the actual 3.X developers did a decade ago (SA Fighter ACF).
That is actually brilliant. I had not thought of that. But this may mess up the feats -> AWT so I will have to think on this. This is definitely a fantastic idea though.

>Your design work is gorging itself on the bloated corpse of M:tG style feat/talent design, which was a shit idea in 2004.
I am not sure what you mean by M:tG style.

>Your UnMartials are still less able to affect non combat situations than a goddamned Barbarian
Really? What is your reasoning on this.

>Remember KISS: keep it simple, sadbrains.
I think simplicity for its own sake has its fair share of problems.

>>51888923
Oh I agree. Deeds are what make someone famous. Mythic abilities just make you a bit more impressive to look at most of the time.

Your examples of suspicious behavior are all setups for forced drama and arbitrary conflicts.

You are advocating for NPCs to basically be the background crowds in every X-Men story, to act like J. Jonah Jameson in Spider-Man. Like Bulk and Skull without the eventual character development.

Why does it offend you so much that people might want to be more than murderhobos?
>>
>>51889397
uh, first, not same guy.

I said nothing about murderhobos; rather that rumors happen and people talk. And people shouldn't naturally antagonize others just because they've heard shit like that - on the contrary.

In the first example, people might ask for news in all sorts of ways. "Do you know Jeremy? You have to, he's from X town too, he was supposed to send me a box, it must be with you no one else has come from there in weeks", or kids asking if the giant ladybugs are gone now. There doesn't have to be drama and conflict, but that doesn't mean the NPCs are a static existence

For the latter; consider how everyone discovered who the Zodiac Killer really was.
